Extremely satisfied. Purchased new tires and had them installed. They did an excellent job, come to find out I had 4 wheels bent. Steve gave me a detailed report and recommendations. Got me in on short notice and had my car back in no time same day! Tiffany had excellent follow up on questions I had and reached out to me as soon as my car was complete. I will be back!

Steve, Tiffany, and the whole team are as honest, reliable, and knowledgeable as anyone in the area. Steve always breaks down services needed immediately and what service will be needed in the near and distant future. He is honest so he will not recommend unneeded services. Steves prices are more than fair, but auto repair in general can get expensive. So Steve has helped me space out needed repairs, doing the most crucial things first and working your way towards the minor repairs. This helps especially when you are on a budget. I would recommend Stanleys Auto Repair to anyone who wants their repairs done right and at a fair price.

I have been a customer of Stanleys for at least 3 years. I started with my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. My ex-husband, who normally handled the maintenance decided to just ignore all the cars. Steve and his staff did an excellent job getting my Jeep back up to safe and working condition. From that time on, Steve has handled every one of my current cars.In a fit guilt, my ex who was moving out of the country, quickly purchased a used car for our teen daughter without so much as investigating the condition of the car. He was more interested in getting rid of his truck than making sure his daughter was in a safe vehicle.Steve did a complete and exhaustive inspection for me to find out that the car despite being five years old, was literally run to the ground by the previous owner. The brakes were shot, the shocks were shot and worse, the front tie rods were loose and partially broken, but the ball joints were the critical issue as they were swinging free when the car was up on the rack. I didnt have to take his word on it, I saw for myself as Steve walked me back and showed me. He was horrified that my daughter might have been driving this to school and that anyone driving it could have been killed. By then my ex was completely on the opposite side of the world.I made Carl Gregory pay for the ball joints and the flat bed tow, my ex pay for the most serious repairs so she could drive the car safely and Im still repairing the less serious things as I can.Sure you might pay less at another place, but I dont know many places that would treat you like you are their own.As far as pricing goes, I do check the prices quoted. When replacing her two worse tires, the price fit right in line at Tire Barn with the price Steve had given me for the whole set. I had Steve replace just two at this time and he did it for the same amount quoted by Tire Barn. I have had tires replaced and repaired at Sears as well for my son, and the price was right in line with Steves. The only reason I let Sears do it was because it was on a Sunday and Sears was open with my son needing to leave to go back to college the next day.I use BG products in my oil changes and yes, it is more expensive then Jiffy Lube, but I do in fact get better gas mileage with my Hyundai and I can go farther between oil changes.Steve is quick to let me know if I should be taking my car to the dealership because they will do the work for free or less. For routine work though I trust Steve, and after dealing with that one local dealership that still says, if it was drive-able off the lot than it was okay about my daughters car, I would be far more hesitant to put any faith in a dealership mechanic. Yeah Carl Gregory Im looking at you.I guess my attitude about things is, if you can do it yourself, then do so. If you cant, then take it to someone that can and if you arent sure you are getting the best deal, shop around for quotes. It doesnt mean that the higher quote is unethical or gouging, it just means someone else is willing to take less to get the work. If you trust that place use them. If you dont - find someone that you do.I personally trust Steve, he is worth every penny to me because I know he will get the job done, and it will be right.

Took my car in because it had a bad rattle . Had it checked and was told I needed power steering rack and pinion tie rods and new wheel. Its an older car and wasnt sure about spending a lot of money for repairs but I decided to get repairs . So got my car back with all the new parts and the same loud rattle . I took it back and paid for another analysis. I was told all the new part were fine but I needed new struts . That was causing the rattle . The cost for that would be $ 900 dollars. So I just paid them one thousand and six hundred dollars and now they tell me the struts were causing the rattle . Well before trading it I decided to let someone else check it . And Im sure glad I did . He ask me who put the new parts on and then said all the bolts were loose . He tightened everything up and I did not need new struts . Only cost $67.89 . Its been several weeks and car is running perfect and has NO rattle . I think thats probably all I needed in the first place . Just to have the bolts tightened up on the original parts .

I wanna say a quick thank you to Steven Stanley, Tiffany Stanley, and the staff over there at Stanleys Auto. Twice in the last two weeks I have had to have my van checked out and both times not only did they get me in when it was convenient for me, but they had the work completed when promised, and I couldnt have asked for a better experience. If you know me you know how hard it is for me to trust anyone to work on my stuff, especially if I cant be right there to watch them, but I have absolutely no problem giving my keys to them and leaving. If you need some automotive work done in Johnson City, give them a call and check them out. I know theyll treat you right.

Very good mechanics if you can afford them. Excellent work on my Ford. Very nice staff and timely repairs. Only bad thing is that they will charge normal labor plus they will charge full price for parts. If you go to an auto parts store, you will see the full price and then what they really charge, which is often half the list price. Had some universal joints put on that I didnt have time to do myself. Didnt mind the $35 labor, but I did get upset about the $120 charge for 2 u-joints that really cost $40 plus tax. I had even taken the drive shaft off for them to repair. Essentially they made $115 for under 30 minutes of work. Not a bad payday if you can get it.

Follow up from first review . Same problem same noise every time I took car in . I was very familiar with that noise as much as I heard it . Loud rattle at low speed while turning steering wheel . Noise went away with speed . Never did I say noise got worse with speed. Took car for another opinion . 6/22/17 checked vehicle for noise when turning steering wheel and found rack bolts loose and rack support going to frame loose . Tightened rack bolts and rack support bracket . Noise is gone . That is what paperwork from other mechanic said word for word . And the noise is gone. Something was going to fall out if I didnt get it fixed. But it is fine now . If they had just tightened bolts up when I brought the car back the second time there would have not been a problem ..

Not very helpful in understanding what the problem was with my car, and they quoted me a hefty price without telling me that the repair was really not necessary to have done. I prefer auto repair places that want to help the customer. Went to Advance the day after I came here where they told me why my engine light was on (without charging me $80) and that the repair in order to get the light to turn off wasnt necessary since it was just being triggered every now and then.

If you could leave less than a 1 star I would. We went in there only because my girlfriends car was having a small issue. He runs a diagnostic on it in like 5 minutes and comes back and charges us 103 dollars for the total visit and $89 was for his labor. He took advantage of her not knowing what was going on and told us it was our wiring was the problem trying to get us to buy all new wires when one wire had came unclipped but his $89 dollar labor must have missed that. Terrible place. Would rather push my car home then go there.

I recently had my Honda in his shop for a starter replacement. When I picked up my car they told me I would need new calipers, wheel bearings and my rear brake lines were leaking and would need to be replaced soon. Good thing I got a second opinion! Took my car to Freeservice they gave it a thorough inspection and I only needed rotors and brake pads!! Beware of STANLEYS !!!!!
