We only visited the area to get our kayaks in the water, but the staff we met were nice and informative. The water was cool (springs keep it fresh, even in the summer heat) and pretty clear. Had some decent rapids and was deep enough to float the whole way (didnt have to get out and float or carry the kayaks on the main river). Were going to consider coming back to camp and have them taxi us up river for a day float, next time were in the area!
Came out this evening with a couple of friends to spend the evening swimming and sitting by a campfire. The owner greeted us and asked if we were joining our other friend Deb, who had arrived a few minutes earlier. He said he wasnt going to charge us, because the weather was uncertain. Told us enjoy! We mostly had the place to ourselves, and its a beautiful campground! Good people own this place. I will say the highway noise can be a bit loud if you intend to camp. But I always feel safe, and its kept clean. Awesome spot!
ALWAYS a good time! The kids always have a blast. Very well kept. 10/10 recommend
I came and not in one place was the rule that motorbikes were not allowed so i rode it in a spot where no one would be disturbed and soon after the park manager came very aggressively and even threatened my friend who was just saying sorry and the manager stood up to him as if about to engage. Very aggressive and the situation could of been handled way more mature. Paid for my friends to be threatened
We had a group of about 20 people come here and spend the day for my daughters birthday, it was a lot of fun the kids loved it. We will be back again this summer.
Took my son camping for his first time. Got a nice spot overlooking the creek. Staff at the front entrance were friendly and helpful! Campgrounds and restrooms were clean. Had a great time and its close to town so really convenient in case you forget something (like I did). Some of the spots are close to the highway and you can hear the traffic all night, but it is what it is and didnt really bother me.
We all love this place! Used to go to other campgrounds in the area but now this is our spot from now on.
I wouldnt recommend this place if you are seeking a relaxed non confortational day with friends and family along the river.Scott has severe anger issues that should not be present to public. He lacks basic communication people skills. He acts as a total KAREN completely. The old owners are missed dearly.Throughly check all sources of reviews such as google yelp and many others and you find many times he is confortational angerly towards his customers for such KAREN like reasons. He sure can ruin a good family summer day.
One of the best gravel bars on shoal creek. Great camping plenty of space. Dollar general is quarter mile away for quick grab on forgotten items. Rv hook ups and tons of primative camp sites. Swimming and fishing r a must here. They rent canoes. And sell firewood on site aswell. Great spot for the family or a romantic rustic getaway.
Very well taken care of! The employees were very helpful and nice!
Waters Edge was a fun campground to visit, the pros of this campground are the regulars at the campground are welcoming and friendly. The campground was spread out enough where you could be secluded or engage with others. The camping sites are mostly on the waters edge which makes the name of this site legit. They have a bath house which has two toilets and a shower, they arent clean but its a campground bathroom so i really didnt expect anything else. It was pretty standard. It was 10.00 to camp per night per person which was cheap and included the day fishing pass. The cons, the campsite sits right next to the highway, so you can see the traffic, so if solitude is what you are searching for this isnt the place, since you can always hear the traffic, the creek is dirty and trash liters the ground. The shower house/bath house is not very private so its very easy for people to be peeping toms which is what i experienced once. I did come back two weekends in a row to get the full feel of the park. If you want a cheap camping trip and just a short float or a family day this would be a great campsite, but not for ones who want to actually be secluded or on an actual river and not a creek next to the highway.
They are wayyyy to strict and don’t give any warnings I hate it there and I’d would rather go to Arkansas which is a hour away to camp
This is our 2nd home. I love the campsite it is our favorite place to go. Everyone is treated as family down here. Our kids love it, you will not find a cleaner, safer, kid friendly place to camp in the four states. Thank you guys we will be back out in a few weeks!
Surprisingly nice place they have electric hookups free campers and plenty of areas for the tent campers as well. beautiful place. check it out I recommend it
Place is real nice. Thought I’d come stay the night out here. The park manager came up out of no where speeding like crazy then gets belligerent and aggressive with me cause I didn’t know the fire wood costed, no signage stating that, even after I gave him the money he continued to be rude and hateful towards our group.
This is a relaxed family friendly place. Whether youre camping or just spending a day at the creek, this is the place to be.
Great place!
We absolutely love this place. We always have a great time everytime. This is always our first vacation of the year and always seem to go back a few more times before the year is up
I had an absolutely great weekend & experience.Met AWESOME people, and the folks that run it were courteous & professional!Camping, fishing, swimming & grilling...cant wait to go back😎😎😎
Love this place because its a short drive from town but being there feels like youre out in the boondocks. Shoal creek runs through it so if you like to fish youll be a happy camper. They have nice restroom facilities on site and the grounds in general are well kept. The Undercliff restaurant is just down the road and a convenience store is less than a mile away. Definitely a great place to relax, swim, and just maybe land that lunker bass.
Thank God for honest reviews! I will NOT be staying here. Ever!!! Keep posting honest reviews folks! It truly is helpful!
Nice, chill little spot just off of Old 71. Highly affordable. Primitive and RV camping available. Smooth, easy floating. Lots of geese. Only drawback is the noise of the nearby overpass.
The noise from the highway kept me up most of the night. The bathrooms were disgusting and the sink was stopped up all day and there were no paper towels.
Family was camping for weekend, and I joined them for a day. Cost was $5. They were friendly, knew where my kids were instantlyand gave good directions. They are also dog friendly! Thats important to us.
Will never go here again. The guy who was running the place was drunk and belligerent - very aggressive and continued to be loud and cussed constantly. Very confrontational to say the least. Not kid friendly in my opinion.
We always have a great time! Everyone is so nice and friendly. We meet new people and make new friends everytime we go. One of the few places left the whole family can enjoy.
My father and i went to look at the camp ground to see if it was worth spending our money there when we arrived at the camp ground we waited in our truck and read the sign for about 4 minutes and discussed their prices. no were in that time did we see or hear a single employee of the Establishment. after reading the sign we then slowly drove down a rocky road to the end and got out of our vehicle to look around. about 2 minutes after getting out a green jeep with a trailer pulled up and a very angry man got out of the jeep. the man started the conversation with who the f#%k are you. He was screaming at us that we had blown past the stop sign at the start of the camp ground I then explained that we had not and that we sat waiting on someone to talk then my dad though that it would be ok to go check and then leave and i then pulled out the money to pay the 10 dollar fee for our entry. the man shook his head and then stepped forward looked me in the eyes and told me that if I didn’t calm down he there would be i then stepped up to him and told him that he needed to calm down. the only saving grace of this place was that the camp ground is well kept. i wouldnt suggest bringing your kids here.

Not a better place to be! Super good people!!🤗
We are driving cross country with our 3 sons ages 6,7&9. In all fairness we have not done any water activities our only purpose seeing we pulled in at 11pm was to catch some much needed zzzzzs. No where even in the reviews did anyone mention there is a highway and a very active train that runs every 45 minutes with whistles blazing. The womens bathroom was not well kept with a jammed toilet in the first stall and water that smells like eggs. It may be a great place for water activities but if your looking to sleep buyer beware!!!
Very lovely place!! Scott is so friendly and helpful! Im here alone with my 5 yr old daughter and I feel very safe! Weve caught 6 fish SO FAR lol
The lady running the conveniance store was very nice having 2 young boys excited and loud over games i was playing with them and as a cashier she was profesional and helped grandma and aunt find everything we needed. We were very pleased with her. We could see she was in charge over the entire convention store herself. Good job
Favorite place to camp within an hour of Joplin area. Nice property.
Loved it
Great place to spend the day by the water! Laid back atmosphere. We love this place!
Pros:-The guy on the flyer is nice--he didnt have a problem running us back to our car and hauled a kayak for us for free. (Would definitely recommend him individually)-No charge for dogs.-A few more rapid areas than other places I have been to.Cons:-The lady at the gate was rude, mainly due to miscommunication, but rude nonetheless.-Price for a 3-4 mile (as described by the establishment) float here is the same as the price for an 8 mile float elsewhere.-Water is not nearly as clean or clear as in Pineville.-Few rocky beaches to stop at, no rope swing or anything to speak of.Overall, it was a nice change of scenery from Elk River but my friends and I would not go back. We would have gone somewhere else had we arrived earlier in the day due to the length of the trip alone. If you are there to swim and float, you are in the wrong place.
Very good experience. Nice staff to take you to the drop off. River is clean and nice people overall.
Went for the afternoon. Nice place for a day spent in the water.
Great time, clean and friendly. Easy float.
What a great place for the whole family. Well definitely come back.
Campground was great fishing was fun just litter fish the man running the place was nice but the woman at the gate was not overall it was to much money 10 dollars per person per day Im not going back
Coll and refreshingly awsom staff
Great location, well run. Fun place to party in a family friendly environment.
Great place to camp right beside the river. Clean bathrooms.
Had a good time. Nice people & camp ground.
Its close to home the water seems to always be up in that area and the people that run it or real good people
Terrible. Every hour the freighttrains! Raccoons and noise of the Highway
Great times and alot of fun. Mobile Whislers
Love the place. Beautiful here and friendly staff 😁
The owner is great, place is kept clean. Was just an overall wonderful experience
Really nice park to have a reunion at.
Ok water was very shallow
This is by far the worst place I have ever been to ..the people were rude the service was terrible we got there to wait for over 30 minutes no one was where they were supposed to beand then more people showed up and they tried calling the numbers listed 3 of them were non working numbersWhen we finally got ahold of the owner he came down only to tell us that they dont run canoes on Tuesday..thats not what the website said. This place clearly has no idea how to run a business if they can treat people that way and easily turn away money without blinking. We talked to some other people and they said they had the same experienceit seems like these people are just lazy and dont want to work and well try to think up any reason for why they arent running canoes.Save your money and your time and go some place else.
Very nice campground. Very good service
