My spouse and I decided to seek therapy during separation. On the first session, there seemed to be a bias/favoritism established. It began when Mariah asked my husband what he does for a living. She then described how a family member of hers was a prominent archaeologist as well. Cool, no big deal. But then later on in the session she described wanting to know what Meyers Briggs personality we were. When my husband said his, she shared that that’s what she is as well and she went on to disclose that she tends to only hire people of that personality. That is stating a preference. I also chose to overlook this. On our second session, her bias became a lot more clear just in the difference in her manner of speaking to us and her individual approach. Some really big problems of my spouse’s seemed to become non-issues and weren’t really addressed meanwhile she used severe language with mine. Just the difference was obviously unfair, that I would not recommend her to any family or friends for this kind of work.
Mariah has done amazing things for my family. While she is primarily the childrens therapist she takes the time regularly to check in on me and my own therapy journey with my own therapist as well as taking the time to work with us on our family healing and teaching us to be a closer and tighter knit unit. She is amazing.
Great experience! Mariah is a gift and wonderful therapist for our family. Would highly recommend her!
Shes great with our son
