I recently switched to the Groves due to my current provider retiring. I had a great experience. I was able to get a timely appointment that worked for me. Staff greeted me upon arrival. I had little wait time before being called back. The MA was kind and funny; she engaged me in general conversation and had me laughing. The NP was professional, listened to me, addressed my needs and welcomed me to the practice.
Dr. Shafqat is the best doctor I have ever seen. He has helped me with so many health issues when all others have failed. I would recommend him to anyone for any reason. I’ve seen him for everything ranging from anxiety to a basic virus to a severe head/back injury due to a fall. Every time, he has listened and found the right medications/care to treat me when even so called “specialists” did not help with my issues. He truly cares for his patients and their well being.I can’t attest to the other doctors there, but the front desk staff is amazing. Another reviewer complained about wait time before they answer but I have never been on hold for more than a minute and that’s pretty fast compared to other places. You can also use the Bronson MyChart to schedule/cancel appointments and communicate with your doctor. The nurses are also extremely helpful and caring.
Your lucky to get a response via phone or email, I think this place looks bad for Bronson. The main location is great, this little satellite is not doing justice. They are loosing many customers here.
I cannot rate the place yet but upon my first visit I was already discouraged. After being on a very low dose of a potent opiate and meds low dose also for anxiety and heart palpitations I had a mouth swab done after I admitted to using marijuana only. I was very bluntly told that if I come back with another dirty drop I will get no medicine and did I know how dangerous it was to mix the two together? I know he gives two prescriptions of benzoes out to people who go to methadone clinic and take five times the amount I do and they are addicts...so being honest does not seem to be the best bet I see...I have been a reliable, responsible medicine taker for 18 yrs now. And get the third degree till I am terrified...pfffft...not sure I made a good choice.
First of all, its way too difficult to get to talk to your Doctor. And a two-day response time is ludicrous.I recently went in for foot pain and swelling, and thought it was gout. I was told that its definitely not gout, and that its a bacterial infection.Well, 10 days later, and after two different antibiotics with zero change, I went to a different Doctors office. Yup, its not an infection and is gout. So, thank you for wasting my time and lots of money for nothing.Youre officially fired as my primary care office.
Another slaughter house style health clinic. How many patients can we move per hour. Are you about to pass out ... not to worry ... plenty of wheel chairs on site to roll you out into the parking lot.
After my former GP dropped my insurance, I had to find a new doctor. I gave Dr. Unterseher at The Groves a try and am beyond pleased. The facilities are very clean and everyone there is friendly, helpful, and informative. Dr. U has done a great job of helping me adjust my medications for the best results with the fewest side effects. I am relieved that I dont need to keep searching for a doctor that I like and trust.
Love Teresa! She is amazing at listening and getting to the bottom of things! They are great at getting you in quickly. And the front desk staff is always super polite!
Please do not go here. They will waste your time and money. I had a specific blood test that I needed to be done for school. I provided documentation with the name of the blood test that I needed to the office. I called in and asked for the blood test to be ordered. About a week later I received my results to find out that the office ordered the wrong blood test and billed my insurance for 147$.I called the office and spoke with the office manager and she said she would look into it and get it taken care of. A month past and I heard nothing from the office manager. I had to follow up with the manager, and she said that there was nothing that they could do and I had to pay for the test that they ordered wrong.I had to take it to patient relations who eventually helped solve my problem. Bronson at the Groves staff was non supportive after they made the mistake of ordering the wrong test and billing my insurance for it. I wouldnt trust an office that cant order a simple blood test. Go somewhere else reliable.
The doctors and medical assistants here are amazing. The office staff is a mixed bag. Some are are great, some are morons. But wow, I really love each doctor/NP/PA that Ive seen. Ive had excellent care for ailments ranging from the mother of all coughs, to a broken finger, to family planning appointments. Ive seen a lot of different doctors since moving to Michigan from Chicago, and these guys are the best.
Complete waste of my time. I arrived at the building 10 min early for my appoint. There were no obvious signs as to how to find where to checkin. It was so confusing to actually find the actual Bronson Family Grove location in the building, even after asking directions, that I was five minutes late once I finally found the receptionist. After being only five minutes late I was told I would have to reschedule for 6 months later. Six Months later, for being only 5 minutes late!Dont waste your time with these guys as they wont work to help you out. They dont care about you, just making money.
I contacted the office all day and with it being Friday I am going into the weekend in pain after a recent diagnosis and needing to seek other professional care because my primary care office could not get me the medicine I needed to get through the weekend. This is completely unacceptable and should have been addressed when I first contacted the office. They are to busy to help their patients
I absolutely love this place! Always willing to accommodate my schedule and helpful with my prescriptions.
I DO NOT like Dr. Sanchez. She does not listen to her patients and I found her to be very rude and condescending. I had to make compromises just in order to have her prescribe the meds I’ve been taking for years. The lack of compassion and understanding is appalling. The office staff and MAs are very nice, professional and kind. If you are looking for a compassionate, caring Dr., DO NOT go to Dr. Sanchez!!!!
My experience under the care of Dr. Eric Houchin has been nothing short of the best medical care I have ever received. It is not just him though, the whole staff is great and listens to any medical needs which need to be met. I cared enough the share on here. Best doctors office in town and the building and campus are brand new. Check it out if you need a family doctor or are personally in need.-John
Dr. houchin is the best always makes sure my meds are still working the way they should
This place is garbage. The staff treat you terrible. Promise to call in your perscription personally, but when you go to pick up it was never even sent. When you drive all the way back to the office to get it sent, they send you out again across town to pick it up. Again not there. Three trips to the same office on the same day because they do not know how to perscribe preperation h. And if the Main women in charge...Gwen.... well she will give you her personal number and promise to call you back...msg. left at noon.... no response. She said she was in charge of the Groves. It shows GWEN. WORST TREATMENT I HAVE EVER HAD.
I only came here because my doctor moved his whole practice here. My nurse practitioner never went with him, and I was never ever scheduled with my actual doctor. He retired a year later. This is one of those offices that will try to get you in and out without properly hearing you out or making you feel like a person. Now the only thing I go for is the depo shot. I got it from a nurse last week but instead of scheduling my next one, the nurse handed me a calendar and told me to call. Then, two days later I get a call from my pharmacy and find out that they have this shot prescription ready for me. You can imagine my confusion- I had just gotten it done in office and no one mentioned a word of this to me. I also have IBS with constipation and was prescribed a medication for diarrhea instead. I only knew because I did my own research on the prescription. I had to call and tell them that they prescribed the wrong medication. They never got back to me. I had to find out from my pharmacy that there was a new medication waiting. I am also against their attendance policy. I missed two appointments due to my health condition that they were treating and I got a letter saying that I could be dismissed after the third one. I almost went down there that day and asked for my records back. Another issue I have is that I had bloodwork done in January 2016 but they cancelled the Celiac Disease test. I have gone this whole time thinking they tested me for it. If thats the root of my problems I will be upset because Ive had to quit the best paying job Ive ever had due to my health condition and can no longer work full time. Im moving to the Detroit area in a couple of months and Im so thankful to be leaving this office. I have had such bad luck with doctors in Kalamazoo.
Just not pleased with the service here. I have been in three different times for lung problems and they didnt conduct any tests. They just listened to my lungs and sent me on my way with antibotics. It just keeps getting worse and they asked me to come in for xrays and when I got there, they didnt even give me the xrays I was orginally coming in for. They always rush me out of the office, and it takes months to get an appointment set up. just NOT PLEASED
I love my doctor and his team I was broken into pieces when I got here emotionally and physically and my doctor has worked with me step-by-step has stood up for me and I know he cares sometimes when I leave the doctors office I can see the tears in his eyes because he can feel my pain not just my physical play but my motional pain I dont think youll ever find a doctor that is 100% golden but if you find one that cares the rest will follow loving Dr. Houchen and his team
I am currently recently pregnant with lots of complications. I was in the ER yesterday and was given an order to get blood drawn to make sure my HCG levels were still rising. I called the HealthAnswers number provided by the ER doctor because I am a new resident to Kalamazoo and I dont have a primary care physician in the area. They suggested to call Bronson Family Medicine and gave me the number. I called to schedule the blood test and was informed by the automated system the average speed to answer was one minute with one person in front of me. Six minutes later I was informed I was now next in line and had been hold for only 2 minutes. About another 10 minutes later the system told me there was once again someone in front of me again and I had been waiting less than a minute. I pressed an option to try a different extension and chose the operator. A woman answered who I explained my frustration with the automated system and the reason for my call. I told her HealthAnswers gave me their number to call to schedule the appointment and that I need to schedule a time I could come in to get blood drawn to check my HCG levels. She then said okay give me one moment I waited for about another 1-2 minutes in which she came back on and said go ahead and disconnected the call. She had transferred me back over to HealthAnswers. There was no explanation from her. No reasoning as to why she had to get me back with them or even that she was transferring the call. Horrible customer service and very frustrating for a mother who is worried sick she is losing her child. I will drive back to Grand Rapids and see my physician were I will get the quality of care and concern as a patient I deserve for both my child and myself.
HORRIBLE OFFICE!!! The appointment scheduling staff is beyond rude and they never have any appointments available for at least 4-6 weeks. They will tell you that the visit will be billed a certain way and then they will be bill it differently for you to be left with an insurance nightmare. I would never recommend this office to anyone!!! If I could give it 0 stars I would!
Great Doctors.Take Medicaid.
Doctor joined The Groves. They would not let my doctor renew my prescriptions because I had not paid the Groves any money yet. Real Stupid Place.
Couldnt have asked for a better experience .
Really helpful.
