I was traveling to Springfield, MO on a Friday afternoon and had just past Joplin when my battery light came on. After looking up that it could be an issue with my alternator and I may not have been able to make it to my destination, I called Green Flag Automotive in Joplin. Brad was very generous and said come on in and we will take care of you. When I arrived, David checked me in and was kind as well. Since time was an issue, they had already ordered a battery and alternator for my vehicle from my phone conversation to speed up the process. However, after running some tests, they acknowledged that there were some issues with the alternator but they believed I would be able to get to my destination without any issues. They were right. I was able to get to my destination in time and they did not even charge me for the diagnostic testing which is not common practice anymore. While I was waiting, I had other customers tell me that they will not steer you wrong. I am not normally one to post reviews or complaints but I was really impressed with the service I received from Brad and David from Green Flag Automotive, that I felt it worth my time to share with others.
I only have positive things to say, from the beginning to picking up my car! The work was top notch and they came in $1800 under the other bids!
From Brad the owner to Mike the mechanic all around great experience. Knowledgeable and the most important part TRUSTWORTHY. I know I’m not getting overcharged when my vehicle is in their shop. Busy but still managed to fit me in in a timely manner. Definitely a great place.
Had to go back THREE times for them to “fix” a coolant leak in my car- spent over $1000 here and they never could fix it. One of the Techs was really nice but overall if you value your money, don’t use this business. My mom recently used them (me not knowing at first) and they couldn’t figure out the problem... when she went to pick her car up they tried charging her for more than the diagnosis and then the owner came out and made a huge scene. Very unprofessional and trying to take advantage of my mom... Honestly the way he acted towards her makes me irate and is NO WAY to speak to a women, or ANY customer.
Took my car there to have the a/c worked on. Now part of the fender liner is missing that was there Sunday when I washed the car. They say they didnt remove it but mysteriously the only dirt in the engine bay is from road patch I drove through on the way back. No dust or dirt from the dirt road detour I took on the way there to avoid the above road work. So I guess it jumped off on the last 15 miles to the shop or first 15 after leaving and I didnt hear it.
I found them to be honest and dependable, very courteous to this elderly female who usually comes in alone. I can count on them
Please do not trust these people. After a day having my car they could not diagnose the slow battery drain. I told them I would come pick it up. The Tech had said $40 for labor because of no diagnosis. I get there and the Clerk told me $89 because they all of a sudden determined it was the alternator and I was choosing to pick it up. That was when I knew something was not right. I told her I would not be back and I was very unhappy. I set down my card. She continued to argue with me and I kept saying just charge it so I could leave and we won’t give you our business any more. The owner came out when he heard google review, he was listening around the corner, he picked up my card, handed it to me and shouted “get out”. I told him he’s very unprofessional and I would be leaving a Google review. I came back realizing that they still had my key. He then picked it up and put it behind his back and would not give it to me until I stood there and listened to him basically tell me off first. I threatened to call the police because he wouldn’t give it back. That didn’t work so I finally went to the door and called for my Mom, who was waiting for me, to come in. When I did that He came running at me with the key. As I was walking through the parking lot he was yelling ”I bet you do this everywhere you go” and other very unprofessional things. I completely Ignored him. I just wanted to leave. My mother heard all the things that he was saying to me and the way he was acting. She was a witness to all of that. Apparently he thought I was there by myself. I can’t even believe an owner would act like this. It was comparable to dealing with an upset child. I cannot say anything nice about the Woman Clerk either. Very rude! So here is my Google review. This is the only negative google review I think I’ve ever left. I feel like people should be aware though.UPDATE:I took my car to Gideons Tire and Auto. The owner is a Christian man and very honest. Took just a few hours to diagnose a worn and chipped Serpentine belt. My alternator was in working order. I would have been charged $320 to replace an already good alternator if I would have trusted Green Flag Automotive. My gut instinct was correct. The OWNER was the source of my bad experience. Like I said he was rude and dishonest with me. I’d suggest taking your business to Gideons. It only cost me $20 more to fix my car than what this place tried to charge just for a bogus diagnosis.
Did a great job on installing new battery terminals as well as hooking me up with a decent used tire, both jobs done quickly and at a reasonable price.
I tell you this is the best place to go for inspections you name it they bring their exhaust work to me we have a great relationship great place to get your car worked on!
Absolutely the best place I have ever taken my vehicle to! my AC was not working and I had taken it to 2 other shops and they couldnt figure it out. Took these guys just a couple of hours and now I am not sweating my butt off anymore! I will most definitely be back with every vehicle I ever own!
It took them 3 weeks to replace my motor which was annoying bec lack of communication but w that being said its completely understandable on why they did the job tho as far as I can tell of course I am no expert or mechanic on cars I just get all the basic maintenance done when it needs and take care of it when it needs it but the overall job was done and done correctly so cant complain I cant say anything about price bec it was under warranty but compared to come mechanics places this building is nice so no complaint there overall depend on if I knew pricing I may reccommend based of reliability and job done correctly this is what this review is based on so 5 out of 5 for me
Knowledge mechanics. Friendly service. Moderate prices.
Supposed to work on my car under warranty, kept my car for months while they looked for used parts. Parts that were purchased or not placed appropriately. Example is of the computer being zip tied to the top of the motor. Pretty questionable in my opinion.
Took my 2002 jeep Cherokee and they charged me 270 to fix wire bc it wouldnt start. Kept it called me when they got it running then I went to pick it up it wouldnt start. So they kept it for 3 or 4 more days for it to start called me came out to pick it up and it wouldnt start again until the mechanic pushed around the wires till it finally started and said sorry we dont know whats wrong with it maybe your computer is bad. Never fixed the problem and didnt offer to refund me money I spent. My buddy had his brakes done and it was over 400.00 for brake pads. And that was on a 2013 ford truck. Stay away from these incompetent people. They will overcharge you n take you to the cleaners.
Very nice and does good work
Great, reliable, honest, hard working guys!
