I am a new tenant with Eastland Apartments. So far, the process has been extremely disappointing. One of my first interactions was with their reginal manager, Sue. I am holistic and I requested new carpet due to allergies and the COVID case spike. I explained that I was not comfortable with the chemical spray that they use because the bottle was labeled over 80% other and no one could tell me what the chemical mixture was that they were using. To minimize risk of reaction and possible illness I simply asked for new carpet to be placed before move in. Sue declined to do so and her reasons were budget, and not having an understand of what holistic meant. I am renting a 385 sq.ft. studio apartment which is the smallest unit offered... not expensive considering the $10,000 secured in my years rental agreement. When I stated that to her, she asked me if I could produce documentation from my physician to prove my condition. This was extremely offensive, illegal, and discriminatory. Those who are holistic and do not practice chemical medicine would not have a medical physician. Frankly, I wish I had decided against Eastland after such a sick interaction. For starters, my apartment was not move in ready. I made arraignments with the leasing agent to take care of the move in paperwork the day before move in so that the move in day would be smooth. I arrived around noon on the move in day, expecting to pick up my keys and begin to unload my things but the apartment was not yet ready. They were doing a final walk through which left me waiting over 20 minutes in their lobby for the staff to bring me the keys. This was frustrating and left me wondering what the scenario would have been if I has shown up at 8am rather than noon to retrieve my keys. On top of the delay, a staff member broke my blinds, so I needed to wait on them to get the blinds changed before I could comfortably begin settling in. There were several issues upon move in, many of which are still unresolved. Some of those issues were/are: Leaking kitchen sink, dirty baseboards, stained walls, AC unit did not work and leaked water down the walls and into the heat vent, oven did not work, lining of sink and tub not calked, slow draining tub (water collects so high that I have to pause or rush my shower to allow the water to drain or it will have flood the bathroom, literally), kitchen drawers off line, slider screen door had a hole and several weak areas in the screen, slider screen door does not lock, wood boards under kitchen and bathroom sink are soft and eroded due to water leak, active bee hive on balcony, just to name a few things. I have been there for just over one month and there are still several concerns.I spoke with the office manager about my concerns as well. To my further disappointment she responded very far removed as if my request for follow up and solution were outside of her priorities. Rather than investigating these issues with her team, she had the audacity to say that my concerns did not sound like the work ethic of her staff as if I made it all up. She also never took any accountability for not following up with me when she returned from vacation... I assume follow up is not a practice for this office which may explain why most of this process has been so unproductive. It would take a miracle for me to consider renewing with this complex and I strongly suggest caution for anyone considering Eastland Apartments to call their temporary home. Its so disheartening to pay into a company who practices active disregard for those who pay them as it is our dollars that secure their employment.I will be escalating my concerns as high as possible within the company, State of Michigan, Better Business Bureau, and the health department and I encourage anyone else who has had a similar experience to do the same. Unbelievable!
I REALLY do love living here . GREAT staff. No matter how many times something stop working or don’t work and you say it isn’t fixed they always don’t hesitate to come check it out or get the issue resolved quickly and efficiently. Andy ALWAYS seem to get the job done. Appreciate everything you guys do and I mean all of that 100%
I was with a friend while she was visiting apartments in the area looking for a new place. She was helped by Jordan, who was amazing at answering all her questions and gave her any information she needed to help make her decision. My friend said out of the 5 complexes we visited, that place stuck out from the service she was given, and the amenities they offer. Definitely recommend and fingers crossed you get the great staff we did!! :)
I stopped in looking for apartment information. The girls in the office explained everything to me and answered all my questions. They made me feel like I was always part of the community even though I was visiting from 3 hours away. Kaitlyn took the time to show me pictures from her computer while Jordan pulled up a virtual tour on a tablet they had in the office. They really took my apartment search to the next level and made me feel right at home already! Thank you
The staff here is excellent! Every time I needed assistance in the leasing office, Megan greeted me with a smile. All of the staff is friendly and goes out of their way to ensure everything is taken care of and that all of my questions are answered.
I give Eastland Apartments five stars, I love living here. And the office staff are so helpful, just awesome. I have been through a lot lately the staff have accommodated me through it all. Just want to say thanks for your courtesy and generosity. My home is with Eastland.
The staff at Eastland apartments are amazing!! They do their best to make sure you have a great and easy moving experience. The maintenance is done in a timely manner. Near all the best shopping and diner areas highly recommended.
2 Years ago I was looking for affordable housing in Grand Rapids and Found Eastland Apartments. They looked Nice, Had wonderful Amenities and were in a great location close to the woodland mall. Unfortunately however, Moving in recently has has not been a very pleasant experience. We all know moving is stressful, but my very first night here there were people yelling and a possible domestic violence assault case occurring at 11PM at night which I could hear all the way from my back bedroom for over an hour when I had to be up for work at 5am the next morning on top of a handful of other issues. For starters, there is no hot water in the shower but there is everywhere else in all of the sinks. This is unacceptable as I cannot take cold showers and legally hot water must be provided.Second, the switch on the left side of the old thermostat is broken, a metal strip sticking up on the floor. Plastic door handles broken off closet doors, noisy door hinge arm on apartment door apon entering unit and finally cockroaches. Which is also unacceptable along with the water concern. After only being here a few days I am honestly afraid to live here given the circumstances. I asked the office if any other units were available and they said no! Its hard to believe that everything would be booked up and rented out.Ive heard many good things about this apartment complex and even some of my coworkers live here and have not had any issues but unfortunately I cannot say the same. My experiences so far have not been pleasant, safe, or sanitary! HELP!!Edit / Update: most of my apartment issues have been resolved by maintenance. Im on the garden / basement level so there will be bugs. The bug is NOT a roach but some kind of beetle. The apartment has been less noisy lately. Finally, with the water. There IS hot water technically but the faucet is backwards. Or rotated upside down so I can use the shower. I guess just myself or maintenance was unaware until looking into it further. Apparently that is the only shower faucet like that in the entire building.Updated to 3 stars for now!
Eastland has been a wonderful place to live. The staff is incredible. Jordan was super easy to work with and the maintenance staff is prompt and effective. I would 10/10 recommend Eastland Apartments! Thanks
The apartment is really nice with a bonus fireplace. All of the neighbors have been nice and quiet. The staff is awesome and they even send out a newsletter with activities, recipes and local deals.
Visited a friend here last week and immediately told my post grad sister about it! Looks like a perfect community for young adults with all of the cool community spaces and amenities. Very impressive with this little tuck away Kentwood complex!
Last week I stumbled upon Eastland Apartments during the painful process of what some call “house hunting.” I would consider myself rather uneducated in this area, but an angel named Megan saved the day. I called here in a frantic, needing a roof to cover my head…this place fell into my hands. I will spare you the time. I first spoke with Megan on July 26th one afternoon and let me tell you, she was the selling factor on this place! Ms. Megan walked me through the application process as well as informed me about the community events that Eastland Apartments hosts every month, boy am I excited for the annual summer barbecue. Great experience all around.
Talked to Sam in the office today & he was such a big help! Really enjoyed the property & want to move in for this upcoming school year! Love the look of the place & the community around it.
What can I say about Wasteland Apartments, wish I could give this place no starts but i cant. This place is a joke, for starters the staff here dont care about you. If you have a complaint they will just brush it off, this complex is so outdated from the appliances, cabinets, light fixtures and the laundry room thats a story in itself. Good luck trying to get your furniture in your apartment because the hallways are to narrow to turn your furniture in the door. Made a complaint about a neighbor because he has been too loud but the office wont do anything about it. So look elsewhere if your looking for a place to live unless you like living a dump. Dont trust the 3D images on the website they are false and if you do decide to move here ask to see the unit first before you sign because looks can be deceiving.
Their advertisements are FALSE! On their 3D model and on apartments.com they say a dishwasher will be available in the studio apartments and I was told by management that no studios have a dishwasher. Their 3D model was very inaccurate missing hardwood floors in areas, no doors on closets, missing upper cabinets in the kitchen, and an AC unit that sticks out of the wall (that was not shown at all in the model). Their sizing in the model is also off because there is no way you would be able to fit a table in the kitchen and they have their bed against the wall where there is A/C unit which makes it impossible. This inaccuracy in the 3D model they claimed is because it was done by an outside company. However, it is their job to make sure that their information is accurate. The management does respond quickly and pleasantly but I still frustrated in their refusal to acknowledge that they are falsely advertising and make it fair to those who they have wronged. I believe people need to know what they are getting before they sign a lease.
The food was good and they had games and prizes. Thank you for allowing guests
The staff is very friendly and we love all the resident events!
I moved in 2 days ago and so far it’s been a great experience. We’ve only had 2 issues with the apartment. Both of those problems were resolved in less than 2 hours! That’s amazing in my book. Sam and Jordan from the front office were absolutely professional and polite about everything that was brought up. Maintenance and house keeping were just as professional! Thanks for everything Eastland.
Eastland was good for the price. We stayed for 2.5 years because it was cheap and service was fine. Our first year was great, our second year was bad, and that last half year was pretty good. The office was consistently very friendly, maintenance always did their job pretty well when they were called (which was sometimes very quick and sometimes took a firm phone call), free resident food sometimes was nice, never had an issue if I went into the office. We did have pest (insect) issues a few times, but they were always handled somewhat quickly. Walls were NOT sound proof and we had loud neighbors, but thats not really their fault. Overall a good option for someone who needs a place for a year or two.
We have lived here for almost two years and have had a wonderful experience living here. We love the monthly activities that are arranged by the staff, and the food is always great (and even better.. free!!) Any problem that weve had has been responded to quickly by maintenance. We really havent had any major complaints while living here.
Office staff is friendly. Maintenance is always helpful. Close to everything.
We have lived here for almost 2 years and have had a very good experience. Any concerns have been handled quickly and professionally. There are different monthly activities that are fun and often very tasty :)
I lived here for going on three months now, the apartment is amazing. The community is so friendly, if you have a question they are more then willing to answer or find out the answer. The apartment staff holds events every month, which you will meet a lot of people. With lots of food which is a plus. I was even looking for a cat and so I was talking to the staff about it. Happily, Anne knew someone who was giving away their cats. So she hooked me up with them and Im so happy and grateful for her. The maintenance here are very friendly, and they help you out with anything. If something is broken, theyre usually there the same day or the next working on any issues. I recommend this place and cant wait for what the future holds of this place.
Just amazing! Ladies in the office are so helpful and go above and beyond to help you out with anything you need! Kind and polite! Such a delight!Thank You!!!!
Great location!! Right off of 28th street
Office staff was very helpful with my questions!
Quiet peaceful community and everyone is very friendly!
I would recommend this place to anyone! The leasing staff is wonderful, the property’s are very nice and well kept, the location is great and a very friendly and diverse neighborhood overall, having a pool, gym, and basketball court are great bonuses as well. Whenever I’ve had an issue maintenance has been quick to swing by and take care of it. I would also like to personally thank Kaitlyn and Anne for being great property managers and being so helpful and quick to respond to any questions or issues me and my fiancé have had. Thanks Eastland Apartments you guys are awesome!
Great location, tons of amenities and friendly staff!
Really great place to live Property Manager and staff have always been accommodating to my requests and concerns the location itself provides a nice scenery and atmosphere . Overall service and amenities are two thumbs up.
Awesome staff! Always helpful anytime I ask for anything. Community events are a plus!!
Definitely recommend this place! Its my very first apartment I share with my fiance, we bought a loft here, its been very fun and nice living here! Their office is lovely and they care about those who live here and it shows! They have a pool and a nice dog park, along with a basketball court and even a volleyball court! Im glad I moved here!
I have been living at eastland apts for one month now I love it here.
I have been a resident of Eastland Apartments for the past 4 years and have never had a problem with it. The staff in the office have always been very helpful and understanding. They go above and beyond to see that my living here is likeable. I would recommend living here to anyone looking for a good place to stay.
After reviewing the area and talking to the residents at this place I was soooo excited to move here. However, after a month and a half of having my move in date pushed back with very minimal accommodating. I really dont know if its worth it. This process is already drawn out and kind of gruelling. Being put in a situation where you were promised somewhere to live and paid 200 to reserve that spot. My move in date was literally pushed back 3 times. Ive had to call consumers and cancel 3 times as well as my renters insurance. I dont feel valued as a possible tenant. Its very frustrating !
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LIVING HERE!!!
We have resided at Eastland Apartments for a little over 2 years now. The property is well-cared for and maintenance has always been quick to address any concerns or issues we have had in the past. The last several months we have seen many positive changes made to improve the community, such as better signage, security cameras being placed on all the apartment buildings and installing key-pad locks on all building entrances. We even have a new Lending Library which seems to be a hit with the residents, both young and old!I believe these changes are the result of the new Assistant Property Manager, Anne Boley. She comes with a wealth of expertise in property management, and she has been more than helpful in addressing some concerns we have had regarding our tenancy, she is direct and straight-forward, down to earth and quick to take action with any problems or questions you may have.Eastland Apartments is taking great strides in improving the community as well as reaching out to residents for their opinions on what is working and what needs improving. Good management as well as good residents make a great community, you cannot have one without the other!
For the last four months I have had to submit a maintenance request for the A/C. The first three months it cut out because the thermostat wire is wrapped around the outside of the building and gets clipped by lawn care. The solution was to use wire nuts after each time it was run over instead of properly running it through the building. After pointing this out six weeks ago I was told they would run the wire properly and still nothing. I now have two large puddles of water accumulating in my apartment due to a “lack of charge in the AC”. This was supposedly addressed, yet water is still accumulating and I still have no cold air. I’m not typically one to post this kind of thing, but it seems to be the only means of getting their attention in any meaningful way. Perhaps, with some luck, you could end up with a problem-free unit, but I would not count on prompt and appropriate responses to your maintenance needs.
Ive lived at Eastland Apartments for almost 5 years, and have only good things to say about this place! My maintenance requests are always answered quickly. All of the staff here are so friendly, and we are lucky to have them. The office staff has changed a little over the last few years, but the new manager continues to provide excellent customer service. Although I may not live here for the rest of my life, I plan on referring as many family and friends as possible to these awesome apartments!
Ive lived here almost a year and a half and for the most part I havent had any issues. That being said, I havent received any return messages for any emails I send in, and it makes me feel like my concerns dont get heard. I cant go into the office directly to communicate them either except for Saturdays as the business hours are during the times I work. Along with this, all of their events have taken place during normal business hours, which I work, so I cant enjoy anything that happens. When I lived at my previous apartments they did evening activities during the week and on Saturdays so that many more people were able to go. Im also frustrated because they put the new security locks on the doors and I almost got locked out of the building as I still havent received the code to get in despite being told we would get it through email.
Good place to live. The staff are always so polite and helpful! The manager in the office even gave me formula for my baby! Really, really nice people. The maintenance team is also so, so kind. Ive had to call the emergency line a couple times and the people who answer are always patient. When they come into my apartment they are friendly and quick, they do a good job.Only problem I have is the basketball court. It could be cleaned up more often. Maybe a garbage can could be placed on both ends of the court? A sidewalk from the bus stop to the block the office is on would make it easier and safer for residents to get to East Paris and the bus stop, too.
Not sure why the bad reviews here! I love living at Eastland! Jordan and the office are great and my apartment is quiet and in a perfect spot. I see they are really trying to do some repairs too. The parking lot looks amazing. Thanks for all the events you throw for us too - we do appreciate it! Keep it up!
Ive lived here for almost eight years and I just love the place! Alisa, the manager, and the other consultants are always willing to go out of their way to work with you in difficult circumstances. Maintenance are professional and get your issue fixed soonest possible. Love the quiet, leafy neighborhood with wide footpaths everywhere for my jogging.... Malls, gymns, supermarkets are all at short driving distance. Great place to live!
Overall we have had a great experience! Our apartment is nice and spacious, whenever we need a repair mantience comes right away. My son loves having pool access so close and we enjoy using the basketball court. Rent is fair and its in a good area.
Love the resident events!!
I’ve been living at these apartments for 4 going on 5 years. The staffs are very helpful with any questions I have. They keep the environment clean and also quiet neighborhood to stay at.
Eastland has been so helpful to me and my family. The Asst. Manager Ann was very kind and helped us through this difficult time for our family during this Covid19 pandemic by working with us and offering us payment options so we could remain in our home. Very grateful for Eastland and their caring staff.
It’s a great place to live especially if you have kids. The staff are trying their best to make everyone’s time easier during this quarantine. They have great prices and great apartments highly recommend.
The office staff is very friendly and we love how much they do for the residents. Today they made milkshakes for everyone! ❤
I have lived here for 4 1/2 years and have no plans of moving. Very quiet and awesome amenities including pool. I love that they are dog & cat friendly & shopping is super close.
Nice buildings, great staff. A nice place to live, if being in an apartment is your thing, this is your spot. Its not a cabin in the woods, so youll probably hear a neighbor or two, say Hi, be kind! Have a great day
Ive been here for almost two years now. If youre looking for a quality and affordable place to live in Grand Rapids, this is a good spot. Decently close to the freeways, apartments arent perfect, but definitely livable, and I havent had any real issues here. Would recommend them.
This apartment complex was very overpriced, constantly had things breaking in the apartment and had multiple issues trying to get maintenance in to fix it. Along with that, my car was broken into twice and my neighbors apartment was broken into and had many items missing such as TVs. Leasing office staff was also very unhelpful. I sent multiple emails which i never received responses as well as over the phone they were never able to answer my questions or address my concerns. I would never recommend living in this apartment complex.
I lived there awhile back with my father, employees were always kind, and Maintenance was always helpful when needed. There was a fire above our apartment and water came down to our room, they replaced my bed and belongings that got ruined no problems. And got us a hotel while it was being remodeled and cleaned.
We moved in less than a month ago but had a very stress free move in process and have enjoyed our time here so far, for the most part. There were a couple things that needed to be fixed at first, but maintenance was quick to come to our aide. We are currently in one of the studios here at Eastland and although it looks small it serves its purpose and if arranged correctly feels bigger and quite homey. We can’t wait to get more involved in the community and get to know our neighbors. We love the location being so conveniently close to pretty much everything you would ever need and how peaceful and quiet it is considering the location. So far as we can tell it gets an undeserving bad rep, but we’ll keep you updated!
Weve only lived here a few months but we love our two bedroom, it gives us a lot of space for us and our dog. Some more positives are our dog absolutely loves the dog park and we love having an enclosed area so close we can take him to wear off some of that puppy energy! We also love the various resident events that they put on every month. Our first apartment we lived in didnt do that so we didnt expect that but we absolutely love it. The events make this apartment feel more homey/like a community which is great. Now no place is perfect so I will admit there were a few maintenance things that needed to be fixed when we moved in (but they were taken care of decently fast.) And we would love a little more cupboards in the kitchen but also understand thats just the limitation of apartment living.
Eastland apartments’ staff was welcoming and kind. I appreciated how on top of maintenance requests they were when necessary, and how helpful they have been with the move in process!
Eastland Apartments is such a nice community. Its so quiet and the neighbors are great. The office is very helpful! So thankful to have moved here!
I live at Eastland apartments for over a year 👍 and I can tell you that all employees are amazing ❤️the neighborhood is so quiet and respectful😌 and environment is always clean 🙂and maintenance is always there for you also as soon as you call they there for you ❤️ I don’t regret living here and by the way the building office is always so creative by always care to their attendance ❤️ one day they celebrate a dog park day and also raffles or free pizza in the most tough times 😩 thank you for always been here for us ❤️
Great staff and a nice place to live. Weve been here around 10 months and have never had a serious issue. Maintenance is friendly, quick, and always gets the job done.
I moved in a few months back and so far am very happy with it. There was a hiccup with my AC upon move in, but it was fixed ASAP and they supplied me with a temporary AC unit to use while my normal one was out. The maintenance team is very friendly as well as the staff. The rooms arent the most modern/new, but they do just fine for a college kids first home. Overall Im pretty satisfied with Eastland, and its definitely a more comfortable environment than my last apartment.
After months of calling about our toilet being backed up, it finally flooded our apartment. Amongst a long laundry list of other problems, we have been living in sewage for the last 24 hours. Horrible maintenance team that leaves you feeling neglected and ignored. Not to mention they overstay their welcome. After feeling ignored for too long we went to the office. Their supervisor was there but failed to come out and speak with us. We had to set up a meeting for the next day, and then they failed to confirm the meeting. We had to go to the office a second time before they told us they had confirmed the meeting. They cornered us into a different unit (after we had signed the lease and put consumers and renters insurance down for another, nicer unit) because the previous tenants had made it unlivable. A gutter has been hanging from our apartment for 10 days. They’ve been notified 5-6 times in this 10 day span and they have yet to do anything. They probably plan on waiting until it falls and hurts someone. This is the worst apartment I have ever lived in. This is the most non-genuine staff I have ever seen. Never ever ever waste your money and compromise your happiness and health for this sad excuse of an apartment complex.
Staff is great and we love the resident events! Thanks for the donuts and cider yesterday!
The food giveaway has been great. Thank you for that it is really an amazing thing that’s being done
I love my space so quiet and intimate....and I absolutely love the fact that its dog friendly, Ive been here two years and it has been great....the office staff was awesome with working with me after my car accident that touched my heart.... so yes 5 stars they get from me 😊👍🏾
Amazing staff
Eastland has a ton to offer. Lots of amenities and resident events. I love it here!
Nice apartments with a great dog park for my furry friend! They also do really fun community events about twice a month!
I have lived her for 5 plus years and my experience have been pretty good that staff is very polite and helpful ...the maintenance is always on time
Nice place to live. Price is great for the area it’s in! Office crew is great and the maintenance crew is awesome!
I have lived at Eastland Apartments for the last five years and have loved every minute of it. It has been a great first “home” for me. The staff is amazing and I love that it is close to everything! The pool is a huge plus in the summer too!! I recommend them highly!- Olivia Breuker (4203/204)
My studio apartment at Eastland is very comfortable. The maintenance staff is very helpful. What’s best here is the service from the entire staff. The office staff will always make sure that you and your family will feel like you are home. I am very comfortable here at Eastland; more so than I have been elsewhere.
I have lived here for 2 1/2 years and I like it. Minutes away from shopping malls and grocery stores. Quiet neighborhood, kind staff, tenant appreciation days each month.
I just finished my tour. The leasing office was a little hard to find. Once I got there the office lady Jordan was very helpful. I am going home to apply.
Everyone in the office is always happy to help. They made moving so much less stressful then it could of been. Thanks again!
Hate this apartment complex! Me and my fiance had mold growing on our walls and when winter season came along water would seek through and drip off the ceiling. All maintenance did was paint over the mold and it came back a week later. The mold got on our belongings like our dresser, and on our wall decorations. They could of given us a discount on rent or something but they did nothing. I have pics of everything but Im not sure if I can post them on here. Anyways this is the most disgusting and awful place to live.
I moved back to Michigan a couple years ago and was shocked at how hard it was to find a place to rent, especially with pets. I initially did not check into Eastland because of the reviews here. Eventually I applied and moved in. The apartment could have been in better shape but I think the leasing agent did me a favor by getting me in fast.In the last two years I have seen improvement and have grown to really like living here. They have added a few things around the property, like a dog park. All the buildings in my circle have gotten new roofs. It also seems like the people that live here have gotten better too.I have never had an issue with maintenance, every request I have submitted has been addressed in a timely manner. The guys that come to do the work are always friendly and so are the people that work in the leasing office. The grounds and the corridors within the buildings are also cleaned regularly.
I have only been here a short while but I can tell the people here work hard. Very patient with me and my frustrations, Extremely quick to work with me. Free pizza on the first week! Woo!
I lived in building 4202, in a second floor one bedroom apt.Pros:I really liked the fireplace in my apartment. It worked well, it was nice in the winter. One enviro-log would last almost four hours. My A/C worked well. The carpet was clean, looked new. Plenty of hot water. My bedroom was spacious with a nice sized closet. The pool is great in the summertime, it gets a lot of sun. There are comfy lounge chairs. There is a nice big gas grill out by the pool area. I used it during spring, summer and fall. There are grill tools for everyone to use as well. There is also a faux fireplace out by the grill which is easy to use and kind of nice to turn on while you’re grilling in the evening.Cons:Apartment was old and needed to be updated. Old cabinets in the kitchen. Drawers would fall out if you open them too far. Oven was old, stained and dirty. The burner settings on stove did not work well. Dishwasher was old and did not work well either. The apartment needed some overhead lighting. There are no overhead lights in bedroom or living room which means the only light you will get in those two spaces comes from lights/lamps you purchase yourself and plug in. The balcony is decent enough except it leaks from above. If it rains and you went to step out on your balcony to read or watch the rain, have a smoke, you will get wet. All your chairs or anything you leave out there will get wet too. The bathroom is outdated. There is very minimal cabinet space. No shelves, no medicine chest, no hooks. Pretty much nowhere to put anything except under the sink.Smoking is apparently allowed in your own apartment so if you have a neighbor who smokes, you may end up with the smell of cigarette smoke coming into your apartment, as I did. It came into my bathroom somehow so I had to keep the bathroom door shut at all times and use the overhead fan to get rid of the smell. This probably isn’t the same for everyone but whenever my upstairs neighbors would take a shower, the pipes would make a high pitched squelching tea-kettle whistling noise that wouldn’t stop until they turned the water off. This wasn’t so bad during the day but it woke me up almost every morning around 6am.The clubhouse looks very nice inside but unfortunately you can only use it during the Eastland Apt leasing office hours. You have to go to the office, give them your driver license/ID and they will give you the key to the clubhouse. When I went there, the TV was working and there were a lot of shows/movies/channels and comfy furniture for lounging. A small, clean kitchen and bathroom available there as well. The computers weren’t hooked up to the internet and only one computer had a mouse. There are no printers. I am putting the clubhouse in the “cons” list because even though the TV and couch were nice, the availability of actually being able to use it is super limited, the computers were basically useless because you could not use the internet and you could not print anything off because there were no printers.Lots of garbage in the woods surrounding the property. Garbage strewn about all over the woods by the dumpster, garbage in the woods behind car ports. I have seen raccoons by the dumpsters at night. Lots of stray cats in the area that no one seems to be doing anything about. I think a local ASPCA or something needs to be contacted to help safely capture the cats and have them spayed/neutered. Garbage alongside the road leading up to the apartments. There are no speed bumps along the main road of the apartment complex and the speed limit is not enforced. No sidewalk along main road.
The Leasing Office staff have been so helpful with my moving process!
Love the events that they host. The office girls have always been really polite and helpful. The maintenance staff responds very quickly. One of the best places in the Kentwood area to live.
Office staff was very welcoming and friendly. Community had a lot of amenities.
This apartment complex is honestly the best apartment complex I have lived at. Maintenance is quick to respond to any issue, and the office staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They are constantly improving the complex as well with new roofs and new carpeting. Eastland is great and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an apartment!
I have been here for three years. And about to sign my fourth lease. I love it here and would recommend it to anyone. Staff is friendly and maintenance is quick to respond. Quiet area and minutes away from almost everything
I have lived here for about a year and a half and I love it! It was pretty hard to find a place that was reasonable that allowed animals that didnt charge an arm and a leg. Its great for me and my pup! She just loves going to the dog park!
I would recommend Eastland apartments. The area is nice and quiet and a close distance to grocery stores. The staff has answered all of my questions and concerns. Transition to moving was good. I like living here so far.
The community has a ton to offer and the staff is very helpful.
Been living here for years and they’ve all been great!
Been here a month and Ive had nonstop issues since Ive moved in. The hot water is never hot.. even after Ive asked for it to be fixed numerous times (the other day the water was ice cold.. I couldnt even take a shower before work), the neighbors argue everyday, none of the cabinets or drawers were cleaned out before I moved in (which leads to be believe this place may not have been professionally cleaned in the first place), theres no security bars in the sliding door, and the list goes on. Theyre even charging me an extra $15 a month because they told me I had new cabinets.. come to find out they just painted over old, raggedy ones! The staff in the front office are really nice though.. but other that that, I wouldnt recommend at all. Not for the price Im paying for a studio. Not worth it!UPDATE: Still dont recommend it here.. and they need to replace the girls in the front office.. they arent friendly at all. I dont feel welcomed when I go in there, probably bevbeca theyve seen this review .
June 2019:I wouldn’t recommend this apartment, the central air here is always broken, every summer, will at least the one that I’m living in. I have been living here for a couple years and always had problems, and the worst thing is, sometimes maintenance will come by and say it’s fix but it really ain’t. I am paying 800$ to live in a sauna, which is not fair at all, I live and sleep in sweat, miserably. I can’t even cook inside my own apartment due to the temperature inside my apartment, even with the air on the room temp sits at 77-78, you can’t tell me it’s fix when the temp obviously ain’t dropping any lower than 78. Not worth the money at all! And this is a one bedroom apartment. With all the money we pay you guys I haven’t seen any improvements but catastrophes. Do something that will help benefit us as your paying customers and stop satisfying the outside of the apartments.August 2019:It’s been months and our AC is still not working..maintenance came through the other day and stated “ apparently you guys have a old unit that don’t work very good, to buy a brand new unit it’ll cost me $3000 but I can fix it for $600.” And let me remind you guys, maintenance has been very hard to reach lately and when they stop by they all say the same things and not very much considering but never actual do anything.Okay will then do something about it, it’s been all summer long that our AC is down and it is not fair that our electricity bill is still remaining expensive for no satisfaction. No wonder why the person who use to live here moved out, can possibly be due to this activity, which is not fair at all, AC stays broken and people stay moving in and out. Great way to cheat your customers Eastland apartment. This is very poor service. It’s funny how AIR CONDITIONING is listed on top 5 of Amenities on the home page of Eastlang apt. What a shame, what an embarrassment.
I live here now. I really like the staff in the office. Leah helped my boyfriend and I get an apartment very quick considering his job was being moved and we needed to find a new apartment. I really like the apartment complex itself, I live in a one bed/ one bath, would like a 2 bed. Kitchens are a bit dated, but the walk in closet is a plus. Overall place is quiet and now parking is great because they fixed the potholes. I do have one MAJOR issue. There is no lock on the main entry into each building. With that said anyone can enter into the apartment building no questions asked. It is a major security issue, and I understand in order to fix the issue Eastland would have to put new door knobs on every main entry, but I am sure that would bring peace-of-mind to all residents. Even if that mean a bit more expensive rent it would be worth it. Needless to say I like the apartment, but due to how little security I am on the fence about signing another year lease.
They want to charge you a mandatory $200 admin fee to “hold” an apartment for me you.. what a slick way to get $200 than after reading all the bad reviews I’m sure they will say you lied in the app and keep your money.. this place sounds shady I’m gunna listen to the other reviews and stay far away
The office is a welcoming place. Everyone is always happy to help!
Great location. Easy access to lots of shopping, restaurants, and much more on 28th st. The community has a ton of ammenities that we love having access to. Also, the staff is very friendly and helpful.
I’ve been staying here for 3 years and I love it. Friendly staff and neighbors
Web site looks good
What a nice community. Lived for 4 years at Eastland and was a nice home. Office staff always helpful. Maintenance is farley quick. Thanks
My truck been broken into 3 times in one month. First it was my bike than it was my ID and card and today my fishing pole. When I spoke to the office, they told me its tuff times for everyone at this time . Well, its been really tuff for me at this moment also . Just wondering how many more people this happened to and the office is not letting people know .
Great location, close to everything & around the corner from my work.
Couldnt be happier. Friendly office staff, great maintenance staff, reasonable pricing.Several fun gatherings throughout the year. Pig roast, spaghetti dinner, and others.
