My buying experience this summer at Cunningham Piano has been the best. I had wanted a new Yamaha piano for a very long time and when I finally decided to proceed, Cunningham’s reputation led me to choose them as the dealer. Also, I was impressed with their professional online videos in which they share their knowledge with the rest of the world. The sales rep who helped me, Keith Keeler, has been great to work with and has made everything happen well from beginning to end. I would also like to compliment the movers, who took great care to get the piano into the house safely and situated just right. My thanks to Keith and the entire staff for a really nice job. Highly recommended!

Hugh Sung and the Cunningham team are knowledgeable, talented, and incredibly responsive to the needs of each of their customers. I have to give a HUGE shout out to Nina, one of their sales staff, for her gentle guidance into piano buying and encouragement to try out the pianos on display. I felt like the store wasn’t just selling musical instruments but rather a package of beautiful memories associated with pianos. Conversations with her definitely made me go back to my old days of playing the piano and reignited the passion I had for music. I would give her and the team 6 stars if I could 🎼🎵❤️

Went in to buy a refurbished piano and after about 1/2 hour decided on a beautiful Cunningham Parlour Piano. Its being delivered on Wednesday and will write another review after I wipe the drool off it. Great sales team, extremely knowledgeable and even let me play the pianos (ha-ha)! Couldnt have been treated any better. I was so enchanted by the sound that I couldnt even think about trying to bargain the price down. Cant wait to get it!! I may even sign up for Hugh Songs online lessons if he thinks a 73 year old can hone his skills.

Everyone we interacted with at Cunningham Piano was really easy to work with and super helpful. Tim Oliver, specifically, was very generous with his time. Tim helped my family as we evaluated several pianos, answering questions, offering helpful insights, and even playing multiple pianos for us to allow us to listen and hear the subtle differences among them. We were very pleased with our purchase and with the whole experience!

Hugh Sung of Cunningham Piano made my recent purchase of an acoustic Yamaha piano an experience of pure joy. I began studying piano four years ago at the age of 70. While I wanted an acoustic piano I mentioned to Hugh that I dont know if I deserve a piano of this quality given where I am in my piano studies. His response: By having a quality instrument you will reach YOUR greatest potential. SOLD....Hugh was and continues to be personable, knowledgeable and accommodating. He continues to be immediately responsive to any questions or requests.I reside in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I always try to buy local so when I considered purchasing a new piano, I went to our local independent piano store. The salesman was not a pianist, he was a drummer, and he was not personable or knowledgeable.Hugh quoted me a better price than our local piano store. I asked if they could meet it and they pretty much did. Yet, I chose to purchase from Cunningham Piano because I felt understood and appreciated as a customer.A local piano-broker friend told me Cunningham Piano has been around a while and they have an excellent reputation. While Cunningham is not local in the area I live; they are a local business in their New Jersey and Pennsylvania stores.

My first contact with Cunningham Piano was over twenty years ago. Rich spent most the day with me showing the grand pianos and the facility. I ourchased a grand piano at a price no one else could match. Delivery of the piano was done by professionals and Rich arranged for several tunings after the delivery. Couldnt ask for better service anywhere. But this relationship did not end with the sale as Rich and I became close friends over the years even though we live hundreds of mile apart. He has provided me with a lot of information over the years whenever I call. What else could one want from a business.

The piano is so gorgeous pictures dont do it justice. I went into the store thinking I wanted a shiny black baby grand and walked out a mahogany-convert. It is nothing like the lackluster look that I had in mind, but a deep, rich, red color, with wood grain you can see. Every bit as shiny but with more character. You really gotta go there in person to check it out. I tried out the baby grand (50) as well as the studio (54) and the parlor(510) grand. I ended up choosing the parlor. Each piano has a different touch/sound and you can really feel the difference on your fingertip. The baby grand is a very nice piano for the look and the sound, but the parlor plays like a concert piano - so much that the keyboard feel makes me a little nervous playing because it reminds me of all those childhood recitals and competitions. Ive compared Cunningham pianos with similar price range Yamaha piano, and for the same price range its just not even close. If youre in the greater Philadelphia area, get the Cunningham. I didnt think I should shop for piano like I would shop for fruits, but buying local saves you a lot. You get to own a handmade, one-of-a-kind, absolutely beautiful piano for a very reasonable price. This is the best piece of furniture I have in my new home. I cant say enough good things about it.

We recently moved our grand piano from Naples Florida to Philadelphia. When the movers arrived and unwrapped the piano, it looked like it had been in a train wreck. We were broken-hearted. We called Cunningham Piano Company hoping they could give us some advice. That is how we met Hugh Sung. When we told him what happened he assured us everything was going to be okay. Then he sprung into action . Our piano was picked up a day later and taken to their factory for an evaluation and assessment of the damages. He then prepared a detailed report complete with pictures, which we could send along with our claim. He also provided a baby grand piano so we would not be without an instrument while ours was in the shop! Our treasured piano is now back and looks and plays like brand new! A heartfelt THANK YOU to Hugh and all of you at Cunningham Piano Company for making an almost unbearable situation bearable and stress free! YOU ARE THE BEST!!Dorr and Kimberly Warner

I started working with Cunningham Piano in 1998. I was very interested in the piano upgrade program at the time. Since then, I have purchased 3 pianos through Cunningham. My most recent piano, a Mason & Hamlin, went into service this past week. It really needed some help technically. The Cunningham team was so attentive, informative, and assured me they would evaluate and address the technical needs of the instrument with the utmost care. I didnt doubt this. My piano is back in my possession and performs beautifully. I fully endorse Cunningham Piano if you are considering a new or used purchase, service and or tuning. I am the proud owner of a Yamaha Disklavier Enspire Piano purchased locally in San Diego in mid December 2019. It is a beyond amazing piano and my wife and I have enjoyed it immensely this past year. When we got it we looked forward to using it to entertain friends and family but the pandemic kept us from doing so except on a few rare occasions. When I purchased it I also upgraded my home entertainment system with a very nice Bose Lifestyle 650 system and a new 55 LG TV to take advantage of the wonderful simultaneous video/audio/live piano feature. Unfortunately I spent untold hours of my and the technicians from both the piano store where I purchased the piano and the electronic store where I purchased the entertainment system attempting to enable the simultaneous Disclavier TV functionality but eventually gave up sadly believing it just wasnt meant to be. This was so disappointing. I was so taken with the in store demonstration when I purchased the piano.Fast approximately about 16 months to yesterday. I decided to try again and on searching online and Youtube for possible solutions I ran across a wonderful video by Hugh Sung with Cunningham Pianos in the King of Prussia, Pa and though the video didnt exactly cover my specific issue I could see it was on the right track. To make an already too long a story a little shorter, I called the store and Hugh Sung himself answered the phone! Hugh took great interest in my dilemma and spent about an hour on the phone with me until we successfully achieved the so long awaited result. WHALAA!! If that isnt a fine example of his and Cunningham Pianos good will and expertise I dont know what is. I am so grateful to you Hugh!

Cunningham Piano was tremendously helpful in getting the Yamaha keyboard that I was looking for, at a time when no retailers seemed to be able to get one. In the midst of the pandemic, my child claimed their Clavinova, and I was left without a quality keyboard to play. Having decided on what I wanted (the Yamaha P515 -- and the staff at Cunningham were helpful with comparing that to others available, as well), they worked out an arrangement that helped me with an interim keyboard and assured me I would be able to get the P515 as soon as they were available again. I recently bought a new Yamaha YUS-5 from Cunningham. Had a really great experience from beginning to end!I was helped by Nina, who showed me a ton of different models in the King of Prussia showroom. She was very patient, answering all of my questions and letting me take a lot of time to try each one. After my initial visit to the showroom, I went to the factory in Germantown on a Saturday morning to try out three different vertical pianos that I was considering, side by side. Nina gave me some privacy so I could really take some time playing each one, without being embarrassed by mistakes in my playing or feeling pressured to make a decision. This really helped! I noticed a lot of differences in the feeling and tone of each piano. Being able to play each piano in the same room without any interruptions made it much easier to evaluate each one.I also got a quick tour of the factory. It was fascinating to see the pianos that were being reconditioned. Nina also let me try out a really incredible 9 ft grand piano, just for fun. That was a real treat - Ive never played a more amazing instrument (and probably never will)Before deciding on a piano I did a lot of research on prices. I read Larry Fines Piano Book and tried to get a sense of fair prices on the PianoBuyer website. I was expecting to have to bargain a bit, but the price that I was initially offered was actually well within reason, at least based on the advice I had seen. The delivery was timely and went smoothly, and I have my first tuning scheduled. Im really enjoying having an actual piano, having played a digital for the past few years. I dont like paying retail for anything. Its like an obsession with me. GET THE BEST DEAL.I didnt believe that that was possible through a company the size of Cunningham. I was wrong. A company like Cunningham, actually Cunningham as a company, has an amazing reputation in the area. Every pianist I spoke to, every church musician, every college educator, said that Cunningham is the only place to go for excellence and customer service. I also learned that their factory work on rehabilitated pianos is the best in the area. I have two friends who work for this company and they both say the family values there are real. Its a family owned company and they treat their customers right. It didnt hurt that a dear old friend from conservatory days was the person who showed me my gorgeous piano and worked very hard to make it affordable for us. NO ONE, AND I MEAN NO ONE SHOULD EVER LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE TO BUY A PIANO. I just bought my second piano from Cunningham. My first was in February of 2001. It was a restored 1922 M&H model A grand. This was before the shop in King of Prussia so I travelled to Germantown. I wound up there after going to 4 other piano shops. When I walked into the factory that first time, everyone was congenial, professional, respectful, and they allowed me to play pianos without any sales pressure at all. Rich and Tim are the epitome of gentlemen with a vast amount of knowledge about pianos. There was NEVER any pressure to buy one piano over the other. They allowed me to find the piano, and I did. Ever since that experience, I vowed to never go anywhere else. Fast forward almost 18 years, and I am in the process of moving and needed to downgrade from a grand to an upright. The M&H also needed a lot of repairs due to humidity issues. No ones fault but my own. This time I visited the showroom in King of Prussia. Hugh Sung was the first to greet me followed by Rich. Rich of course remembered me. I told them all that was going on in my life and with the piano. It was like talking to relatives. They patiently listened to my distress over having to get rid of the M&H and how much I loved it. So much was happening in my life (job reassignment and divorce at the same time), not having my piano as an outlet was just another change that would be difficult to face. To replace the piano would be difficult. The M&H has a bass like no other and it is a much mellower sound that I like so much. I played a couple of Yamaha uprights - beautiful piano; however, the tonal palate wasnt there for me. I played a couple of rebuilt uprights. The one that came the closest to what I wanted was a 1904 Steinway model V. However, I kept avoiding it as I felt it was too self-indulgent. I left the store with a lot to think about. I came back home and for the next week I did a lot of reading, research, watching youtube videos, etc. I had the Larry Fine book from 2001 and now went to his piano buyers website. I figured it out. Since I dont know where Im going to live and that I have this humidity issue in a 96 year old house, Im going to look at the Yamaha hybrid pianos. Great reviews on the NU1X and the N3X. Small footprint, acoustic action, digital sampling which sounded amazing when watching youtube videos. I emailed Rich and told him that Id come back down and wanted to speak with Hugh and him. We had an appointment set around 4pm on Tuesday 1/8/19. When I arrived, Rich was having the Yamaha YUS5 tuned for me. I told Rich about where I was headed for a piano. He had me play the YUS5. Lovely piano but it just didnt cut it for me. I needed that bass and less brightness. Hugh then arrived. I had him play the hybrids. The bass was there; however, the digitalization of the sound and the way the speakers were arranged made my ears ring and gave me quite a headache. My hearing is very sensitive so there is no way I could play them. I would wind up hating it. Hugh knew the piano I would be most happy with. He brought me back to the Steinway. Yes, he was correct, but I couldnt see myself spending the money without feeling selfish and having buyers remorse. He then asked me if I felt that way when I bought the M&H and how many hours of pleasure did the piano bring me. I said no, and thousands. One cannot put a price on the joy a piano brings. It doesnt matter if its a small piano to get started or a huge grand. If it brings you joy, that is all that matters. As with my first purchase, Rich worked with me on the price and the financing. The piano is definitely being installed with a dampp-chaser system, which I would highly recommend for any acoustic piano. I never expected to be buying that Steinway; however, just like the first time, I never expected to buy the M&H. Cunningham allowed the piano to find me and I will always be grateful to them for that. I feel excited and passionate about playing again.
