I took my pet there for emergency services. They started out with a quote of 5,000 to 10,000. I decided to have my pet euthanized instead of letting her suffer and they still ended up extorting 2,300 dollars.π’Never will go there with any other pet of mine. They said my dog could come home after I decided not to do surgery then they said she needed to be euthanized. It seems to me if they cant get money out of you theyll have you put your animal down. This place is all about money. If you love your pet dont come near this place.
Stay away from this place. They tried to charge me 2,000 for surgery on my pet and when I had them euthanize him they still charged me 2,000 in trumped up chargesπ€¬.
Dr. Colitz is really amazing! Very kind, caring Doctor. Has been going above beyond to help my dog with his eye issues.
Youβd best take out a second mortgage before going here. I waited in my car for five hours before being seen but that is not my complaint. I realize emergency rooms take a while. My issue is that I knew what was wrong with my dog and was clear when describing the symptoms. I have been a PA for over twenty five years. When it was all said and done, they charged me almost $700.00 for the visit. Jupiter Hospital wouldnβt have charged me that much If I had been a patient with a UTI.I should have realized a problem when I noticed one of the main vets there had an MBA. Tells me that money is more important that pet care.I know how important our pets are and that most of us would do anything for their care. These people realize that and take advantage of it.
If your pets is sick you can come any time. Blood work/xrays will be needed and sure, it will cost but results will be available immediately and so will be treatment/medication. btw my regular vet charged more for labwork, ultrasound and xrays and it took days to get the results. They have specialists onsite who will be consulted if needed without extra charge. They decided to do my kitty and abdominal ultrasound and did not charge me for it (I had results from my regular vet too but they still wanted to recheck). Dr Katz, dr Colitz, the internal medicine doctor - they were great.I am only subtracting one star because another time I came with my cat with serious neurological symptoms and the one doctor who was on duty that night did not do anything for her. I mean at least oxygen therapy and steroid injection would have brought much relief. Instead we were sent home and that night, since she was getting worse, I had to go to Boynton neurological emergency.
Only bring your pet here if it is an absolute emergency. Went for what I figured was a UTI in my 13 YO Labrador. Waited for a long time which can be expected at these places. They could not get a sterile sample of his urine so they suggested sedating my senior dog. I asked if I could just get the sample in a cup, and they said no. Finally the agreed to just prescribe antibiotics, but I canβt believe a place would jump to sedating an animal just to get a urine sample. Seems they are just looking to do whatever would cost the most rather than whatβs best for the animal
Terrible, my cats tail was cut and bleeding over a weekend. We took her there and back two times because the first set of stitches didnt stop the bleeding. They put about 15 stitches in her and i could of done a better job. Charged us $1,100. Looked like a rats nest. After taking her to our regular vet the following week to get checked out, they found that the terrible stitch job they did cut off her circulation to the end of her tail and now we have to amputate it. Horrible experience all the way around, take your pet somewhere else.
I would like to say that Dr. Katz at the emergency vet center is the best! my dog had a tumor on her heart found November 1 by another vet and I took her to several vets that said she would be dead in couple months and couldnβt help me. Dr. Katz took care of her several times and she is still alive and doing her dance in June over 8 months later. he was very empathetic and professional and hard-working and actually cares. I highly recommend him to any dog lover in need.
I had a wonderful experience with my puppy, Rudy. Dr. Causey and Dr. Katz could not have been more knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. The whole experience from the time we arrived until the time we left was amazing. They are compassionate and caring professionals. I left that night feeling confident and relieved that Rudy was well taken care of, so if you are in need of urgent or specialty care I highly recommend JPESE.
Horrible!!! First and very last time I will step foot in such a disorganized place.Arrived for appointment and the woman at the front desk said she forgot about my appointment, and that she did not fill out any of the paperwork and that I would need to fill it all out for her. Then after they brought my puppy back, the doctor came out to tell me that all is fine except he needs a trainer and proceeded to give me the name and number of a trainer in hand. I will not be returning to this practice.
I would not recommend this vet to anyone. Their main priority is collecting more $ than they already have. I had our cat there on more than one occasion & the outcome was he ended up needing surgery. After having him on all sorts of the wrong medications & speaking to the office manager, they ended up boarding him for us to stabilize him which at the time satisfied my horrible experience. He now needs life long special food for his urinary blockage. Being itβs a holiday weekend & they diagnosed him & performed his surgery, I thought they would be able to assist with calling in his prescription food. I was told by the receptionist that they donβt make outgoing calls & they were unable to assist with my request. I then spoke with the vet on duty who was also extremely rude & told me how the office manager would love to speak with me & then proceeded to HANG UP ON ME after attempting to continually talk over me! I will never return or recommend this vet to anyone. After receiving thousands of dollars of mine, Iβd think theyβd be a little more accommodating & understanding to the needs of animals that were once in their care.
Place is a scam for money . My dog has water retention build up in one of her legs after thousands of dollars in so called βtreatmentβ they finally suggested a MRI which was a couple more THOUSAND dollars after all that they told me that they couldnβt help me with anything. My dog is fine and happy and moving fine. her leg is just large and itβs annoying to both me and my puppy. All they want is to test your puppy and make more money off of you. Thereβs so much more money for them to treat something than to cure it or fix it . for some very weird reason the doctor also urged me to not bring my dog to any other vet for operation because it could make her worse than she is . whole place is a joke and have already been in contact with other providers who are better qualified
The doctors here are amazing very compassionate. Thank yall so much for being so caring....
After suffering a badly broken toe, our 8-month old Belgian Malinois, Blazer, needed an Orthopedic Vet visit. Off we went to a specialized orthopedic vet closer to our house (not Jupiter Pet). After seeing Blazer, this doctor (not mentioning any names as I dont want to disparage) urged us to amputate right away and then quickly suggested we do a bunch of pre-surgery prep that day (which cost me about $400 that day). We scheduled the surgery and then, on a whim, decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Padron at Jupiter Pet (an hour drive from our house). After a thorough examination, Dr. Padron gave us his diagnosis which was a breath of fresh air. He said that while the break would not heal 100% correctly and amputation was an option, Blazer would likely heal well enough, adapt to it and be fine (without any treatment and allowing him to stay intact). He further explained that if there was any lameness over time, we could always do the toe amputation later (and there was no rush and, if it was possible, its much better to allow the dog to remain intact and avoid going under the knife). Well, Dr. Padron was 100% correct. Its now almost 4-months later and Blazer is fine. Despite running, playing and doing all things a young Mal loves to do, he never limps and has completely forgotten about the toe. Because of Dr. Padrons advice, Blazer has all his digits and pads and didnt have to suffer the surgery, the potential issues (include balance issues) associated with missing a pad and toe and on a hind paw. I realize that its Dr. Padrons business to do surgery and thats what makes his actions so much more honorable. He could have easily suggested the surgery, taken our money and we would have been none the wiser. But, he didnt. He spent the time talking to us (great bedside manner) and treated us like family (unlike the first Dr. we saw that was VERY QUICK to rush us to an expensive surgery without any other options. The first doctor also tried to sell us some cardiology testing insisting that they heard some irregularity in Blazers heart, something Dr. Padron suggested was highly unlikely). Dr. Padron sets a high standard for Vets and any doctors, for that matter. Thank you, Dr. Padron, for not only being a highly skilled doctor, but for being an ethical, kind and thoughtful human being. Well certainly be back if Blazer gets into any future ortho trouble, given his exuberant Belgian Mal tendencies, and well send our friends your way for sure.
Amazing medical care for your pet!Brought my puppy with seizures and heavily intoxicated, I was greeted at 2am by a full staff, after they gave initial care to Rockie, I was advised on the possible treatment and cost. Doggy π made it thru the night ( he got O2, seizure meds, IV fluids, BP and EKG monitoring, plus many other procedures . I was kept informed by phone of the progress. Doggy made it thru the night and kept under observation most of next day. It was time to pick him up and I was worry I may have to pay more, but to my surprise I was informed they were giving me a good refund from my original deposit . So I dont really get the bad reviews in here .
Great experience working with the surgical team at Jupiter Pet Emergency. I had interaction with 7 or 8 staff members and all were outstanding to work with - these are dog / pet people, compassionate, attentive, responsive...everything you would want to expect. Our 9 year old chiweenie had a benign thymoma that needed to be removed. Surgery was performed by Dr. Latimer and his team. Dr. Latimer was clear on what was happening, what needed to be done, and what to expect before, during, and after the surgery - it was a pleasure working with him. They had to keep her on site overnight to observe her post-op and it was a big relief to have night shift nurses available 24/7 to call and check on how she was doing ( I even called around 2am to check on her). The surgery was a success and we couldnt be more grateful to Dr. Latimer and all the staff we had interaction with. Big thanks and hugs to Dawn and Heather on the night shift, to Hannah, Zachary, Jesse, Stephanie, and Dr, Latimer. Prior to the surgery, Hannah at Jupiter Pet mentioned to me that her own Dachshund had 2 successful surgeries performed at Jupiter Pet - that helped tremendously in inspiring confidence to go forward. I would eagerly recommend this team to anyone finding themselves in a similar situation. Thanks again, you guys are amazing!
So professional, kind and communicative. Really amazing staff helping us deal with a very tough situation. Thank you all so much!
Our five year old pitbull, Cash, kept injuring his hind leg. At first we thought he had torn his ACL, but it turns out he was just repeatedly hyperextending it.After several vet visits and X-rays, we finally found Dr. Padron. Two other vets had told us he was most likely going to need a surgery (TPLO) to prevent him from re-injuring his leg every time he ran around with the βzoomiesβ or even jumped off the bed.At our consult, Dr. Padron came out to the car with his mask on and explained to me all the different injuries that it could be and exactly why Cash did not have any of them (nothing apparent on X-ray, no movement between his bones) He explained that he felt surgery was inappropriate, and that our best option was a less invasive steroid injection into the joint under sedation, along with a joint lubricating-type medication. I was also very impressed by their pricing! Our initial consult visit, with x rays, was half what his normal vet charged us. The procedure cost was also VERY reasonable; everyone I mentioned the price to was shocked it was so inexpensive. When I dropped him off the morning of the procedure, the surgical tech said that the doctor had specifically asked her to ask if I was going to be hanging out in the area, as he understood we lived almost an hour away and he wanted to make sure that he could get Cash done early so that we wouldnβt be waiting around all day. Everyone was so kind, thorough, and understanding of my nerves about handing my baby over to be put under sedation. They made it so much easier for this anxious dog mom to drive away; I knew Cash was in the best possible hands. Dr. Padron called as soon as he was done with the procedure (about 45 minutes after drop off) and explained everything, asking if it was ok to give him additional medication for a bilateral ear infection he found before charging me for it. Iβm pretty sure they also trimmed his nails while he was sedated (thank god, because he hates it!) He recovered for an hour and a half more, and we were home by noon.Iβm so pleased with Jupiter Pet Emergency and Specialists and would recommend them time and again. Thank you to Dr. Padron and everyone involved in Cashβs care!
Our 60+ lb Lab got into a bag of food tonight. He was really sick, larthigic and bloated-- after a few hours we took him into Jupiter Pet ER at 9pm on a Friday night. They were great, saw him quickly even though they were really busy, checked his stomach and vitals, told us what to do and what to expect overnight.... but didnt believe we had to worry about his stomach flipping. We will follow-up with our vet tomorrow, (already had an am appt scheduled). They are very caring and seem really efficient-- would highly recommend.
I had a terrible situation where my beloved dog Dillinger was attacked by another dog and I have never seen an injury like it- I could see all in his chest, bones muscles everything! I didnβt think he would make it. Dr. Padron saved his life. They were not even sure if Dillinger was going to be able to keep his leg. Happy to report that Dillinger is walking on it and even wagging his tail as he continues to recover over there. The entire staff there is beyond compassionate, I honestly just cannot day enough nice things about these people. They have been 100% honest with me in managing my expectations and I feel so blessed to have brought Dillinger there. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend. Everyone I dealt with was AMAZING. Thank you Dr. Padron and Kelly and Nikki and everyone!!! (I am sorry for the names I cannot recall, I was very distressed when I brought him in and had to call back for the Surgeonβs name. These guys are the best- nobodyβs better!!!!!ππππ
Iβve seen the other reviews over here and Iβm not one of those disgruntled pet owners to give these guys a horrible review, I just want to write my own experience and you decide for yourselves. We came here to get our 8 year old French bulldog treated for his breathing issues, this place was highly recommended by another vet who we found did laser nostril clipping. Which was a huge plus for us ( a vet telling us he takes his own dogs here is the highest compliment )After our Frenchie was examined our vet told us with the combination of his soft palate being trimmed and nostrils clipped his breathing would improve significantly and it would perhaps reduce the chance of him risking his life with sleep apnea as he got older. The staff was attentive, they explained everything to us, including the procedure and itemized the bill for us. For starters the amount they charged us was 4 times the amount we got our first French bulldogs nostrils clipped when he was a puppy and 2 times the amount the recommending vet quoted us. So they are def expensive but they came in highly recommended so we said βokβ. We were told part of reason the bill was so high is because this is a risky surgery depending on our dogs reaction he may have to stay overnight and be monitored. So this was the first time we came over 3 hours driving (1.5 hr x 2) and we scheduled his surgery. On the scheduled day, he got his surgery they told us he seems to be fine and unlike the way they anticipated we can take him home. Our vet told us he didnβt prefer using melting stitches on his nose and they just need to schedule another appointment in 15 days. We trusted their decision and cooperated with that as well. Our first frenchies stitches were removed by another vet in 10 days so I was a little surprised by the time frame but we figured our second one is older so maybe it would take his tissue longer to heal. A week went by we noticed his nostrils and stitches were all swollen to the point it didnβt look very different from when we initially brought him in. But we remained positive thinking the swelling would go down after the stitches are removed. We brought him in to get his stitches removed. Our vet and nurse told us he wasnβt sitting still, so they will just leave the stitches in and they will fall out on their own in 2 months. I know our dog isnβt the most well behaved, but what dog allows you to just get a sharp object and cut stuff of of their face ?! I asked them if they gave him any type of sedatives to calm him down, cause we didnβt feed him anticipating they would do that, and we were told no, and they could do that if we insisted but that would be another 3 hours. I was disappointed that we drove all that way for no reason and not getting any new information but again we remained positive and left.Today, itβs been a couple months since the operation the stitches finally fell after at least two months but our dogs nostrils are barely different and his breathing is exactly the same. Iβm not a professional but I think our vet either didnβt open his nostrils enough, maybe kept the stitches on for too long or not sure what he could have done more but after spending above 2K on something, comparing the results with my other French bulldog that had only a nostril clipping for $600, I wasnβt anticipating our pup would breath the same exact way.Just sharing my experience, as to those of you who are trying to decide, if itβs worth it to get a non life threatening procedure done at such an expensive establishment, my answer would be a βnoβ . Iβm disappointed, sorry. Way too expensive for a regular type of treatment.P.s our first Frenchie was also not happy getting his stitches removed, but the first place made it work some how and his breathing results were immediately better he still breaths quietly and effortlessly. If you ask me why we didnβt take our second dog to them, well this guy is my fiancΓ©βs dog and we wanted to give him the best treatment our money can afford and the results in my point opinion were disappointing.
HEED CAUTION.. DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE IF YOU CARE FOR THEM!!!! If I could give no stars, I would. After many failed attempts to put my trust in this place, I can confidently say this is not where you want to bring your pet in an emergency. Staff lists drugs on their reports for their own use that is not relevant to the clients diagnosis. They misdiagnosed our dog and recommended extensive emergency surgery that would have been life threatening. They lied to monetarily benefit rather than provide the care for our dog that was needed. Do not go here if you care for your pet! I recommend VHS who is honest and reliable and truly care for their patients... Jupiter pet emergency does not and you are only putting you animal at further risk by taking here.
We started coming there for the optometrist. They did a great job, and really cared for our dog. We had to put him down this week. It was his time. They were very kind and courteous through the process. It really helped us in a very sad day. I really appreciated them through a tough emotional process.
Literally the best staff in South Florida. Been to all the ERs and Dr offices in the area and Im so glad I found these people. Not to mention had to come in for my dog on the 4th of July in an emergency situation and the staff and Drs were all amazing!! Even having to work on the 4th. You have a new patient for life!
After taking our golden retriever to three different local vets, and being told each time that they lacked the expertise to complete a surgery that he needed ( removal of a large Ranula under his tongue) we finally found Dr. Padron at Jupiter Pet Emergency. Dr. Padron took the time to explain the options to me, and demonstrated expertise and knowledge in his ability to complete the surgery. The nurses and staff were extremely professional and knowledgeable, and showed compassion for my dog throughout the entire process. Post op I was provided with a very detailed set of what exactly what was done during the operation, as well as very detailed care instructions. The sutures (about 25/30) along his neck were executed flawlessly- I have never seen such clean work. I highly recommend Dr. Padron and his team, and canβt thank them enough for a job well done.
Daisy has seen Dr. Katz on two occasions for injuries to her ACL. This morning while at Juno Beach she injured her leg again. Dr. Katz is beyond professional and a compassionate physician listening to everything I had to say about the injury. His examination was thorough, comprehensive and accurate as to how treat Daisys injury. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
I donβt think it could have gone any better, they saved my dogs life. We were lucky to have found this office. Super friendly, helpful, and professional through the entire visit. Peter is back to normal and doing better than ever.
Will never go here again! Horrible experience with Dr. Latimer, and no attempt to make it right on their part. I brought my two year old white mixed dog in to see Dr. Latimer because he had some small growths on his hind legs. Within minutes Dr. Latimer came out and said that my dog had mass cell tumorβs. Without hesitation I scheduled surgery out of concern for my dogs well-being and health. Dr. Latimer sent off some samples of the mast cell tumorβs during his surgery to see what grade they were, so we could figure out how aggressive we needed to be with treatment. When the results came back, the samples were identified as inflamed hair follicles. Basically a fancy word for ingrown hairs. Dr. Latimer never took an aspirate of the growths on his hind legs before telling us that they were mass cell tumorβs! When I asked him why he did not take an aspirate of the growths to confirm that they were tumors, he said that he just assumed that they were mass cell tumorβs because of the color and breed of my dog. Not only was my dog scarred for life and had to go through a horribly painful recovery, but there was no attempt at reconciliation for the over $3000 that I had to spend on an unnecessary surgery! Not to mention, the amount of time that I had to stay home with my dog through his recovery, missing work. Iβve added photos, so you can see just how intense the surgery and recovery was. My dog could not sit down on his own for over a month due to the 3 large gashes on both of his legs from the surgery. Veterinarians are supposed to be people that we can trust with our animals lives, I will never trust Dr. Latimer ever again! As far as I am concerned he is extremely unprofessional and only out for your money!
Thank you Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center. Thank you to the Surgery Center for helping me with emergency surgery on very short notice. What can I say, this is the place I will be going to for any unlucky mishaps that my animals may have. I love the 24/7 care and the knowledge that no matter what there is a place to go. The phone system is easy to understand when calling and you are connected to a person in less then 5 seconds.
We had to bring our small dog in for emergency surgery after big dog got loose and mauled him. They were quick to respond and begin his treatment. Everybody was extremely nice and professional. The surgery center and the actual surgeon have been calling to check in afterwards. Our dog was handled with care and has been doing great in recovery because of the fine work they performed!
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! so much for taking care of Little Calvin last night. You could tell I was a wreck and you went out of your way to communicate to me that he was in good hands (Id say the best hands!) and that he would be cared for. And you totally did as promised!Thank you for putting a nervous cat daddy at about as much ease as possible! Ill never forget the kindness of both Laurell and Dr. Sigman!Did I mention, thank you! :-)
Iβm so grateful I found this place. We got the run around from 2 other vets about my cats diagnosis, we went here as an emergency visit and saw the ER doctor. She was amazing, she sat with us for about an hour and really cared about our questions and the well-being of our cat. That night we decided we were going to bring him back the next morning and amputate, he had surgery and they truly saved his life. Peanut is flourishing :))) ! I will take the drive from west palm any day and trust them with my other pets in a heart beat. They really care about your pets not just the money.
A wonderful place that cares for your pet!Weve been a patient for some time now... Dr. C and the staff are well equipped for my pets health and well fare. They have done an amazing job with safety Covid procedures. They were recommended by my primary vet, Gardens Animal Hospital, for my pets speciality eye care.
I went here because my regular vet would not see him saying they were too busy for him (needless to say they lost my business) and I could not be more pleased. This place is top notch! Dr. Katz was amazing with my dog and explained everything in detail when it came to my boy. I will be back and will recommend you to anyone I meet for emergency needs. Great experience from the time I walked in until the time I left. Highly recommend!
We took my sweet puppy Peach here when we noticed signs of poisoning. Needless to say, we were scared out of our wits (and so was Peach). The staff took her immediately and gave her wonderful care. It was a great experience and I recommend their care to everyone. Thank you so much for your help and compassion.
Grateful this place is here. Unfortunately weβve been here a few times. Great people very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
The two girls that helped me today were amazing! Extremely nice and extremely compassionate. The other few unfortunate times Iβve had to go there the staff has always been wonderful. They make both the human and animal feel at ease during such a horrible time
Multiple issues.
Never use for emergency services! Receptionist canβt tell you where they are located not address, location in terms of streets, or what they are near. For example when I asked where they were located off Indiantown road she said βhold on I donβt know.β Meanwhile we are rushing our dog to them. After asking she could only give me the address. Once arriving we waited for 30mins to see a vet. As we waited a family came in with their dog in rough shape and waited out front for someone to just come out front to help them. The βtechβ didnβt know how to put in needle to give fluids she poked and poked until my heavily sedated dog screamed in pain. Three times staff walked into our room and were on the wrong room and not only to us but you could hear βIβm sorry wrong roomβ happening more than once next door to a poor family who was putting their dog to sleep. We didnβt get anywhere with them from when we walked in to when we walked out paying the bill.Do not trust them with your pets!
Amazing!! We just had to put our dog down and the team at this facility was so loving, caring and professional and helped us get through it! Dr Gandy was great! Understood what we were going through! Would highly recommend them!
Overpriced.... they were able to give my cat some fluids and promised to give me more info on thyroid treatment options, but never followed up. It cost me over $750 for a 24-hr stay with fluids.... I just felt their care and treatment of my cat were minimal at best.
Robin was very compassionate and an educated professional. We had to make a hard decision and based on her real life and professional experience, it enabled us to feel good with our decision. The vet also took the time to explain everything and was very honest with the diagnosis. He did not sugar coat anything or leave us with unwarranted hope. Instead, he gave us options and the pros and cons of each option.
The most amazing staff. The scariest night with my fur baby and the entire Overnight staff spoke beyond professionally & put me at ease.
This place is incredible and I highly recommend taking your fur babys here. I just wish I would have found this place sooner. π’ I took my baby girl Adie (cat) to see Dr. Jennifer Ayoub after months of no answers from another Vet and, in my opinion, improper medical treatment. I will be forever thankful to them for the knowledge, professionalism and true compassion Dr. Ayoub and the staff showed me but most importantly showed Adie the short period of time they treated her prior to her passing. β€ If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!
The doctors and entire staff are so gentle and caring, putting me at ease when my chihuahua Sushi broke her leg.It was a very bad break .. knowing they are there for support and eager to answer my questions makes this stressful time so much easier .The staff treated her like it was their baby too!
Never will I ever set foot in that place. I brought my dog to this vet not knowing that it would be my last couple of hours with my dog. My husband and I arrived around 1 AM, we talked to the doctor, Dr. Lesia Bennett and we told her that we only wanted to do bloodwork for now and not the X rays that cost around 600$, she agreed. Her assistant came back saying that she needed to do X-Rays, we told her that the doctor said it was fine with only bloodwork for now and she looked surprise, she obviously didnβt know what she was doing. After doing her bloodwork the doctor came back saying that my Pomeranian Maya had Renal failure, we made the decision to put her down. After we put my Maya down (I had her in my arms) the doctor gave us some time with her and never ever came back, EVER!!!When my dog started getting hard, I couldnβt handle having her in my arms anymore so we tried to call someone and started knocking on doors ( took them 30 mins to finally answer us) Please keep in mind that my dog had just died. Finally after 30 mins of waiting for someone to come back or even answer us, a girl came back, super rude, we felt like we were completely bothering her, she said 2 words to us took my dog and never came back. Another 15 mins goes by, we started calling again, somebody showed up, again with the rudeness! And told us we could go. Nobody, not even the doctor bothered coming back to see if we were ok or even just tell us that we could go. Like this wasnβt enough we came back a week and a half later to pick her ashes up like they told us (we wanted an individual cremation) the girl at the desk went to the back and came back with a bag with my dog in it!!! They never sent her to get cremated because they forgot to take the HOLD sticker off the bag. We asked for the manager because it was so ridiculous to us. Manager told us it would be another 2 weeks, my husband was so upset that he told her that we better not wait more than a couple of days to have her back, that it was their mistake and they better do everything they need to get her cremated as soon as they can.We have nothing but bad things to say about this place, everybody we interacted with the night of Mayaβs death was rude, all they thought about was money and they had absolutely no compassion, and over priced!!!! I wish my last hours with my dog could have been somewhere else. Never will I go to this place again. Ridiculous!!!!!
Had to take our Cavalier there after suspected toad contact - excellent staff and knowledgeable. Very grateful to them. Thank you.
My dog Buster had Bloat surgery at Pet Emergency center and referral on Northlake. He had Edima in his leg, they did not take care of him properly and released him to early, they complained he was too big to handle (200lbs) within 30 hours of his release he had a major infection in his body, his foot swelled so much that the pads of his feet could not keep up with the skin so they fell off. We brought him back because they were at fault and needed to fix the problem. They wrapped his foot got his temperature down and gave him some antibiotics and sent him on his way again three days later. We had gone to Dr. Latimer in the past so I brought him to the facility to see if he could help him again, he told us to do the hyperbaric tank, we did 10 treatments for Buster I was reluctant because of the price but the results that we had were amazing! In my opinion Jupiter pet emergency is the best out there. I wish we wouldβve taken Buster there in the first place but it is an hour away and with bloat surgery timing is everything. Itβs been almost 3 months since this happened and we are still wrapping his foot but Iβm amazed at how fast he healed with the help of Dr. Latimer, thank you so much for everything!
I did not realize on a Saturday at 6 PM I did not have refills for my dogs medication. I called and even though Iβve only been there one time the girl who answered when I donβt her way to help me since Iβm leaving town tomorrow. I am very grateful that Dr. Latimer was so accommodating.
Our dog had not urinated after his ACL surgery for over 48 hours when we called Jupiter Pet Emergency. We brought him in around midnight and they managed to get him to empty his bladder without having to use a catheter, only charging us for the examination fee.On top of it they informed us that our other vet had only prescribed him around half the level of pain killers for his post op that was appropriate!Very happy we took our dog in to Jupiter pet Emergency.
Brought my dog in as an emergency and received excellent care from entire staff over 2-3 days. Expensive but arenβt they all! My dog is home and back to normal...so money well-spent.
We take our eight-year-old adopted racing greyhound to Dr. Carmen Colitz. She specializes in ophthalmic veterinary medicine and she is amazing. Her bedside manor and her dedication to her patients is so far above and beyond any vet weve ever experienced that it defies description. She actually responded to an email I sent her this summer while she was literally on the other side of the world on her much-deserved vacation! As so often happens in a business, the attitude moves from the top down. The staff in all areas of the clinic are equally caring about their patients. And their care doesnt just extend to the animals ... this team knows how to treat people too! This group offers other specialized services as well. After a chance meeting in the parking lot with their vet who specializes in chemo, I know thats where well go if we ever need chemo for any of our pets.I highly recommend Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty in Jupiter - they are absolutely top notch!
Dr. Katz was a life saver today for our dog. We had an issue arise on Fathers Day and he took him under his wing and fixed him right up within 4 hours. Dr Katz is so incredibly pleasant to speak to. Thank you Dr Katz for your expertise and not charging us huge fees for something so incredibly important to us- our dog, our beloved family member. Itβs obvious you are a good person because our dog didnβt even growl at you... he doesnβt like any strangers. If you go here, get Dr Katz... you wonβt regret it!!
I had called late at night because a raccoon had attacked my ducks and it was the only pet emergency I could find nearby. The woman who answered the phone promptly told me we dont treat ducks. And hung up on me. There was no empathy or any suggestion of where else I could turn let alone advice on what to do during the night.I get that its not your typical patient but these ducks are loved pets. We were desperately seeking help only to be blown off.
Dr. Latimer and staff are wonderful. My puppy needed emergency surgery and we were very lucky to have such excellent care!
If you want your animal to die send it to these incompetent people. They are the worst! The incompetency in sickening.Threy are totally unable to deal with any emergencies. My animal died in their care within 24 hrs of arriving.I spent 3,000 dollars for those people to tell me she needed another 10,000 dollars of care. She was a three year old beautiful cat.I spoke to the vet he said βIβm tired β.
Saturday, we took my 15 yrs old shih tzu to the Center because of breathing problems. We were so impressed with the care and kindness that our old gal received. She thinks shes puppy again after two days of medication. I cannot thank Dr. Katz enough.
I would never suggest anyone go here and see Dr. Sarah Evans. She was rude and lazy. Listen here- I paid over $1000 for surgery to drain and repair my dogs ear for an aural hematoma. The stitches were left in for a month, (longer than the typical 10-14 days to create scar tissue) and when I went back a month later to get them out she left about 8 stitches in. My dog was back there for 45 minutes and she came barging in the room after 45 mins only telling me Oh, he was so uncooperative! He wasnt being good at all. I didnt get them all out, we would have had to sedate him, the remaining stitches can stay in for the rest of his life, theyre fine. -That was literally all she said. I had to ask about cleaning, how it looked, how its healed and how to proceed from here on out... All she cared about was getting out of the room and telling me how he did not want to behave and sit still. DUH. They were grown into and embedded into his skin after a month. His whole ear flap was covered in stitches. Of course it hurt, of course he wasnt happy. I took him 3 days later to my normal vet and they were very upset and shocked she left them in and didnt offer to try again and suprised at the way she handled everything start to finish. They got the remaining stitches out, and they were loving and patitent and they did not even charge me! Very unhappy.
Dr Colitz, Dr Latimer, Dr Evans and their staff showed such compassion and love to my little Doggie Ozzie. They went above and beyond to provide me with the best care and service for Ozzie which provided me such comfort. Not only are they great veterinarians they do their job with all their hearts. I would highly recommend them if you need any surgery done on your little furry friends as they treat them like they were their own.
If I could give zero stars I would, I noticed a problem with my new dog i adopted, he was vomiting and uncontrollably peeing and almost lifeless, i called ahead to let them know i was coming to see them they saif they were open, upon getting to the facility I had to ring a doorbell to be let in i was told over a intercom they would be right out, well after waiting almost 30 minutes with what i thought is my lifeless dog dying they never showed up..i ended up leaving to find another place to get help for my sick puppers. There were no other cars in the parking lot and noone at the front desk they just let me sit there waiting without even checking on my dog. Im terrified for the animals who get seen by such careless people.
The staff was very very nice, theres no doubt there. I brought my dog in a couple weeks ago because he was twitching and looked to be in pain and didnt want to move or stand up. They kept saying seizures but he wasnt having seizures. Talking about neurological issues and brain tumors and how I should see a specialist. I paid over $1400.00 for that visit in which they kept him overnight for observation after running numerous tests they sent him home saying he was normal throughout the night and to go see a neurologist. I brought him to my regular vet the very next day where they immediately found he had a RUPTURED EAR DRUM AND EAR INFECTION!!!!! Which would explain the pain, twitching and balance being off. They gave him pain meds, anti inflamatory meds and antibiotics. I paid $120.00 The people at Jupiter Pet ER should have seen that ear infection and eardrum rupture FIRST THING.. ears are one of the very first very basic things to check in any animal as is the same for humans! They either ignored it because they wanted more money or simply didnt look at his ears. I would not take my pet back to this emergency center again. They cannot even diagnose basic issues and dont know how to perform basic exams. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the staff was so kind.
These people are pretty awesome at what they do. Great staff and very helpful.
My dog was really sick and took him to this place. The first time they took him and I hope did an X-ray of his stomach. I did get those results but due to them not allowing us to go with the dog, I am not sure if theses tests were his.He got a little better than went downhill again. Due to the time, we went there again and I did trust them. I got a urine test while waiting which had blood in it. There was a dog that they saw before mine that had a neurological disease and he dragged his paw and it needed dressing as he ripped the nail out. When they put us in a room, there was blood all over the floor and when I pointed it out they admitted that it was from the previous dog but did not attempt to clean it up.Told me the urine had a growth and that we should do a blood test as well so we did agree. The vet told me that he would call us with the results. When I did not hear from the vet after four days I called and they couldnβt not find the results at first. Took the girl about 15minutes after that to come back on the phone and tell me that the urine test showed that the growth had cleared up and to continue on the medication. I could not understand how the same urine test that showed a growth could have cleared itself up.I then asked for the blood test result and she stated there was none. I asked for the test to be emailed to me. The test was collected the day before I went to the vets and had the wrong name on it. I emailed the facility a few times no answer.I left it a few days hoping that the vet would call back. On the Friday night (6days after the tests). I called and asked about the urine test and the blood test. The receptionist told me to wait and she would get the vet, she came back and hung the phone up on me. I called back and asked for all the tests to be emailed to me. When I received them they all had someone elseβs name on them so they were not my dogs.I called back and she told me that #he did not know where my tests were but the vet would call me within half an hour-no call and I stayed up for four hours longer in case they did call.I called again Saturday and was not nice. The vet did call me back and stated that they were my dogs tests they just put the wrong date on the urine and the wrong name on the tests. Before this I asked if they had a client by the name they had on the results and they stated they did and gladly told me breaking confidentiality. They gave me some more tablet but charged me Lot of money for them and again they did not help. Took him to my vet, told them what happened and about the blood in the urine. My dog peed while there and said to my vet that there was blood in that, he looked at it and knew straight away what was wrong.I paid around 1,000.00 for a vet that did nothing.A few weeks later I got an email from them with the same results and they had changed the name on them but not the date of the urine test. Isnβt that fraud?I emailed and asked for the money back for the testing at least and they responded and apologized, but Would not answer my questions and the next day the office manager after I asked her again to refund my money and to answer my questions stated she was sending my emails to there attorney, which has an aol account and I could communicate with them. It has been numerous weeks now and no reply from anyone. All they want is your money and donβt care about the animals
Wonderful, kind and knowledgeable staff!I dont usually write reviews, but I was very impressed with how quickly my dog was seen and treated effectively. It is very comforting to know such great care is minutes away from our home.
Staff was calm given the situation which kept me calm and dog was treated well. Good place to take in case of emergency.
Took our kitten to Dr. Mark Garny. After $250 worth of xrays and exams, he determined her hacking and inability to produce a fur ball or object meant she had a scratch in her throat. If he had listened to her labored breathing, he would have known her symptoms were an upper respiratory infection. 2 nights later, she was in agony and wouldnt come out from under the bed. Took her back and this time saw Dr. Esvel Vanguas. After doing my own research, I told her it was either early signs of Asthma or an upper respiratory infection. Within 5 minutes, she confirmed it was an upper respiratory infection which can be life threatening if it goes on too long. Another $110 later, we got the correct meds and our kittys hacking is almost gone. I wouldnt not recommend Dr. Garny but the staff there is very, very nice as are the facilities so we would go back if we had another emergency and we would use Dr. Yanguas again.
Very helpful friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
Cannot say enough about Dr. Latimer and his staff. Gus is one lucky dog.
Reliable and helpful 24hr emergency staff that has helped and my chihuahua twice from life threatening dog attacks. Bless the staff and the phone operators who answer hysteric calls from worried pet owners.
We brought our dog here for a bilateral FHO. Not only were we treated great but the staff made every it possible to accomodate our busy schedule. The surgery was a success and we couldnt be happier. I would recommend to all my friends and family who need care for their pets.
Our dog, Elvis, had an eye issue and we went to see Dr Colitz. She was very kind. She helped remedy the eye issue. A few weeks later we had an emergency on weekend and she recommended an emergency clinic on pga that helped but did not get all the answers. We brought him to Dr. Colitz, she consulted/collaborated with other vets to find the best way to help. Our dog was near death. His liver and pancreas were enlarged to the point of impairing his breathing. He was struggling and we were devasted. She took the time to treat him as if he was her own. That is all an owner can ask for. Two weeks later and he is much better. He is on prescription food, medication and supplement and is doing well. She explained that a month into it we will need to do another ultrasound and blood work to see what changes there are and itβs not cheap but itβs also not ridiculously expensive. Our dog is elderly and we know his time is limited. Knowing your vet will take the time to consult with others to get it right and to keep you updated during a difficult time is comforting. Again, the kindness and patience she exhibited during the days of crisis made all the difference. We really appreciate her help with our little Elvis. She has helped and has given us more time. We have also used her husband Dr Latimer for knee surgery on one of our other dogs, Red. Red does not like going to the vet. Dr. Latimer handled it like a pro and Red is doing well. Overall, I prefer this specialty vet. Their new place is large and clean. I recommend and pet owner consider their services.
I am forever grateful to Dr. Latimer and his staff. My 7 year old frenchie had a blocked salivary gland. After 3 days and 5 vets saying they couldnt help her, I almost gave up hope. Dr. Latimer was the only one who knew exactly what to do and performed the complicated surgery the same day even though he was very busy. Very clean office with state of the art equipment. Thank you to Sue and Vanessa also!!! My family will never forget what you all did for Baby!
We have a 6 month old golden retriever puppy that had severe hip dyplasia. Our regular vet recommended Dr. Latimer and he was amazing. He did a double FHO hip surgery and our pup is doing great now. He had a much quicker recovery than we imagined and is able to be much more active now than he was before surgery. We highly recommend this office!
From Patrice Kelly .There is something to say about being COMPASSIONATE ! ( for the Review a few below this one )
I have never written a review but I thought it was necessary for this occasion. My 3 month Siberian Husky was found on 10/30/16 in pain at around 9:00 pm. We rushed her to the closest Pet ER in Boca, from their they highly recommended Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center. Later that evening we transported her to Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center. We found out our puppy needed special orthopedic surgery due to breaking her femur & that Dr. Latimer was the best. I couldnt agree anymore. All the staff took very good care of my baby Luna & even though its been less then a week shes doing amazing. Dr. Latimer even squeezed in Lunas surgery last minute on Monday afternoon, the day after she got hurt. She still has a long recovery, but I cant thank Dr. Latimer enough for helping out my baby. She should make a full recovery. Very thankful for all the staff.
My smart, fun loving, 12 year old dog Joey a mixed breed maltese/pomeranian was diagnosed with diabetes. UGH! Of course adding insult to injury, he lost his vision within weeks due to the diabetes which is a very common occurrence. The thing was, he just didnt adjust well to not being able to see. He was depressed and confused. It was not like having the same pet any longer. His personality and quality of life took a turn for the worse. Along with the stress of trying to take care of a diabetic pet and then adding blindness to the mix, things were just not going well at home at all. We had to practically hover over him 24/7 so he wouldnt have an accident. His life has always been one of privilege, and once again he somehow got lucky and hit the lotto withDr. Carmen Colitz! Of course due to his age, I was apprehensive as to wether or not to put him through a surgery, and yes I knew it would be a lot of care post-op. But after meeting Dr. Colitz and gaining the education, information, and support of knowing that I could get his diabetes managed (she is an expert on that subject) and that she would make him see again, I knew I had to go for it! Boy was I glad that I did! He got his life back! I know he is in his senior years and he has health issues, but I couldnt sit back and watch him everyday living in the dark. It was not working for the both of us and I was stressed out and feeling I was letting him down in the end. There is not one person when I bring up her name that does love her and the expert level of care and manner that she will treat your pet. No exaggeration...She treats them like they are her own! The surgery was a success and my little baby Joey is no longer in the dark. Also, I would like to give a shout out to her staff as well. A wonderful team effort from the front to the back! Exceptional!
Our puppy had early onset hip dysplasia, and Dr. Latimer performed 2 different types of surgeries to try and help him. Thanks to Dr. Latimer, our little boy is on the long road to recovery. Dr. Latimer and his staff at Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center are kind, caring and have taken excellent care of our little boy thus far. We highly recommend him and his practice.
My wife and I noticed that our Shih Tzu was having problems urinating so we took him to his vet. At which time they performed an examination and ran some tests to find he had a lot of kidney stones in his urethra and bladder according to the x-ray. Our vet informed us they did not have a full staff as it was the weekend and understandably, a lot of them already left for the day. Our Vet office called the nearest Animal Emergency Hospital due to the urgency to ensure timely treatment was received. The Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center confirmed they could perform the emergency surgery as our fear was the bladder may burst! We arrived at the Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center and spoke to Dr. Davidson who was on-call, who re-examined our dog and gave us a quote. We told the doctor that we can bring him back when he is scheduled for the surgery so that he is comfortable at home instead of being placed in a cage where he will be stressed while waiting for surgery. This would be a good place to note the dog is a very spoiled member of our family and has never needed to be caged. The doctor confirmed that our pet was the next in line for surgery scheduled for 6pm and they needed the time in between to get the dog prepped. We agreed to leave him there and wait for their call to let us know how the surgery went. Later that night had not yet heard anything from the emergency center. When we called to check the status, my wife was told there were other emergencies and the dog would be going into surgery within the next half hour. I placed a follow-up call and the person on the phone said that he had not gone into surgery since there were other emergencies and could not give me a time when that would happen. Understandably emergencies coming in must be prioritized, but at that point I told the person on the phone that it is was not right for them to say he would be in surgery at 6pm and 6.5 hours later nothing had been done. The person placed me on hold until the on-call veterinarian (Dr. Geraghty) got on the phone. Instead of explaining what was creating the delay in emergency treatment, he began arguing and yelling at me on the phone stating that there were other emergencies and my dog was not one of them and the more time they spent answering their phone to explain the status of our dog, is keeping them back from the emergencies. I was surprised as to how rude, disrespectful and inconsiderate his response was. Three witnesses listen to the conversation and was surprised on the tone and attitude of this doctor. Anyone who treats their pets as family members could relate to how frustrating it was being set back time and time again while the dog sat in a cage with no relief. After listening to the Doctor, I told him that I wanted my dog back, a full refund and I would be coming to pick him up in 10 minutes. His response was clear - come take your dog! after which, he hung up. My wife and I picked up our Shih Tzu and brought him home. He was in a lot of pain so not long after, I took him to another Emergency Hospital. I communicated what had happened with the other emergency hospital as they performed the same examinations and tests. At the second Emergency Hospital, they was honest, patient and explained that they may not be able to do the surgery until Monday since staff is not available and it would be my choice to bring him back or take him to his vet. I told them that I will take him to his vet on Monday since I will have to wait and he would be more comfortable at home. They provided the appropriate pain medications (injection and tablets) to provide the dog some needed relief. I would not recommend Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center to anyone! I understand the after-hours staff may be minimal and emergencies must be prioritized. However, during a stressful time for both my dog and my family, I would hope more patience and attention would be provided to assure the families their pets are getting the appropriate care.
We brought our dog, Hugo, here for a non-life threatening pet emergency on a Sunday morning. We had heard good things about this place but we have also had our share of negative experiences with emergency pet clinics in general, so we were a little apprehensive at first.Even before we stepped foot into the clinic, the staff was extremely courteous and warm on the phone, which put our minds at ease. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by Candace, who was very friendly and accommodating, both to us and Hugo.We were immediately shown into an exam room and Candace performed a very thorough initial exam. Within minutes the doctor also showed up. She had great bedside (or is it crateside?) manners and explained to us everything she was doing. She suggested that since the problem was with the eyes, to also have a consultation with Dr. Colitz, who is the eye specialist and happened to be on-site.Continuing with the trend, Dr. Colitz was also extremely friendly and attentive. She was very knowledgeable and respected the fact that we keep at a minimum the amount of traditional medicines given to our pet and she worked within those boundaries.End result, we walked out with an accurate diagnosis, a treatment plan and a tremendous sense of relief. We would highly recommend this place for emergencies but also for non-emergency specialty care, especially opthalmology. We have never met a more compassionate group of professionals!
Dr. Latimer fixed our 4 lb Yorkies two luxating patellas and a torn ACL 6 days ago. Our little girl is up and walking around. Slowly, but she is walking! All of the staff took amazing care of our baby. We were so pleased with everything about this practice. Professional, courteous, knowledgeable, reasonable pricing, and CARING! You can tell that everyone here cares very much about the animals that they see. I asked several people that I trust who I should use to do Lunas surgery, and every single one of them said Dr. Latimer. Thanks to him and his staff, our dog will have many years of being able to run and play just like other dogs, instead of limping and being carried a lot. She may be little, but inside of her there is a big dog :)Thank you, Dr. Latimer!
We took our dog Elvis over to the Jupiter Pet Emergency on the Sunday before Christmas Eve. He had been acting like something was in his eye but we couldnt see anything wrong. So I talked my husband into going there because I wasnt sure if our vet would be open on Monday. Right away they call Dr. Carmen Colitz and she was there in about 10 minutes. She looked in Elviss eye and saw that he had poked himself somehow and had 2 puncture holes in his eye and it was infected. By the next day it was looking very bad even with a very aggressive treatment and she had to operate. It was touch and go for awhile if she was going to be able to save his eyeball. But she was able to and even if he cant see out of it at least she didnt have to remove it. She and her staff text us and called thru the night ( Xmas Eve ) and let us know how Elvis was doing. My husband was so worried that Elvis would wake up and be scared he wasnt at home. The staff held him all nite so he would be calm. They went above and beyond what I expected and that was a great comfort to my husband and I . Elvis is much better now. He cant see out of that eye and he also thinks he deserves special treatment now, but I cant say enough about the good work they do there. We were so luck that Dr. Colitz was there since that Pet Emergency had just opened the month before with the doctors that are now there . If you check google you will find a lot about her and her work with marine animals ( I didnt know that marine animals had so many problems with their eyes.) We were very luck that someone of her caliber was there that day. We can not thank her enough.
Incredible people!
