Made Reservations the night before for a king room. Only to learn on the day of checking in. I was shuffled to 2 queen beds. For most people not a problem but for 6ft 7in guy who dont fit, its a big deal.
Like most of it. Grandchildren enjoyed the pool. Our heater/ air conditioner never shut off. There are a times when it was extremely cold then very warm. I.like the location a lot of restaurants close by. No microwave in each room.
Nice place to stay with plenty of restaurants choices close by. And they have a Starbucks inside
Positive: I love the decor and the ease of access to the location. The bed is extremely comfortable and the bathroom design is very spacious and makes using it very easy. Negative: I do not like pillows.
We just stayed here after leaving a resort in South Carolina, the resort was 500/day and this place was way better than the resort! Very friendly staff, quick with requests, and breakfast was delicious. The only thing I didn’t like was the man who was working the bistro the second day we were here. We were trying to check out but also wanted that breakfast again (breakfast is only until 930) so I called down to the front desk to place an order (people had called in orders the day before to pickup) and the dude told me “I busy making someone’s order right now, it only takes me 3 minutes to make anything on the list so you just need to come down and order like everyone else”. I was applauded by his rude tone, we decided to eat breakfast somewhere else.
Positive: Very clean and well appointed rooms Negative: Nothing I disliked. Everything was great.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and offered good suggestions for places to eat. My only complaints would be the lack of a continental breakfast, and the small gym with limited equipment.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is clean and well taken care of. My only gripe is the WiFi is terrible. I’ve stayed here twice in the past couple months, and both times the internet has hardly worked. I couldn’t even work on my laptop due to the weak signal. While here on business it’s important that there’s working WiFi.
Very clean rooms and common areas. Employees are nice and responsive. Would recommend for a good place to stay at while in Tennessee.
Was a comfortable stay, staff was friendly and very helpful. This will probably be our come to Marriott in Johnson City.
Nice room, but the guest were not following basic COVID safety protocols by simply putting on a mask in common/public areas. The employees did wear theirs. Guest were not wearing them in the elevator or when coming in and out while passing me. Nor in the hallways. No employees enforced the policy.
Great stay, beautiful room, wonderful experience
Comfortable clean nice staff breakfast great
Im staying long term for work. When Im traveling I make it a habit of getting a room with a kitchenette for convenience. This courtyard doesnt have one and many of my co workers moved to another hotel. I stayed for two reasons: Misty and Angie. These ladies are the nicest, most polite hotel employees I have ever met. They take time to greet me when they see me. Misty always has a cheery Welcome home!when I walk in after working crazy hours. Dont get me wrong, Eric and Shayna and Madison are all great, but Ive had more opportunity to get to know Angie and Misty. The entire staff are constantly doing whatever they can to make my stay great;v and they have. Its not the facilities: its the people.
Front desk staff very nice!!! Still limited dining but some in parking lot!!! Clean!!!
Clean rooms, friendly staff. I informed them of one of beds mattresses being warped and that the door to the room was difficult to open and wasnt properly aligned with the door jam. Looked like some minor damage to the frame. Im sure theyll resolve the issues.
Rooms were nice, pool was clean.
Positive: Cleanliness and friendliness of staff. Has everything you need in a hotel stay. Negative: Slow draining tub and A/C was a little loud.
Shayna was great and very helpful.
This Courtyard is well maintained. I had a King JR. Suite and it was huge. 2 TVs with a separate work area and huge sitting area in addition to the sleep area. The lobby is huge with many places to meet. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. It snowed overnight when I was there and the next morning all the cars in the parking lot had their windshields front and back scraped. This was very helpful as my rental didnt have a scraper. The staff who thought of this deserves a promotion. Way to wow your guests by anticipating their needs and wowing them. Ill definitely be back next time Im in the area.
We stayed next door for years. Rude service one night changed that. We decided to take our business to another hotel. So we came here. We met a man named John and he was friendly, professional and made us laugh after just being talked down to next door. We stayed that night and 7 nights since. We have chosen this as our place to stay from now on based on that first experience with John. Your staff is all great. We have only had good experiences dealing with them. The rooms are really nice and clean. The amenities are very adequate. The location is convenient. We drive up from Knoxville once or twice a month so that I can attend appointments at the VA. I am a disabled veteran. Thank you for being a great place to stay.
Positive: No services provided.
We recently found ourselves in the position of having to seek lodging in the middle of the COVID pandemic due to a family members hospitalization. We were treated with compassion, kindness and understanding. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Any and all needs were met with a quick phone call. I was able to continue working during my stay. This property would be well suited for business or leisure. Should the need arise in the future, this will be choice!
The Johnson City Marriott was a wonderful surprise! We were headed to Chattanooga for a family reunion and needed to stop. We found the Johnson City Marriott on the way and loved the location, which had pretty gardens out front and greenery and mountains behind it. We walked in and registered with Misty who immediately thanked my husband for his service for our government. We immediately saw a tall container of water full of fresh fruit which was wonderful as we had been in the car all day! We went up to the room which was spotless and also had a mountain view. We enjoyed the swimming pool with towels and a changing room as well. The Internet TV Netflix worked beautifully. The servers could not have been nicer at breakfast. We liked Johnson City Marriott so much that after our reunion in Chattanooga we made it a point to come back to that very same Johnson City Marriott, where once again everyone ( this time Haley was the desk person!) was as nice as could be and the room was just as pleasing. We also purchased a small bottle of wine to enjoy in the room from the well-stocked marketplace! My husband and I would go back in a minute! Thank you Marriott for providing military and government rates— I cannot think of a nicer thank you for the men and women who have spent their careers serving our government!
Positive: Room, staff and hotel was great! Negative: None
Positive: Friendly and cleanest Negative: Spider in bathroom shower
Positive: Extremely clean. Negative: not really.
I have stayed at this property several times and have experienced many good things but like anything else not without its problems. It is conveniently located, parking is ample and several good restaurants and gyms within walking distance. The rooms are always clean, comfortable, and all amenities have been functional. The curtains are excellent at keeping the light out which is very important especially when your working night and I assure you this is not the standard at every hotel. The staff is always cordial although it’s common for them to not recognize my elite status. The manager over housekeeping is amazing and she has always exceeding my expectations. The food service can lack but overall is above average. I will definitely stay again and would recommend without hesitation.

Positive: Great location
Elevator seemed fast - major bonus compared to most hotels. Overall pleasant.
This hotel was everything I expected and more. The staff were friendly, attentive, and hard working. The facilities were beautiful. The bar/restaurant had excellent food. I will certainly stay here my next time in Johnson City.
Room cleaning, Staff suoer friendly. A/C LOUD. When it turned on itvwas like a big thumb and started awake. Curtain was ripped. Guest upstairs walked around alot and loudly. Was not a restful night. Usually love courtyard something was a miss here.
Ive stayed at this hotel twice now. The staff is friendly and the hotel and grounds are tidy. Its great for short terms stays. There is a bar that I did not go to and there is Starbucks coffee offered there in the morning. I did not try the Starbucks as the offerings are limited and I did not eat from the bar as there was no real kitchen so I felt everything was probably frozen and the choices limited. I could be wrong there. Any way the rooms are nice for short stays but I am a long term guest (3-4) weeks and would like to see additional amenities geared toward the long term guest. Nice place though and will definitely stay again when in the area.

We found a bunch of used latex gloves stuffed in the couch, nearly hidden.I had to brush off dirt from my bed, and it just wasnt a nice experience.Go ahead and dont risk your experience here, find somewhere much better, if you can.
Stayed in King Suite on first floor . Comfortable pillows, great toiletries. Took a bath and noticed an ant in the tub figured maybe it was just on me and I didn’t know. However, woke up the next morning to ants all over the wall and counter of the sink and they were all over our tooth brushes, hair brush, headbands, etc . Had to leave all of that behind and buy new stuff when we left so that we didn’t risk taking them back home with us. Reported to front desk and all they said was that they would have someone come spray. It was pretty disgusting co spidering the amount of ants.
Positive: Location Negative: Night auditor, front desk
Courtyard Johnson City Does an excellent job with customer service. From the time you walk in they are greeting you and making sure you have everything you need. The room and overall hotel is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. I stay here every chance I get when I’m in town.
We stayed in a king suite room. When we checked in I had asked to make sure blankets/sheets were provided for the pull out bed. When we arrived back to the room at midnight there was no bedding for the pullout and and when we opened the bed it had pee stains all over it. I tried to call the front desk but the phone didn’t work. I called the front desk using my phone and asked for the bedding he was rude and said it is in the dresser I told him we already looked and there was no bedding and complained about the pee stains and the phone not working. The bedding was brought up in about 15 minutes but nothing to address the dirty bed and the phone or I am sorry. I did bring up the problem when I checked out and received a “Oh No” do you want your receipt emailed or printed. There was also a light out over the shower the room did not have black out curtains they were all sheer so no privacy.
The area is nice with options for food. The exterior of the building is clean and fresh. The lobby is modern and up to date. The front desk is very friendly and the bistro staff as well. The house keepers are very pleasant and enjoyed helping to answer our questions. The rooms are up to date and clean.
Our family had a three day stay at The Marriott during the National Storytelling Festival in October 2018 which was held close by in Jonesborough TN. We had hoped to have local Jonesborough TN accommodations but found out about the festival too late to arrange this. This location proved to be an easy drive to the Festival Parking. The Marriott provided great accommodations for a family of 3 with a King size suite for which the additional living area w couch and chair allowed us to talk and unwind. A Festival associated sponsor arranged daily complimentary breakfast which was in a separate room for Storytelling Festival Guests. This was an unexpected perk and provided for our family, first time Festival goers, a chance to learn the ropes from old timers. The Marriott was clean, had excellent facilities and outdoor area, pool, dining and beverage choice that make it workable for a variety of needs. We already have our tickets for the Storytelling Festival next year and plan to stay at the Marriott again.
This hotel was a pleasure to stay in. The price was right for a short overnight mother / daughter wedding trip. It far exceeded my expectations. The front desk was so helpful when i called about an early check in. This way we were able to rest for awhile before getting dressed for our outing. We were greeted by the front desk at our arrival. This hotel was close to everything. I will stay here again next visit.
This Courtyard was close to fabulous shopping and many restaurants within walking distance of the property. Location was right off interstate and less than 8 minute drive to ETSU campus. We felt very safe in this location and were impressed by the decor and cleanliness of every aspect of this Hotel. All employees were very friendly and helpful that we came in contact with. Will definitely be back for future stays at this location!

It was clean and staff was fine. It was just a hotel with nothing special. Little pricey w/o breakfast. Another hotel next door
I agree with everyone this place is comfortable, clean and classy. I have a sour taste as I checked in and ask for the best price. The receptionist said she couldnt give me a better price than 211.00 and I accepted it. Fool me once. I check in and while surfing the net I decided to offer a review, a good one, and I see every discount service on the planet offers this place for 119. A night
My room was a very modern room and very comfortable. And if you like BBQ, there is a great BBQ restaurant across the parking lot.
Anyone who prefers staying at a Marriott hotel does so for the obvious reasons. We are preferred members and love Marriott for the overall excellence of The amenities, friendly staff and logistical convenience of the many properties. Johnson city courtyard when above and beyond regarding 2 separate incidences during our 1 night stay. We were I. Been of a pencil sharpener and the clerk literally scoured The building to not only find us a pencil sharpener, but to hunt down new batteries when it was discovered that the batteries were dead in the sharpener that she found. I know, silly, however, it meant a great deal to us. After we checked out I discovered that I had left my personal pillow behind, they tracked it down with housekeeping and kept it in safe keeping until we were able to pick it up on our way home. Loved this place, it was chic and cozy with a great view of the surrounding mountains. HIGHLY recommend
Want to return :) surprised at how elegant and inviting the decor at this hotel was. Truly enjoyed our stay that was quiet, calm and restful.
The people at the desk were very friendly and accommodating. The lobby area was clean and well kept. The hotel was located within walking distance of a number of restaurants, which was nice. The property is showing a bit of age, but nothing dramatic. My tub faucet dripped, which is not a big deal to me, but if its common, they need to fix it just to save money. The hotel was a nice place to stay.
Overall it was a very nice stay. Again, the people over my head was very noisy. Staff was very professional, courteous, nice... House keeper Ms. Jennifer, was my hero... so kind!
Beautiful hotel with excellent décor. The mattress on the bed was superb. . . did not want to get out of bed. But the best thing was the hotel staff who made everything easy for us. Great place!
Very clean but very noisy, walls and floors must be paper thin.
Great leadership here and it shows in the staff! Guests are treated very well. Ive used a banquet room to host a work event and was not disappointed. Any out of town visitors I expect I always recommend they stay at this location.
This is a great place to stay, always clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. My wife and I stay here whenever we are around Johnson City.
Very comfortable and clean rooms... friendly staff!
The style is modern and aesthetically pleasing. The staff is courteous and quick. The beds are heaven. However, the floors are thin. It sounded like people were stomping on top of my room all week. But the floors also creak down the hallway, so its not limited to one room. Thankfully I sleep like a rock. Also, breakfast isnt free or cheap. Though, it is quality food. Theres a good bar in the lobby. And there are plenty of mid-tier restaurants in the business center across the street including Jasons Deli, Pie Five, Maple Street Biscuit Company, and a few others. Overall, it was a lovely stay. But the floors were too loud to ignore.
We were in town for a surprise 80th birthday party for my dad in June 2016. With other functions going on around the area, the Courtyard was able to accommodate the number of adults and children we had with our group. The large, two-room studio had room for all of us with a king bed, sleeper sofa and a rollaway bed. The shower was so spacious, and the room was very clean. We even enjoyed the pool with our short stay. I would recommend this particular Courtyard because the staff were so nice and followed up on any requests.

Very clean, nice amenities, a great place for business travel.
Nice hotel
Bar was closed on Sat. Nite. My room online said 2 double beds, only one.. Trouble with Wi-Fi.
The Team exceed expectations as all were found to be welcoming and caring. The Hospitality they offered set the standards for the utmost is the Guest Experience.
Read reviews of this hotel before booking and was not disappointed. The property is well maintained and clean. The staff was courteous and helpful. We stayed on the top floor and were not bothered by noise of any kind. The room was not cramped and was comfortable. Internet was fast and reliable. Will stay at this location again.
A friend of mine and I love to take road trips. Sometimes, we dont really know where we are staying. We are sure of one thing, we will only stay at a Marriott property! We stopped in Johnson City, TN for the night and met Haley at the front desk. She was friendly and accommodating! I hope Marriott gives her some extra credit and she stays in the hospitality business - we need more like her!
Best hotel we stayed at in Tri-State area. Clean, modern, good fitness facility and friendly staff. Bartender very personable even though we weren’t ordering adult beverages. She allowed us to use main area for sons 11th birthday party with family.
This particular hotel rooms walls were paper thin. I could clearly hear the neighbors and am sure they could feel the same. I had a really hard time to sleep for the 2 days that I was there and am very disappointed with the stay. The noise levels were higher than other Marriott hotels I have visited in the past. I am a big fan of Marriott and would continue to stay with them, but may look for an alternate accommodation when in Gray TN.
All staff was exceptionally friendly, even toward our 4 children. Loved the courtyard and fire place. Very comfortable and welcoming common areas, courtyard, lounge and restaurant. Nice rooms, everything was clean. Check in/out was very fast.
This place could have been a dump and the staff would still have earned it a 10 in my eyes! Thanfully, that wasnt the case! Every aspect of the hotel was perfect! We blocked rooms for a wedding and our stay was flawless! The manager was even willing to extend the initial block dates rate to family arriving early/staying late. The housekeeping staff made sure to always greet us and let us know they were there to serve in anyway needed. The guy at the Bistro (Marty) was the best! He stayed late to make sure our food and drink needs were taken care of and he had a wonderful disposition! One of the front desk ladies knew my sister was trying to come up with some make-shift wrap for a gift and offered to help. She took the gift into the back and within a few minutes, returned with it in a gift bag complete with tissue! No charge! The entrance was a bit of a mess due to neighboring construction (that started early) but that isnt the fault of the hotel and wont be a lasting issue. The only things we would have enjoyed are and indoor pool, breakfast bar and microwave in the room...all things that would have been nice but it certainly wont keep us from staying there again!Customer service is A+ and other places should look to this Courtyard for lessons on how it is done right!!
We were in town for a wedding and decided to book with courtyard. The bed was so comfortable, I slept like a baby. The room was exceptional, cleanest room Ive ever been in and the pool was beautiful and very clean. Lobby was very comfortable and the lounge was inviting. Thank you for a great weekend.
I have been using this Marriott for about 7-8 months twice a month. Eric is awesome with customer service. This place is close to the VA hospital and easy to get to. Lots of food places are within walking distance of the hotel.
From walking in the door to checking out this was a great experience. Friendly professional staff and very clean rooms and lobby. Everything we wanted or needed was provided. Definitely will be back!
Excellent customer service. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable. Steve and Misty were very helpful with last minute reservations and details.
A minor problem with room assignment and the bathroom shower. Easy to fix if they want to resolve it. I think the price I paid was a bit high for this area. I learned this is a collage town with many students so I guess this is the reason for the high cost of hotel rooms. Also I did not search for a best buy for my buck. I did get what I paid for with a great bed, nice big room and a room refrigerator. dish TV, Good FREE WIFI, amenities galore. I would recommend this hotel for discerning guests. Easy access to thourofare.W are from Tennessee not NE
I stayed at this Marriott for the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough. There was a shuttle to the festival but since it was an easy drive, I took my car and drove about 12 minutes into Jonesborough. Very convenient! The hotel was comfortable and very updated. Best of all -- the staff was terrific!
Very clean. Has a great courtyard with a fire pit and outside swimming area. Resturaunts within walking distance and shops. Staff is friendly.
Very quiet and peaceful. Staff very accommodating and provided excellent service and someone available 24 hours. Accommodated out of town guest on a 5 hour time zone difference and cleaned my room a little later than normal.
Spacious room, welcoming staff. Extra towels requested but not provided. Mildew on caulking of tub. Black mold and spattered lotion ? on ceiling of bathroom. Air conditioner/heating unit had dirty filter.Expected better for the price.
Very nice clean well kept place today. The front desk staff were fantastic.
My family and I recently stayed here because my daughter was playing in a softball tournament near by. We checked in late at night and when we finally got to the room. We noticed it was fairly warm so we turned the air down got ready for bed we all woke up during the night sweating due to the ac not working. Early the next morning I called to inform them of the ac issue and was put on hold for 30 minutes. We were given another room when we got to that room the toilet did not work we made them aware and then left for the day. Came back that evening to a toilet that would barley flush and to a very annoying sound. I question the front desk about the sound and they made me aware that we were right beside the compressor. At this point I was so upset I was speechless. We payed good money for the rooms and it was far from a pleasant stay. We never even got an apology. I feel customer service is key and the staff that day had poor customer service. The bed was comfy, room was clean and hotel was nicely decorated just poor customer service.
We have stayed at this location on several occasions. Very clean and well kept. Quite location.
The absolute Nicest hotel staff EVER! They were extremely friendly and helpful. Either that or I just looked like an extremely harried mother of three cchildre who needed extra help. The rooms were very nice, no issues! My only complaint, which is not really a complaint, for me is.... You can hear people walking. So if youre one of those people who get disturbed by hearing your neighbors upstairs walking around, then request a top floor. This honestly does not bother me. Youre in a hotel, youre going to hear other people. Also, the breakfast at the cafe is very good, but not cheap. A family of five could spend a fortune, but have happy taste buds.
The housekeeping staff used a towel to wipe up vomit from the sink and hung that same towel up for me to use. That was disgusting. I took pictures and have filed a complaint with the corporate offices. Tod at the Bar was great! Front desk was very kind and professional, but housekeeping should be a shame of themselves. My first night there, I fell asleep with makeup on my face and after making the bed, they put that same pillow case back on the bed. It was covered in makeup. I even left them kind notes and tips to avoid this type of experience, but it happened anyway. Absolutely disgusting.
We have chosen to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott everytime we have came to Johnson City for College orientation. It has been a great choice. Everything is so up to date. All of the staff are wonderful!!
This is my first time staying at a Courtyard. It has been a really great experience. The rooms are super clean. They have a comfortable couch that can be turned into another bed; the bathrooms are nice and clean. The hotel also includes a bistro, fitness room, and swimming pool.
The hotel is very clean very modern-looking pristine. The pool was really big children will love it. There is a whole business Center just a great hotel. Im glad and pleased its in Johnson City Tennessee.
Beautiful rooms
Beds are very soft. Very clean and well laid out rooms. Staff at front desk and Bistro very polite all times of the day. Bath tub is small is my only issue.
Everyone from the check in agent to the bartender has been very friendly and welcoming. Our room is large and comfortable, and has everything we would need. Highly recommend staying here!
This Courtyard offered typically good service. Location was great. Beds as usual are very good. Internet speed was acceptable. The only problem was the build quality of the hotel. The floors did not seem to be reinforced. The floor in our second level room made noise. Being on the second level we could hear all footsteps (rather loudly) from the room above us. If staying at this hotel, make sure you choose a third floor room or you might have trouble sleeping.
This place was in a great location, Friendly staff, clean, safe and convenient to the local shopping areas, popular restaurants, ETSU campus and interstate.
This is a great hotel with a wonderful staff. Decor was very modern and hotel seemed like it was just renovated. Although the staff told me they were due for a make over. I was shocked.
The room was very clean and sizable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The lobby was clean and very well kept. This was a great place to stay.
Our recent trip to Johnson City was made all the more enjoyable because of our stay at the Courtyard Marriott. The staff went above and beyond to welcome us and make us feel at home in a city we had never been to. The room we were in was ideal for our needs! We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Johnson City!
Great experience!!! When I checked in they were ready for me with a smile. They made a hot cocoa for my boyfriend for free. Housekeeping took care of my needs immediately. Price was the best in the area. I am very picky and I was surprised for the price how AMAZING my stay was.
Wonderful place to stay! Staff members were helpful and hotel was very clean!
The Johnson City Marriot is very convenient to shopping, restaurants, and ETSU. We used to live in Johnson City and prefer the location over other hotels. Also, the rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. It snowed while we were in town, and the parking lot of the hotel and the adjacent shopping center had been cleared, so did not have any issues when we left. We would definitely stay there again!
