Wow what a terrible experience! Definitely would not recommend shopping here.We ordered vinyl flooring for our basement in early July and we were told that it would be in by August which is completely understandable. The end of August came and went with no flooring. After calling our salesperson we were told now to expect everything by the end of September. Mid September we received a phone call stating that our flooring had arrived. We went to pickup everything and it was the wrong flooring! Wrong color, wrong style, and wrong manufacturer! After speaking with the manager, he found that our flooring was discontinued and blamed the manufacturer for shipping the wrong flooring. Avalon apparently doesn’t check for accuracy when receiving goods. Pretty crazy. He asked if we wanted to take the wrong flooring home and try it out. No way considering it wasn’t even close to what we had ordered. He then said that they would look into a solution and get back to us the following Monday. I had to call at the end of the day because of course no one called. We found out the following day that there was nothing they could do and we canceled our order.

So, I have been looking for a rug for my fireplace room for literally two years. I finally went to Avalon carpet and I think Benjamin maybe took 10 minutes to absolutely nail it perfectly with a rug!! If only I had known two years ago of his expertise 😂

Fantastic customer service! Our special order tile was not going to arrive in time for our remodel, so I headed over the King of Prussia location to sort it out. Not only did Ben open the doors early for me (I arrived 15 minutes before opening), he worked non stop until I had everything I needed for our project. Cannot say enough good things about my experience. Thank you, Ben!!

Stopped in today just to look around as didn’t have appointment and didn’t even know Avalon was in the area. I’m originally from the Cherry Hill area and used Avalon for all my hardwoods and bathrooms in NJ. The selection is extensive and then I met Stephanie Montoya! Stephanie was kind, personable, and helpful. I ended up having my whole bathroom picked out in an hour! Will let you know how the project turns out but coming back to Stephanie when I need new carpets! Thank you Stephanie, you made my day!

I had the worst customer service experience from the King of Prussia store! Ordered custom runners, was called to let me know they were ready for pick up, went to pick up only to be told they were in Cherry Hill. I was then told they would be sent over that night. Called today and again, runners are still in Cherry Hill. The store manager did not even apologize or offer a solution to remedy the situation!!! I asked them to ship it or refund me. Let’s see what happens

As a contractor, I can say that this is the place one should get their flooring. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and they truly have a huge selection of in-stock items. The pricing for their flooring may be a bit higher than some stores, but as the saying goes.... you get what you pay for.

We recently renovated our kitchen and spent 10k+ on new hardwood (just for the product, not including install etc) at Avalon that we installed end of August 2019 - Our sales experience was perfectly fine, however 2/3 months after installing the floor we started to notice the finish chipping and wearing off of the floor. It quickly got progressively worse and now the finish is worn off the edges of the wood as well as noticeable chips of the finish are missing in several spots.We purchased an engineered hardwood in Navy Blue - MYSTIQUE AA811, Color number 14002 and SHAW is the manufacturer. This was a “new product” for them but it fit my vision for this project perfectly and i was SO excited about it.We called Avalon and we filed a claim. We were contacted by Melissa who was extremely friendly and helpful and was going to help us through this process.Shaw sent a “third party” inspector to our home who concluded that we have low humidity in our home (this is inaccurate) — We have a 5600 square foot home that is hardwood flooring throughout the ENTIRE home and not once in FIVE YEARS have we had any issue with any other room in our home, damage, finish missing or even scratches to our floors.The inspector also claimed that “flooring should have been installed after cabinets to prevent damage”Anyone can google to find the answer to that question — floors that are nailed (or glued) should be installed BEFORE the cabinets and floors that are floated should be done AFTER the cabinets.”The conclusion was the manufacturer would send us “12 stain pens” so we could paint the floor of our kitchen to hide the fact that the finish is worn off the floor 3 months after installing it.I’m appalled at the response and lack of responsibility taken for a product that shouldn’t be on the market. The time and effort and expense we put into this major renovation only to be left with ripping 900 sf of flooring out is unacceptable. Things happen and I would have had a lot more respect for a company like Avalon had they stood behind the products they put on their floor.We had purchased tile and other products from Avalon in the past without any issue but after this I will NEVER go back there and will NEVER let anyone I know purchase from them either. Completely sick over this.

Came here looking for hardwood floors to remodel my dump of a house. I’ve never had hardwood floors before so naturally I had a billion questions. Luckily for me I met with Carly. Boy howdy, what a terrific lady! She was sharp, friendly, and happily answered all my questions. Great selection of floors, knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended!!

This was the first time remodeling any part of my home so I was unsure and nervous. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with smiling faces! Beautiful show room with many selections and thanks to Nick’s help I couldn’t be happier with my choices. His customer service was excellent and he did everything to make sure I got exactly what I loved for the best price possible. We built our house 10 years ago, and used Avalon flooring for all of the tile, edging, carpet, and would we use in our house.Just recently we decided to finish the basement, and purchased all of our flooring there as well.Your staff is extremely helpful, their selection is vast, sometimes too fast, but they are always helpful in getting you what you need. Prices are competitive, and I really do think they are the right spot for most people to buy their floor

Went reluctantly to the floor room today to look at carpets for the whole house today. UGH! all I could think was how much money my wife was going to spend. Well, we were great by a great, friendly sales person by the name of Diane Deak. Not only did she relieve my anxiety, Diane sat with us for about an hour and sold us our carpet. I highly recommend Avalon Flooring. Diane treated us like we were her friends instead of a just a quick sale. Ask for Diane when you go to the showroom, you will NOT be disappointed!

Had the good fortune to cross paths with Carly Kizitaff at Avalon Floorings King of Prussia location who was instrumental in patiently guiding us through all of our tiling needs for three bathrooms, a mudroom and kitchen backsplash. Carly was a good listener, knowledgeable, incredibly responsive (both by email and phone) and kept us within our budget - just a great salesperson - cant say enough good things about her (and we are tough customers)!

Kenny in your King of Prussia store was fantastic. I’m typically indecisive and it takes me a while to put a design together. I told him my price range and what I had in mind and I was in and out within a half hour! Can’t wait to see it finished!

I ordered samples of tile and marble for my bathroom remodel. I followed up many times to find out if the samples arrived. No one could find them. They were supposedly re-ordered. I stopped in again and was told the samples were sent back because I did not pick them up. Who sends back samples without a call or email? I was in the store every week or emailed. I gave up. Fortunately, there is an over abundance of tile stores in the area. I purchased from another store with better customer service and follow up, and I will use that store for my kitchen remodel as well. Epic fail, Avalon.

It has been our great pleasure to work with Betsey K, a design consultant in Avalon’s King of Prussia store. We had to completely re-design a bathroom because of water damage, and do it on a very tight schedule. A first time experience for us. Betsey went the extra mile to take us through just the right number of options in terms of tile colors, size, and accessories, got us a sample to take home, and made some especially helpful suggestions (e.g., perhaps a decorative element in the shower, a heated floor rather than replacing a baseboard heater). We started working with Betsey four weeks ago, made our final decisions two weeks ago, work begins next week.

I dont often post reviews and when I do, I rarely award 5 stars. My wife and I were in the midst of shopping for new hardwood flooring for our forever home (1500 sq feet worth of wood) and I happened upon the store by accident, while needing to hit the UPS store in the same plaza. I figured, what the heck, lets take a look here. I was promptly greeted by John Sprowles. Insight into my background. I had a 14 year career in retail management and the last 12 in outside sales. I have to say, I would have this guy work for me in a heartbeat. Knowledgeable, consultative, attentive, and friendly. No pressure, but still, a professional salesperson. I went home and dragged my wife in the next day. She loved the guy. We were discriminating customers and had reluctantly decided on wood we saw elsewhere. John was happy for us, we finally found something we loved. He asked for one last shot and I showed him what we decided on. He was able to search their database and order the same product at a lower price. TJ was the estimator that came to our home. Another ultimate professional. He measured and did not leave until every question of ours was patiently answered. After we started reciting movie quotes at each other, I wanted to offer him a beer and hang out, but it was 10am. The timeline for the install was quicker than even John prepped us for and the installers were master craftsman. Jonathan and his father Tom were neat, courteous, and efficient. They were done in only 3 days, we were originally told possibly 4 or 5. This is a big deal because your house is really turned upside down during a big install like ours. Anyway, we were thrilled with our experience at Avalon Flooring.

Avalon Flooring ROCKS as I had an incredible positive customer buying experience. My finished game-room was completely flooded due to an old cranky hot water heater and as a result, I had to replace the entire flooring in multiple rooms. I spent quite of few hours with Greg Kirkwood, Avalon’s Sales & Design Consultant who was so professional, knowledgeable and so patient with me. As a direct result of his tireless efforts, I now have a completed finished game room/man cave that looks even better than before as Greg help me select the right product that looks amazing. It was quite impressive to see someone like Greg who demonstrated in action that he truly cares about his customer.

I didnt end up purchasing through Avalon but their customer service was very good. They walked me through the different flooring options and materials and priced out estimates based on the blueprints I had available.It turns out my contractor had a guy that he liked to work with and the prices were a little less on the carpet but even on the wood.

I have had very good experiences with the sales people and one of the installation managers. However, the management (Ed Quinn) does not emphasize customer service. They require 3/4 payment for work upfront. If there is an issue, if you get the right install manager, youll be ok, if not, good luck. After having several jobs done by them, Im looking elsewhere. As an example, the installer showed up 2 hours after the install window time frame provided without explanation. The installers assistant did not put down a tarp to protect my floor until after it was filthy. The installer asked me a question that caused me to seriously doubt his competence. When I asked that someone go to check on his work, they told me they would but never did. I asked to see by photo, the type of transition they intended to install, they said they would send but never did. They just installed a transition they chose and I never saw. Dont waste your time with these people.

I bought a cork floor from them in 2015 for my kitchen, and I was very clear it was for a kitchen when I purchased. It has been a mess from the get go - I actually contacted them 2 weeks after install to say it already looked beat up and had damage (answer - we are too hard on the floor. After two weeks). I went back and counted 14 times I emailed them, phoned them a bunch more and it is still unresolved 3 years later. They have blamed my kids. They told me to put rugs down in my kitchen to protect the floor. They mailed me a brown magic marker to fill in all the scratches. They told me I cannot use water to clean the floor ever. Their final solution: have a new floor at a deep discount (which is really only 1$ less per square foot of the normal price - so another $1200 plus install for a VINYL FLOOR) to replace it. So I flushed almost 3k down the toilet and now I can spend the same to replace it! Hey thanks! They have been nice but will ultimately not make this situation right. They clearly misguided me on the appropriate floor but it is definitely my problem alone. How about standing by your products and recommendations Avalon?

This place knows their stuff, and understands good customer service. Im shopping here. Wish I had seen this place before I did some of my other projects.Update Oct 2018, they arent doing as well with the customer service anymore. Were glad we have finished major projects that need avalon, because weve grown to dislike them, especially since they have forgotten how to listen.

Went to the KOP location around 3pm in the middle of March. I made eye contact with 4 employees who were behind the desk. I was carrying a 12 x 12 inch tile. I began looking for tiles to coordinate with my floor tile. I was in the store for 30 minutes and was never once greeted or approached by any staff member. One employee walked next to me 4 times putting up tiles as close as 1 -2 feet away from me and never once said hello. Another employee made eye contact once he was finished with his customer and then put away tiles but never came to help. Finally left. I called and left a message with Dominique the store manager. She called later and left a voice mail. I called her back and relayed my experience in the KOP store. She never returned my voice mail to follow-up, apologize or offer any explanation. I purchased my tiles elsewhere and will not be back.

Had a HORRIBLE experience at Avalon in King of Prussia. Our sales assistant MELISSA helped us pick out tile on a Tuesday night and garunteed it would be in by Friday... we’ll it’s Monday and now our tile that was supposed to be here days ago is on back-order. (This is AFTER we went through great lengths to make sure the tile was available and not on back-order) This place is a joke! Not only are their sales people completely undependable but their management did nothing to remedy the situation. Save your frustrations and time and go somewhere...ANYWHERE else!

Terrible terrible customer service especially the sales people. I dealt with one of the sales agent ordered 10k worth of materials. Also ordered the hunter Douglas blinds from them, waited 30 days for them to send out people to install the blinds. 4 of the blinds had wrong measurements and 1 was damaged. Two door blinds had wrong head rails. The installer installed the blinds because he feel bad to leave 5 windows and two doors clear. The guy was at my house on 5/10/17 I called the store to see when is the fastest they could come to fix my windows. Spoke to a lady she told me the store Manager will call me no reply from the agent or store Manager. I went to the store couple days later store Manager is not there. Spoke to my sales agent. He said he will try to resolve. Meanwhile will send out someone to fix the one blind that was damaged. I have not receive a phone call about my blinds or any updates as to what happen. Today is 6/17/17. Waited one month and a week no apology, no explanation, nothing. The worst experience ever. Would never ever go back to this store.

Went in today to pick tile and grout for a backsplash. Had no idea where to start/what I was doing. Ryan Liddle came over, and within minutes had basically answered all of our questions, and helped us pick everything we would need. Couldn’t be happier with the experience, or the service. Will probably redo my floors eventually, and Ryan will be my first call, if he hasn’t been promoted by then!

The only thing Avalon has going for them are a few (and I do mean few) decent sales people: Tom Bloh (in KOP) is responsive and knowledgeable, but thats where it ends. Forget the installation department and the subs that they use for installation, a totally bunch of zeros. Had to have the kitchen tile back splash installer return 3 times and its still not great at all. Excuses galore from Ed Quinn in the Avalon installation dept who after 3 1/2 days finally called back, only to tell me that they return phone calls within 24-48 hrs. I guess someone needs to teach Ed how to tell time. More excuses that they are busy and didnt have time to call back, ( a customer with a problem). Contracted back in mid May and now early August, still fighting with them over poor workmanship. Our mistake to use Avalon, and do not recommend them at all. Do yourself a favor and shop around and find a local shop who knows how to properly deal with customers and do an install right the 1st time. Avalon doesnt care, heed the warning and other reviews!!

Bright and open showroom with lots and lots of samples of every kind of carpet, vinyl, hardword and tile. Jason was a huge help, and left us alone when we just needed to browse our options.

Ok, ready for this...my experience is going to seem like a joke, but, it is my experience at Avalon Flooring. We went to Avalon Flooring & Tile in King of Prussia because our general contractor recommended them. Here is my experience thus far...Saturday, Day 1- Go into the store and pick out Subway Tile for Kitchen Backsplash, Grout and a 5x8 Indoor/Outdoor Rug for under our Kitchen table. We spent an extensive amount of time picking these out. We selected a rug by Capel; White Wicker with a Green paisley border. We paid and left. My husband drove to NJ on Monday to pick up the tile so our contractor could install it on Monday. All fine at this point. Tile is nice and works. Our contractor asks why we bought the $30 grout instead of the $7 grout. I tell him we jus thought grout. There was no mention of there being several to choose from, we were not given an option.Tuesday, Day 2- I went into the store to find out when our rug would be in and to order a 9x12 rug for our living room. Spoke to the manager. Discovered on this day there was NO record of our 5x8 rug ever being ordered on Saturday. Even though we specifically had the sales person pull the rug down and we showed him which pattern we wanted on the border (which was not the same border as the rug sample in the store). Ok, so now I have to order the rug again... time lost.I speak with the manager, he kindly offers a 10% discount. Ok, thank you, I just want my rugs. We have all new hardwood floors that I want protected. I show the manager the rug in the store that we want but we want a different border... we want White Wicker with a Green paisley pattern, I show him the pattern border we want (which is a swatch on their block of patterns). He apologizes profusely for the rug not getting ordered on Saturday. Thank you, but, I just want my rug. He tells me the pads are in store and I can pay and pick them up when I pick up my rugs... I say No thank you. I want to pay for these now, to ensure I will have them when I pick up my rugs. He says he will order this rug, and I give him the info on the 9x12 rug as well. I pay for the rugs and off I go.A week later, Day 3: I call to find out when my rugs will be in and am told the 5x8 rug is in. Sales person proceeds to tell me they didnt order this rug, that it is hanging in their store and they are giving me that one. I am confused... the rug in their store isnt even the correct damn pattern on the border! Ok, now I am really getting angry!! He apologizes and tells me he will order the rug! He also tells me they dont have any more pads as they were really busy and sold out. Ugh! Really??A few days later, Day 4: I stop in the store to make sure the correct rugs are on order, etc. All appears to be okay.Another week goes by, Day 5: I call and my 5x8 rug is in. I pick it up, get it home and it has a double pattern border. The outer pattern is the pattern I selected, however, it has a second border on the inside that is a completely different color. Where the heck did this second pattern border come from???? I am going out of my mind. Really? I mean really? Is it that difficult to order a rug????Now I called the store and no one seems to want to speak with me. Apparently they are delivering my 9x12 rug on Tuesday. I will keep you posted on the situation. As you can tell, dealing with Avalon Flooring & Tile has been extremely frustrating. No one seems to know what the heck they are doing. No one is accountable.
