My sister in law works for H&R Block’s Corporate office and I had to tell her how amazing our experience was with the Kalispell office. So so so very happy we went there. I was just told a few days ago that my Self-Employment Tax would be covered by the Standard Deduction which is NOT TRUE AT ALL. These people have no clue what they are doing, and they had me fooled that my taxes would be covered. Do not trust these people, they will give you false information. The lady was literally googling my question as I was talking to her.

We have gone to Melanie Martin for a couple years and she is amazing! We know she works long hours but she is always cheerful and displays a positive attitude. Plus, she is good at what she does. We dont want to go to anyone else in the future.

I found that my experience doing my taxes this year was a great eye opener as I had some issues this year that were not present in past years. Having an H&R Block tax expert work with me was very satisfying and re-assuring.

Kalispell H&R Block neglected to notify me that I needed to come in &sign documents before 15th of July so I did not .that little detail they neglected to tell me made me late and in so doing i accrued extra tax charges .I had called them on the 13th of July to make sure everything was okay with my tax return as no one from their office returned my call, although i was promised that my taxes were the next in line to be prepared and i would be contacted by phone when they were ready to be picked up.no one called me and i had to make an appt on line as the store was closed most of each week to pay and pick up my documents..not happy with the Kalispell store

This is the worst tax preparation office our family ever dealt with, and we have had H&R Block prepare our taxes for the past 12+ years in three different states and several different offices. If it were not for the receptionists friendliness, this particular H&R Block office would have earned 0 stars. Our first complaint is about the complete lack of professionalism at this office. While we were sitting down with our tax preparer, in the middle of the tax preparation appointment, another tax preparer stormed into the office without knocking, without apology to us, slammed a stack of documents on the desk, and shouted at our tax preparer, What are you doing in MY office? She then stormed out of the office leaving the documents (confidential tax documents from another client) in our plain view, and she never considered apologizing to us for barging in on our tax preparation appointment. Secondly, the tax preparer assigned to us had a sub-standard knowledge of tax laws. In addition to income from regular jobs and a pension, our return also included Schedule C, and our tax preparer struggled mightily through this portion of the return preparation, so much so that it took her more than an hour just to fill out Schedule C despite the fact that we provided itemized business revenues and expenses included on easy to read spreadsheets. Even with all of that information, our tax preparer made a $4000 mistake that would have had us receiving a tax refund while, in fact, we owed taxes. Thanks to the presence of mind of the business owner in our family, the mistake was spotted before all the necessary signatures were obtained for the erroneous return to be e-filed. The new return was generated, both spouses provided signatures, and after more than 3.5 hours, that was supposed to be the end of the ordeal. Unfortunately, the missteps on the part of this H&R Block office continued. A day after our appointment, one of the spouses received a phone call from our tax preparer at work, where the tax preparer informed him that she would be sending us an amended return in the mail. As this spouse was in the middle of an important project, he did not have time to inquire of the tax preparer regarding the details as to why the amended return was needed, and she did not offer any details either. When the amended returns arrived in the mail, there was no note accompanying them that would explain why the returns needed to be amended. Upon a call to the H&R Block office, we were told by yet another tax preparer that he had no way of finding out why the returns were amended and that we should talk to our tax preparer who, by the way, was out of the office indefinitely. When asked whether the office had a policy for a supervisor or another tax preparer to check the returns before they were e-filed, this tax preparer responded in the negative, and informed us that the tax preparers did their job to the best of their ability. This was pretty much a shock to us as all the H&R Block offices we dealt with in the past (in Kansas and in South Dakota) had policies where returns could not be e-filed until a supervisor or senior tax preparer double-checked each tax preparers work. Last but not least, a few days ago, we received a tax refund from the State of Montana. That indicated to us that the H&R Block erroneously e-filed the first, unsigned version of our tax return. This shows the complete lack of attention to detail on the part of Kalispell H&R Block office. Needless to say, it is up to us now to de-tangle this tangled mess with the State of Montana and IRS. The cost of $420+ for tax preparation services just adds insult to injury. Needless to say, well be looking for a different tax office next year.

Can’t even get ahold of anyone at the office or the customer support line. Why do I pay you guys hundreds of dollars every year for the absolute worst customer service in the valley. Going somewhere else.

I was extremely happy with the service provided from the tax professionals that assited me. The refund expectancy loan with the reusable emerald card is also a huge plus. Also the fact that I was able to deduct the cost of filing from my refund and not have to come up with cash out of pocket was definitely a deciding factor.

Came in and was immediately greeted by the kind secretary, who was more than happy to assist me. Even after spilling coffee all over their pamphlets, they were still helpful, nice and managed to keep a cool head.I recommend this location to anyone close enough, and those looking for help.

For the first time in over 20 years as a H&R Block customer, I was dissatisfied with my experience. I want to be very clear that my agent was excellent, diligent, and professional. Where the experience failed was the support and communication aspect. After taking the time and purposefulness to develop my return over several months I completed my return on the 10th of April. As I concluded the final conversation I was assured that the arrangements for payment, from the refund, the timing and the Peace of Mind agreements were all in place. As I work during the summer season well off grid and devoid of most digital connections, I had exactly no opportunity to be later than the 10th in my tax work. Then on the 17th of April, as I literally was driving out into Glacier National Park, I received a phone call that said my return had not been filed, it had to be paid for -today- and I should have known that the Federal return refund was inadequate to fund the payment for the services.

Fast and friendly. Showed me what next years taxes will look like and how to maximize my savings. A+
