Found the exact color and make of car I wanted. CarMax shipped it from out of state to my nearest CarMax. But when it arrived it wasn’t exactly as described and had a few issues. They were repaired in a week. I was told I would get my 199 shipping fee back, but 5 weeks later no refund.Easy process. Excellent customer service. The car is wonderful and all in all a good experience.

Had a great experience on my purchase. They were prompt and I didn’t experience a long wait upon check in. Highly encourage you to conduct all of the paperwork through the call center to ensure your visit is seamless. Was able to able to test drive the vehicle that I chose for 25 minutes. Only drawback is that I had to ask repeatedly to remove the stickers from my vehicle. Upon checkout I discovered stickers still on the vehicle. Furthermore when I got home, I noticed the carmax license plate was broken, but still had a piece still on it.

Absolutely as the advertising implies. Simple. Got a quote on line, went to the store, they took some pictures and gave me a check in 30 minutes. No gimmicks, no surprises. Exactly as the advertising said it would be. Will definitely come back to these guys again. We drove about 150 miles one way ( northern Michigan to Grand Rapids mi) to do this deal: so happy we did!

Had a great experience with selling my vehicle, got appraisal from different dealers, CarVana etc.. but CarMax gave me a good price and the price was what I was expecting, got my appraisal offer online and drove to CarMax to sell my vehicle, process was straightforward, CarMax honored online quote and with in an hour I’m out of CarMax with my check, never thought selling a car would be so easy and less hassle. I provided honest answers to all of the questions regarding my vehicle. The online offer was $5,400. When we arrived at CarMax (2 hours away), the test driver thought he felt something unusual with the transmission, which knocked down the offer by $1,900. I consider this a bait and switch. We had the vehicle for 2.5 years with no transmission issues. I had just driven it 200 miles with no transmission issues. Normally, I would have left to deal with a more honest buyer, but we had already driven 2 hours to get there, and CarMax had us over a barrel. I will not use CarMax again, and I will advise others to avoid CarMax.

Im not one to spend my time leaving reviews unless I feel the experience really warrants it. I enjoyed everything about my car purchase with CarMax. No hard selling (sales consultants are paid hourly, not by commission). Incredibly generous 30 day return along with the 90 day warranty really sealed the deal on buying with CarMax. The people I dealt with were professional and the car was super clean. I will buy from them in the future and recommend my friends do the same.

Well I purchased a Chevy Silverado 1500 work truck a couple moths a ago and tookIt in for an oil change at my friends local shop. Everything has been decently good until now. Only needed a couple few things here and there. Now.... I was just told it’s not 4X4 but 2wheel drive!!!!! How does that happen. I was told ALL their cars through a huge inspection and how good their cars are but my sales person Whitney. HOW does someone miss this?!?! I paid a huge transfer fee to get this due to the shortage, and a premium for the truck. I will be letting everyone know to never shop with Carmax again! Your mechanics are so incompetent it’s not even funny. What other stuff have you guys miss with me and or others over the weeks, months, and or years? Makes you wonder!Safety first, probably not, money first!

What you see online is what you see on their screens. The sales persons have a set commission so they arent under pressure to sell you one vehicle over another. Go out into the lot, look at all the different cars youre interested in, test drive it, know what youre going to pay before you even get to the lot because theyre upfront about any tax, title, or licensing costs. No hidden fees, no pressure for upselling. I loved my experience there.

I was trying to sell a car, so I filled out the application online and received a preliminary offer. I went to the local office, where the car was photographed and inspected. There was a lot of paperwork, but no hassles. It took a couple of hours, but I left with a check for the full amount that had been estimated. The staff member that I worked with was friendly. The COVID-19 distancing procedures felt safe. All in all, a good experience.

I tried to bring my dog in a week or so ago. The sale person Jim Davis was pleasant enough but asked that I put my dog back in my car. It was in the 60’s so I didn’t mind too much. Window down, winter and food. We went to the lot to look for my new Subaru Outback with my wife. An older gentleman came out shouting asking if that was my dog in the car. I said yes. He told me that I was a terrible person and my dog was barking, it was too hot! I asked if he worked here? He said NO! But was in Carmax work uniform!!! Turns out his name is Mark O. And works in Sales. I tried to speak to the GM R.J. But he didn’t seem concerned that this interaction happened at his store and in front of so many people!! How can this happen at all!I will never shop or recommend Carmax to anyone ever again! Not pet friendly, no customer service, no accountability for their employees!

I did get the vehicle, just had a issue with the insurance part of the sale. Needless to say after that, I drove away a happy customer

The car is great, people are nice enough but felt like I was buying a car from Costco. The final papers took an hour to sign, which they should have prepared ahead of time (they knew I was coming in to buy the car 24 hours in advance). No hospitality offered, how the cleaned the car for me was a joke, and the touch ups to the paint were pretty terrible as well.Again, I love the car, it was a fairly good deal, but I probably wont buy from CarMax again, as the perks from other dealerships are much better.

The experience at Carmax was better than I expected. It only took about an hour from the time I walked in the door to when I walked out with a check in my hand. The staff was very friendly. I was provided an online quote and then had to schedule an in-person appraisal. I was expecting the online quote to be just a way to get me in the door. I thought they would try to give me less, but the amount they gave me was exactly what I was quoted online. This was much easier than selling my car out of my driveway and I got more than the dealership offered me as a trade in. Excellent!

The experience started off well but quickly went downhill when our car arrived. We ordered the car and when it came in we went in for a test drive. The car was filthy. It smelled horrible, had hair all over it and was not cleaned at all. We mentioned that to the staff and said that if we bought the car, it needed to cleaned thoroughly. Nobody told us about the 24 hour test drive option, but instead we learned about it later. That would have been helpful because not long after we bought our car (not even two weeks), we had to take it in as it had transmission issues. We get, things happen but when we called the service center to report the problem, we were told by staff that they couldn’t get the car in for an appointment for at least another week. We explained to the associate that the car was giving us service report that said it wouldn’t be able to shift soon and immediate service was needed. The car wouldn’t last a week. She continued to try and schedule an appointment for over a week later and wanted us to drive the car 45 minutes from where we live, back to where we bought it. We asked to speak to a manager and got a call back from Corey. He was great to work with and he helped us secure a rental car while our car is in the shop (it’s still in the shop). He also worked it out so we could drop it off at a dealership 5 minutes from our house. He’s the reason this review doesn’t have just 1 star.P.S. They did not clean the car originally like we asked. We had to have them go back and do it again. For $$$$$$, we should have at least have had a detailed car.

I picked it up for a 24 hour test drive (48 hours really, because I picked it up on a Saturday and theyre not open on Sundays). I applied for financing online Monday morning, was approved and signed the papers on location that day. I found THE EXACT vehicle I was looking for and I am very, very happy with it. ❤️

CarMax was a very easy company to deal with. I saw a car I had been looking for. It was in another state. I said I was interested and they moved it to the Grand Rapids store. Which was still 150 miles away, but whos counting? I test drove the vehicle, it was exactly as stated in CarMaxs description and we closed the deal. I was very fortunate to be able to pay cash up front and had no trade in either. So the transaction was quite straight forward. Our sales consultant, Emily R., was very competent and thorough, a pleasure to work with.

My visit was quick and efficient. I received the exact same amount for my car as the online quote. The appraisal process was socially distant due to the covid virus and I wandered around the used cars for sale parking lot as I waited. Once approved, my check was cut immediately.I would highly recommend Carmax.

The car was listed with options that were not on the car. One of the key fobs was dead and I was told they would order the battery and send it to me, still waiting. I would rate lower but the first saleswoman was very nice and easy to work with.

Overall, I love my new Pacifica. The final sales rep we had was thorough and easy to work with. Everything leading up to purchasing was ridiculous however. The vehicle transfer was terrible and if it werent for the fact that it was the exact vehicle I had been searching for I wouldve walked away. I paid for transfer, vehicle was prepped for transfer, then suddenly I was refunded with no notice of why. No title was available so vehicle sale couldnt happen. Then suddenly it could and someone else was able to snag it. I had many phone calls with many different higher ups assuring me that it was a mistake and would be taken care of. While they were very kind nobody wanted to admit they had messed up. It was always somebody elses fault. They waived the transfer fee for their mistake but then the keys were suddenly lost so it couldnt be transferred. So what generally takes at most a week took much longer. When we finally were able to purchase at our local CarMax it was a fine experience. I would recommend really really inspecting all the nooks and crannies as some back cupholders were absolutely disgusting but I knew I was going to detail it myself upon purchase. I do really love my new vehicle and we were offered a great interest rate, but, I will never go through CarMax again after so much run around. From start to finish it took two weeks of coming soon, almost three weeks of transferring before I could actually purchase. So dont anticipate a fast service if you need a car now type of thing.

Shockingly horrible Customer Service. I found a car I was interested in made an appointment to test drive the car. Arrived 7 minutes early for the appointment. I was directed to have a seat and someone would be with me. Not one person working asked if I had been helped or needed help. As I waited I got online to verify that I did on fact have an appointment.Update- I was contacted by Manager and they completely changed my prior experience into a very good one. I am very happy with my purchase. Glad I gave them an opportunity!

I was having a pleasant experience until the manager was extremely condescending to a person of color. They belittled, talked down to and continued to interrupt this person and it was not a good look. Especially in front of not only myself but other customers. I would love to see this manager correct his behavior towards others and recognize how he speaks to people.

The process was quick, and the offer was unbelievable--much higher than the competition.When it came time to sell, the process was painless. The appraisal document listed everything I needed to bring to sell the vehicle, and I was on my way in less than an hour.

My only suggestion is a person should only have to deal with one or two associates. Everytime Id get messages or when I went in to the store I was presented with another associate. Other than that very informational n straight up. Like the haggle free pricing, and I bought a vehicle from Indiana store and they shipped it free of charge.
