We came here on vacation to browse and glad we did! We found our newest fur baby at the cat adoption section! The amount and variety of pets for sale there is better than other pet stores. Staff is super friendly and sweet. The owner is a people person and will chat will you and make you feel welcome. Thanks for our new kitty, we all love him! He fit in perfectly to our home. 🥰

Its such a small community and we are so fortunate to have Robby. He has an amazing stock selection of pet foods (even organics). He has the best products. Hes so helpful with great recommendations. He actually uses most of his products - which is why his recommendations work. Robby and his staff always carry heavy items to your car for you - without asking them.On a side note, I wish he had won for commissioner. Hes an honest, hard working small business owner who had a great vision for Key Largo.Visit this store and forget the box supermarkets. And dont forget to say hello to Felix the Shop Cat. I’ve been to this store a few times now and I can’t say enough what a wonderful business this is! Every time I’ve shopped all of the employees have been so friendly and incredibly helpful. They have the most high quality and difficult to find products that I use for my cats at home and I always find something new and interesting! As someone who has previously worked in holistic animal retail I am so relieved to have somewhere with so many amazing products close by! They’re always sure to throw in a free sample or give me some kind of incredible deal along with great conversation! They go above and beyond for their customers and are very welcoming. I never write reviews, but after so many outstanding experiences it’s only fair I give back!

Even though they are basically the only pet store in the upper keys..they are the best and I would still shop here if I had other options im sure of it. The owner and staff are so very helpful and so nice, this is why I say this. They took time to answer all our questions when we adopted our bunny and they seem to really care for all the animals they have. Every cage and aquarium are always clean and tidy. Its awesome to see the love they have for the animals and the shop.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience at this place. I had stopped in for the first time today after a long and stressful week to take a look at all of the animals (im a huge animal lover) and consider becoming a pet parent. I had been in the store with my friend for about 15 minutes looking around and spending time with the animals to see which i bond with, and as I was spending some time with a particular bird that seemed to be warming up to me (it seemed nervous at first, then approached the front of the cage after speaking and bent its head down for me to pet) and elderly man approached the aisle and very rudely started ushering my friend and I out while asking what are you guys doing, just looking around?I replied with a Yes and he told us Time is up. Time to go. We are too safe around here.I had and have no clue what this means. My friend and I looked around to see if there was a listed time limit in store, but there wasnt and we were there well before it closed.Their birds seemed very nervous, which is one of the main reasons i spent some time with them, and was happy to seem to get the one bird i spent time with to stop shaking and comfortable enough to offer thier head to pet. The rest of their animals seem pretty cool. They seem to have a decent amount of stock. I wish i had more positive of an experience.But not only was i not asked if i needed help, but was ushered out like i was a miscreant for spending time with the animals i was considering bringing home.

Every time we go to Keys Kritters the Owner always takes care of us. We have been bought plenty of good aquarium equipment and accessories from here with comparable prices to the market. Also we have bought fish and changed our mind and traded them back for store credit at a fair exchange rate. Thank you Robbie and staff.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, I went in to see what freshwater plants were available and I was able to bring home a lovely variety of different plants including java ferns, assorted crypts, hornwort, water sprite, and anubias. My 5 gallon aquarium has never looked greener! I will definitely come back once my plants have had time to grow in and hopefully find the perfect fishy friend to bring home.

Local Owned and Local Operated. Wide selection of products from a family that truly cares about animals. Dog, Cat, Bird, Turtle, Snake Fish Fish Fish. Hamsters, rabbits. Products for everyone and if they dont have it talk to the owner who can almost always be found in the store. We have three dogs and get our food and most supplies from Keys Kritters. They do Christmas Pictures with your pet and Santa. Have events and are active in our local pet community. Stop in say hello, you wont be let down.

Weve been very happy with Keys Kritters, theyve been our local pet store for almost 20 years. The entire staff is helpful and friendly, including the owner, who is also generous to his regular, local customers. Dont buy every single thing on Amazon and add to the environmental damage caused by daily shipping when you can make a trip to your local vendor for what you need!

Went last Friday and bought my cute little bunny Macchiato there and her cage. Everyone is super helpful and nice. We were there around closing time because of our work schedule and they still were very accommodating. Thank you for your help and our new addition!

Would not recommend this place. I’m on vacation with my family and we love pet stores and reptiles ( I have 5 reptiles of my own including four bearded dragons) I wanted to rescue all the reptiles there. Four almost full grown bearded dragons all in one cage with a poor diet, small water dish and not the proper bedding. Same with a monitor and geckos. All had the same diet and dirty cages.

Great Pet Shop! NOT the common big box store, but an old fashion friendly local shop. The fish tanks sparkled, bird cages shined...floor to ceiling merchandise and prices were less than the chain stores.

I recently started buying my dog food here so I have only been here a small handful of times. Just today I went in to resupply and struck a conversation with an older gentleman and a woman who worked there. I told them about my dogs skin condition and how I’ve tried just about everything to help her. Just as I paid and began to walk out the door, the older gentleman stopped me and showed me a product he said many customers swore on and he recommended for my dogs skin . Before I could say a word, he handed it to me and said “ here try this out. Consider it a Christmas present to your pet. “ This shop clearly cares about customers and their pets and I’ll be a customer for a long time. Shop local! Thanks!!

Best Pet Shop Ever!

I stopped through when I was bored on vacation. I left here very quickly. The owner of this store is an older man who is very creepy twords young women. Beware, and don’t let your daughters go there. I spoke to a few locals about it and they had heard about him, and one even had a bad experience herself.

The best shop I have ever been in!!! The owner had a wealth of information to help me with my dog’s ear infection. Down here on vacation and forgot her medication from her veterinary doctor. The OTC medicine he suggested cleared her ear infection right away!!! Far better then the meds from her Vet. And not only that, he suggested a new food for her that would help with preventing any future ear infection. Chihuahuas are very susceptible to ear infection because of their big ears. He even gave me a sample of the food to just make sure she liked it before buying a whole bag!!! I could truly tell for the love of the animals. Not for ‘the sell’ like so many big stores do!!!

Good looking cats and friendly staff

This place has more stuff than I thought it would. I was very disappointed in the conditions and set up of the Tortoises/turtle. They crammed a Sulcata Tortoise, a Red Foot Tortoise and a Box Turtle into a tiny tank. These 3 species are from completely different regions of the world and have different habitat and dietary needs. The Sulcata had some bad pyramiding already for that small of a size. The Red Foot looked pitiful. 😞The owner/manager seemed cheery and nice. I was on a time crunch and wasnt able to educate him a hit on proper housing of each of these animals.I posted the photo of the depressing enclosure of the turtle/tortoises and luckily someone from Mississippi saw them and is buying them all. The owner is being nice and working out a deal to ship them to a wonderful home in the country. I hope he really listens to this lady and makes some changes in his enclosures and animal displays. His store isnt too big but thats not an excuse to cram a bunch of different species into a tiny tank.

You must pay cash for anything under $10 . But that hard to do. There over priced on every thing. They act like there doing you a service to wait on you. If your not spending big bucks they want cash There to cheep to pay the 55 cent processing fee. I have been here since 1999 and helping all animal protection people. They have never donated are nrver mentioned at meetings. But service is quick. Your the only person there. Makes you wonder how they get enough money to keep open all these years
