Drake dental is the best dentist I’ve ever been to! Andrea is the best cleaner I’ve ever had she never once hurt my teeth or gums which is always my top concern. I also had to get my first filling here and they made it go incredibly smooth! Even though I’m out of state now I’d definitely go back if I’m ever visiting again!

Im a Double Lung Transplant Survior and fairly new to Kalamazoo and Ive been looking for a Dentist for the past several months. Drake Dental was highly recommended by a friend of mine. In late February I finally broke down and called to schedule an appointment. After giving them my information, I mentioned to them that I am a Lung Transplant patient which requires me to take pre meds before I could get my teeth cleaned. They also mentioned that I needed to get a pre authorization from my Dr. before my visit. I called my Dr and asked if he could give the ok to have my teeth cleaned. I gave him the fax number and he said Ill take care of it.I know that my dental care has been neglected, I did only the traditional things like brushing and using mouthwash. My teeth and gums are in bad shape because in 2012, I lost a good friend who also had a Lung transplant and all his teeth romoved and put vaneers in and about a month after all his teeth were pulled he passed away. Since this occurred I refused to attend a Dentist.My appointment was on March 2nd, as soon as I walked in I didnt feel comfortable, nothing was said or done to me directly, I just wasnt getting good vibes. They took x-rays of my mouth and they preceeded to explain the wrong things with my mouth. They didnt do a cleaning because they needed to get the ok from my Dr. I didnt tell them this was already faxed back to your office by this point I just wanted to get out of there.I was told by them that they will contact my Dr and get the ok to have my teeth cleaned and they would let me know so I could come back to have my teeth cleaned and continue my exam.As of May 11th, I havent heard from them about my follow-up visit but they did call me several times about paying a bill that should have been covered by my insurance. My company switched insurance carriers and I didnt get the memo until I contacted my insurance provider and was informed about the change effective March 1st, so I called Drake Dental and gave them my updated insurance information.My point is they can call me several times in back to back day about paying my bill. Since March 2nd, I didnt receive 1 phone call regarding my follow-up teeth cleaning.I found another Dentist and just from the scheduling department, it already sounds better than Drake Dental.

I was aggressively forced to use hand sanitizer after walking in. I explained it burns my hands. Uh bruh, just use the hand sanitizer she said. Then I was talked into getting a crown on my tooth with minimal decay. Now I can barely drink room temperature water due to severe temperature sensitivity causing pain. They now want to charge me over a $1,000 to have a root canal on the tooth. This place just wants to continue to do unnecessary procedures to keep charging you. I will be going somewhere else from now on. Avoid this place like the plague.

Great experience from check-in to check-out. Went in for a teeth cleaning and Dawn was the best, gentle, steady hands, and great at informing me of whats going on and future stuff that could effect my teeth. I didnt get the up sale guilt trip from the Doctor, me was respectful of my lack of financial backing and explained what was needed. Then at check-out they were great at working with me get get squared up and out the door with a clean smile on my face.

I received a tour through the place and everything during my first exam was explained properly by the technician and Doctor. As someone who has been anxious about going to the dentist for a long time, I highly recommend Drake Dental! I question the ethics of this office. Their billing practices are not centered around preventative care but rather the most efficient way they can charge you more.They have an extensive waiting list but when you cancel an appt hours after the cancellation window hits, they happily charge you for not being able to make the appointment.I appreciated the health care I received here but the billing process is horrific.

If you have good insurance, be prepared for them to tell you that you need multiple teeth filled and several other expensive procedures. If you disagree, they will tell you that you dont need a 2nd opinion and will try to bully and scare you into agreeing with them. Purchasing products that they sell will also be pushed upon you, as well as getting other cosmetic procedures done. So, if you fancy sitting in the dental chair on a regular basis, exhausting all of your dental insurance and opening up your wallet, then this is the place for you.

The best experience Ive ever had at the dentist. Tamara was awesome accommodate my schedule. Im moving away in a few weeks and needed a trusted dentist to do a crown and work on my front teeth that my previous dentist told me, it was a stain and it wast. The Doctor and Hygienist were awesome making sure I was comfortable with my long appointment. Wonderful to work with.

Make sure to get all your procedures and their prices itemized in writing. We were hounded for a year over a bill we were told by both Drake Dental and our insurance was covered in-network.Started blocking their calls, so they called from personal phones or other alternative numbers and badgered us. Explained that we were told services were covered, and were essentially accused of lying.Requested our records be sent on to a different dentist, and it never happened. We were moving practices because my husband was told he has too many cavities to count, even though he sees an Army dentist regularly for x-rays and they said he has 2.

Love this place. Sandi was amazing as usual and took good care of me. All of the staff are sweet, warm and welcoming. They even watched my son while I was getting X-rays.

I have had four appointments at Drake Dental and insofar all of their services have been great. Their facilities are very nice, they provided me with coffee in my morning appointments, and allowed me to choose if I wanted to watch TV during my visit. They were very clear in helping me understand my treatment plan and the cost. All of the dentists and techs that I have worked with have been friendly and polite. I also had a situation in which I had tooth pain due to shifting teeth and grinding at night. They were able to get me into the office quickly and helped me understand what was occurring with my teeth. Their manager, Becky, was incredibly warm and understanding, while also being professional. I been going here for over a year now. With about 3 cleanings and 2 crown done. I havent been to a dentist for a long time, so finally decided to. I happened to find Drake Dental was only 5 mins away which was convient for me. I never enjoyed going to get my teeth done for obvious reasons...pain and that you have someone messing around in your mouth. This places really made my experience a lot better. X rays are always taken to keep me up to date and what needs to be done. The dentist who did my crown was amazing, i have trouble breathing through my nose, so she takes her time and let me rest to catch my breath. She does check up and follow up on my other cracked tooth and the newly placed crown. Would recommend

Admittedly It had been years since I had visited the dentist; really the first time in my adult life. I was nervous and didnt know what to expect, but I could not have had a better experience. My dental hygienist, Lynelle, was so friendly and welcoming, I truly felt cared for. She was very thorough and explained everything in terms I could understand. The rest of the staff were great as well, and worked with my insurance to make sure all was covered before scheduling any procedures. The office is bright and open, beautifully decorated, and conveniently located! Would highly recommend this office to anyone.

I hated going to the dentist until I found Drake Dental. From the building, to the staff, to the doctors, to the work, they have never provided less than top notch service. Everyone is friendly and informative and they take so much of my anxiety out of the visit. They work with me to understand the options and what would work best for my teeth and situation. My daughter actually asks to go to the dentist because they make it fun for her. We have since moved from the Kalamazoo area but we love Drake Dental so much that we travel back for all our appointments! We highly recommend!

Not an in provider with my insurance. Wish I would have been informed when I scheduled and they took my insurance information. There was a scheduling mishap and I had to reschedule when I arrived for my appointment. Overall the staff was friendly and nice.

This was my first visit. They were very friendly and helpful. They explained every step and gave me a plan to have some needed work done. I feel a little less anxious about going to the dentist now.

I highly recommend them and never take time to write reviews. I have been in about 3 times so far. the whole staff is very kind and talkative, taking time to answer all questions and explain each step while they are cleaning or doing your fillings. there was a brief wait on one of my visits but they checked in with me and gave an accurate time frame. the space is very clean and they were nice enough to give a tour on the first visit. and recently made me some delicious tea while I waited for my numbing to kick in before working on me. ill never go anywhere else!

If you wanna see how a thief could be a dentist in the same time just visit this place. Don’t be tempted by their fancy place or equipments. BE AWARE!They have destroyed my roots canals because of their cheap work. They’ve told me that 3 of my teeth need crowns. 4 months later, 2 of them need to do roots canals!! Don’t think they’ll try to fix their problem, no! They won’t blame themselves at all! They’ll refer you to a root canal specialist and of course you will pay for their faults! Then they’ll ask you to come back not for replace your crown with a new one, of course NO! They will be settled with filling the root canal’s hole and you’ll PAY for it again :). By the way, I discovered later that 2 of my friends had the EXACT same issues!! So, I knew that my teeth didn’t need crowns at all. It’s just their way to get your money when your teeth need just a filling!In short, if you like yourself, your family and your friends just STAY AWAY from these low down dentists. KEEP THE AWARENESS ALIVE!

Recently moved to Kalamazoo and wanted to get set up with a new dentist. I made the mistake of choosing Drake Dental. On my first visit I was told that I had seven cavities that needed to be filled immediately at a cost of around $2000. I asked the dentist, Dr. Duffy, if she was sure about the cavities because my dentist back home never mentioned this to me. She threw a tantrum and kicked me out of her office a few visits later after she realized that she wouldnt be able to extort any more money from me. I went on to find another dentist in Kalamazoo. My new dentist agreed with my dentist back home that I didnt have any cavities that required immediate filling. He did point out however that I did have several small cavities, but these were so small that they did not need to be filled within the foreseeable future and that choosing to fill them now would do more harm than good. I was lucky to get kicked out of Dr. Duffys practice as this saved me from undergoing costly and unnecessary procedures that would have damaged my permanent teeth just so that she could make a quick profit.

Second visit to Drake Dental and I enjoyed both days. The hygienist and secretaries are friendly. The decor is pretty and the atmosphere is cozy. Schedule an appointment NOW

My current dentist at the time (in Jackson) said to call around because some places would temporarily place it for free until I could get to my dentist.I didnt believe him, but tried anyway.
