Definitely do not look at going here if you actually have a pet emergency or something that require urgency. Terrible communication and customer service. I have spoken to 3 different people this week trying to get an urgent care appointment for my dog and have been told completely different pieces of information regarding scheduling and availability; ultimately ending with me repeating myself too many times, a conversation with a rude receptionist who seemed very patronizing, and still a sick dog. I know it is hard to accommodate to everyone and have worked in customer service for a long time, but this business is not responsive nor does it seem like they actually care about emergencies or how they speak to potential clients.
MY Little poodle on labor day was dying we rush her to Robinson Vet on people street...CANNOT SAY ENOUGHT ABOUT THE KINDNESS WE WERE SHOWN AFTER ZOEY PASSED THEY TOLD ME ..BUT THE MOST COMFORT I RECEIVED WAS THEY ALLOW ME TO HOLD HER IN MY ARMS FOR 30 MINUNTES THEN TOOK HER AND MYSELF AND MY GRANDSON TO WAIT FOR SON AND DAUGHTER TO ARRIVE THEY LAID HER ON A TABLE AND GAVE ME AN OFFICE CHAIR TO BE WITH HER FOR ANOTHER HALF HOUR UNTIL OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS ARRIVED CAN NOT SAY HOW MUCH THIS HELPED ME, IT GAVE ME COMFORT TO BE WITH HER AND TOUCH HER AND TELL HER GOOD BYE...THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR PATIENCE AND OUT OF THE WAY SERVICE WE RECEIVED ELAINE
I posted a one star review earlier, and was very upset, because I didnt feel like they cared about me or my pet. My cats surgery was pushed back 10 days when I was already told it would be within the week, but I was given a call back, dying they found a doctor to do the surgery on the agreed upon date. I am very happy that they worked with me after hearing my displeasure and were able to find someone to help us. Thank you to Robinson, they are a great and caring vet.
Not sure why there are so many negative reviews, Ive been there probably a hundred times in the past 10 years, they are my regular vet and I absolutely love them. They have alot of great doctors. They saved my cats life, he was blocked and couldnt pee, on the verge of death and he made a full recovery. And he had his sex change surgery there. He pees just fine now!
Money hungry low down dirty rotten fowl people.. care more about getting money then helping animals its a shame that a good vet cant be trusted to care for an animal on a death bed before they get funds... absolutely worst place to take your animals....
Hateful and unsympathetic. Do not recommend. Asked a simple question and a hateful respond . My regular vet is awesome but most of these emergency vets in this area are horrible including this one. My issue was my other dog In same lot as this one I had an apt for died yesterday. Autopsy reviled toxins in its body which came from food. The dog I have apt for now has same symptoms and normally its too late to save them at this point. My wife simply called and asked if It was too late to save him at this point. So unsympathetic and refused to ask the vet. Or even to let us speak to vet and explain things. Horrible attitude horrible service.
I had a dog that was not breathing and was on my way to the Emergency clinic. I called to tell them what was going on and was told there was no Vet in at moment and would not be back until 2. I was also told that there was an Emergency that was coming in at 2 ( this was 12:30 when I called) . If you can wait until 2 for an emergency I really dont see much as far as emergency. They tag it that way for the up charge in fees. I asked the young lady if they didnt consider a dog NOT breathing an emergency. DO NOT RECOMMEND this place AT ALL!!!!
Took my dog to the vet wednesday, he had completely broken his toe nail off. Told us to come back 24-48 hours later to get bandages off. We called today and they said to just “Take the bandages off yourselves, but if he starts bleeding you’ll have to wait until 6 pm because we are full.” Who the hell says that.
Dr Hickle was fantastic with my ball python, Lily. She has a slight respiratory infection but he looked her over, showed me how to give her injections and sent us home with medication. Shes already doing so much better. Thank you guys so much!
Had to go in on Sunday for an allergic reaction from my English Bulldog, and they were great! The vet, Holly Kennedy was awesome! She answered all my questions, and was just overall good at her position. Thanks again, and keep up the good work!
I wouldn’t even give this place one star, if you don’t have money up front and you have a dying animal in your hands they will turn you away. Everybody here is not worth ANYTHING, they are rude, unprofessional, and literally only care about your money, not even your pet. Would not recommend AT ALL and this place should be shut down.
This place is very clean and nice staff... I go here i live in unicoi... They do good to help u
Robinson Animal hospital on People’s St is AMAZING!!! I’ve been a client for many, many years. I have multiple dogs and cats and also do rescue work. They have literally seen a few HUNDRED pets for me and they are wonderful. The front desk staff is superb. They are polite and extremely helpful. Pharmacy is great. The vet techs are second to none and so thorough, as well as kind and loving to the animals. I’ve had animals treated by every single vet that is employed here and highly recommend. The entire place gets a BIG 5-stars from me and my entire crew!
I take both my babies to have theyre grooms with Tonya. She is so good with both of them. They always look and smell great. Tonya always works them in and they love her. I never worry when taking Ringo and Oscar to their appointment with Tonya. Great experience with Tonya.
Brought in sick but responsive rabbit. Told to wait in car while he was being examined. Tech came out to charge the credit card. Rabbit was brought out a few minutes later unresponsive. Died before I could get out of the parking lot in my sons lap. Office staff is extremely unorganized, unresponsive, and I still dont know what was done to the rabbit that caused him to die a minute after they brought him out. On a side note…was told by staff that the charges should be adjusted. 3 weeks later no one in that office has any idea of what happened. If you’re looking for a vet please try Veterinary medical center on Princeton Rd. They are top notch!
My 5 star goes out the the grooming department. Tonya literally takes such good care of my German Shepherd as if it was her own pet. He shows zero nervousness when dropping him off because he knows how gentle and caring his groomer is. If you need a groomer and a vet in the same building, Robinsons on people st is truly great. Anything you need, Tonya can do!
I called yesterday needing help with my 8 week old puppy who had just had a seizure and had been crying and yelping for 45 minutes. JANET (who answered the phone) was the rudest person I have ever spoken with. She literally asked us what we wanted her to do about our dog. All I wanted to know was what the initial cost is to just bring her in and get her help. She refused to answer questions, told us that they didnt run a free clinic so yes the charge just to be seen would be costly. I will never bring any other animals to Robinsons because if any other employee there is like Janet then they seriously need to reconsider their employees. ( On a side note while calling around a couple of friends called there too and were treated the same way by the same person_
Robinson Animal hospital is a great animal clinic to take your animals. They are so helpful and amazing especially Rachel and Heather they are very helpful and nice! They are very attentive!
This used to be a nice vet office when Dr. Robinson was alive. Unfortunately the quality of service and compassion has dwindled since his passing. I have brought my pets here for years, but I am going to start going somewhere else from now on. My last several visits, the receptionists have been rude and unhelpful. Asking even the simplest question makes them treat you like you are bothering them.Today I brought my dog, who they have seen before, because he was vomiting up his food, having bloody diarrhea, and straining to use the bathroom. I fear he may have internal bleeding or a bowel obstruction of some kind. They refused to see him. It is early in the day, and I said I was willing to wait. Dont they have stand by appointments or emergency appointments? Apparently not anymore. I am here monthly with my other dog who has a chronic health condition. They refused to even attempt to squeeze him in and told me to go somewhere else, so I will be going somewhere else and I wont be coming back.
Rude and unacceptable unprofessionalism when I called to make an appointment for my pet. I will no longer be bringing my pet to this office and I encourage anyone who reads this to do the same. In a time where those who sit at the front desks are the gatekeepers to our pets, professionalism and respect seem like they would be kind of important. If I cant trust you to treat me well, then I sure as hell wont trust you to look after my pet when Im not around.
This place has gone way down hill since Dr Robinson passed away. They are causing disgrace to his name.
Reception is very friendly when I call and always willing to help. I had to rush my cat in on a emergency bases and they took great care of her. I love the precautions they are taking with Covid-19. Had downs this please is great!
They take you for money at any chance they can. I have a diabetic dog they want to do all kinds of tests on him tell me to bring him I ask if theres a charge for him to be boarded overnight they say no because the need a specific blood test. As soon as we get here theres all these extra charges that they have to do. Its not veterinary medicine its how can I build people out of money. Ill be finding a new vet immediately. Lies, and money!
I never write reviews, but after my experience with the staff at Robinson Animal Hospital on Peoples Street, I knew I had to say something. I will never go back to that location nor recommend them (I want to be clear that its the PEOPLES STREET location that I am referring to, because I have not had experience with their other locations).First off, we have a hamster. I am fully cognizant of the fact that its a $15 animal from PetsMart, not a dog or a cat, but its still our daughters pet, and the family enjoys her antics. Earlier this week, one of the hamsters eyes started swelling shut. I watched it for a day and it didnt get better, so I finally told our kids that we could take it to the animal hospital (after looking at their website and seeing that they took small critters like our hamster). We all loaded into the car and drove to Johnson City, arriving around 4:45 (still in their daytime hours) and were met by a woman outside who reluctantly let us in (it was my four kids - ages 8-13 - and me, all wearing masks). She listened impatiently while I tried to explain what was going on, and then she cut in and said, We dont have a doctor here who can help you right now. So I asked her if she had any suggestions for what I should do, and was met with, No, we dont hand out advice. Basically, the impression that was given was that you and your cheapo pet dont matter, nor do your four kids who are standing here, hoping you can help their pet. There was ZERO compassion there. When I got back to the car with the kids, I GOOGLED what kind of eye issues hamsters get, and told the kids wed go home and Id do what I could do. Later that night, two of my kids brought it up and one said, That lady was rude, wasnt she? while the other added, I was hoping we would get someone nice who could help us.Yesterday the hamster stopped eating, which is never a good sign, and I told the kids that this may be the end of the road for our little furry friend. They were quite sad about that, so I called back to the Peoples Street location (after hours, apparently) and talked to someone who was slightly nicer, but again told me their doctor who works on small critters wasnt there last night, and he wasnt allowed to make an appointment (when I asked about getting in today) because the daytime staff doesnt want the night staff to touch their scheduling calendars. Say what? I told him thank you, and hung up - completely unimpressed once again. My kids knocked on my door early this morning to ask me if I could do anything as the hamster still wasnt eating and the eye was still closed and the other one was bulging. So...I called back...again. I was once again told that the vet who sees small critters wasnt there, and offered no alternative (like...making an appointment for another day). I asked if any of their other locations had a vet who could help, and was told I might try calling their Watauga Ave location. The end. With much skepticism, I called the Watauga location and spoke to the woman at the desk. She was nicer, but said the vet who deals with hamsters was completely booked today. So I explained the situation to her and asked her if she had any ideas about what I could do. Unlike the responses from Peoples Street, she offered to let me talk to a tech in the back and see if they could help me. She then transferred me to a really lovely lady named Chelsea, who listened while I explained what was going on, and answered my questions, and booked us for an appointment with the vet tomorrow at 9 AM. She seemed to understand that this pet matters to my kids, and she took the time to try to help. I dont know what our appointment will be like tomorrow, but I know were already off to a better start than any of my three interactions with the staff at Peoples Street.Had the woman the first night had an ounce of compassion or customer service, she would have offered to call the Watauga office to see if the hamster vet was still there and if we could get in.
This place is pathetic. Went there Sat with an emergency with our cat and they turned us away stating that they were full. What happened to them being a 24 hour emergency vet? Ended up having our cat taken care of at All Tails Vet beside Petsmart they did a great job and got us in right away. Never will I use Robinsons!
Its always about the money and they charge a fortune even for routine work. It costs me more to take my dogs to the vet than an emergency room visit for me! No walk in appts unless you pay $75-$100 extra on top of your treatment bill and at night only. Im going elsewhere from now on.
I will say it is nice that they are open 24 hours on the weekend. However, with that being said I brought my dog in to get his eye checked out. Showed up just before 5 pm on sat. 2 hours later he still wasnt seen. So sitting in a car with a dog in pain. No information coming to me. Seeing others who pulled up after me get their dogs taken in. Then told they must have shown up before and left and came back. All because the emergency doc doesnt come in till 630. What is the point of being open 24 hours if staff isnt there 24 hrs? With that being said I change my stars to 4. Yes their are some things to work on. However the convenience of them on the weekend being open 24 hours and not cost an arm and legs. Plus helping with applying the meds without charging is extremely helpful. Not many do this and the other place that I know of open those hours is the airport emergency vet.
I just want help for my dog but it seems like they are more about financial gain more than helping animals. I hope I’m a rare case bc this has got my all messed up.
I called to make an appointment for my dog, who is throwing up blood. I was told by the receptionist, who acted as if it was a burden I was calling to make an appointment, that all she had available was a 6:00 appointment that day. Cool! I took it. I show up, and they take my dog in, I explain he is acting fine, eating normal, no signs of anything bad, except the random throw ups with blood in the bile. They take him in and I call after an hour of waiting to see if he is ok in there.... they said they are sorry for my wait and come out quickly to give an estimate... Vet comes out 45 min later and explains liver numbers are off (could be from previous heartworm treatment), they should do fluids so he feels better and takes nausea away (I never said he felt sick or was acting sick? I said he is acting perfectly fine!) and I should call to make an appointment with my regular vet in the morning? Um, what? I was told this was an appointment with the vet... Nope.... They had me come at Urgent Care times and didnt even tell me that! I dont care to pay urgent care payments IF I know Im going to Urgent Care, but I wasnt told this was urgent care, I was told this was a regular scheduled appointment. So I leave paying $382 and no answers about my dog and why he is throwing up blood. I call this morning to ask about why I was told I had an appointment and I still have no answers why my dog is throwing up blood.... I am told the manager will call me and they literally didnt even mention my dog throwing up blood or ask if I wanted to make an appointment to still figure that out... Do they even care about the animals? Ive only continued to go here because two of the vets there are great, but the front desk staff are terrible. They clearly hate their jobs and dont care about your pets. They are constantly rude when we call and act bothered that we even disturbed them with a call.
Thanks to Robinson Animal Hospital for taking such good care of Luna when he had a very serious leg injury on a weekend. He was pretty scared since we couldnt go in with him and he can be a bit of a challenge if I am not with him, but they took him in and immediately took a look at his wound. The doctor took her time to call me twice to discuss the situation and something she had found with his medical condition which can be life threatening to him if he gets another injury and infection. I appreciated her taking the time to look a little deeper into his health. Luna wound has healed and he is doing well thanks to the great care he received at Robinsons Animal Hospital.
I was a new dog owner last year and had to find a new vet. Since Robinson was close to our home and had weekend hours, I thought it would be great place. However, I had to switch to another place because this place is not reliable at all. I will have to say that the one downtown is alot better than the one on Peoples street. They never answer the phone, and when they do, they either give you wrong information, or you feel that you are bothering them with your questions. I have called and left several messages with no call back. Even when I have an emergency, I didnt get a response. The front desk at Peoples Street is very unprofessional and basically rude. I have since left and now at another veterinarian and I have had an amazing experience. I would not recommend this Hospital to anyone, especially new owners.
The groomer Tonya is the best. My shi tzu was very scared and after just 2 haircuts she didnt shake anymore. Tonya did a great job with Sophie haircut. I would highly recommend her.
I am so thankful Dr. Kahn was able to help my kitty through a very unusual spay and my kitty is now doing great!! The staff is helpful and professional. I love they are doing curbside services and taking Covid precautions to protect the clients.
I have a Schnauzer with skin issues who requires a medication called Apoquel. They wanna charge $3.00 a pill for it, so I find it cheaper online through 1800 PetMeds, at which point they decided that I’d have to bring him in quarterly for expensive blood work for them to write the prescription. The greedy A-holes decided that they’d get their money by hook or by crook. My advice: Look literally ANYWHERE else for a vetUpdate: my fur baby is miserable without the medication, so, I call to get the expensive blood work done so that I can get him enough medication to hold him so that I can find another vet...now they refuse to see any of my animals because of the “altercation”....I’m only giving 1 star because negative numbers aren’t there!!
I had my dogs nails cut. Very seamless experience, very fast. They were also very gentle. Jessica at the front desk was super helpful and Ona (I hope I spelled her name correctly) was super sweet/helpful. Will be doing future visits here. Thanks!
Shame on you for not taking care of a dying cat!!
If you can get past the desk of karens, then the rest of the staff is great. however we will be looking for a new vet because of the lack of friendliness and making you feel like you are a burden. not to mention the scheduling us for the urgent care visit without mentioning the fact that it was an urgent care visit.
On Sunday morning February 14th, I took my 15 year old cat for an emergency visit. Dr. Kiser took 11 minutes called us and said he had a head cold but otherwise a healthy cat. He kept getting worse and by Monday night couldnt walk. We took him to Airport Emergency Clinic where the Dr. examined him and just by filling his abdomen discovered a tumor. He did an X ray and determined it was a large tumor that appeared to have metastasized to his lung. He asked if Robinson had mentioned his belly. At no time did she. My baby had quit using the bathroom and developed a fever. If I had listened and thought it was just a cold, his death could have been a lot worse. I will never ever ever take a fur baby of mine to them again. It is all about money not about care.
This animal hospital is by far more amazing than any of the area clinics. I took my cat Link there with an emergency and they stepped right up with their professionalidm, caring and sympathy. They were patient with the hard decisions I had to make. They cared for my cat like he was their own. I recommend that 100%. Thank you for all you did.❤
Ive been taking my dog here for at least 4yrs now she has a severe skin allergy not only have i been asking them to schedule something monthly they lied about me asking for it they claimed i denied giving my dog flea prevention even tho i paid for it i even tried coming back for a pill they told me id have to pay for another visit cause they couldnt give me meds without a doctor over seeing it ....and when i try to get a doctor they tell me no one is there ...the ladies up front are basically karens very rude and doesnt seem to like their job they barely pick up the phones and when they do its like they dont even work there very unprofessional all they care about is money and how much they can get from you ..not once did they try to offer a monthly schedule for my pup just a bill and boot to the door
I am a dog professional showing some dogs of differing breeds. I have met Dr Robinson while he was alive as he was the veterinarian at the local dog show with the Greater Kingsport Kennel Club. Dr Robinson himself was a kind dog professional who valued the breeder and their specific needs. I attempted to use this practice initially because I really appreciated him and the reputation he developed in providing great care to pets in the area. Dr Robinson past from cancer a few years ago sadly. Our community is at a loss for his passing. The practice I have experienced without him has not been helpful to me as I breed, health test, and nurture my quality show dogs. They have the equipment to be do progesterone testing now but lack someone who understands the timing essential to breeding. A couple years ago I had hormone testing sent out. It is the veterinarians responsibility to phone me immediately with the results. I didnt hear from their veterinarian until 5 days after they have received them! I lost that breeding because of their negligence. The practice now has the ability to give same day even same hour results for hormone and fertility but lacks the personnel to understand the essential timing needed with this. I phoned today to see if I can come in and get same-day results and they want to give me an appointment a week from now! Im sure if Dr Robinson were still with us he would disapprove.I have great experiences with Sanders Animal Hospital. Dr Sanders and staff are the best I have encountered in this area. I understand that their practice is soon to acquire the necessary equipment for hormone testing.
I am very upset with the receptionist for her unprofessional and carelessness of her job and her position. I have drove here 3 times now and my dog still has not been seen. I have brought my 9 year old dog here Since her 1st shots and I have never been shown and treated so unprofessionally with such unreliability. I have worked for doctor Kim at their personal home in the past and had the chance to thank doctor Kim for her great clinic and her great team as well as she thanked me for my 9 years of support and positive feed to our community about her and her clinic. So now here I am having to drive back for the 4th time And all of this is just to get some antibiotics so my dog Paw does not get infected... Also this has delayed our family plans this morning with my children Also having to miss church .. yes i am not happy . Other than this redicouls experience. Robinsons has been great to me and my family but still debating on continuing my money and my large family of pet owners here with robinsons
My daughter took our dog who was in obvious respiratory distress to Robinson Animal Hospital last night. The Doctor on staff came to the conclusion without performing any lab work or other tests that he was under stress for some reason unknown to us. They gave him an injection of a steroid, some sort of pain medication (even though he wasnt exhibiting any outward signs of pain), and IV fluids and sent him home to rest overnight with the instructions that if he wasnt better by morning to bring him back.Well, its morning, and, depending upon how you look at it, Id say hes not better. We found him curled up in his bed, having apparently died peacefully in his sleep.Im not angry about the dog dying, but I believe the Doctor should have made at least a little more effort to determine the cause of his respiratory distress. Obviously, the dog should have been kept overnight for observation. And, finally, maybe the Doctor should reconsider her career choice.I wont be taking any more animals to Robinson Animal Hospital.
I’ve called countless times and even when the receptionist picks up they’ll send me BACK to voicemail. I once called three times in a row trying to fill a prescription and they’d pick up and send me to voicemail. I couldn’t get an apt made or prescription filled. No one would call back. I went to a different vet center. This place was better when Dr Robinson was alive. There’s something shady and dishonest about it now.
Always takes great care of my pets! Extremely friendly staff, My cat just had her spay procedure last week and everything was wonderful, tiny, clean incision and she is feeling better than ever!
My older baby was really bad off they got us straight in they are getting her gulcose/blood sugar under contol. She a newly diagnosed diabetic. Shell get shots daily. She still there but there are being awesome with her shes still not safe but were praying..UPDATE: SHE CAME HOME ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON MONDAY BY NOON I WAS TAKING HER BACK WE DECIDED TO JUST LET HER STOP SUFFERING.. STILL THINK THEY DID ALL THEY COULD FOR ME BUT IK THEY GOTTA MAKE $$$ BUT ID SPENT OVER 2000.00 AND THEY WOULDNT EVEN PUT HER DOWN FREE STILL COST ME OFFICE VIST.. DR HINKLE IS THE GREATEST BUT SOME LIVES ARE PRICELESS EVEN IF U CANT AFFORD IT. I couldnt afford the deposit but I think they knew she wasnt going to make it and kept her 5 days 1700 to get under 24 hrs at home suffering no pain meds just insulin and antibiotics and a appitite ind. I cant think in what world would $ be more important than ur pet.. I still wouldve paid anything.. I paid for a private cremation I got her home 30 mins ago.. ITS NOT FAIR!!!!
Took my dog there because she had an infection and when we got her back the boy literally put her into the car and didn’t give us a chance to ask any questions. So of course we end up calling 2 different times to check and make sure she’s having normal side effects.A woman answered and I asked about something she acted like she has never worked in a vet office or anything. She said “uh uh uh yah” and that was the extent. If she couldn’t answer the question she could’ve just transferred us?And then I call back later to talk to another person and I ask my remaining questions. One word answers, doesn’t really seem to care. It’s the fact they never explained anything. They just dropped her off, and oh you can’t forget about how they were ONLY talkative when it came to the money. What kind of vet doesn’t tell you if your dogs gonna be passed out on the floor all night or won’t eat.All they had to do was tell us the side affects.Northridge Vet is the way to go!!!!
Always used Robinsons for my pets never had a problem**update i received a phone call and an apology, i have updated my review and appreciate the callback.
Do not go to this vet! They charge ridiculous prices and are completely unprofessional! Its clear they dont care about the animals anymore but only the money!
I cant really complain about the vet care, but the support staff is awful. They are snarky and unhelpful when I call. A quick 5 minute blood draw took over two hours (waiting in the car) because they forgot that we were there. Then after they took my dog in, they forgot to bring her back out. Messages are left and phone calls not returned. Prescriptions I call in for refill have been forgotten (and my dog went without necessary medication). The people who answer the phone dont know the answer to questions and dont seem to care to find an answer. This place used to be awesome when Dr. Robinson was alive. Its gone from awesome to awful. They seriously need an office manager.
Several of the veterinarians here had been been recommended by friends, who are all extremely diligent about veterinary care. I will never know if these recommendations were helpful or not, as the receptionists seem disinterested in making appointments. After submitting three online requests for an appointment, which were ignored, I decided to call for for an appointment. This was as fruitless as the online requests as the calls always went to a voice mail and the calls were never returned. I dont have time for this!!! Something strange is going on with this place and my dogs deserve better!
Mine and my boyfriend’s dog was recently attacked by other dogs, leaving him bleeding, in shock, and horribly damaged internally. Out of 11 vets in the area I called, this was the only vet willing to treat him during this emergency. None of us, including the hospital staff, thought our sweet boy was gonna make it. I was so relieved when they scooped him right up and took him back. Robinson Animal Hospital and Dr. Khan especially (along with all the other staff I’ve communicated with) have gone above and beyond to ensure our dog was safe, free of pain (as much as he can be), and was on the road to recovery. Despite literally his entire side being ripped open, the stitches really do look absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately for the dog his internal damage was so bad he had some other complications that arose after everything was said and done at RAH the first time, but when we took him back the second time we had just as positive of an experience if not even more. When picking the dog up after his second stay, the woman working who carried him in the first time he visited was the same woman bringing him back out to us. She told us how much everyone there loved him and she even told our dog she loved him before we left. It really makes you appreciate how much the people here really do care about the wellbeing of your pets. Despite living two hours away this vet is where we’ll bring our pets from now on. RAH has been absolutely magnificent and I can’t thank them enough.
Thank you for helping poor Baby cross over as painlessly as you could.Sad as it may be and so sudden that she was gone.Your doctors, and all involved were very friendly and understanding. I thank every single one of you for that. ❤
Took my dog on the wrong day. Will return on the 29th of June
I was nervous bringing my sweet boy here because of the bad reviews but I had no choice after hours.I was very pleased with the level of care Remi received.Blood work, medicine, the bill was 258.00.The veterinarian was very knowledgeable and patient answering my questions.I would definitely recommend.Thank you Robinson.
Took my dog here last night. For an open wound. Spider or bug bite. Needed antibiotics. You cant go in with dog. So they took him in. And he dont get out much. Especially without us. So they had to put him to sleep. Hes home now with a rib bone sticking out of his side. Cant even touch him. He is miserable. They have definitely hurt him. 5 years my dog has never hurt like this. Go to a vet that wont hurt your dog. And that you can go in with. Not sure what Im gonna do about this yet.
People’s street location: My cat was bleeding from a wound that was infected and had burst open and I was told there were absolutely no appointments available for a week, not even emergency or work-ins. I don’t understand how they can claim to be “emergency” or open 24/7 if they can’t see an animal that’s hurt for another week. I then asked if I could still come and just wait to see if my cat could be squeezed in and they said that I wouldn’t be seen because of only one doctor working. Very disappointing. The business is fine if it’s a scheduled yearly exam, but I would still prefer to go to the Watauga location over People’s street location. 3 stars because I will probably still take my furbabies for their yearlys, but if it comes to a wound or if they’re hurt, I’ll be going elsewhere.
I came in with my roommate in the middle of the night, cause she was really worried about her dog... Not looking or acting too good. They found out the dog had some type of blocked urinary issues. They kept the dog for a couple nights before sending the pup to UT. Every visit, they made sure to inform us on all the details. A young lady named Taylor.. She stood out to us. She was very compassionate and helpful. She made sure to explain everything to us every step of the way. She told us we can call any hour of the night to check on things or to ask questions. She went above and beyond and we noticed it. She gave extra blankets and even a heating pad to keep sweet pup comfortable. Taylor made us feel like the little pup was in good hands there! Thanks Taylor!
Called to make an emergency appointment for my dog and the lady that answered the phone was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. Will not be going there!!!
Robinson couldn’t even diagnose our 8 month old Aussie correctly. I honestly have too many words to even put here. Robinson is horrible. Not reliable. Shady!
We began taking our dog here five years ago because thats where she had been taken as a puppy. Then, we had no serious complaints. The front office staff could be a little surly and slow, but the treatment our pup received from the vet techs and vets was consistently good. Now, we have serious complaints. In the past year and a half, the front office staff has become more and more rude, apathetic, and unorganized. This past December my fiance was waiting to pay for our dogs visit, and they admittedly forgot about him. He had been sitting there, holding ourlarge, nervous dog for an hour. If you have to leave a message (which is often, because they rarely answer the phone), dont expect a call back. Its a nightmare to try to schedule an appointment or get a prescription filled. In addition to the poor service at the front desk and pharmacy, the visits themselves have become mediocre. It feels as though were getting to know a new doctor every time we go, which can be uncomfortable for us and for our pup. I understand that its difficult to create a welcoming, familiar environment when the same vet isnt in the office every day; but thats the kind of environment we would like to experience when we bring our pup to the vet. So
I don’t think this management care about these comments below, pretty sad to think what the owner would think about it if he would be alive. however I am just gonna drop my comment so people can know about this place. Today 08/07/20 around 4.30 pm we came with my dog to see a doctor. After waiting 1.5 hours I explain the nurse guy that my dog is afraid of strange people, that he suffer panic and he refuse to come in the hospital inside with strange people. In conclusion, DR NICK ( new one on the place) did not want to see my dog outside even thought I explain them about my dog situation and frutal illness he has. What they want to do in this case ? Force the dog to come in, right him really strong to follow them alone . I even asked them to go with him inside but they didn’t want to. It’s really sad the profesional way they treat customers. They just want money money money. Now the nurse guy came outside and told me to reschedule for another visit with another doctor. I have to wait 10 days with my sick dog to see a doctor again. THIS IS THE PLACE WHERE YOU ARE THINKING TO TAKE YOUR DOG ? check another options, there are really other small places where the same doctor owner take care about your pet with love !!! PRETTY SURE YOU WILL FIND ANOTHER PLACE.
Rude, Poor communication, doesnt look at past records. It really troublwhen this is the only Vet office you can take your animals to and you do not trust the care they are getting.
Since covid this is the only place we can find to trim nails. Every 4 weeks we get it done, and every 4 weeks its an excessive wait in the car cause youre NOT allowed in while masks are supposed to stop the spread! Today i have finally decided to speak up. Our dogs had an appointment at 11:00 for a simple nail trim and weight check, finally at 11:25 I call them to ask if we had been forgotten about since 3 people after us had gotten their pets in ahead of us. I hear I am so sorry, we will be right out! They had absolutely forgotten about their care, but remembered their money right away as they asked for it upon telling them we were there. I got charged full price for our inconvenience while trying to get out of here for a military event in DC. Thanks for the full price hold up!
They don’t care about animals only the money they can make off of you. That is if you can even get them to answer the phone. Only giving one star because I can’t give a zero star rating.
Never trust your pets with these unprofessional and not compassionate providers. Spent 4 hours in the parking lot while my pet had obvious bowel obstruction that was sent home with anti nausea meds and an outrageous vet bill. He continued to decline throughout the night, when I called at 2am to tell the treatment team how he was doing they blew me off, stating to wait 24 more hours. By the next morning he was lethargic and could not walk. Thank God for Indian Ridge Animal Hospital for saving his life. My pet would have died in Robinson’s care.
Good service, i expected an after hours animal hospital to take longer than a usual vet visit but the DR which i dont remember her name voluntary dropped the after hours charge for the wait. Took care of my immediate needs without trying to do many extra things. Very much appreciated from this working class stiff on a budget who just wanted to take care of my doggie! I usually use the regular office but am glad to have the 24 hour office available for emergencies.
Called due to our beloved 14 year old dog needed be put down and was told they would call with a time to bring her in. Still waiting on the call. No compassion. Thank god we found another vet that had a heart and didnt let her suffer more than she had to. Will not depend on these people anymore. At least you could of called and told us we needed to find another vet. Cruel
***** The Folks at Robinson Animal Hospital are THE BEST! They treat us & our pets like Family! Weve had TWO (2) Weekend Emergencies in the last 6 months -- and Dr. Kiser and her excellent Team in North Johnson City saved the day every time...! Many Thanks & Blessings to You & ALL Yours! (oD *****
Excellent care for both of dogs. Great puppy care. And surgery for a tumor removal for our older dog. The doctors were very kind and patient with us while making decisions.
Dont go here. I repeat you will be sorry. Told to be there at 5 and call when we arrive they would come out and get our dog. We have a 12 year old 90 pound German Shepard. He was in obvious pain. Arrive exactly at 5 they tell us the doctor doesnt arrive until 5:30. Ok we can wait 30 mins. After an hour we left and went to the airport vet. You cannot expect someone to keep a shepard contained in a car and happy for an hour when he is in pain. I would never trust these people with dog.
This clinic absolutely lies !! I called this clinic to make an appointment to spay my cat, I explained in detail that we had just re-homed her last kitten the same day I called. The technician “ Andrea” informed me that they Could get us in as early as the very next day, we were happy to make that appointment. The appointment was for 8:45am. So my GF gets up early, calls to confirm the spot we had for 8:45 drives 35 mins to the clinic, “Andrea” meets her at her vehicle like instructed to vet the phone, “Andrea” then proceeds to tell her that the “DR” will not do a spay until the cat is no longer producing milk! Obviously frustrated my GF reminds “Andrea” that we had informed her the day prior that we had just rehomed the cats last kitten that day, “Andrea” then lies and tells her she didn’t make the app UN they and doesn’t know who did. My GF without incident leaves. She calls me on her way home with the cat, so I call the clinic, Andrea answers my call, I asked her why they turned my GF away? She told me that the DR will not do a spay on a cat still making milk, so I reminded her that I had spoke to her the day prior and informed her that the cat had just had her last kitten rehomed the day she made the appointment for us, she denied even knowing anything about it at all, even went so far as to lie and say she wasnt even at work the day prior! I told her that I had written her name down And the time when she gave it, the day she made the appointment SOOO, we wait till the cat is no longer producing milk, we call back to make another appointment to get the cat spayed, Andrea answer the phone and she informs my GF they do not wish to help us with our cat now! Why are we Punished because Robinson’s hires and employees a liar? Needless to say, this place deserves my 1 star rating! Complete waste of time, completely unprofessional, Andrea is a complete liar! I
I called to schedule an appointment for my dog. The first thing I was being asked was if I know I will be responsible for all the bills. When I asked a question, the lady on the phone would add a statement to the end of her answer that I need to be responsible for all the medical bills. I adopted my dog and I certainly understand that I am fully responsible to pay for all his care. If all they care about is money, I am not sure if my dog will be taken good care of at this place. I also don’t need someone to tell me that I need to pay the bills for my dog!!!!!
The only reason I give this place 1 star is because 0 stars is not available. The location advertises that they have a Veterinarian on staff 24hrs. 7 days a week. However, this is not the case when my wifes sister went there. The Vet usually leaves after midnight as the note on their door states. So dont advertise yourself as an emergency hospital if youre not prepared to fulfill those requirements. If the notes on the door are accurate, that would leave one to wonder who is left there to provide medical care to the hospitalized pets if there is not a veterinarian there. I wonder if any of the employees there besides the Doctors have actual schooling in the veterinary field. If my pet was being hospitalized there and I was paying hundreds of dollars a night to have my pet there, I would want someone with an education in animal care to be there in case my pet got worse. Perhaps someone that would be able to follow the standard of care thats expected and required. This place does not care about your pets, only their money. How this place has not been reported to some sort of veterinary board is beyond me! This place is horrible!!!!
I became a client of this practice about 3 years ago and originally went to the Watauga location, but began coming to this location due to convenience. Are there issues? Yes, but if you want the best veterinary care for your pet/pets, I couldn’t recommend a finer veterinary clinic.Right off the bat I will make it clear that you are required to pay for all veterinary services that day, with no exceptions. This is standard with every vet that I have ever visited, in the various cities I have lived in.And the receptionists are surely not the best! They may be rude and may not pay attention to the clients or their duties. Instead of voicing this on Google, call and ask to speak to the office manager! Perhaps talking to a human being can lead to improving that situation. They have nothing to do with my pets health and I tolerate their attitude. I am hopeful that this might improve. When it comes to what matters the most to me, which is medical care for my big girl, I couldn’t recommend them more. I do have a vet that I have a relationship with and prefer to see for routine visits. But my big girl has been sick and has seen two other doctors, and they have been excellent. And the veterinary technicians are just as excellent with communication, including asking questions and relaying test results back to me in a timely manner. If your desire is for professional, quality vet care, this is your place! If you want free vet care, or have a sob story to share, this isn’t your place.
Thank you so much for taking care of Sampson. You were all so sweet to him and made me feel at ease about the care he was getting in a stressful situation!!
Called to due to an emergency situation with my pet, lady that answered the phone told me they couldn’t because they closed in 30 minutes. Referred me to another vet, and told me to “keep calling” until they answered, then hung up. NO COMPASSION, and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Will never make a phone call or recommend anyone there!
The staff is friendly and they are always able to see me quickly any time I call. Because my work schedule varies and is so hectic, I love the fact I can just walk in without an appointment to get my dogs their shots. As far as price, I feel they are in the normal range. Im not really sure why some people expect veterinary care to be cheap. This hospital has a vet on staff 24 hours a day and I appreciate that.
CAUTION!! Do not come to this vet clinic. They will do anything they can to make an extra buck off you. You never know if the treatment they recommend for your pet is necessary or if they just want more money. Their customer service is awful. Dr. Robinson would truly be ashamed of the way the business he built is being run into the ground.
My mother has my cat there currently with a broken foot and my mother has been waiting for hours. These so-called animal lovers need to be investigated.
The rudest people ever. No compassion for you or your animals.
Staff very friendly, very compassionate. I was a walk in & they took very good care of us. Gave me all my options. I would strongly recommend this clinic for your pet needs.
We waited four hours to have my dog put to sleep and waken up and medicine They said he was hard to deal with which I know that but they broke his rib cage trying to hold him down. My dog is very friendly until it came to them. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! It’s making me anxious and worried! I CANT EVEN PET MY DOG ANYMORE!!!!!
Had to wait a little while but the clinic was very busy with cases worse than mine. The vet and techs were very friendly and explained things well. They provided knowledgeable, compassionate care for my dog. Overall very happy. Keep up the great work!!!!!
Do NOT take your pets here! Multiple stories of pets dying here for no reason and sadly we experienced it ourselves!
By far the worst place I have ever taken my dogs. They are unorganized and theyre not helpful at all whatsoever. Horrible customer service. The one on Watauga is amazing but the one on people street is horrible I wouldnt take a flea there. One thing I can say is that the groomer Tonya is amazing. She takes her time with the dogs. Shes shes a sweetheart my dogs love her but as far as the rest of the staff I will never take my kids back there.
My dog Bindi suffered an injury last week and had a little setback didnt want to wait for my regular vet on Monday so called Robinson at 5:27 a.m. this morning. Explain the situation and everything that was going on ask them point-blank if they were open 24 hours and could they see her... The lady said absolutely what time can you be here. I said between 7 and 7:30 a.m. she said that is perfect come on in. I drive 35 minutes there and arrive at 7:10 and the lady says Im sorry we have no doctor on staff till 9... U will have to wait... I said youre kidding me. I specifically called you. She said Im sorry I dont know who you spoke with but we cant see her till 9. She said let me ask the doctor that is still here if she can stay over. She asked her she said no I have to be somewhere. Then they offered to take her and put her in a crate and wait till 9 a.m. Im like are you kidding me. My dog is suffering and in pain and you want to stick her in a cage for an hour and a half no thanks.... absolutely worst experience ever. I am currently on my way to airport pet clinic where I probably should have gone to start with....
Experienced staff and professionals. I would recommend this location for all emergency patients. They truly care about their patients.
Robertsons animal hospital has gone from being a great place to bring your animals to the worst place to take your beloved family pets. The ladies at the desk told me that if I didnt pay 600.00 that I couldnt get my cats fixed. Then she said to just take the kittens to the pound if the cats got pregnant. Its not like they dont have to kill enough pets already. I had an appointment with them and the pound was going to let me use vouchers for the surgery. I wasnt allowed to use them today and I just cant believe how rude and unprofessional they are. I dont believe you should ever take your pets to them if they just want to get money and wouldnt let me use the voucher that they had already said I was going to be able to use so that it would be 60.00 vrs 600.00 it seems like they are very money hungry and RUDE!
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Khan was totally right about her diagnosis. However, I brought a mama cat who just gave birth that morning and I knew something was not right. She had gave birth to 5 kittens and was not nursing them. Mama kitty was a wonderful mother to her previous litter. They did a x-ray and found out she had not delivered what they thought was 2 kittens. The price was 1000.00 and I did not have a 1000.00 at that time and had no way of getting that amount of money. The Dr. told me several times that she may not make it through the night. I had to pack mama and kittens home and say a prayer and take them to my vet in am due to them allowing payments. Mama thankfully did okay during night and I took mama and kittens to my vet Jonesborough Animal Hospital and mama kitty had C Section and got spayed as well for under 400.00. I paid 50.00 and will pay the rest when I get paid. Anyway to make a long story shorter, I was thankful Robison was opened at 8pm and I appreciate that they were all nice, but no money meant no care for mama kitty. I was saddened. I knew Dr. Robinson, when he was alive and I am surprised at his hospital since he went to heaven. Anyway, everything turned out the best, but my vets are the best no doubt!!!!!!!
My little dog became extremely sick overnight, and I was so thankful that this wonderful place was available. We recently relocated to this area and though finding a new vet was high on my list, I thought that I had more than two weeks to do so!When I called, the receptionist wasnt the most pleasant but she did get me right in for an appointment. The rest of the staff couldnt have been more amazing or attentive to her needs. And what meant the most to me is that we communicated so well. I just wanted to get her feeling better, as quickly as possible, and they did just that.Overall, I was completely thrilled with the service, pricing and the end result! My only suggestion would be to teach the front desk some manners and customer service.
I used to really like Robinsons, but their new office is a scam. I took my cat there for his SCHEDULED appointment. Upon entering the building, I go up to the front desk, and the older woman with medium length brunette hair was chatting it up with her coworkers. Im standing there, waiting for someone to address me. She turns, looks at me, and then turns back around and continues to chat. One of the techs that happened to walk up from the back was the one who finally asked what we needed. Her name was Jessica, and she was the only helpful member of the staff. We get back to the room, and wait thirty minutes before the tech comes in to even ASK what were here for. She takes his weight and temperature and then leaves. AN HOUR AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES LATER, Holly Kennedy walks into the room. She has NO CLUE as to why were here, so I have to explain to yet another person as to what our visit was for. (My cats eye has been watering and seemed bloody, I was concerned.) When I told her that his way seemed strange, that it had been oozing blood, she has the nerve to say Well, I dont see any blood now THERE WAS STILL A LITTLE BLOODY SCAB AT THE CORNER OF HIS EYE. No, not an eye booger. There was still some bloody residue around it, CLEARLY RED WHEN YOU WIPED AT IT WITH A TISSUE. I wasnt going to pick it off and further irritate him. She didnt seem concerned in the well-being of my cat at all, and was very short with us, not letting us finish our sentences. She puts some drops in his eye, and then comes to the conclusion that its pink eye, gives me a thirty dollar tube of ointment to put in his eye for a week. A WEEK LATER, AND HIS EYE IS NO BETTER. Ill be switching vets.
The vets are always extremely attentive and helpful and the front desk and pharmacy are great. We use Robinson because theyre open 24 hours on the weekends and until midnight during the week so if anything happens we dont usually need to worry about them being closed. Theyre a little pricey but its definitely worth it for the level of service. Our dog loves the vets and they love him too.
Fantastic place. Walked in and they saw my cat within ten minutes. Very nice people that actually care about me and my pet. Highly recommend !
