I haven’t even gone there yet to have my brakes done and already I like them. They were willing to even come pick up my car to check it out so I could stay home and work because I told him I work from home and I don’t have a lot of time. How awesome is that??? I will write another review after I get my brakes done but I bet you it will be a great one

Meineke Car Care of Kingston: I have been a customer since early 2014. Joe, the owner, is a really good guy. He makes you feel taken care of. Hes personable, attentive, and kind. He also has several loaner cars to provide customers who may need to get to work still or accomplish errands. Joe is quick to remind you when your eligible for any discounts via customer points or promotions. If you need a second opinion on work your car might need, Joe will give you an honest answer. Last date of service 04/13/21 and still a satisfied customer.

I called and they were able to take my car right away, they are very friendly and know what they are doing. They fixed the problem with my car the same day. I have some other issues with my car that have to get done and I’m going to definitely go back here. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

I took my boys skiing on a Saturday. We stayed at a local hotel. We went to a local restaurant for dinner and then the car wouldnt start. I did a Google search and saw raving reviews for Meineke. I also saw they open on Sunday at 9am. I arranged for a tow truck first thing Sunday morning. I called at 9am and Joe answered the phone. I was relieved because other customers mentioned Joe by name and said great things about him. When he found out that we were missing out on skiing he said take my car, go skiing and come back. The car will be ready! I couldnt believe it. Joe literally saved the day. We were prepared to leave the car and have a family member pick us up. It ended up being the starter motor. Joe was able to get the parts in minutes and, just like he promised, we went skiing, came back and the car was ready. Honest, friendly, knowledgeable, informative and willing to go above and beyond to help a customer.

Went in for oil change. Found out break line snapped. This wasnt a scheduled repair but they went above and beyond to make sure I drove it off the lot the same day. They showed me everything I needed to know about the repairs to bring it up to my safety. Charged me less than expected and even helped me find a tech for specific work needed. 👍

Best experience I’ve had with getting an oil change. Staff were nice, knowledgeable and fun to talk too. Prices were fair & reasonable, work was done within 1/2 hour, the waiting room was clean and had FREE wi-fi...definitely making this place my new car repair shop! It’s totally worth the visit. Down to earth, friendly and above all helpful. After being quoted a ridiculous price by Firestone, I called a few other repair shops and was lucky to find this place. I will always take my car here from now on. Was treated like a person and not just a walking ATM. Great service, quick and affordable. So glad I found this location!

Don’t think twice. Just go see Joe and his team. I came in for a second opinion of the condition of my car and the repairs needed. As an older Honda, there is sure to have some kinks, but it is a Honda, and it’s meant to last. I don’t know much about cars. Joe took his time to explain to me what was needed and basic maintenance to keep the car running as longs as possible (Joe even took me and my car out for a test drive!). They were thorough, clear with explanations, patient&helpful. I felt very taken care of and valued as a customer and human being. Prices are really fair too. I was there for 2 hours and paid $40. This is gem of a place that I will gladly be returning to no questions asked.

Very dense . This is my last minute last option last and only last dire need option. Use to love these guys. But recently past few years bunch of di.ck head. Ego headed. And over price alot . Go to tristar down the road. Alot better prices and better people who CARE and treat you as a freind . If you are paying alot of money feeling welcome is one thing you would expect. I go to this meineke exclusively, because I trust Joe and his mechanics. I live in Brooklyn but come up to Kingston and get my car serviced when I am visiting my mom. Especially as a woman, it’s important to get treated with respect and not get taken advantage of at a mechanic shop.

Joe and ask the guys there are courteous and professional and capable of taking care of whatever I throw at them.

I dealt with Joe both the day before on the phone and in person at my appointment. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Joe answered all my questions and the work performed was professional and beyond my expectations. Glad I made the choice to go there and will recommend to others.

I changed the oil here more than a year ago, I chose fully syntheticYou can usually get 450 points with the oil change kit. I asked the clerk to get 450 points, but today I found out that I didnt give me points because I had to prepare for the oil change service, so I went to take a look. I found out that I had no points until I found the account. so terrible

The whole team of technicians were great! There was an emergency pickup truck repair necessary and this shop was able to solve problem in an hour after arrival even without an appointment.

I was returning from a trip upstate and my diesel van broke down in Kingston on a Sunday afternoon. The shop was only open for another hour, and they were already lined up with work, but they pushed to fit me in. Ultimately we needed a part that wouldn’t arrive until the next day, and I’d be stranded overnight. The crew set me up with a loaner free of charge, and put in genuine time to line up housing and restaurant recommendations in the area. They called me by name - really kind people.My car was fixed up first thing next morning. I was going to ask if they could also check my tire pressure and they already had, and went ahead and balanced the pressure out as well. The cost was reasonable.If I didn’t live a few hours away, they’d be my go-to. I‘ll still make a point to service the van here if I’m driving by in the future.

Brakes rotors calipers It was a very pricey job being i supplied all the parts but they had my car back the following day so i guess thats a plus?

My engine gave out last Sunday and had to tow it to the only shop that’s open with great reviews, Meineke Kingston. Joe handled the situation very professionally. He was honest and blunt but makes it feel like it’s not the end of the world. They didn’t gate keep the repairs and suggested other options that could cost them my business. The front desk lady was very empathetic and did whatever she could to help me (I was in tears) and sent me any information that would help me. Not only that, they might be the only place I know around here that offered a substitute vehicle for free. That definitely saved us some time and money. I recommend this place for new comers and locals alike.

Joe and his team at Meineke in Kingston were recommended to me by a long time customer for their fair business. Joe diagnosed my vehicle’s issue, ordered the part and completed the repair quickly and efficiently with no up selling or attempt to make an extra buck. Further, while I was in the shop I saw two different customer exchanges where other customers were treated with kindness, empathy and fairness. I’ll be coming back for sure!

By my personal experience I expect brand name service centers to upsell me. They didnt do that. They were easy to get along with. They did the work in a timely fashion. They fixed my horn issue, topped off all fluid, rotated tires, happily put an aftermarket oil additive I payed off-site ( many places will shut away or try to sell you theres) I will most likely do business here again.

Joe abs the team at Meineke in Albany Ave are fantastic. They took car of my break issues quickly and didn’t up sale or charge me for thing I didn’t need. They fit me into their tight schedule and did fast great work.

I had to get my exhaust fixed up and get my car fixed up for inspection, and Joe and his team did perfectly on it. He showed me exactly what the problems were with my car, and explained everything really well. Brought it in at 8:00 AM on a Saturday, and they managed to get my whole list of things done all by 3:00 PM.I was really impressed with the work they did, and Ill definitely be going back there if I have any other problems with my car.

Out in Kingston on vacation when my car wouldnt start. The tow truck driver recommended bringing the car here. This was at night so I couldnt coordinate anything with meineke but I was able to reach Joey in the morning and he got right on it. He even offered to pick me up at the hotel and bring me to the car after it was fixed. The service was done within a few hours and he was extremely sweet. Honestly Ive never had such good service at a mechanic. If I lived here I probably would go anywhere else. Turned out to be a starter and he explained everything and the prices clearly. The price was good for what I needed. I would highly recommend them to anybody.

Dont go to this place. They are a rip off. They do not honor estimates. Owner is rude. Mechanics skills are questionable!

I came in for 35k scheduled maintenance, the list from the manufacturer that I went over with the owner when asking for service was; tire rotation, inspect tires, check all fluid & refill, visually inspect the breaks etc, and reset the maintenance warning. When I received the car the maintenance warning wasnt reset, and the flat tire light was on they didnt even check the air level in the tires. I paid $50.78, and the visible part of the service wasnt done, I cant trust that anything was done at all.

The shop was very busy but the crew did great work in good time. Great experience. 10/10

The people who run this Meineke operation are too notch. They were helpful and went above and beyond. My car has a warranty from the dealer and even though it cost them money, they were supportive of me first and lost a sale by supporting the dealers warranty and saved me money. They are honest and attentive to detail. These are my go to guys FIRST before anyone else.

Owner Joe has been there over 20 years and they are unfailingly competent, friendly, and fair.

I went in to get a diagnoses as to why my car check engine light was on and to get my car inspected. They told me a whole bunch of false issues about my car and said they would need to charge me $120 an hour to fix everything I would have spent at least $1,000 I took my car to a different shop and they redid everything plus fixed everything for $180 for everything and told my meineke lied and unplugged something to my car they also chipped the paint on my vehicle. Never going there ever again. Worst experience ever. Total scam and lies. Not trustworthy at all. They do more to ur vehicle to get more money

I had a tire rotation, inspection, and oil change...the TIRE ROTATION cost me $90!!! I have large tires, but $90, to simply rotate?!?! Walmart did the same exact thing for $10.80!!! Then the guy forgot to put my engine cover back on. The owner was nice enough to call me the next day to come back so they can put it on...I lave used this place for years, but my guy there, was unavailable....I wont go to them again unless Tark can work on it. .nope

Dropped off our classic Landcruiser for a new muffler, and was greeted by Joe, the owner. He was kind, courteous, and very helpful. He bought it to our attention that the muffler could be repaired, and he even lent us a loaner car while our vehicle was being repaired. Joe and his team saved us money&time, and made this a very pleasant experience. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Joe and the crew were super helpful when we had a brake line issue on a Sunday. Not only are they one of the few places open on a Sunday, but they were incredibly helpful and prompt in getting our issue fixed. I would highly recommend if you are in need of a repair, and I would feel super comfortable bring my car back again.

Don’t go here for AC repair. They wasted three days of my time, charged $700 and didn’t fix the problem. Or many any attempt to make it right other than to offer to charge me more. Take your business elsewhere. There are lots of other options in the same area.

I came in for a wheel alignment without a reservation and Joe gracious fit me in with an appointment later the same day. They took me on time, explained everything to me very well and seemed to do a very thorough and professional job. Also they were very nice people. I would use them again.

Class acts, they are professional, straight shooters and although its clear I dont know my way around cars they didnt take advantage of that and instead fixed my car and didnt try to run the bill up on me like other car service providers in the area. Im thrilled with the service at Meineke in Kingston and will bring either of my cars back to them if/ when the situation arises.

Disappointed. I called the Kingston store and specifically asked what it would cost to change the oil in a 2012 Honda Fit. I was told it would be $24.95Or $34.95 for the delux package. I was surprised at the low cost but Joe assured me that’s what the charge would be. When I arrived the following day, the charge had increased to 69.99. He said he had quoted me the $24.95 in error. He gave me a $10 coupon and rotated the tires gratis which was nice, but I still felt taken advantage of.I was also given, at the end, a list of things wrong with the car that needed to be taken care of and what the charge would be. I went for an oil change. I didn’t come for a tire rotation, or a 90,0000 mile service. I felt as if this entire process is a racket to make money from added services that may or may not be needed. It didn’t feel good and I won’t be returning.

We had a really great experience with these guys. We were in from out of town, and didn’t know what to expect when we needed a fairly comprehensive brake job on an older Acura. Joe was able to get our parts and complete the work in a couple hours. And he also provided a free loner car which allowed us to see a friend and BBQ, rather than sitting in the waiting room with our 15 month old boy...a very different experience indeed. Thanks guys!!

Overall experience was positive

They where very concerned about the safety and well-being of my ordeal with my vehicle, that I was just going to get a oil change and brake replacement. Their diagnostic helped me so much, and even though the results where shocking, they helped me deal with the incredible stress and make sure what I could afford was what I need to handle immediately.This in the midst of having to help a friend move from Albany, they allowed me to use one of their vehicles to carry out what I had to get done. They truly helped me out.

Staff was really friendly and the mechanic was informative and knowledgeable. Work was done fast and efficiently. I’ll definitely be making an appointment again in the near future for other services.

I relied on other positive reviews when I chose this Kingston Meineke to get a quote on my brakes, and I feel like I couldnt have gotten luckier. Such a great group of guys, truly. I was suspicious that my car would already need brakes at 18k and they actually let me look at the pads on the car, I could see where the sensor was and why it was going off, this was unlike any other repair shop in my 20+ years of navigating car repair. The last time I needed brakes it was in Brooklyn, it was 2x the price and a guy showed me some dirty worn pads when he gave me the bill and said see how bad they were! Joe and his team (again, couldnt have been a nicer team) are trust worthy, fair, and reasonably priced. Im glad I found them and was able to get my brakes fixed the same day without a wait.

Be aware: they charge 120$ an hour for labor. The people are very nice and were very good about Covid safety measures. But just be aware of these costs. 700$ for brakes on a 2016 Kia Soul and that’s after a “discount” from meineke. 120$ for a new cabin air filter. I don’t have much experience in this arena with pricing from competitors, but if you’re trying to get an idea on pricing I hope this helps you.

I would highly recommend Katie and her team at Meineke. I heard a loud noise coming from my rear tire on a Friday night and was nervous due to the fact that most shops are closed on weekends. I made an online appointment for Sat afternoon. Katie called me about a half hour after dropping off my car to tell me they found the issue and would order the part and have me done by Sunday afternoon (yes theyre open on Sundays!) and even offered to give me a ride home. Work was done exactly when they said it would be and at a very reasonable price. Will definitely be a returning customer!

Very helpful and honest - didnt perform work that wasnt needed.

Making appointment was easy on line.service was performed as requested. Disappointed that there wasnt better follow up. Appently there was a back up light out. No big deal would have gladly had it repaired,bulb replaced if they told me, called me,or emailed me, or texted.you get the point. Communication was lax. They never called to say job was completed and I called 4 hours later to confirm pick up. Credit card was given upon brake pads inspection. At 10:30 am for a 9 am appointment which we left our car over night,so it was ready to have service.

The people at Meineke are always courteous and professional. They dont try to give you something you dont need. After going to other places before I will not go to anyone else to take care of my car.

The meineke in Kingston is the only place other than a dealer that I trust working on my car. They always own up to their mistakes like when I was getting my summer tires put on they put one on backwards ( I have directional tires). Brought the car in and they fixed it immediately. Couldn’t be happier with the people at meineke and I highly recommend them for anyone who doesn’t want to pay annoying dealership prices!

Great first experience. I brought the car in for a brake inspection because they were making some random noises and I thought I needed to get the pads changed out. It turned out I didnt need any work done. It is very nice to have that feeling to be able to trust your car mechanic I will definitely be back.
