Jimmy was such an amazing fit for our August wedding at the Southernmost Beach Resort. From beginning to end, he was fantastic. Super easy to communicate with. Booking and song choices (via his online form) were extremely simple and user friendly. At our actual event, he was phenomenal. He has a great announcing voice, everything was on time and his music choices kept our entire guest list on the dance floor all night! We had so many guests tell us how fabulous he was. Highly recommend.

Best DJ ever! He was always on it, attentive and makes sure everything is going right. As a bride, you don’t have to worry with DJ Jimmy. He also has an awesome questionnaire and makes your event playlist perfect. It was better than my husband and I imagined. I don’t dance, but his DJ skills got even me on the dance floor. He reads the crowd and plays what gets the most reactions. He takes requests and listens. He is observant, fun, amazing and made our wedding day so easy. He did our ceremony and dinner at Hyatt, and re-set up on the fury catamaran, he’s a pro and the best in the game. Seriously felt like a family member at our wedding. Book him if you can!

Joanna was fabulous! She showed up early to set up and was ready to go right on time. She made me feel comfortable throughout the event. We eloped so it was only my husband and myself at the wedding. We used Soundwave for our June wedding and it was so perfect! We were able to book them almost last minute and they were wonderful! Where do I even start?! Planning a wedding from far away is stressful enough, but planning a rescheduled wedding during a pandemic from far away might be the most stressful thing Ive yet to experience. If it werent for Jim and Joanna at SoundWave, the process wouldve been a nightmare. From rescheduling to rescheduling to rescheduling, they were SO easy and kind and nice to work with. They had the BEST attitudes and outlook on the situation and it was difficult to even feel upset about anything regarding the event. They are the definition of positivity! After the rescheduling was done, Joanna let us know about their video services, as we had only booked DJ services. We were very hesitant and had not wanted a wedding video, but after thinking on it, we hired Joanna for video. IT WAS THE BEST DECISION OF THE WEDDING (aside from having Jim DJ). Joanna was SO FUN and really made our day so exciting and delivered a preview and Instagram highlight in like seven days! I wouldve been thrilled if this was honestly the whole video - ITS THAT GOOD. Its entertaining and fun and everything that typical wedding videos usually arent.. its PERFECT! I cannot think of a single thing that wouldve made it better and Im just so excited to see what the full video turns out like. Joanna did our wedding video at the Reach 2 years ago. We still feel like it was some of the best money we spent. Joanna was so easy to work with, & produced a great product. Very happy with their services!

One of the single best decisions of our wedding planning journey (an extra long one due to a COVID postponement) was picking Joanna and Jim as our videographer + DJ duo for our wedding in Key West. VIDEO: I picked Joanna as our videographer because I appreciated her package offering of multiple hours of footage between the ceremony, reception, full speeches, etc. in addition to the shorter highlight video (approx 6 minutes) and social media video (approx 1 minute). I found that many other videographers only offered the latter two options and we were thrilled to receive the full offering from SoundWave. Now onto the quality of video - we received our highlight video yesterday and have already watched it 10x - we are obsessed! She picked the most beautiful moments from our wedding day and those she knew would be most special to us. The quality of the video (footage, angles, lighting, shots at all the unique wedding day moments) truly shows the work of a true artist. Joanna blew away our expectations of how gorgeous and perfect a wedding video could be and it was worth every cent. I should also add she is an absolute JOY to work with - one of the nicest, funniest, fun people who knew exactly how to direct us around on our day while also feeling like part of our family. We especially loved how her sister Bernadette was our wedding coordinator because it truly felt like our families merged on the day of! DJ: When I learned that Joanna + Jim were a husband + wife duo, we LOVED the idea of having them both working our event. Jim put together the most epic playlist perfectly catered to our tastes - I would not change one song that was played! His music request form is perfectly crafted to help weed out exactly what we wanted to hear and he delivered exactly that. Our wedding was cut from 150 to 20 people due to COVID but we had every person up and dancing the whole night - from a tropical house cocktail hour into Sinatra for dinner, a Motown + Abba dance floor, an impromptu Hamilton musical bouquet toss into an Avicii/Daft Punk rave hour....we had ages 5-75 on the dance floor until Casa shut us down. I also want to share a meaningful moment that meant the world to my husband and I and shows the true character of these two - on our original wedding date (May 2020) Joanna + Jim facetimed us from our venue to say a hi from Key West - above and beyond to make us feel like part of their family and made our long-awaited postponed wedding day all the more special with them being part of our day. I went with SoundWave because it was the highly recommended by our coordinator, Natalie, from Havana Cabana, where our venue took place. Everything came out perfect! Especially having a Wedding where you dont reside so it was a little stressful but I am glad we picked SoundWave. Jimmy is such a wonderful person, always responded to my e-mails quickly with any questions or concerns I had. Wonderful to work with! Everyone was so quick to respond to any questions... the timeline of our wedding ceremony and reception was so detailed and everyone made us feel at ease leading up to our wedding day. We had DJ Rahm and he was so cool! Very laid back, but knew exactly what to do. It was so much fun to dance and have great music played and not have to worry about anything other than having fun!

DJ: I cannot say enough how amazing Jimmy was! We looked around the room and every seat was empty because all of our guests were on the dance floor. Jim was the MC/DJ for our ceremony and reception earlier this month. He is AWESOME!!!!!! We did a destination wedding so a lot of communication was through email, he was very personable and responsive. We had zero issues discussing what type of vibe we wanted and he was more than happy to make it just as we asked. And he literally was spot on! Everyone had such a great time! Ive never hired a DJ before until my wedding, but I have been to several events with DJs and I can sincerely say no one is better than Jimmy! He was insanely good. He played the songs we requested and he quickly caught onto the type of music our guests got into most. He took requests, which I know the kids had fun with, but made my day completely unforgettable! When it started to rain, he did not stop the party! He threw a tarp up over all of his equipment and himself and he kept it going! We all danced in the rain, while listening to our favorite type of music and celebrating this beautiful day. Along with the caterer and photographer, he made our day extra special. He was also easy to communicate with leading up the event. Never once did he make me feel like I was being annoying, and I reached out quite a bit to him over the months. Not only did I have my dream wedding in Key West, I got to relive it in the most magical form. I am so thankful my mother in law surprised me with a wedding video by Joana. Jimmy was amazing. He was so kind and made sure everything was perfect and stress free!! We booked Joanna for our wedding and we couldnt have made a better choice for our videographer! From the moment that I spoke with her on the phone during the initial consultation, I told my then fiance that she was perfect. Just based on the phone conversation, I could tell she was going to do such a great job. She was so kind to all of our guests, including everyone, and made sure to catch all of the right moments while keeping everything on track. We havent received our full video yet but we (and our family/friends) cant wait to see it after only receiving the highlight videos today! I usually feel so uncomfortable taking pictures or videos but she made the entire process fun and enjoyable. We also had a second videographer through Soundwave who arrived at the ceremony, she was amazing as well. If youre having any doubts about hiring Joanna, dont! We purposely cancelled with the wedding planning company we were originally going with because they wanted us to hire their own videographer but we wanted to go with Soundwave and it was the best decision. We cannot recommend Joanna, or Soundwave, enough!

Like most brides I was trying to stick to a budget and save where ever I could, so originally I was not going to have videography at my wedding. You think to yourself how often am I going to watch this video and I’ll have the pictures for the memories. But after speaking with Joanna, who absolutely lives up to her nickname Joyful Joanna, I decided to do a few hours of video and I am soo grateful that I did! From start to finish she is fun and bubbly, cracking jokes and makes you feel comfortable, it was very natural. I recently received my minute teaser and highlight video and absolutely love them! As the bride you’re trying to take it all in and be present in the moment and with the video you get to see all the emotions of your guests, spouse, and yourself that gives you all the feels to help relive the day. I can not say thank you enough to Joanna and strongly advise NOT to skip a videographer and highly recommend SoundWave. You will love it!

Jim and Joanna Cooper are absolutely amazing! My husband and I used them for our DJ and video services for our Key West wedding at the Pier House.Jim was incredibly thorough, being sure to keep in mind everything that was so musically important to us. Im so Type A, and had a list of music that I wanted for dinner and dancing. Jim was wonderful and understanding and made sure to play everything that was an absolute must. During the reception, Jim read the crowd well, and played music that suited everyone. The dance floor was always full, and everyone had a blast, most of all our four year old son. Jim played all his favorites.Joanna was so sweet. My husband and I are very private people (part of the reason for a small, intimate wedding in Key West), and at no point during filming did we ever feel like our space was being invaded. Most of the time we werent even aware that Joanna was there filming us, which made our wedding highlight video that much more incredible. When we watched it we were both in tears. It felt real and not staged at all. She was there to capture the happiest day of our lives, and thats exactly what she did. The editing, music selection, and literally every frame made us feel like we were back to that day. I was amazed at how quickly we received our highlight video back as well. It only took about three and a half weeks to receive this.I would highly recommend anyone looking for video and DJ services to contact Soundwave.

Jim and Joanna did a wonderful job for our wedding at Ocean Key. Jim handled the DJ work and kept everyone dancing all night. Joanna was unobtrusive with video and captured all of the best moments. Shortly after we returned from our honeymoon we had a 4 minute video that weve shared with everyone who couldnt make it to Key West. Its almost as good as being there. I highly recommend SoundWave.

We chose sound wave at the suggestion of our planner, for our wedding reception at Hemingway house. They also provided the music and mics for our ceremony at fort Zachary. They were wonderful! The sound quality was excellent, even at fort zach where it was incredibly windy, and the timing was perfect. At our reception Jim did an amazing job, he was very friendly and fun and kept everyone up and dancing, and also kept the itinerary moving smoothly. He chose great music based on the information we provided, and the sound quality again was excellent. We were a little worried because of new noise constraints at this venue but everything was a perfect volume. Everyone had so much fun at our reception, and I would definitely recommend sound wave to other Key West brides!

We booked the family affair package for our wedding on June 30, 2018 at the Southernmost Beach Resort. Jim was an amazing Dj I have never danced so hard in my life!!!! Joanna was our videographer and she is so sweet and kept us laughing. She showed me some of the video she was taking and it was amazing I can’t wait to see the rest. We had our wedding in May 2018 and we can honestly say that from the second we spoke to Jim (DJ) and his wife Joanna (videography) we knew they had to be part of our day! Not only did Jim recommend absolute amazing song ideas for the ceremony, but he let us play our humorous, costume changing dance songs throughout the night! Every guest mentioned how fun he made it for them, too! We have all experienced some weddings that dont allow you to have the party you want, but WOW did Jim let us have our party! She let us have our laughs, as she recorded our ridiculous dance moves and heartfelt memories, while wearing my husbands Miller Lite cowboy hat! They were professional every step of the way from emailing us miles away from Key West to chatting over the phone about ideas to finally meeting them in person when we arrived. I gave Jim an extensive music list, to which he was able to play to the crowds interest. When my first dance with my groom was going on too long, he told me to wink at him and hed fade out the music. Worked like a charm!! Joanna put together 2 different videos, the first about 5 mins long, the 2nd almost an hour long! Im in LOVE with both. Joanna Cooper was one of the most professional small business owner operator I have ever met. She did an outstanding job of capturing our 54th wedding anniversary. She paid attention to every detail. Perfectly Perfect... We had Sanaris of SoundWave for our wedding aboard the Schooner America last weekend. He was fabulous! We didnt give him much direction about the songs we wanted - we are all in our 50s and he read the audience and knew what made sense. We threw some last minute requests at him and he had everything we wanted available. A guest decided to launch into his own rendition of show tunes and Sanaris quickly accommodated him with his microphone and made some instrumental music available for him. It was a windy day so using his sound equipment for our vows equally made it easier to hear out on the open waters. Everyone loved him. Thanks for making our ceremony more special!

Soundwave was amazing. Joanna and Jim did an amazing job with our video and the Mc/ Music of the night. They incoroporated all of our requests and we had such a blast partying away to the music and party set up. The video caught all of our fun and joy. We could not have had a better experience!

Jim and Joanna are incredible! We had a DJ/video combination and cannot say enough how happy we were with their work. Jim (the DJ) kept everybody dancing and was a great emcee! I had several of my friends tell me they were sore the next day because they didnt come off the dance floor! Joanna (the videographer) was just as good -- we recently got our full wedding video and could not have been happier with it -- cried, laughed and everything in-between. Soundwave is truly a class act all the way around. If youre having a destination wedding in Key West, book them!

Jim from Soundwave did a fantastic job at our Hemingway Home wedding in January 2017. He had excellent follow through during the planning process and answered all of my questions promptly. We had booked SoundWave for our DJ and videographer. Jim was the perfect DJ! He played all of the music we requested and at the perfect times. SO easy to work with. He was energetic and exactly what we were looking for in a DJ. A videographer was the last thing in our budget so we did not want to spend $4,000 on a video. I basically told Joanna that I just wanted a video to be able to look back at the ceremony and reception speeches/dances. I even said that I didnt need to have a fancy edited video just something to watch later....I got WAY more than I asked for. It was worth every penny and the best money we spent. I was speechless when they sent us the sneak peek video and I am so excited to see the full version!! Joanna went above and beyond and I just couldnt thank them enough for making our day so special and now we will forever have these memories to watch on repeat for the rest of our lives! If you are on the fence about booking a videographer...you should definitely book Joanna, you will not be disappointed in the slightest.

Immy and Joanna were awesome! They were hands on from the beginning and catered entirely to our specific preference. My fiance and myself were unsure of what we needed for our day but Jimmy immediately reached out to offer guidance which made things totally stress free. We had a mix of every type of music and he nailed it! When we arrived to our venue, the set up looked perfect and he played whatever our guests wanted! Joanna handled all videography for our day and did so perfectly! She captured moments that I didnt even realize happened throughout the course of the day. Even better, she had a wedding day highlight Vimeo sent to us in less than a week after the wedding! Its so much fun to watch and the visuals are awesome! Theyre such a fun, professional and talented crew and I would most certainly recommend them for your event. SoundWave is great !After finding their business on every preferred vendor list I felt confident hiring them.On our wedding day we had DJ Rahm. He was a trueprofessional from his dress code, to the music he prepared for our special event, to his witty sense of humor as he MCed our event. We hired Soundwave as the DJ/MC for our wedding at Southernmost Resort last weekend. The entire experience was better than I ever could have imagined. Planning the event with Jim Cooper was easy and straightforward. He was always very responsive and understanding about my many questions and changes. Then, Sanaris, our DJ for the event, was the absolute best wedding DJ Ive ever had. First, he had the dance floor packed all night long. Even several guests who arent usually dancers were chanting one more song! at the end of the night. Second, Sanaris was incredibly friendly. He had a smile on his face the whole time. He even got on the dance floor to help us all learn the line dances, I received so many positive comments from our guests. I cant say enough about how happy we were with this company. I cant recommend Soundwave and Sanaris highly enough!

We hired Soundwave for our 241st Marine Corps Birthday Ball at the Truman Little White House. Jim was great to work with and, since he was booked for the date of our event, referred us to one of his DJs, DJ Sanaris, who did a great job. When originally planning our wedding, we didnt select a videographer. We were told by several friends to book one and dont miss out. They said, get a videographer. It will be worth it! We are so glad that we did.It started with our introduction on the phone. I hung up smiling and confident that booking Soundwave would be a great choice!!! And that it was!! Joanna arrived on our wedding day with a smile on her face. Happiness is what a wedding should be and she brought tons of it. I heard from many guests that she was so sweet and she was more than a videographer. She puts her heart in her work and truly enjoys what she is doing. We received the sneak peek of our video and cried and laughed! When we received the full version of our wedding, we laughed, cried, and celebrated some more. There is so much that goes on during your wedding. It was fun to relive, but even more fun to see everyone having a blast. If you dont book a videographer...change your mind! Its worth it!!!

Our wedding date was September 6th 2015 and I want to tell you about 2 sides of Soundwave, their DJ side and then they also offer videography services that are AMAZING! I apologize for being so long winded with this review but I could write a novel on how fabulous they are and how beyond happy we are with how magical and perfect they made our wedding day!!Lets talk DJ first......I had actually booked another DJ for our wedding reception but for some reason I felt the need to keep searching on-line and kept going back to DJ Jimmys website. I started this wedding process thinking I knew everything and that it would be easy to pick the best vendors and as I got closer to our wedding date I started to realize just how important it is to find likeminded people who share your vision, personality style and want to make you happy.2 weeks before our wedding I cancelled our contract with our original DJ and crossed my fingers that DJ Jimmy would have the date available and be able to take our wedding on. Well... the odds were in our favor and with it being a holiday weekend, we were able to sign a contract and plan everything from the unique wedding party intros to exactly what I wanted and needed for dinner and dancing music so quickly.I had already hired his sister-n-law and wife a year earlier to be our photographer and videographer and have to say that the flow of the photos, video and music was seamless!! Check out their family affair package!I had provided him with a list of songs to play during dinner and heard all of our requests played even the local hits from Hawaii where Jef & I met and fell in love! Jimmy was spot on and kept the energy up for our reception and kept our guests on the dance floor which is very hard with the majority of our wedding guests having 2 left feet! We all danced the night away and I couldnt of been happier with my last minute change and the professionalism and energy of DJ Jimmy with Soundwave!!He also provided my uplighting which I highly recommend as it adds a great feel and atmosphere to the room!You wont be disappointed!!!! Thank you DJ Jimmy!!!!Now can I tell you about the most incredible wedding video they have produced for us! FIRST AND FOREMOST!! The best words of wisdom for our wedding came from my mother in law who said no matter the cost...... HIRE A VIDEOGRAPHER! She was absolutely right! Hands down the best money we spent!!!I started working with Joanna last year as I knew I wanted her videography service as I had seen and loved her work. When I met her in May I knew she was our girl as her personality was so professional yet incredibly genuine and bubbly.Weve now been married for almost 2 weeks and Ive watched my 5 minute wedding teaser video about a MILLION times as I believe of course that its the BEST video shes ever put together ;) She was able to convey our love and our personality in this video and I cant wait to see the full version!!!! Every time I watch it I notice different things about what went on and what happened that photos will NEVER be able to convey and I also realized that she did such a wonderful job of1) Knowing where to position herself so that you dont even realize shes there and when you watch the video you cant believe that she filmed that moment.2) Getting us our teaser video immediately. We were 2 days into our honeymoon when she sorted through 7 hrs of footage, broke it down, set it to music and emailed us so we could relive our day as it really goes by so quickly in a blur that without the video, its hard to remember all the little moments.Joanna is just amazing and we couldnt be any happier with both her and her husband who really exceeded our expectations and made an already incredible day even better!!
