The food was good however it took forever to receive our order and some of the food was cold. Which leaves the question why was it cold if it took this long to get it. The food did have flavor and was tasty. I would go back

On Tuesday, they have their puffy taco, that is so good! Normally one can fill me since it comes with beans and rice, but if I am really hungry I get two. They are much bigger then your normal taco, in a soft and fluffy flour shell. You can get beef or chicken, both are good though I like the chicken more! They also give you this as my daughter calls it a drop of heaven, which is some sort of sweet corn mush that is a great way to finish the meal! There just needs to more of it! lol! Anyways, go on Tuesday and enjoy the puffy taco!!!

I was largely neutral to the whole experience. The food was only okay and everything was over salted. Our server was great, but that wasnt enough to offset the mediocrity that was the test of the experience. Next time, I will likely try a different restaurant.

Host up front was rude, person that came out to give us food made us feel like we were inconveniencing him. Waitress was not very familiar with menu items.Food was pretty good, not as good as the liberty Jose pepper, espinaca was cold before we got our food.

The WORST ToGo experience I have ever had.I am a server, so I am pretty understanding and always offering food service employees the benefit of the doubt. To me, it’s pretty obvious that this restaurant is pressed for employees and is settling for the bare minimum to keep the place open.I called to place a ToGo order, the phone rang for forever before someone answered and she put me on hold for 7 minutes. She obviously had forgotten. I hung up and called back to have the same girl answer and act annoyed that I wanted to order food. Placed the order.My boyfriend shows up to pick up the food and the host goes into the kitchen to retrieve the order. There are at least 9 dirty tables with the employees grouped in the back chatting while one worker is constantly asking them to clean their sections.It has reached 10 minutes that he was been waiting when he asked another employee where the host went and he needs his Togo order. Instead of going and finding her the employee goes back to her coworkers to chat again. The host comes out of the kitchen and tells him the food will be ready shortly. This was all 30 minutes after I made the initial order and they said to come in 15 minutes.I make this post not to complain, but to urge management to do some serious improvement with their service standards and employee conduct. I know places are short staffed right now and y’all are taking what you can get but this location is not achieving the bare minimum of food service. There were at least two parties who came in to eat while the host was gone and they left. You are literally losing business from the shortcomings of your staff. I hope y’all figure it out.

Food was great as usual for Jose Peppers but the service was slow and our waitress had a terrible attitude. I really dont like having my waitress roll her eyes at me. I go to the location in Liberty or Lees Summit at least once a week and Ive never been treated so badly. When we first arrived it took about 10 minutes for someone to come to greet us. When he finally got there we told him we had 11 in our party and he said he didnt know what to do so again we waited....this time about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes a woman asked if we were waiting to be seated. By this point we were all frustrated and our waitress didnt help that at all. Definitely a bad experience and Definitely not up to the standards Ive come to expect from Jose Peppers. Maybe I should keep my business at the liberty and Lees Summit locations

We stopped in for a quick bite after running errands. It was busy but we were seated right away. Doug was our waiter and he was on point. I’ve been to several other locations but this one definitely won us over. Everyone we came in contact with was very friendly and definitely worked well together. Food came out fast and was hot. I’ll come back just for the service Doug offered. I had a drink ready when I was getting close to the end and our salsa was always refilled without having to ask. I know he was busy as we saw him serving tables, but he was definitely observant. Very clean restaurant, plenty of parking and safe area. Combo # 5 is 🔥

Food was good and fresh tasting. Bartender kinda sucked at making drinks though. Waitress was really good. The thing I dont like is that they leave the dirty dishes on the table till u leave. Me and my sister got another drink after eating too catch up and chat and the waitress just left everything there. It was not busy at all when we ate too.

Food - 4 stars. I was craving mexican and this didnt disappoint.Service - 1 star. I saw our server (Michael according to the ticket) grab the tip from underneath the chip bowl at another table while the couple/family was still there! He had his mask around one ear and was not wearing it properly (like why have it on if you arent going to wear it?). We were there for an hour and didnt get our waters refilled once despite them being empty on the edge of the table. He gave us our check in between the 2 empty waters as soon as our food got to the table (we hadnt even unraveled the silverware!). While we were eating and trying to enjoy our dinner he came up and shook the check on the table saying something along the lines of the checks here. This was after he came by and tried giving us the check again but mumbled oh I already gave you the check. We asked for a to-go box and he threw it in the middle of the table on top of our food! When we paid for our meal he threw the card and check down in the middle of the table! We were wrapping things up and he came by AT LEAST 5 TIMES to try and get the check while we were still at table! All the while our waters sat empty. We also noticed he had a total of 3 tables and treated them the same. There was no wait for tables so they were not busy. So disrespectful and rude.

Very average Tex-Mex dining experience for us. Service was friendly, but spotty. Food was a mixed bag. The kids Chicken Tenders were bad, but the Carnitas Tacos were pretty good. Restaurant was really cold and Im a guy that typically runs a little hot, so if I think its cold then its probably freezing. I wouldnt avoid the place, but I wouldnt seek it out either. I will say that this shopping area was PACKED on the Saturday we visited and it was the middle of lunch rush but this restaurant was pretty empty. Perhaps everyone else finds it as ho-hum as I did?

On August 14th I and my family went out for my birthday and wanted to go to Jose Peppers for my birthday dinner. When the host sat us down she sat us down next to the freezer!! (A/C) he took our drinks and didnt listen. When I asked or when I was trying to say Im ready to order. He quickly ignored me and left and I know he heard me. Just rude! Didnt get his name but he had reddish-brown hair and was super tall. ( I did speak to the manager and informed him that he was very neglectful, etc. Got another waiter and she was sweet ended up getting giving her a $15 tip.)

Was my first time trying here, came for happy hour with my boyfriend and was awful. We sat ourselves at the bar, got our drinks and then our bartender/server disappeared for a while. Other employees including the manager were just eating and talking around us. We got our appetizer before our chips n salsa which a different server brought out. Our server/bartender came back to get our order then disappeared again. We waited forever for Refills on drinks and had to holler at staff from across the bar to take care of us because they were being neglectful. Our food took a while and 1/2 Came out cold. Disappointed and also they werent even busy...

Wonderful pork carnitas tacos. Just on our way through town on a long road trip and stumbled upon Legends shopping mall, all outdoor, very nice to be outside! Great margaritas and guacamole too!

Hands down the worst service I have experienced at a restaurant. None of the food came out at the same time. Multiple people at the table received their food almost 20 minutes after the first few plates were delivered.The waitress had to be reminded of orders, food and drinks had to be ordered again, due to her inefficiency. None of the drinks were refilled at the table during our meal. We had water delivered to the table with a dead fly at the bottom of the cup.The bathroom was in complete disarray. The trash was overflowing and there was toilet paper all over the floor.I will never recommend this location to anyone. I will not be back to this restaurant. Save your money and go someplace else.

Good Margaritas! Friendly staff until the new bartender showed up. Never acknowledged me. Had an empty glass pushed forward and never asked if I needed another or anything. Only conversation I had with her is when I had to ask her for another drink. I actually closed out my tab with someone else when they asked me if I needed anything else. Hope its a rare miss

The food is great. But the customer service when picking up an order placed online is at best poor. You end up waiting for the waitress that is serving other customers in the area. To take everyones order. Before giving you your order. Even know it is 5 to 8 minutes. After the schedule pickup time. Mind you I was 5 minutes early to pick up my order.The management team of this location needs the staff more people.

Love that its kid friendly, and the food is consistently good. Service is VERY hit and miss. Also, itd be nice if they either offered balloons or not. Ive taught my girls that its rude to ask for free things, so when they see other kids offered/given balloons, then they arent, its frustrating.

Beer was cold and served with a smile by the bartender. 4 of us all enjoyed our food. Definitely return.

I liked how this place has a happy hour everyday till 6pm. My husband and I got the 2 for $9 margaritas. They were ok, not as strong as I am used to from our local Mexican restaurant. I had the Anniversary margarita and it was way better!! The food was good! Many different things to choose from! Their ESPINACA CON QUESO dip was amazing! Salsa was good too not very spicy.

The service was excellent! We ordered al a carte from the menu and asked for a few changes to a couple of the items. Our server did fantastic, and our order was fresh and delicious.

First impression “oh no” I knew it was gonna be on the smaller side because it’s at an outlet but I wasn’t expecting this. One of bartenders is wearing a mask but below her chin so what’s the point of wearing it. Half of my chips were uncooked sadly but the waitress was new and was trying her best which I appreciate. Never got a refill on my drink or salsa when they said they’d bring me another which no biggie, my corn masa dry and fell apart. The person training my lovely waitress totally shut her out completely and threw her to the wolves that poor waitress is drowning while the trainee was laughing behind the bar watching her. Don’t go to this restaurant

The past 2 times I have gone here have been awful.The first time my group ended up leaving because we stood at the front for 5 minutes and no one even came to seat us. The second time we sat at our table for close to 10 minutes without anyone even stopping to get our drink orders. Then we got nothing but attitude from the staff. Not impressed & will not be coming back

I called before coming inside for a wait time and was told it would be 5 min. We waited 30. The GM was nice and made a good hurricane that I asked and she took our order but the rest of the wait staff was very young, inexperienced, and acting unprofessional. My wife didnt get her refried beans and the waitress that took over for the GM didnt act on requests and was just not good. Dont go to the Legends. The one on Midland dr much better.

Love the place and very tasty food. Its at a really prime place and reasonable price food..I would have given a 5 star if not for the receptionist who took us to our tables. She was really rude and unfriendly.. hope they tell her that to change her attitude towards the customers.

We live in KCK so we prefer authentic Mexican but went here for something different and the authentic Mexican restaurants close at 8pm during the week. Food was alright. The little Hispanic lady taking care of us was the absolute best and I think the only person working out on the floor.

First time I have ever eaten here. They were so fast and my food so hot. It was amazing. Service was great too. They sanitized tables before every guest sat down. I loved that I could get a side salad rather than the beans and rice as a side. I ordered a burrito and it was huge and delicious. Definitely cant wait to eat here again.

I dont know why I continue to bother with this place. This was our favorite casual dining spot for so long and it has just gotten progressively worse. I know for a fact it is the same manager because I see him most every time we go in there. Sir, your customer service at this location is greatly lacking.Last night we went again hoping things would be better. We were seated and it was at least 10 minutes before a server came to our table to take a drink order and greet us. We had been sitting long enough that we were at least able to place out entire order with her. After that she was pretty much a ghost. We had to flag other servers down to get refills on drinks.In all of this, my wife took a bite of her taco and was stabbed in the mouth by a toothpick. Luckily it ways to bad as she caught it before there was any real injury. Really? A toothpick!? We had to flag our server down when she finally made a rare appearance inside the area we were seated. We informed her of what had happened and asked if that was normal. Her response was, Oh ya sorry about that. Apparently the kitchen is supposed to take those out and she was going to let them know. Are you kidding me? You had a customer that had a toothpick jammed into their gumb and your response is sorry about that? We werent asking for a free pass but you could have offered to comp that one taco, or the cheese dip for christs sake. We have both worked in the service industry, and we still left a 20% tip, though to be honest she deserved about 50 cents. I feel even had the manager been alerted he would have done nothing. I dont see how that guy is still in charge at that place. This coupled with the quality and portion sizes of the food have went down while price has went up was I think was the last straw. We loved this place for years and it was convenient and close to home. Looks like we will be making a drive because we are done here.

My boyfriend and I frequent the location off of Midland Drive and absolutely love it. The one at the legends is just a bit different to say the least. When we came in and sat, the section we were in smelt like sewage. The espinaca was not very good either, it tasted like it had been sitting in the window for a long time under a heating lamp and not very fresh. Besides those things, our waitress was super sweet and we had no problems with her or the hosting staff.

What a giant waste of time and money. If you are looking for quality, go to El Toro Loco just across the way. I knew better but decided to try Jose Peppers instead. Salad lettuce was wilted and brown. Meals were prepared wrong and overall just plain bad tasting. I usually finish my meals, but this was hard to get thru. Waitress didnt seem to care that we had multiple things wrong. 5 thumbs down 👎👎👎👎👎

Food was hot, portions were satisfactory, price was average, service was standard. As with most Tex-Mex, free chips and salsa while you wait. If I had to have a complaint, the chicken in my burrito was ulta dry, crispy it was so dry, but all the sauces helped it to be palatable.

Pretty terrible. Their salsa is bad- mostly cilantro. Fajitas were hands down the worst Ive ever had- were mostly onions, with 1 slice of bell pepper, 1 slice of red pepper. I waited a long time to have my drink refilled.

The food was amazing, super delicious. Overall I rather enjoyed the place. The only issue we had with the place was that the waiter didnt seem to want to be there and would walk off before we were done talking to him, so we ended up having another person help us and that waitress was really good.

Our waitress Jade was very nice and helpful! The food was good, but I ordered an Anniversary Margarita which is a 22oz drink, it was HORRIBLE and a DISAPPOINTMENT- I did not detect any alcohol in that drink and it does not take much for me to be tipsy.

African American couple visiting the Kansas City area for the first time. Decided to treat ourselves to a late lunch meal. Upon entry, we were greeted in a friendly manner. However, after asking for a private booth area, the nastiness of the attitudes from the server and another male employee were unforgivable. They sat us right at the front door (in a booth). Im not sure if the seating area we asked for was reserved for special people or if it was the color of our skin. After the server slapped our menus down on the table (which was dirty with food particles) we decided to leave. This was not the environment for us. Unforgivable experience tied together with poor customer service.

This was one of the worst dining experiences that I have ever had... service was poor at the best... my order was wrong but didnt want to wait for the right one to come out (I now wish I had because what I got was not good at all). Server/waiter/waitress was very inattentive, kept having to ask multiple times for chips, salsa, small plates for appetizer (which we never received). As I stated the meal that I received was not good at all... there was 5 of my family there and only 1 of us thought the food was okay, not good... just okay. This was the 3rd time I have eaten at Jose Peppers (twice this location and once at the Midland Drive and I-435 location) and none have been good... this is the last time I will ever eat at Jose Peppers!

I have visited this location a few times and they never disappoint. However, this time it was the best visit of them all. They had hand sanitizer bottles at each table, very clean all around, and the food was phenomenal even for my regular favorite meal pollo magnificito. Wait staff was friendly and met all our needs. I got a jalapeno marg and while it had flavor it could have had more spice. We will be back.

Cheese dip...half empty...margarita was not good, stuffed jalapeños were cold. Chips and salsa were good. Lees summit and Belton much better. Probably wont be back.

Edit: Management claimed this was a mix up between two different credit cards so who knows. Had a certain waitress add to her tip amount on the credit card receipt, not going to mention her name now. If you pay with a card she will write in a number so she gets more of a tip. I wouldnt have noticed if I didnt check my bank account daily and keep my receipts. The GM refunded me only the additional amount of the tip the waitress wrote in and said she would check into this matter. Bottom line is their server stole money from me and if she did it to me imagine how many others she has. I understand people can be going through a hard time and need extra money but stealing is never ok to do. This waitress needs to be fired. She knew what she was doing and probably has done it to others.

Horrible service and will never return. I would give 0 stars if I could. Ordered chicken quesadillas, and had 1 maybe 2 small pieces of chicken the size of a quarter in each piece. We called over the manager to show what the quesadillas looked like before we even ate any and he just stared at them and just said oh ok. Never offered to remake them. We had to ask for them to be remade with more than one or two pieces of chicken. The server Xack was horrible, not attentive at all. We asked for a extra salsa as there were 3 of us at a table and didn’t want to share cups of salsa, he never return and we had to ask someone else. Chips were empty and when he walked by to serve someone else we tried to get his attention as we were needed other refills of things as well and he still never came back to our table. We asked other people that worked there for what we needed even though he was serving other tables around us. He came finally to bring the bill and we asked for boxes, he never brought those and we got up to find someone for that as well. He came to collect our payment and I held out my plate and asked him to take my plate as our table was full with plenty of items, he stated he didn’t have time and walked off. I had to sit my plate on top of the booth for room. I went to advise manager of the server and the problem and he didn’t seem interested how horrible the server was. I explained to him the other servers and employees were very helpful in getting what we needed. And the restaurant was not packed nor did he have more than 2 tables, maybe 3 by the time we were finishing up. Horrible all the way around

Good tasting food. Service was relatively quick. Nice menu to choose from with lots of options. Staff was helpful and friendly. Waiter was even a Patrick Mahomes look alike!

Had dinner for 2 the Saturday following Thanksgiving. Not terribly busy as one might expect at 6:30pm on a Saturday evening. Jose Pepper’s in Olathe is the Mexican restaurant we usually eat at. This restaurant would make you think it had no relationship to the other whatsoever! The young staff with no supervision was horrible! I asked have water refilled and he didn’t take the time to fill up my wife’s which was equally as low! The food was mediocre at best! At this rate, they won’t be there long! Horrible experience!

I’m not from the KC area so I took a dive into Jose Peppers hoping it would be authentic. The server was not friendly at all. She took my order and never checked on me again until she brought me the check. She sternly talked to her other coworkers in which she seemed to be bullying. The food was a little below average. I could have gotten better service at Taco Bell for under $10. I ordered the steak and chicken fajitas and the meat was barely sizzling when I got it. The rice and beans were cold. If you’re thinking about ordering a margarita here, save your money. Better luck next time I guess...
