Car smelled like an ash tray.. I told them. Im a nonsmoker, so its a strong smell. The guy asked if it would effect my breathing. Well, no.. but it stinks. I didnt feel like debating, so I took the car. But I feel like if a customer says the car stinks.. offer a different car. Other than that, the car was fine, it worked.

I got coverage on a rental car (that was being paid for by someone else’s car insurance) and wasn’t told that it wasn’t going to be covered by the other person’s insurance or that it was something I’d have to pay for. I wasn’t given a rate, total price, or anything. Just a “few more signatures and a $50 deposit and we’re done here”. Whenever I called to discuss the $214 charge that was added to my credit card I was told I “signed for it three times” and that “I should’ve been told about a $130 charge that day.” Again, was never told what I was signing for or given any kind of price or rate. The ONLY thing I was told about was a $50 deposit which was going to be refunded whenever the car was returned. I even tried to pay the $50 in cash but was told that it wasn’t an acceptable form of payment, which isn’t and wasn’t a big deal. I wrote to the customer service email and was told I’d be hearing from the Regional Management team to figure out the situation. It’s been over a month and I’ve yet to speak to anyone. It seems very sneaky and deceitful. I wouldn’t have agreed to anything I was paying for out of pocket when the initial situation was being handled by someone else’s insurance.
Made reservations over the phone. Showed up and had to wait a half hour. The apparent manager spent more time chit chatting with the employees than helping customers. Apparently the car was being cleaned but no one told us that. Just told to take a seat and wait. Whole waiting area smelled of mold. Half a dozen customers were waiting around for their cars with no one checking in to update any of use on how much longer our waits would be. If we hadnt needed the car immediately we would have walked out. And guy who wrapped up the sale couldnt be bothered to figure out who was paying and spent the entire time telling the wrong person about the car and insurance. Enterprise will not be getting anymore of my business.
The van ran good and had plenty of room. They were great to deal with and decently quick about the process. There was a rattling noise coming from the right side we could never figure out and it was pretty dirty even though they had just cleaned it. There was ice cream or something on the back of the passenger seat and the outside was terribly dirty.
The folks that I dealt with were all very nice. Unfortunately there were no vehicle available when I was told it would be, instead 3 hours later we were able to get one. The vehicle was nice except it smelled a little of cigarette smoke and the interior windows were very dirty.
Employees were kind and courteous. Explained everything in deal. Highly recommend them. Wouldnt hesitate to use them again.
Had a wonderful experience returning a car to this office, which was not the original office I was supposed to return the car to. We spoke on the phone with Bradley V, and he told us it was not a problem, we stopped by, he immediately came to help us out, drove us to a drop off location we requested, and then was super helpful and courteous. Extremely pleased.
From reservation to pickup, they are professionals all the way. They were prompt, answered my questions, modified and extended my reservation with ease plus the model and style of car I really liked - Ford fusion with a sun roof! Great job Enterprise.
I arrived to pick up my rental about 15 minutes before they closed. Apparently, so did everyone else that day! I was given a free upgrade then had it taken away because it needed to be serviced. After waiting about 20 minutes for my rental to be washed and sanitized, everything from that point on was rushed because they closed at 6pm and it was almost 6:30pm. The rep talked so fast and rushed through everything - and the mask didn’t help the matter! I finally drove off the lot a little after 6:30pm only to realize (after receiving my invoice email) that the rep put me down for the collision damage insurance when I specifically said I didn’t want anything extra added. Of course they were closed, so I had to wait until the next morning to call. I did, but called for 30 mins straight until someone picked up the phone. It was all straightened out and I understand businesses are busy and short staffed. At drop off, a different rep apologized for the confusion and miscommunication and fixed the issue. This does not deter me from renting from Enterprise, I will be back again.
I am currently renting through this company and I want to share how great their team has been so far. This is my first time ever renting a car, but they made it really quick and easy. The girl that took my payment explained things quickly but in terms I could understand, and when I had questions they were helpful and made changes to help meet my financial situation. I am grateful for them as having a car down is stressful in itself. So if youre renting a car I recommend using them.
There insurance is the worst I have ever delt with.its a nightmare.thay wreck there car into your fence and then dont want to pay to fix it.worst company ever.i have to file a claim with my home owners insurance and let them sue them.i will never use them.there self insured right.now I know why.

This place doesnt even deserve the one star rating I had to give them to leave my review.After making a reservation online for a intermediate/mid-size SUV, I recieved a phone call from their office to confirm my reservation and to let me know that they did not have an intermediate/ mid-size SUV, but they had a larger SUV that they could accommodate me with at the same price, so I accepted the upgrade, and took an hour off work to go pick up the vehicle. Upon arrival, the agent told me that the only SUV they had was a Premium SUV that had just came back in, which requires a credit card to rent, which I have, however, this information was not given by phone, so I have wasted a trip to the Johnson City location. From the posting lot, I called the Customer Service Department, and had my reservation transferred to another branch (Elizabethton, Tn), so I asked the agent to please verify the availability of the SUV I was needing, at which point he assured me that it was there. Luckily I had enough common sense to call the office myself to verify, only to find out that they did not have the Midsize SUV available either. The first week of August I had to put my car in the shop and rented a car for 7 days. They picked me up and I had no issues until time to return it. They lie to get you in there, and then couldnt cate less that youre stranded now because they lied. Its really unfortunate that these agents have such a negative attitude.Matt in the Elizabethton location called around and found a SUV for me and transfered the reservation to the Kingsport office. Evan in Kingsport was more than helpful over the phone and gave me all the information I needed 2 hours before my pick-up time, as well as extended out my reservation. Johnson City location are full of people who cannot be bothered to help you when an unforseen event arises. Getting them to look up from their phones long enough to address an actual problem is like poking a mad bear with a hot stick. The last time I was in the JC office to return the car, I had called ahead and made arrangements, but they left me stranded for hours, if not for the kindness of a stranger Id probably still be sitting there. Im not sure how a business can operate like this. I will drive by the JC office to get to Kingsport or Elizabethton, but I will NOT give them an opportunity to cost me hours at work or a $30 lyft ride again..
Enterprise was quite accommodating and easy to work with when I had to get a rental after someone hit my sons car in a parking lot and it was in the shop for repair for over two weeks. The other persons insurance covered the cost of the rental so that meant Enterprise had to deal with them as well and there was some confusion between the insurance company and the body shop about how long it should take. Enterprise made it easy on me and did much of the communications. Will definitely use them again when I need a rental.

Our rental car from another location, but the tires were low on tread, and then the TPMS light came on. We came to this location since the TPMS light came on and they thankfully had the exact same make and model available. They quickly cleaned the car and swapped us out and we were on our way. Excellent customer service!

I have to rent pretty frequently because of my line of work, and this location has always been warm, friendly, and super helpful! They’ve handled this last year very professionally what with the pandemic going on, and I actually look forward to my near weekly visits with them.

The vehicle was very nice and I was happy with my purchase until I got out of town and realized my tags were expired! And had been expired since the next day after I picked it up. I also picked it up on a Tuesday and they had me returning it on a Monday which of course they charged me late fees and took my deposit. When I informed Hunter the man I called about the tags of the vehicle he thought he would be slick or thought i was dumb one and told me they have a 90 day grace period which was a lie and when I called him out about it he still tried to lie to me. I will never rent from here again.

The local people are very nice, but the company price gouges! I rented a car last Thur and rented again this Thur. This week the price was double what it was last week. I can see it being a little higher for Christmas week, but not double!

I’ll never go back there. Worse customer service I have had at the Johnson city location. Had the manager call me after paying $2500 over the past 6 weeks for Elantra cheapest package I could get. Because I had got a balance and now owed less then $100 demanded I had to bring there car back that day. When I said I’m working but I’ll bring it back tomorrow and pay off my balance. Not the way I would do business To what I would value as a good customer and will be the last time I go there or refer any one there.

Tried their best to get me a rental
As a fairly regular customer I was concerned and disappointed First I was offered and upgrade with this rental at $5 per day. After I agreed to it I ws told no it will be $10 a day. Took it anyway though I said I did not like being switched and the vehicle does not appear very clean! When I got home I noticed a large amount of a slimy substance covering the back seat and console. Sanitized it myself. Smudged fingerprints on the touchscreen. dirty carpet. mentioned all of this when I returned it but no one seemed to care! As we are in a pandemic I cant believe the condition of the vehicle. Either it was not cleaned between rentals or someone should be fired for putting my family at risk!
I have had good experiences with this company and the guys here in eliabethton, tn are very nice to me. they treat me good. of course i fuss about the fee they hold but i get it. i will rent from them again.

It was a great experience, the truck I rented was smooth riding, quite, great air output from air conditioner, did get not tired driving, was a comfortable ride, would recommend Enterprise to family and friends.

This branch is a little small, but I was able to get in and out with a new rental in less than 10 minutes. The return process took even less time. Would definitely use again and will use Enterprise in the future.
Normal enterprise. This location has a good staff and are helpful and friendly. They didnt have my reserved car at my last visit and did the right thing and upgraded me for free. Only knocks are, there isnt anywhere to park and leave your car, but they have pickup and drop off and there isnt an after hours drop off.

Enterprise has always made difficult situations easier. After an accident I wasn’t looking forward to having to deal with getting a rental until my insurance had settled, but enterprise picked my up and made everything very simple.

The moment I walked in the door I was greeted warmly by the staff, the man who took care of my paperwork had everything ready and I was on my way in under 5 minutes. I am renting to drive to a funeral out of state, and it was such a relief to have a friendly face and a hassle free renting experience. I will be using them for all my rental needs moving forward. Very good booking experience. Very pleased with the vehicle we were given. The personnel were great.Unfortunately we were not able to go on our trip and returned the car first thing the next morning. My only regret is we took the gas credit and were not able to take advantage of it as we went less than 20 miles and had the car less than a day. We will definitely rent again but we will pass on the gas credit as you never know when your plans can change.
Four Stars: transaction process, rental cost, etc.were all above average when compared to my experience with their competition.Rating detractor: my one complaint is the condition of the windows and mirrors. So much attention is given to the rest of the vehicle (a good thing), but the windows and mirrors are overlooked. We always allow time to clean them before hitting the road. Dirty windows and mirrors are especially a pain at night!
Everyone was helpful and kind . The only issue I had was a made the reservation online and it was for more days than I needed the car. I did my know that the Johnson City Tennessee store was open on Sunday until two days before my pickup day. So I Chang my reservation to pickup in Sunday and drop of on Monday. I knew I would be charged for two days but my original reservation was for more days and pickup in Friday and drop off on Tuesday and the total was going to be 92 dollars and change. Well then I pickup on Sunday and brought back on Monday and knew I would be charged to 2 days, put gas in the car before returning and it was 146 dollars for 2 days. More than if I had just went with my original reservation. I was not happy about that price increase.
More or less this first comment is for the company as a whole. Make clear of the deposit fee and not make it a location by location only fee. $200 for a deposit that Im refunded (I really hope so because $300 for one day rental.will make me not come back).First time renting a car ever and this location was really nice. However had difficulty operating some functions of the car because they didnt tell me how to turn on the lights or open the gas cap. My car at home is older than me so Ive gotten used to it. I know newer cars have different functions of how to turn on lights but each car is different and I had to look in th car for 10 mins to find the gas cap button when I was filling it up. Also had to figure out which setting was regular lights, and couldnt even get the high beams to stay on.Nice staff, maybe just take the time to asking th customer is familiar with where things are in a car and how to use them.
Reserved a premium car 6 days prior to picking it up. No premium car but put me in a SUV. granted it was a nice SUV but it rode like an SUV and the mileage was terrible. We spotted me a half a tank of gas to compensate for the mileage. I normally rent premiums, because my trips are normally long and a premium is more comfortable, but it always seems to be struggle for them to have one available. The staff is always friendly and helpful and I understand that they can only work with what is in their inventory but you would think if they are going to charge a premium price they should have what your paying for.
Booked a car for c amount of dollars but was charged 100.00 more that booked price. Never broke rules and returned it 1/2 day early with a full tank of gas. Won’t be doing business with them again.
I have rented from a lot of Enterprise but nothing compares to the one in Johnson City. They are always polite and caring. They put you in the best cars they have and never once have I had a problem. Enterprise Rent-A-Car has really great customer service, something seriously lacking with other companies. Good customer service is something that is very important to me. Their rates are excellent and affordable. I was especially grateful that I received a vehicle upgrade back in May for our trip to Nebraska, at no additional charge. We needed the extra room to take items to our son and grandson. There is no doubt that when I need to rent a car again in the future, I will definitely be using Enterprise. Overall: Pretty GoodFirst time using Enterprise under state contract after recent institutional change. Once able to sign up for required Emerald Club membership, was able to register and reserve car at alternate local location. Although car type specified was unavailable (due to short—3 hour—time between registration/reservation and pickup), desk upgraded vehicle and off I went. Phone and desk support exceptional.
Great location, the manager worked with my group in June on a van rental. Took great care of us. I am a Silver member as I dont rent much anymore. I use to be Platinum. But i recently tried calling back to ask some questions and because it was for a possible rental I was sent to corporate level phones. That is why I rate this place a 3 star. I am one who prefers to speak to local people that know the area and who will be arriving to rent. So we rented a van last week from another company for regular rate because they couldnt take 2 minutes in the local office and answer a question.

Driven lots of there cars, I got a Toyota Prius this time, never drove one. I will say it was an awesome ride excellent gas mileage, roomy. They are a great group of people working at this office. They have been outstanding when it comes to service. Any thing that came up they always made it right. They do a great job with the small space the have to work with. I would love to see corporate improve there space to clean and prep cars, what they have now is not enough. I do appreciate enterprise.

I rented from here twice this summer, and both experiences were good. The staff is friendly. The cars ran fine. The lot is a bit small, but they make it work somehow. There was a 20 minute wait to return one car, but that is understandable. As with all car rental companies, you should do a careful inspection of the car, and also make sure you are covered with insurance somehow, whether through your work, your credit card, or the rental agency. I actually noticed a small problem with the car just as I was leaving the lot, but I returned and pointed it out to the agent, and he went ahead and marked it, and it was no problem. The people I worked with all seemed honest and professional.
I just want to update my review of enterprise ( Bristol Highway location ). My wife and I were informed by a very good source that the manager and his sidekick do not care for interracial couples. They decided to find a reason to put us on the do not rent list, because we are an interracial couple. It is very upsetting to know that some people in society can’t look past a persons skin color. Shame on you Enterprise, I can’t believe you condone this behavior.

My car dealership had left me high and dry when getting my car worked on, and I was in desperate situation to get to work. Even at the last minute though, the folks at this Enterprise were super friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to help me get where I needed to go as quickly as possible. To add the cherry on top, when my reserved car was unavailable, they upgraded me with no extra fees. I cant speak of them highly enough. I will be using them for all my rentals from now on.

Staff is extremely nice and cooperative. Rented a full size SUV (Black Ford Tahoe) and seemed to get special treatment on the road (looked like the Secret Service). Great ride and electronics. I would have given them 5 stars but they messed up on delivery and delayed the start of a busy day by 3 hours. Be sure to confirm with the manager that they will deliver. Staff seems a little weak in this area. When I made reservations I specified a residential delivery. The day before, I called twice to confirm that they would deliver. First call was to confirm 9:30 delivery and second call was to move it up to 8am. Had a voice message call at 5:30 simply confirming reservation at 8am. No mention of pick-up at their location. So next day 1.5 hours after scheduled delivery time, I called rental office and was transferred to manager. He stated that they did not deliver to residences and that there was a communication error. Yep, there was but it was with his staff. He made it right and had vehicle delivered within 40 minutes. They did make a nice recovery and I will certainly continue to use them.
This last time (December 23rd) that I rented a vehicle was the 3rd vehicle Ive rented from Enterprise on the Bristol Highway. As always, the staff was helpful, knowledgeable and easy to work with.The vehicles Ive rented have been AWESOME! The first vehicle was a pick-up truck, a 2018 Chevy Silverado. The truck was clean when I got it, everything in it worked and it was a smooth ride. The second vehicle was a van, I dont remember the make/model/year, but it was super easy to drive! The last one was a 2019 Ford Explorer (only had 7500 miles on it!!!) and my gosh that was an awesome ride. The vehicle had all the bells and whistles, got super great gas mileage (drove from Johnson City to Gallatin on 1, yes just 1, tank of gas!) The ride was smooth, and very comfortable. It even had enough room for all of us to ride comfortably with luggage/Christmas gifts!I highly recommend using this particular branch of Enterprise if you want to get treated right! I would give this business 10 stars if I could.
