Wendy Ezell and associates helped my husband and I file our personal taxes, and subsequently my business taxes for 2016. Although the junior associates did our taxes, we were assured that Wendy reviewed each tax return thoroughly. We always struggled with having good, clear communication between Wendy and her staff,but this became even worse after allowing her to do my Partnership 1065 for 2016 for my business. Prior to them filing our taxes, our Office Manager sat with their associates to review our accounting books extensively to be sure everything was in shape to do our taxes. However; when our CFO reviewed our 2016 taxes he discovered an approximately $100,000 discrepancy in our books within 30 minutes that Wendy missed, which meant we overpaid the IRS by over $30,000. When brought to her attention, she tried repeatedly to blame us for their mistake, taking NO accountability for the HUGE mistake. After the dust had settled from this, they sent us a bill for over $4,000 for the time and research it took them to realize the mistake our CFO found was in fact, accurate. Then about 30 days later, I was in need of a document from my PERSONAL tax return from 2016. Wendy refused to give me the document until the bill from my BUSINESS was paid in full. I spoke with her personally on the phone and told her that my business was separate from my personal accounts with her in which she stated that she did not care and would not give me the personal document until my business bill was paid. I told Wendy on the phone that this was extortion (as in it literally fits the legal definition) but to no avail. I have since removed ALL of my business accounts (3 in total) as well as my personal accounts from her office. DO NOT TOUCH THIS OFFICE WITH A 10 FOOT POLE, unless you would like to overpay the IRS. She has NO morals and no ethics.

Met with Wendy Ezell on March 4th to engage her firm to produce the Trust taxes for my dads Trust. This was for Federal and State Returns. I provided all the documentation at the initial meeting. That was the last communication I had with Ms. Ezell. I sent many emails and voicemails asking for status. On April 10th, I sent an email giving a deadline to either provide an exact date for delivering the returns or to return the documentation to me. The deadline passed on April 13th with no contact from Ms. Ezell. I terminated services on April 14th. I engaged another CPA firm to get things done. It was not until April 14th that she even responded to any email. Told her that she was too late and to return my documents. She still has not done either. Does not respond to any form of communications. I have filed a professional complaint with the State of Texas as this behavior is not acceptable.

Spoke to Wendy, who took the time to answer all of my questions. She has the heart of a teacher which is what I look for in any professional.Thank you Wendy and I look forward to working with you in the future.Best,Greg.

We came here because of Dave Ramsey Endorsed Local Providers. Please read this and avoid coming here maybe check if there’s another local endorsed local provider. We had a horrible experience. They had us do the extension, and called us at 11:58pm the night it was due to “check and approve” we hardly had time to sign it before we had to turn it in much less check anything. Bottom line we are never using their services again and will be getting a second opinion.

We’ve been going to Wendy for several years. She does a great job with our taxes and she builds projections for the next year based on changes in the tax code. She’s easy to talk to, answers all your questions and gives great tax advice.

You might as well have turbo tax do your taxes and not waste your money with these people. I took my taxes there thinking a CPA would do them, but they have tax preparers that have as much tax code knowledge as a hobo under a bridge doing your taxes. They then glance at them before they send them off to the IRS. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Why pay 10 times what H&R Block would charge you or Turbo Tax for the same thing? This bait and switch operation should really be shut down.

Wendy has been doing our returns for 10+ years and has literally saved us thousands. Communication with both her and her staff has been easy and frequent. She has been thorough and often has suggested deductions we should be taking we were unaware of. With her advice we have been able to reduce our tax liability considerably. The entire experience makes it obvious you are dealing with someone who cares and will not compromise values for the almighty $. This is not the tax clerk in Walmart or H&R Block that was trained yesterday. You have to be careful who you trust these days with your personal financial information and Wendy is someone who can be trusted.

I have made Wendy Ezell my CPA for life. Wendy is so talented, and helped me through a very challenging period when i needed help with my finances. She is a very good coach too. I wish her and her staff all the best.

This was mine and my husbands first time working with a CPA and we were a little concerned about being hustled into something we didnt need or want to do. We came across Wendy from Dave Ramseys list of ELPs (Endorsed local providers) while working through his Financial Peace University program. We went to see her for a meet-and-greet to get some advice on our taxes. We had recently had some things come up that would make next years tax return more complicated than in the past and we were concered. She was very pleasant and honest with us about what we should do and even told us up-front that we would probably be fine to do our tax return this year through a free site like H&R Block since we only had W-2s and nothing out of the ordinary to claim/file. She never once tried to sell her services to us. She even gave us some great advice about future financial planning. My husband and I both left there feeling great and confident about our taxes. We plan on having Wendy take care of our taxes and I know we will have nothing to worry about which makes our lives much less stressful. We know she will be very professional and diligent with our taxes to ensure we get the best possible return. We highly encourage anyone to at least set up a meet-and-greet with her if they are even the slightest bit interested in having a CPA or if they have any questions about their taxes.

Just like previous reviews, lack of responses. Inaccuracies, no attention to detail. What a waste of time. Clearly stated exactly what i wanted before i hired them. Dropped the ball from there. They dont respond. They do like to send you agreement with price without discussing break down of it or responding to countless unanswered emails. Imagine that.If you really care about your finances you will find somewhere else. Luckily I did.

Since 2015, Wendy & her staff have provided excellent service for our personal Income Taxes as well for our Non-profit 501 (c) (3). Highly recommend !

My husband and I also contacted Wendy Ezell due to Dave Ramseys endorsement, which we will never do again. If I were to write a detail review on our experience with Wendy it would sound very similar to other reviews...I wish I would have read these prior to hiring her. She was a great disappointment! Let me just say, if I were you, I would make note of the several posts with very similar experiences being shared...missed deadlines, unreturned emails & voice messages, unfulfilled commitments...complete incompetency! In our case she actually admitted she dropped the ball and had no excuse for it...and she STILL had the audacity to charge us $2000.00! Unbelievable! I not only wouldnt recommend Wendy Ezell, but I now question Dave Ramseys organization for their continual endorsement of Wendy Ezell.P.S. Wendy...when you read this review and write your rebuttal...Im still waiting on our itemized invoice for the $2,000.00 you charged us.

When I first met with Wendy, I was encouraged. She seemed professional and responsive, however, when I checked in 6 weeks later, everything changed. She said my returns had been completed by her junior accountant and were sitting on her desk waiting for her signature. A major portion of the job I hired her for was to also review my previous two returns as I had been retroactively paid a large amount of income that should have been paid across the previous three years. Since it apparently could be claimed as income this year or retroactively over the years it should have been paid, it was important to determine which filing approach was preferable. This is important to know because my current return couldnt have been completed without the others also being done. So, I inquired about the others and the corresponding assessment. This communication took place via email. We went back and forth over the course of 10 minutes. I first inquired about the status of my returns. Then, suddenly when I inquired how one return could be done without the others, she went radio silent. I waited for a week and again emailed her for an update but didnt get a reply. I waited another week and called. Her assistant answered and said she was on the other line. I asked that she call back asap but again nothing. I was dumbfounded. The emails had been friendly yet after six weeks of answering her junior accountants questions and sending information and documentation, she just completely left me out to dry only a few weeks before tax day. She couldve said, gee I forgot, give me some more time or I need more time, can we file for an extension, but to say she could do the job, waste over a month of my time and the. just stop responding with no indication as to why she couldnt get it done, well, thats completely unprofessional and disrespectful.

In my 20 years of having my taxes done i have never dealt with such an incompetent staff. I had to go in 3 times to tell them how I wanted to file. My taxes were handed off to 3 different people in the office. And every time I had to tell each one how I was filing because they were not sharing my information. Total waste of time and money. The only reason I gave a star is because I couldnt put anything smaller.

We have used Wendy Ezells tax office for several years and find them friendly, accurate and very understanding of our life styles. I would highly recommend their services.

Last years taxes were fulfilled by this company and the experience was less than desirable. The communication was lackluster and close to non-existent and the service was not personable. The accountant who performed the filing called and scheduled an appointment to meet up on a Saturday afternoon to go over the forms and never showed up to the appointment. By chance, another accountant was in the office and was able to help us understand why the refund amount was half the amount we were told it would be. We only went with this company because they were a Dave Ramsey ELP and trusted that branding. Thankfully, they are not listed as an ELP currently. I would not recommend using this tax company.

Long story short: her office was not communicative, not timely, and was starting to scare me that they were even legitimate at all. I gave 2 stars because at least they did the job eventually.I used Wendy Ezells office for my 2015 tax return. Much of my income was earned overseas and I went through her office specifically for help with foreign earned income complications.Her office failed to address those concerns on the first attempt at my return. They finally had a return done over 3 months after submitting my paperwork. It was almost impossible to communicate with them as they were unresponsive via email and their secretary was a wall on the other end of the phone that usually wouldnt let me speak to anyone.They finally submitted my return after I advised that my next call would be to the IRS for assistance. They didnt even let me review my return first before submitting it. I was surprised because I thought something required my signature before it could be submitted.

Wendy is apparently overloaded as her response to emails and voicemails is nonexistent. Delivered taxes on March 28th and as of June 20, still no progress. Picked up my taxes from her and took them to someone who had the time and did not treat me as I was her lowest priority. Shame on Dave Ramsey for recommending her to others.

I hired Wendy to review my taxes plan for the 2016 tax year and plan ahead for 2017 - specifically because she was a Dave Ramsey ELP (Endorsed Local Provider). I paid the fee for her to review my information and was provided with vague guidance to one part of my inquiry by a junior member of her team. The remainder of my questions went unanswered despite multiple emails. Wendy would email asking if I had any follow-up questions and I would reply with the question - only to never receive a response. It seemed to be an automated email. I have since retained another CPA and am disappointed in the fee I paid Wendys office NOT to have my questions answered. I will not recommend Wendy Ezell, PLLC for any personal tax services.

Enforcement at tsbpa.texas.gov is where people can file any sort of complaint, even just if you had a bad experience. Another way is through the IRS, but if you just do one, use the email enforcement at tsbpa.texas.gov.First, I want to say, I believe Robins comment below over the response from the owner. Now our story. My husband and I had a bad experience. We also had our documents handed off from Levi, to Joey, to Robert. Robert, who works for wendy was supposed to get our transcripts so we could be advised on what to do. He never did it and we paid $1700 for a few pages of book keeping and our return for ONE YEAR and when my husband asked him where the transcripts were last week he has the courage to want to charge him all over again to do it AND wanted to put it off! that guy kept making mistakes and apologizing for them in emails and in person. we chose NOT to use them again and i have not gotten a reply from wendy herself. My husband and I will call the IRS and state gov. make bad video reviews soon unless she gets back to us. Frankly, I suspect that wendy simply does not know that robert dropped the ball but she also did not get back to us.

I was referred to Wendy Ezell and am very thankful I was. Initially I had a tax question I needed answered and she returned my call immediately willing to not only answer my questions but also provided me with suggestions on how to best solve the issue I had.As we continued speaking I decided to ask her to review my previous years return for accuracy. I was able to load my previous years return to her secure site which provided her access almost immediately. Within about 24 hours shed already reviewed my 2016 tax return and provided additional advice on where I could make adjustments to increase my return for the following year. Her fees are very reasonable and unlike online do-it-yourself tools, by using Wendys services one not only ensures accurate tax returns but also benefits from her knowledge in other areas such as making the most of your FSA, HSA, 401k and a number of other tax deferred and retirement savings plans.Another excellent added benefit is the Ms. Ezell is endorsed by the Dave Ramsey Show. Dave Ramsey is a well known speaker who has devised a program to help people gain financial independence and become debt free. The program, if followed is very successful. So, for those currently following his program or those interested in beginning the program, Ms. Ezell is knowledgeable of the program and can aid those with achieving their goal of financial freedom.I am very thankful to Wendy for all her help and advice and will no longer be using online tools for tax returns or other financial questions. I am very pleased with her services and very thankful for the advice which she was able to provide me.
