Chase from Desert Winds wireless was our installer and he was punctual, efficient and extremely knowledgeable he did an excellent job installing the cable for us and had us up and running super fast. Before he left he made sure that everything was just how we wanted it. We were very pleased with our installer Chase and would strongly recommend Desert Winds Wireless. It is amazing to have such fast internet so far out of town.

The installer Oscar Sanchez was 15 minutes early for the appointment. He explained, he was going to try to find the best signal without having to attach the small satellite on the roof or siding to minimize structural damage to the property. I trusted him to do a professional job with the wiring and he did. I am very impressed and grateful because I do not have to worry about the owner of the property getting upset. If he was to move on to a different company and he would tell me it was a better internet provider I would say sign me up. Good installers are hard to come by. Bad installers can ruin it for the internet companies and damage our property.

With tele-working, zoom-school, it always feels like such an emergency when internet goes down. The folks on the phone were helpful and supportive, our tech, Oscar showed up three hours EARLY for our appointment and communicated thoroughly with us. When the fix didnt fix we had 2-3 employees calling, text messages from the service crew following up and helping rectify the situation. We are grateful and appreciative to the Desert Winds team.

I had this service for 10 years. It got pretty bad and we quit using them. We dont have a lot of options in our area. I contacted them as they have new owners. Edited 10/236/2020: Our connection keeps dropping and on top of it, we need a little more bandwidth, like a 30x5 connection to run our home business. After my husband spent 30 min on the phone we were told that they would call back with an estimate. Never got a call. Then our neighbor told us they were told too many people were pulling from the tower and that is probably why they are not wanting people to upgrade. I am not sure of the issue, but we loved these guys, and not sure what is going on... their communication is going downhill. I get, sometimes you have too many customers, but not communicating es no bueno.Original: Small shop, so you get great personal interaction. They respond quickly if there happens to be an outage. Nathan is GREAT! He has to come out for a tree causing issues, and he also saw an issue with a laptops speed, and reset our router and it fixed it! I give them 5 stars for their awesome service, but the price I give 3 stars. They know they are the only ones that give service out here, so, we pay quite a lot for a 10x3 service. ($130/mo) they also have a portal to pay through and you can set up auto pay.

There are several options that I could have in the area where I live. I have found that Desert Wind Wireless has been very responsive to meet the needs of my household. I am extremely happy with the quality and professionalism that I have received through this company. I highly recommend them because they are willing to work with you and provide you the best wireless Internet you can get. I have been a customer with them for four years.

I initially spoke to Dena who was very helpful with selecting the right plan and understood that we wanted an internet service that not only delivered the speed advertised, but was also customer service oriented- I think we have finally found such a company!! Watch out Frontier . . . Desert Winds Wireless actually delivers!!!! I’ve had Frontier DSL forever - It was our only option for WiFi where we live in Richland. But then I heard about Desert Winds from my neighbor. I had nothing to lose. We were paying for Frontiers highest plan and on a good day we’d have speeds of 2Mbps or 3Mbps. It was horrible.But Nathaniel from Desert Winds came out last week and WOW!!!!! I can actually stream a YouTube video with no buffering, I have WiFi Everywhere in my house, there are no dead spots.The best part about the switch was the customer service. I wasn’t just an account number, I was a real person to Nathaniel and he took the time to explain all of the things that I didn’t know (and there were a lot)!If you live in Richland WA then you need Desert Winds as your internet provider.

I have had internet with them for 2 yeara everything was fine for a year, then they did a update to thier towers and quality went way down. The kept telling me to up my speet so I went up to the 79.99 per month they told me it would fix the problem. I cant streem a vudu video to save my life! Its been over a year and they cant figure it out. Waiting for another company to offer internet in my location and I am gonna switch. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND HEADACHE!!! If you have another option for internet DO NOT go with desert wind!

Been with out internet for close to a year in a half, all major telecommunications refused to hear me out or even listen to my offer of paying to install another line to an existing account. Found desert wireless through my work they installed many houses out in the sticks, Nathan installed and had me running in under a hour good response and straight forward answers . I lost internet service on Saturday. I called the office but there was no one there until Monday. On Monday I was told that the soonest they could get someone there to fix it was Wednesday.The technician did come on Wednesday and fixed it. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. He replaced the radio. I have internet service again. I wish they could have repair service on the weekends and could take care of problems sooner.

I love Desert Winds, we switched about a year ago from a major internet service that went out all the time. Desert Wind very rarely goes out, when it does its easy to restore! My only issue is the guy that came a out to install everything didnt do that great of a job, kinda sketchy setup but we will live with it 😏 Thank you Desert Winds!

Oscar came out to help with a router problem that had been very challenging and time consuming to get fixed. I had already sunk four hours into it between tech support and the office. He got here and had it up and running in five mins flat! Amazing and my favorite person of the day!

The original owner of this company actually sold it to another company. He did this because he knew that Desert Winds Wireless was inevitably doomed to fail in a bustling and competitive landscape of internet providers in the Tri-City area.To offer some perspective, Desert Winds 10 mbps plan runs for a whopping $150. For this price, other providers in the Tri-Cities are offering more than quadruple this service speed for less than 1/3 of the price Desert Winds charges. Oh, and this is all speculative as to whether or not youll even be able to use the service at all. With nearly weekly outages, you will be spending your hard earned dollars on frustration and commuting to places that have a reliable service. If you purchase this service, you will spend very much time on the phone with a representative inquiring why your service is down. With which they will bombard you with false promises of a more consistent service which they will inevitably fail to provide. They will also quite pathetically beg you over the phone to not ditch their service like everyone else is doing. But listen here, the owner ditched the company for a reason and you should too. After personally speaking to an engineer on the Desert Wind team, I can confirm that the hardware of this company is some of the most archaic available. Not to mention that the management of the engineer team is allegedly incredibly poor.To summarize, Desert Winds provides an unreliable and uncompetitive service for a premium price. The only things this company nails consistently is the collection of your money and pandering customer service. Stay away.

Pretty solid wireless network

Oscar came out and set up our internet, he transferred and set up the internet to our new WiFi router we recently got. He made sure everything was working before he left, he was very respectful and professional.

Nathan was extremely helpful and continued to assist and answer all of our questions even after the installation. We now have a perfect wifi connection!

I’ve have Desert Winds wireless for almost 9 months now, so far pretty good being that the wind in my area is very strong, They are responsive in a timely manner. I would recommend them to family and friends!

When our previous provider announced they were removing themselves from our market, we werent sure what we were going to do. Just so happened, Dustin came along and gave us an option. We helped by providing an option to give them access to customers in our immediate area and DWW has been great for us over the last 5 years. Ive even referred a friend from up by Cheney, whos area is limited in good internet options. She is a teacher, her husband a school administrator and with 2 college age girls at home, they are struggling with a bad service in a rural area. Hope it all works out for both sides. :-) Mikel M. When we first began service with Desert Winds, we were quite surprised with their quick speeds and friendly staff. That quickly changed. As problems arose, the staff showed their true colors; that they do not care to fix the problem or satisfy the customer. There has been MULTIPLE occurrences where our internet has gone out, one time being for FIVE days. When we called they were short and said someone would call us back...and they never did. Not once but six times now, this has happened. They promise to call back, never do, then get annoyed when you call again. We pay $130 a month to have our internet not work in the evenings at all. They reimbursed us one time only (for that 5 days they chose not to come fix our WiFi,) and that was because I had to call to remind them after the payment went through that they did not give the discount I was told I would get. The staff is not helpful, not apologetic for their poor service, and they are extremely over priced for the quality of service they provide. I would have called to give them this message personally, but I would get no response.

We live in rural North Pasco area. We’ve been with Desert Wind Wireless for about 2 years. We have good internet service and although there have been issues with the internet, they’ve usually been resolved quickly and I appreciate the call back even on the weekends.

Internet is very spotty. Goes in and out all the time. We live on outskirts of town. They are only internet option for us. We have had multiple calls to them for issues. While they are quick and pleasant on phone, it doesnt fix the longterm issue of the spotty service. Makes working from home very hard sometimes and creates longer workdays due to lack of connectivity.I also recently called them at 515 pm. (They close at 530pm). I was caller # 1. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes, I was sent to VM. I then called right back and was caller # 2. Not sure what the issue is... as it keeps upping my hold times and asking me to go to VM. I never did get to talk to someone as I had to leave a message. Lets see if they actually call back.FYI took forever to write this as internet went in/out. Even though I called them earlier today and they reset everything and fixed the problem.UPDATE. Internet is still the same... has moments of lapse. I see that they only have 1 person available after 5pm. That person DID call me back and I was able to voice my concerns and they were able to provide a possible solution to the internet problem. While I stand-by that the service is not the greatest, so far they have proven to me to have good customer service. That does stand for something. If only the review could break it down versus internet connection and customer service. I would still rate the internet service as so-so, but would give them a high-rating for customer service. They were helpful and actually quick to respond. I was pleasantly surprised by that part.

I have used DWW for at least 5 years. On the 2 occasions I had problems, I notified them and they dispatched Fast Eddie (my nickname for him) and he fixed it capably and pleasantly.

If I could I wouldnt even give you a one star. Customer service sucks, they bill you late charges even though you send in your money like clock work, than say well we havent checked the mail in a while. Thank God that people dont have to use them, they will soon go down because of customer service. Thumbs down plus they hang up on you and never return phone calls. Ugh!

I have been with Desert Wireless for more than 6 years in the last 3 years Ive had the same problem three to four times a day I have called them and still has not yet in 3 years have they came are called me to fix the problem

Absolute garbageThe prices are outrageous for what you get if you even have connection at all.Internets fine some days then others it just flickers on and off constantly.The best part is most of the time it happens on the weekends so they wont fix the problem. You just get told thats too bad, rip you bucks kiddo.If this provider is you only option I recommend buying a new house.

My husband and I have been with this company for a few years, all in all they have one nice staff member that has always been kind and only one nice tech person Ive repeatedly delt with. The problem is Ive repeatedly dealt with them. It doesnt matter if we have the cheaper package or the most expensive one. The service is the same, it sucks. Always cutting in and out, time of day or the day doesnt matter. One lady that helps likes to talk to me like Im stupid.

Best internet option over satellite internet

We had a special dish mounted on our roof to locate the best signal. This was a higher bracket mount rather than the normal dish mounted on side of roof edge. We were Impressed with their quality of work, and we have had super high winds past 2 weeks, with no interruptions. I found when I spoke to our local Desert Winds Wireless office, I was patiently walked through questions and found the right answers. Another time, I had questions and found exactly how to manage it with a mere conversation from the nice man, Carlos. We are liking our new service and the people we have had contact with. Professional and Friendly.

The installation manager came to our residence today to connect service. We were very very impressed, with his professionalism, and his courtesy. He was thorough, and did a great job. I am over the moon excited to have service that is reliable, for a reasonable rate in our home. Thank you Desert Winds Wireless!

Horrible service. Extremely inconsistent. Out connection cuts out multiple times a day and kicks all of our devices off. Not only is the actual service terrible their customer service is awful! Emails are never returned. Office/customer service is closed on weekends....when the service regularly goes out. If you are actually able to get someone on the phone during the week it will take well over an hour to get any answers. They are also unwilling to discount your bill when their service is not working. Would not recommend.
