This place is awesome. It had been some months since I had a haircut, mostly because I wanted to grow my hair out and try something new. Booking my appointment was super easy and convenient- I was able to do it via the website and then received a text confirmation. I went in to get try a completely new style Id never done before, and Micah understood exactly what I was looking for. The space itself is super cool in my opinion, small but professional and creates a much more personal vibe. Micah is obviously very talented and takes great pride in his work, as my haircut came out amazing. I was the only person in the shop during my appointment, so Micah and I chatted the whole time and I honestly didnt realize I had been there for a while hour by the time it was done. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this place. Excellent location, customer service, and the finished product will speak for itself.

The first time you come here you will be like am I really supposed to just walk into this guys back yard? but then youll be greeted with Micahs unique basement barbershop. Every appointment is a full hour and is private and 1-on-1; the only other customers Ive seen are those leaving when I arrive early. On your first appointment youll work with Micah to figure out what kind of look youre going for, whether its your tried and true style or something new. And if you keep coming back, it gets better and better as he learns what works for your particular head shape and hair. Enjoy the great atmosphere and great conversation. Getting your haircut from Micah is much more than just a haircut. He listens and consults with what youre looking for. Like many of his clients, I also didnt know I was washing my hair wrong, not blow drying it enough -> its educational! When he launched his style service for clothing, I jumped on board and I learned so much about myself and what I wanted to express to the world. I learned how jackets and pants should fit, about quality items such as shoes, and how to dress appropriately for the seasons. Such good stuff that is hard to find anywhere else in KC!

My experience in Micahs shop was superb. Micahs shop is clean and inviting. You will be able to enjoy an ice cold drink while listening to great music. The haircut was more than a haircut. In my experience, mens haircuts are about a couple of measurements, a basic style, and as little time as possible. Micah does something very different and refreshing! He takes the time to consult and advise what kind of haircut best fits you, your lifestyle, and personality; all of which contribute to your unique look. About six months ago, I came to Barberhouse KC; my hair was boring. I did as little as possible up top and cut it super close so that I would never think about it. I was trying out a beard and it always felt like I was trying to be something other than myself. I BROUGHT ZERO IDEAS TO THE TABLE and Micah was able to make me look good.
