Dont let the exterior deter. While the building looks outdated the inside has been revamped and updated. Rooms are good size, have a fridge, and are clean. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom lacks storage/flat space. Has reasonable amount of outlets for electronics. Easily accessible to/from highway.

I was reserved for 4 nights, I checked out after 2 nights. Approaching the entrance the grounds were unkept, the front door was nasty with fingerprints and during COVID there should not be visible dirt on the doors, that’s letting me know no one is wiping or sanitizing. As a matter of fact every door I came in contact with was filthy, the carpet was not vacuumed in multiple areas all day! The staff was standing in front of the hotel smoking when they could have been vacuuming. Now, to get to my stay, Clearly housekeeping is an issue at this hotel. There were spiders 🕷 🕷 on the dresser and the desk chair was in horrible condition, I requested a new one and they replaced it with a chair that had spider webs covered on the bottom. They also had to bring me an iron board. They only offered to come and vacuum my room. I requested to change rooms because there were multiple spiders. After that I changed rooms 3 times due to the sheets being stained and finally there was another spider in a web on my headboard. I immediately checked out at 12 midnight, without any apologies ever throughout the whole ordeal. Called and talked to Shannon the front desk manager and she addressed me as Hun and not my name, when I asked for my night to be comped for my inconvenience she rudely said that wasn’t going to happen, however, Iexpected that. Cleanliness should be your #1 priority during COVID that’s the best customer service you could provide, a guest with a clean stay!

September 17, 2021“My Review of Delta Hotel Kalamazoo”I have over 1000 nights at Marriott properties, but this was my first stay (5 nights) at a Delta. Generally, I was pleasantly surprised. Really awesome front desk team were very responsive, efficient, courteous, and extended me a warm welcome as a Lifetime Titanium Elite. GM Joe Fragala has built a strong team. My room was terrific, including the best room HACV system that I’ve encountered in a long time. Easy-to-operate, high-quality LG TV. Excellent workspace and WIFI. Housekeeping timely and efficient. (I chose one day of service during my 6-day stay). One suggestion, put a light in closet area by entry door. Other than that, room is well lite. Very clean property. Plenty of free parking. Alluring Indoor pool. Well-equipped fitness center. One vital area fell short, a common theme throughout industry during COVID: Food and beverage. Lack of staff. For purposes of this review, I’m not evaluating the F & B offerings and service; other than to say I hope to see cracked eggs and not “a mix” in your omelettes next time. One major plus, the young lady overseeing the restaurant was a super hostess/server. Lastly, and I know GM Joe is working on this, the road signage is poor. The property is tucked away in a residential area off the freeway (close to exit, but hidden). Without google maps, very tough to find. I trust Delta/Marriott will find a solution with directional-signage, et al. Finally, I’ve held almost a hundred business events at Marriott properties across country, and this property is very worthy of your consideration (hidden gem?). Not fancy, but a cut above Courtyards and some full-service Marriotts. Favorable, spacious conference capacity for the Kalamazoo area. Undoubtedly you can negotiate an excellent event package. Consider for a 10-100 person event. Somewhat intimate. You won’t have to walk 500 yards to your event/meetings. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, as well as Western Michigan University. This was my first time at a Delta hotel; I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was great and the room was spotless. We had breakfast at the restaurant and although the food was good the prices were a bit high. Great location right off the highway.

Fatal flaws: Overpriced, understaffed, poor service, broken appliances. There was one employee running the restaurant AND bar so service was slow but as fast as it possibly could be. Found out in one of our rooms the T.V. didn’t work and when we tried our second room that one just didn’t even turn on. Guest services has no way to get someone up to help since there is literally one employee running it who probably has close to no experience with things like that. A.C barely functions and was keeping the room at a comfortable 78 degrees! Tampons were $7 for two so severely overpriced and preying on people who are unprepared and caught off guard. Positives: Wonderful staff! the front desk woman was amazing and as accommodating as she could be under the circumstances. The employee running the restaurant and bar was also as efficient as she could be and made sure we were taken care of. Minor flaws: People go for joyrides in the parking lot at 11:00 a.m. and almost hit people by whipping around corners. Pool was filled by a hose and there was lots and lots of dead skin floating in the hot tub.

I was never able to actually stay at the hotel. I stopped in to make a reservation for a block of rooms and was told to contact the senior sales manager for the hotel, Laura. So I did, 3 times. 3 phone calls with voicemails left, and an email. I never got a response. I suggest if you want to block rooms for an event to look to another hotel. They do not want your business. I happily took my business the Radisson plaza hotel in Downtown Kalamazoo

Hands down the best hotel in kalamazoo! The customer service here is top notch!! Shannon at the front desk went completely out of her way to help me with a 3rd party issue. She is absolutely amazing and it is refreshing to see someone so dedicated in the hospitality industry. We will certainly return to see Shannon and her smile again! The atrium rooms are nice and the pool perfect for the kids. The whole hotel is extremely clean which is a added plus right now. I would recommend Delta by Marriott to anyone!

Absolutely Amazing experience!! Alexis took my call regarding our stay and was awesome!!Jolene went Above and Beyond!! I can not say enough things about her kindness, professionalism and all around top notch customer service. Kimberly was super pleasant checking us out, and Marcia was a joy to visit in the hallway as she was on her way to clean!! The pool was Great the kids Loved it!! We had a small issue with our heater and Michael our maintenance man was Amazing as well! Super fast efficient and accommodating!! We travel for business and will be staying again!! I had a bad experience at this hotel. 1st off the tub was clogged up so when I took a shower I was actually taking a shabath (shower+bath). Once I finally got settled and inspected my sheets, there was blood on my sheets, so I immediately called down to the front desk. Of course I called several times and nobody answered. They finally called back and I told them blood was on my sheets, the attendant said someone would be to my room shortly. A man shows up to my door with bedding and hands it to me. I say are you going to put it on? He says oh no I cant do it. Oh but I can. I closed the door so fast and was upset. Then the bloody bedding just sat on the floor in our room because he left before I could hand it back over to him. This is sad and no customer should have to make up there own bed. Never again!!

Stayed here for a single night while passing through on a road trip. I’ve stayed at numerous Marriott properties, but this was my first time staying at a Delta Hotel. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but was pretty impressed! The room was very comfortable and I loved the setup - that there was a lounging area and a sleep area.My favorite part was the TV! It’s a smart TV that had a wide selection of streaming platforms - Netflix, YouTube, HBO Max, and numerous others. I snuggled into bed around 7pm and enjoyed catching up on YouTube videos. The best part was turning off the lights and watched one my favorite, nostalgic concerts from 1999!I’m constantly on the road - over half the year, so having a moment to relax and unwind is pretty special and what I always hope for from a hotel. This one exceeded my expectations! Delta, you’re a winner!!

As part of the trip, my friend and I stayed at this hotel, and we were very pleased with it. The room was enormous, with a colossal, spacious bed in the middle. The bathroom is spacious and has a bathtub. Breakfast is fantastic! Highly recommend.

Nice hotel (physically), but staff is not very friendly and the hotel seems much more focused on warning you what not to do than on welcoming you to the hotel and the area. And no services offered on Sunday of a holiday weekend. Seriously? Had to wait to check in because no one was at the desk....no apology or welcome offered when they finally showed up. I had a reservation through Booking.com and everything was set on booking.coms end for me to have a room here for tonight. Unforchantly Deltas very unfriendly service is telling me they dont have any reservations with me. Also that they are Filled up even with barely anyone there!! There was pure chaos at the pool yesterday. A young man was assaulting another young girl in the pool. Front desk clerk was notified by 2 people including myself, that this was going on. The desk clerk came to the pool and said maybe 3 words then left. The chaos continued and my son couldnt swim for almost an hour. Then this morning some man with no name badge or identification, came and told people no coffee with lids by the pool. Where was the hotel when something serious is going on? Why wasnt the 4 person rule applicable to the unruly guests? I used to come to this hotel when it was the holidome. I will not be coming back and Im going to complain to corporate about this places terrible management.

We were woken up at 1130 at night to the smoke detector going off!! BECAUSE SOMEONE WAS SMOKING?!? Any better way to detect this as to NOT SCARE THE S____T out of the ENTIRE HOTEL?!?!?!?! This place is a remodel of an older Holiday Inn, and by remodel I mean a major updating! Beautiful indoor pool,workout room, Arcade for the kids. In room WIFI, streaming channels. Computer room with printer.A great bar with big TVs and a restaurant. Super comfortable beds make this our new go to location when we are staying in this area.

The good - Pool area was great for kids. The water was warm, and the pool area was clean. There was also no capacity problem with the low number of people in the hotel. The bad - hotel staff was not friendly. They didn’t offer either the points or $10 food, and beverage credit like most Marriotts do, and they seemed annoyed we were checking-in. The room didnt appear to be cleaned and sanitized when we got in. After pool time, when we got back to the room, we noticed a dirty pair of underwear in the bathroom. Lastly, phones were out of service, so you could not reach The front desk.The property may have potential based on the location and the pool, but I don’t think it’s a good culture based on what we saw. Id recommend others in the area.

If I could leave half a star or no stars I would. We had the worst experience with this venue. We were looking for a reception venue back in 2019 and absolutely fell in love with the look, the location, and our event coordinator (at the time). We had our last meeting with our coordinator at the venue at the end of February 2020 and I know I cannot blame all of my unhappiness on the venue, a lot of it had to do with the pandemic and no one knowing how to function in this new world.In March we were emailed from the event manager (a woman we never spoke with or knew) explaining that we could contact her with any needs during this unforeseen time. Despite the pandemic we were determined to continue with planning for our wedding in October. But after a month or two I decided to reach out to the manager and ask my questions concerning their process and how they were planned to handle this situation. The response time was from a few days to a week and even then when she responded I got the run-around...my questions werent answered and my confidence in the venue was severely lacking. On top of the pandemic and response time, I found out that 2 of our payments were not applied to our account. So now there is $2,500 missing. I work during the day so I had my sister/matron of honor call and leave numerous messages and this manager didnt respond back. So I decided that it was time to sit down with the General Manager of the Hotel...it took a couple weeks for them to even get back with us on setting up a meeting but when we finally did it was at the end of JUNE (keep in mind my wedding is set for 10/3/20) and the General Manager was completely full of himself and was not reassuring in the slightest. They still hadnt located our money, they still didnt have a plan to fix the issue of lack of communication. All he wanted was our money. We asked if they would even be a possibility to continue with a reception of 160 guests and he tried to assure us that he would do anything to make it possible but at the end of the day they will not break the law (which I completely get ---but I have 3 months until my wedding and I need to make a decision) he even went as far as to say that they would put up a tent in their parking lot...DO NOT TELL A BRIDE THAT YOU WILL CHANGE THE VENUE THAT SHE HAS HER HEART SET ON JUST TO GET THE MONEY YOU THINK YOU DESERVE.Needless to say that we decided, after our SHORT meeting with the General Manager, to cancel and get our money back. Luckily the general manager informed us that we could get our money back in full. HOWEVER...in that meeting he said it would be a week before we would get the money back...it took 2 months for them to figure out what they were doing and get us our money back. I am completely amazed as to how poorly a business could be so unorganized and have no sense of communication.I was DEVISTATED...as a Bride you dream of your wedding day being EVERYTHING you wanted and to have a venue be anything less than supportive and less than perfect added so much unneeded stress. I had my heart set on this venue so much that I could see me and my husband and our family and friends celebrating what is supposed to be the happiest day of our lives. Now every time I drive by the venue of my dreams my heart breaks all over again.They did not make my dream wedding come true and now I will never have that version of my wedding...I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Go somewhere else where the event manager and the general manager will actually LISTEN and TALK and PLAN your special day with you instead of for you.

The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because the pool area is closed which is the best part of the hotel. I understand because of the virus but chlorine kills bacteria so not 100 percent sure why the pool was closed. Hopefully it opens back up soon! 🙂

We had a winter weekend get away at Delta. It was worth our visit! The rooms were nicely updated and very quiet. The pool area was clean, towels well stocked, and it was in working order. The pool was very cold, but the hot tub was quite comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. No backache in the morning. :) The food at the restaurant was exceptional and the service was wonderful. The bar was busy and the bartenders were friendly. The ice machines on 3 different floors werent working, so we took the bucket to the front desk. The bartender saw us and immediately asked if she could fill it for us. She also gave one of us a free pop for the efforts. :) We couldnt be happier with our stay and would recommend this hotel to friends!

Checked in to a dirty room. Cobwebs. Floor was not vacuumed, stain on the pillowcase. I called the front desk and they moved us to s moderately better room. One of the outlet plugs in 121 had hair, and rust on it. The shower still had a hair on the wall....I booked it because Im a Delta Amex rewards member, and from the pictures it seemed like it would be decent. The state of the rooms is not great. Spend the extra money. Stay at the Radisson downtown.

Have not stayed at this hotel since it was a Holiday Inn (years ago). They did a nice job updating and revamping the hotel. It was about what you would expect in a mid priced hotel (for the area). Check in was efficient, friendly and accommodating. Room was standard a rack room but was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. The food was decent but the bar was excellent. Great choice of craft beers. Our stay was one night but would recommend this hotel as a solid Marriott option.

I went over 2 nights to attend a meeting at WMU. The hotel is just down Stadium DR and was really convenient to get to and from with the shuttle. The shuttle is also great for getting around town including to the transit center, mall, and airport. Everyone there was friendly and some even knew me by name from a previous trip to WMU. I plan on staying at this property and recommending to anyone traveling to the area.

Dont be fooled from the outside! The inside is much nicer than the hard brick exterior leads you to believe. It is set up with halls and turns reminiscent of The Shining, but I didnt see any scary twins or crazy guys chopping down doors. The staff was amazingly nice on both check in and check out. The hotel all around was average. The room was modern. However, the bathroom was completely unclean from previous guests. The toilet had urine stains, the shower curtain had mildew buildup on the bottom of the curtain and the tub had someone elses hair in it. I checked the air filters in the heater and they were plugged full of dirt/dust. This was all addressed to the manager and they informed me that they would clean the room again. They only cleaned the toilet & the shower curtain and the hair in the tub and the air filter was untouched. After the first night I stayed there, at 7am the fire alarm went off roughly for 30 seconds. I got dressed and walked down to the main lobby with the smell of smoke in the air. A rude manager reassured me that everything was okay and that he shut it off. Overall my experience was subpar and I am suprised based on how well this hotel reviewed.

Impressed by what they did to renovate the old bowling alley. How they got rid of the smell is beyond me! The conference center is well laid out, the design is neo-chic and the bathrooms are large and well lit. There is a good sized dance floor, cool ceiling lighting and a very large coat room. We had a company Christmas party there and it was a perfect venue.

Stayed this past weekend, Friday through Sunday. when calling to make reservations I specifically asked about the hot tub and decided to pay twice the price to stay for that feature. Nobody told me that the hotel was booked full of 7 different large groups staying there, including a teen hockey team, and a teen basketball team. the entire pool area was standing room only all weekend. An employee told me it was always like that, and it was too late to cancel reservations because It was past check in time. So if you are looking to relax in the hot tub think again. Other than that the rooms were nice and the staff was very friendly.

We stayed one night on a weeknight. Our room was ground floor near the pool. IT was a very nice stay. The staff are very kind and accommodating. We were in a 2 queen bed room and it was surprisingly roomy.I loved the pool and hot tub area. The pool is 8 ft deep, which is an amazing find. My only complaint is that it and the hot tub were pretty cold.

Many hotels we stay at now do not have a working hot tub. We were great full they still did! After full days of being on our feet it was nice to have it to relax in- after a drink at the bar!

Very disappointed in this place, they should advertise the pool and every other thing is closed, laundry is a joke. It just seems old and outdated. The blond that works the front desk is super nice, her and the bartender were highlights

This hotel is a gem, recently rennovated. Comfortable beds/pillows, in room equipped with a refrigerator and coffee maker. The hotel restaurant food was excellent, along w the waitstaff. My husband also enjoyed the craft beer sampler. Hotel lobby was beautiful and loved the design details all throughout the property. It was clean, well maintained and staff friendly. Only complaints were hot tub not very hot which was very disappointing and no one was at the front lobby desk when we arrived and we were confused where to go when we walked in. But a few minutes later 3 staff members were back at the front desk. Also wish the hot tub could have been open later. Housekeeping staff excellent and hooked us up with extra coffee for the morning.

We had a great experience at the Delta Hotel Kalamazoo Conference Center. The location of the hotel was easy to find from the highway. This would be a great stay when traveling to Detroit or to Chicago. When you walk into the hotel, you are greeted with a hello and smile giving you a feeling to be welcomed! The reception/lobby area is beautiful! The front desk staff were very friendly, patient and accommodating. The lodging fee is manageable. The rooms were very clean. The beds are soft! The food served at our womens conference was very delicious and plentiful! From the catering manager to his staff, everyone was friendly, helpful, kind and we felt welcomed. Overall, the hospitality is AWESOME! I would definitely recommend staying at the Delta Hotel Kalamazoo Conference Center for your travel needs! Thank you!

This hotel offers outstanding service and the property while older has recently been remodeled. The staff is very friendly and work to make your stay enjoyable. Housekeeping does an outstanding job keeping your room clean during an multi-night stay. I would highly recommend this property if travels takes you to Kalamazoo.

The staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, spanking clean and very quiet. The food didnt change my life but it was quite edible. I was a little flummoxed at the fact that all the exercise machines face away from the 2 large TV screens in the fitness room, but thats why I brought a book in there in the first place.
