A nice LGBT friendly restaurant with a great ambiance. Has indoor and outdoor seating as well as bar seating. We stopped by because we saw they had Bombay East gin which is a decent gin compared to what we’ve come across. Our waiter was awesome. Very attentive and friendly. We will say that the food is a bit steep for the portions and for what it was however what we did have was tasty minus the stale chips for the fish dip. ( I’m sure it’s hard to keep them hard due to the humidity ) We weren’t too hungry so we did not get much, mostly game for the gin.Not sure if we would go back but could be fun to go to the Drag Brunch we heard about some time.
We sat inside to give our parents a break from the heat. We had looked at the menu posted on the street and were excited to see several items that approved to each of us.The service was good, nothing over the top but friendly and prompt. The food was pretty good all around. I would have given 5 stars if not for the stale, hard to chew fried onions on my Pulled Pork sandwich. Other than that, the sandwich was quite good, I liked the BBQ sauce. The cross cut sweet potatoes fries were ok, but I think I prefer traditional fry shape for those. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and yucca fries. Hes had a Cuban at several places this week and says this one was the best due to balance and proportion of pulled pork to ham, as well as overall flavor. Weve never tried yucca fries before, so we didnt know what to expect. They are much like regular potato fries but a little sweeter flavor (but not as sweet as sweet potatoes).Dad tried the conch fritters and liked them better than the straight fried conch we had earlier in the week. Mom liked her Baja Fish tacos well enough to eat all 3 and every last sweet potato fry - though that might be influenced by how much walking wed been doing around town working up an appetite!
We dropped into this place for a bite of lunch. A long standing favorite in Key West, Mangoes is conveniently located at Duval St and Angela St and it also has plenty of seating inside and out. The bar is also cool in the shade but still outside. We sat on the back patio kind of behind the bar. Its very nice as they have fans to keep the humid air moving around. Service was good and the white wine was cold and reasonably priced. Our server was friendly and other staff seemed busy and well organized. Service was fairly quick and the food was good. We had the conch fritters as an appetizer and they were surprisingly good. For our entrees we had the crab cakes and crispy grouper sandwich. Both were well prepared and tasted great.Well be going back on our next visit.Urban CowgillMay 2021
We really enjoyed Mangoes. We got in quickly and got to sit in their air conditioned dining room. The dining room is rather a slapped together room with sliding glass doors but it is cool enough to help beat the heat. The service and food were both great. The yellowtail dish was very good. I would go back!
We went to Mangoes for lunch. Our waitress Merryl was very sweet and attentive. The outdoor seating area was nice. We ordered the crab cake appetizer (only two small balls) lobster mac and cheese and the Cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries. Both were very good. Drink and food prices were a bit high for what you got but it is a tourist area. The lobster mac & cheese (in a soup crock) was very cheesy and tasty. The Cuban sandwich although not a very large portion was very good.Would go back but not first choice.
Came here with my family to eat lunch and will never go back due to the horrible customer service. This place literally had all of 10 people in the entire restaurant. The hostess Maximo tried to seat us in the very back at an ant infested table. After we requested to sit in the front due to the state of table and also because we wanted to see the view of the street, the manager Carlos told us we could not sit in the front and that big parties had to sit in the back. We then asked if we could break up the party and sit at different tables, he said no. Was not accommodating at all. Once we said we were leaving he shrugged us off nonchalantly. Cant help but to think his treatment towards us was racially motivated, but at the end of the day his loss. We walked right over to Pinchers and had A GREAT LUNCH, and was welcomed by a kind staff. Take notes Mangoes!
Kind bartenders and good service! Stopped by for happy hour drinks on a Friday night. There was live music and a fun outdoor atmosphere. Pricey, but its Key West so youll find that alot there!
Duval’s street was lively amidst pandemic. Wanted to try something different cuisine. Looking at yelp, we saw several menu but menu was different for dinner. Their cocktail option was nice too. We went for light appetizer and drinks but live music was addition to our visit. The live singer was really cool and out server guy was nice too. Appetizers we tried were good too.
Jay is fabulous. Definitely ask for him as your server if you come here. Extremely accommodating and made our friends 30th birthday dinner a blast. Food was pricey but delicious and the atmosphere is also great outside. Highly recommend!
Mangoes was our first place to hang out on Duval Street and the place was not that busy on a Saturday afternoon at around 1 pm. They have a beautiful outdoor space/patio which is where we hung out. They also have a wonderful bar equipped with 2 TVs to watch sports. The staff here is very welcoming and friendly and Juan, Theo, and Martina took really good care of us while we were here 2 days in a row. We didnt try much of their food, but they have some really good food menu options as well. We did however try 1 of their starters which was a very delicious Chorizo Empanadas ($13). The Cumin Lime Crema was very tasty! More importantly their cocktails and ice cold draught beer was very refreshing to enjoy on the 2 really hot and humid days that we were on Duval St.They also have a fun Hook-me game by the tree in their patio which is a lot of fun! My 2 year old enjoyed spinning that one and there was enough space in the patio for him to run around.Overall, we had a very nice experience here and should we come back to Duval St again, wed definitely hangout at this place!
I chose this restaurant based on ratings on trip advisor and was very underwhelmed. Our reservation was early, because of the Old Dominion concert, so maybe the staff wasn’t geared up? The waiter wasn’t very attentive on refills and such until he brought our food. However, he was sitting with a colleague at the table behind us, helping her with her side work or something and chatting. We ordered conch fritters, which were ok, but we didn’t get any small plates to eat them on which seemed odd. We ordered empanadas to share with our main courses, which were good, but a lot smaller than I expected. We ordered the pineapple salad and a caesar with chicken in lieu of traditional entrees because the offerings weren’t all that interesting. The pineapple salad isn’t a traditional lettuce based salad and it comes in half a pineapple, which was a surprise, but kind of cool. I wish the shredded chicken that came with it had more flavor, same with the chicken that came on the caesar. We also shared key lime pie, which was the best part of the meal. Pretty disappointed we spent one of our dinners here on our week long trip.
Our family visited Mangoes twice, no excuse me, we attempted to go the second time. First visit was on a regular evening for dinner. This was suppoeedly a must go place to eat, but the food was far from delightful. For the amount of money we spent we expected 5* food in looks and taste. Unfortunately we were disappointed when our food arrived. We ordered the Paella, Lobster Mac, Yellowtail Snapper, and Churrisco Steak. The seafood with the paella was great, but the rice was the worst; overcooked, like a risotto. The rice with the yellowtail snapper tasted like box rice and was very unappealing. The lobster mac was like cafeteria macncheese with a few shreds of lobster. The portion sizes were also lacking. To pay $30+ per plate and get a salad plate portion is a joke. Our server was great and very kind, but the kitchen was super slow.On our second trip, we were basically shunned at the door with crazy expensive entry fees. We came for the drag brunch. 2 in our group had never been to a drag show and were quite excited to attend at Mangoes during pride, however we were bombarded at the door about not having a reservation (which was not listed as being needed online). When we arrived we were asked by the hostess if we had a reservation. We said no so she said we could stand at the bar and order drinks. Us: ok, great, no problem .. We head to the bar .. Stopped by a second hostess, asked if we had a reservation we said no, she walked away and before we could take another step a man (maybe a manager) asked if we had a reservation. Again we say no and then he says we need to pay the bartender $40/person for entry and then an additional $20/person for unlimited mimosas. We were stunned. After being attacked by every hostess and then slammed with a $60/person. All of which was not mentioned online. Only thing listed online was $40 for the after party (that started at 3, we arrived at 12:15), extremely decieving and a total let down during what is supposed be a time of peace, love and happiness. We would have happily paid full price for our drinks at the bar and support the queens performing. Its a shame to turn away paying customers and supporters of the LGBTQ community.
Great food and drinks with live music on the patio. The staff was awesome.
We had our August 6th rehearsal dinner and welcome cocktails at Mangoes and it was fabulous! Everything went so flawlessly and the banyan lounge private space was the perfect tropical oasis for our event. The guests were so impressed and everyone had a blast. The food was amazing, too!
Was there for a wedding reception. The happy couple booked the top floor. The A/C failed. They gave us the bottom floor. It was a bit rough since there was only room with A/C. The service and food were great. The only issue was that they didnt close the place and we had wedding crashers to throw out.
Great food, get the pork belly. Key lime pie is fantastic.
After reading many great reviews decided to give it a try. The server was polite but down to business. They only had one server waiting several tables when we arrived. We ordered the Conch Fritters, Cuban Sandwich, and the Fried Chicken Sandwich with fries as the side. The Fritters came out hot but had very little to no Conch meat in them and the ones that did, the Conch was like rubber. Also there was no flavor to them other than the batter. The Cuban Sandwich was not seasoned and was also bland. You expect a Cuban to have some heat, or at least spice, but this sandwich was lackluster. The Fried Chicken Sandwich was well, unseasoned chicken and they must have run out of the the Jalapeño Aoli because it had no seasoning either. The ONLY thing we had that were properly seasoned, the fries. They were perfectly done, crispy and seasoned with zest. Overall I say come here for the fries and the cocktails but spend your big bucks at one of the other eateries!
Went there because of their bloody mary bar but the mojito was much better.
We attended at wedding at this venue. They served seafood paella, watermelon feta salad, and Cesar salad. The rice was undercooked, which was honestly pathetic. The drinks were 10/10 the salads were 10/10, but they ran out quickly and the venue didn’t refill them. They also forgot an entire entree, there was supposed to be a beef/ chicken option. The bride didn’t stress about it, so that was good, but I hope they refund her!
Great atmosphere. We were her for dinner. Not many options but just enough. Food was amazing. Live band was great. Would go again.
Staff was extra accommodating making items off menu for our kids. The cocktails are some of the best we’ve had in key west. Only reason I didn’t give a 5 star, our food was undercooked, under seasoned, and on the expensive side for what you get. But for sure stop and have cocktails!
Consistently popular, this outdoor venue is very attentive to its patrons. We often stick with a salad of some sort with seafood. There may be more than one bartender in service; but, if not, you can rest assured that if there is only one then he or she is excellent, as was Chandra on our most recent visit. The bar area is first come first served. The main dining area may need a reservation on some nights. There is an area that is used for groups and is often booked. Walking past on Duval youll always notice an evening/night time crowd.
Nice atmosphere. Service good. Food better than you might suspect.
Very good food, super cute environment, but the pricing can get steep for the portions.
Excellent food and great atmosphere right on duval
Great food and service. Air conditioned dining if you want or patio if you prefer. Lobster Mac & Cheese was delish.
Great place. Food is delicious. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Try the tuna poke and if course the key lime pie.
Decent service, a Lil pricey but good.
Would give them a zero of possible. Waited 30 plus minutes for appetizers as part of our happy hour. They said they would take the charge for food off our ticket.......which we never received. So gracious of them. .....they did however charge us fu price for drinks.wow! Shouldve walked, more choices.
Made a last minute reservation here for the first night of our vacation and my boyfriend and I agreed it was the best dinner we had the whole trip! Best lobster Mac and cheese I have ever had in my life. My boyfriend, who isn’t really a Mac and cheese fan, loved it. 10/10!
Was at Mangoes for a wedding. Staff and management were great. Food and beverages excellent. We had an amazing time.
I just got married and we had the reception brunch here. They were so accommodating and amazing to us! Me and my husband have also eaten here before our wedding and they were so good! 10/10 would recommend!!!!
The restaurant has large windows that meld with indoor out door spaces giving you a feeling of eating under the branches of a mango tree. You can dine and drink whilst still enjoying the scene of Duvall Street. The food is a great mix of soups, salads and sandwiches all with the Key West flavor. The drinks also subscribe to this model with a great mix of beers and cocktails. Friendly, helpful waiting staff. Please tip generously for great service.
Great drinks and entertainment. Food was pretty much left on the plate. Mahi mahi sandwich was prob not mahi mahi. Dry and over cooked. There was no sauce on sandwich.fish tacoss dry a d no seasoning. . The short rib was tough but the slaw was great.
Mangoes has always been one of our favorite spots in Key West. Although its situated on Duval Street, its always been a bit more upscale. The food is delicious, service remarkable, and entertainment spot on. Lovely!
The food was beautiful and tasted wonderful. Service was great and everyone was friendly. Drag Brunch was fabulous. We cant wait to go back!
I love this place! Open air seating, big trees surrounding the tables and great service. The lobster Mac and cheese was SO good, huge chunks of lobster, great value. Our friends got the clams and said they were some of the best they had ever eaten. My husband got the chorizo empanadas and I got the taco salad. It was all such good food. Great wine selection and live music. We would definitely come back. My friend also said they had some of the smoothest tequila she had tasted.
Waited a long time for our table in the bar area to be cleaned. We had to ask twice. Food was overpriced. I had the smasburger that was extremely tasteless and overcooked. My husband had the fish tacos that had very little taste to them as well. Our food took 40 minutes and they were not busy. I feel that we wasted our time and money here. Wont come here again!
The place is well-organized and the food was to die for! I love this resto
Food was good, good price and came out quickly.
Food was okay, chicken sandwich was not good. Great location but wouldnt go back.
The food was delicious. The sloppy Joe BBQ pulled pork sandwich was great. Everyone was pleased with their meal.
Me and my wife had lunch at this place in Key West was very nice food was excellent and the waiter was really nice recommended.Roland WSlc. Utah
They had a good musicianMr Bootle who was well versed in a variety of songs. Especially 60-80s genre. Good service. Didn’t eat there
Went late afternoon for a drink. Had a couple apps- the lobsta mac n cheese was yum. Nice environment! I would like to go again
We were so disappointed with Mangoes. We bought tickets for a drag brunch in February (they were $20 at first and went up to $40 a week later when we purchased) and when we got there, they didn’t have a table for us. We sat in the back on a couch until finally someone left and we got a table. It was still so far away from the show we couldn’t really see. The website originally said free bottomless mimosas when I bought the tickets but they changed it and made us pay $20 extra for them. The menu was super limited (not a huge problem because of the event) but our food was just okay. Will not be going back, very dissatisfied.
The mojitos were good. And the service was great. Stopped in for happy hour but did really care for the happy hour drink specials. Ordered an appetizer, the conch sampler, and was disappointed. I had never had a conch fritters before and wanted to try it. The conch chowder was tasty, but I was not a fan of the fritter or ceviche. I’m not sure what all was in the ceviche, but a lot of red bell pepper, which I do not care for. Might try this place again, but would not get that. The place is beautiful, so there is that.
Great drag brunch and the food was so pretty and so delicious!
The place was deserted. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes and were ignored by the bartender. Its a good thing there are plenty of other restaurants around.
Bright and airy bar and restaurant with great live music and plenty of outdoor seating (both covered and uncovered). Very strong drinks, and a little more upscale than some of the other more divey bars on Duval. Will definitely return the next time Im in Key West!
Writing this as I just finished my birthday lunch here! You can’t go wrong with Mangoes! We got the mussels for an appetizer and for lunch we got the fritta burger and grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries....AMAZING!
Food was bad but the service was horrific. Beautiful spot but this venue brings nothing else to the table. I do not recomend eating here.
Good vibe and tv for sports. Music was good too. A little light on the alcohol.
Ordered what server recommended as their most popular dishes, the grouper sandwich and Cuban sandwich and it was not good. Grouper was over fried, had no taste and barely any fish. Cuban sandwich was just a ham sandwich, very bland. Lobster Mac was with nacho cheese and had very little lobster, especially considering the price. Kraft is better. Ambiance was nice and server was nice.
Mahi Mahi sandwich was great and the sweet potato waffle fries were pretty good. Had to wait a little longer than we expected but the food was solid. Def get the Conch fritters for an app and share before.
Just had drinks but they were good
Classy place clean. Nice staff good music
Service and atmosphere was alright. The food was not great to say the least. Personally I had the fish tacos and they were bad.
We ordered cocktails and several appetizers the mojitos, and mules were excellent. The calamari and fish dip were good the crab cakes were undercooked and lacked seasoning. One app never came but was on our bill. The service was poor. Our waiter brought drinks but never came back until our table was bussed so we didnt have a chance to tell him. He didnt bring out our food. He apologized afterwards.
The food was cooked perfectly but I personally found the flavor to be just slightly lacking. The other person in my party loved the steak. However, the service and ambience of the outdoor dining was very nice. They have overhead light strands with mangoes that is very pretty for a nighttime dinner.
Awesome bar service and drinks. The empanadas were amazing.
Bartender is amazing. Appetizers were good but entrees are over priced.
A little too sterile for my taste but the conch fritters were delicious.
The appetizers and drinks were amazing. We were seated right away and this is in the heart of Duval Street! My only complaint we arrived at 4:40 and were told we could not order dinner because the kitchen did not open until 5pm. I understand that prep takes time, but still 20 minutes, really? I would been happy to wait if they had offered it as an option.
The Cuban is a sad sorry tale of a sandwich that had American mustard and pickle medallions. The soggy bread created the most amazing texture similar to oatmeal you’ve eaten twice because you were hungover and had to hold it before finding a receptacle. The side salad was an award winner with its canned pineapple covering the lack of any flavor from a salad dressing. Service was fast, and friendly, but when you make a meal like this at your restaurant, people don’t need to wait in lines.
Great food. Indoor and outdoor dining. A little pricey but about average for the area. Good experience.
The drinks and atmosphere were great! Live music and great service.. will definitely go back! Try the mango margarita, super flavorful!
Nice, not much on atmosphere, quality dishes with prices that are par with the rest of Duvall street. Staff sells this location, fantastic service friendly and charming. Chefs special lobster pasta was very nice. Throughly enjoyed our stay.
We visited here during our vacation and we were blown away by the quality of the food and service! Everything on the menu was really good. The ambiance was really cool, perfect place to stop and order food while going up and down the shops on Duval. I passed by this place at least a dozen times before deciding to stop here and I am so glad that we did! I got a pulled chicken served in a pineapple that was amazing! My fiance got a wrap that was really good. We both got drinks as well as they were great! We are also working on planning our wedding and the event space upstairs is very unique. We are excited to have the chef cook for our guests considering everything that comes out of his kitchen is tastefully created and flavorful!
Wonderful evening (drinks / dinner / live music).
Our server was great and attentive. We were seated and the manager asked us to move tables to get the equipment out for then artist later that night, although we were done before it was even set up. The food was mediocre at best and the menu a bit limited.
Great food and drinks. Entertainment is fantastic
