We have had our child at Baby & Kiddie Galileo for over a year now, starting at 6 months of age, and we have been very pleased with the caretakers and environment that they provide. The staff are professional, warm, and friendly with the children, and our child always likes to give them hugs in the morning at drop-off, and enjoys the selection of toys and activities. The program overall seems very well organized. We have had a great experience with both the infant classroom and the toddler classroom environments. The caretakers/teachers are the part that we appreciate the most!

My daughter attended Baby Galileo and Kiddie Galileo until she was 3 years old. Some caregivers were very attentive, while others were very careless. One caregiver who was supposed to teach Art at Kiddle Galileo left a large pointy scissors laying around 2 year olds. When I picked up my daughter, she was holding the scissors pointed toward herself. I took the scissors from her and placed it on a shelf - out of childrens reach. The caregiver saw me do it and did not say anything. I considered telling the (very difficult) director, but was concerned about how my child would be treated if I did. Also, the director told me that they would not administer an epipen if my child had a severe allergic reaction. How do you run a daycare where children have major allergies and refuse to train and administer life saving medicine in an emergency? My child was always vomiting and sent home for being sick. I found out they were giving the children fish sticks - which my child is allergic to!For these reasons, Galileo was not safe for my child and I am so glad she is not in their care anymore.

I know this review is somewhat long but if you are considering this daycare, I ask that you take the time to read the review in full.First, I would urge anyone who is considering this daycare to proceed with caution. I would urge you to read the reviews with the lowest stars on Yelp, because even though there arent many,I would ask that you consider taking them seriously because they most closely relate to my experience. I would also ask that anyone who has had a serious issue with the director/owner to please not be afraid to report her to the BBB or wherever possible. The more people who report unlawful practices, the higher the standards will be for businesses, particularly ones we are sending our children to.I will say, we have not sent my child to this daycare so this review does NOT reflect the care, professionalism or the abilities of the CAREGIVERS.After enrolling our child in the daycare, my husband and I decided it was not for us after discovering the director was untruthful about an offer. We take this seriously for the simple fact that we are entrusting strangers with our child. We believe if she had the nerve to lie to our faces with ease, who knows what else she will try to get away with. We asked to remove our child from the daycare promptly. We realized we would be losing the 100 dollar deposit, which was fine because we had prior knowledge of this. We also gave the director money for the first and last week and were expecting this to be returned to us. Instead of a refund, we continued to receive e-mails and calls regarding our daughters attendance. When we asked for our refund, the director told us we are not entitled to one because there policy is to withdraw the child within 30 days of their start date. I gave them more than 30 days notice, plus I do not believe I signed a statement acknowledging this. I have asked the director to send all the paperwork that my husband and I signed but the director refused to acknowledge my request. The directory sent me a statement listing their 30- day policy, but it was not signed by me or my husband and again, ignored my e-mail requests for documents signed by us. We were told that we would only receive a check for one weeks refund and that is exactly what we got. We believe we are entitled to a full refund for the first and final week. I have my reasons for being persistent and one of them is I do not want this to happen to other parents. I also want businesses to take responsibility for their claims and not take advantage of their customers. I see this happen way too often. As for the director, I cannot tell you why she would hold on to a full week of money that is not hers to keep.If you do decide to go to this daycare, please get everything the director says in writing.

Our son has been at Baby Galileo since 3 mo. The caregivers are very attentive, and gentle with the babies. Have felt very comfortable leaving him with them. The location is very convenient for the path train, and the price is very reasonable. A great option for downtown JC.

My daughter has been attending this daycare since she was 4 months old. She is 3 year old now and graduating from Kiddie Galileo this September. Here is the summary of my 3 years of experience. The caregivers/teachers are great...extremely nice and polite. The director stays on top of everything. All classes in the center (both locations) maintain cleanliness and hygiene. Once the child turns one, they involve him/her in painting and different types craft projects and learning activities. They take kids(2 year and above) to nearby park and on field trips. Its a decent place with a reasonable cost.

My daughter has been with Baby Galileo since shes about 5 months and shes been there for about 4 years. It was a great experience. I sincerely recommend Baby Galileo to Jersey City parents.Caregivers and teachers are the most precious value of Baby Galileo. They are really kind to kids and pay good attention to what kids need. Our daughter was cheered up and welcomed by all teachers, even by the ones who are not in her class. They clean desks and dishes after lunch or snack time. Classroom and toys are cleaned periodically, too. Kids there are happy and having fun. Teachers are happy from their heart when playing and singing with children. To me, it is very important that teachers can also enjoy their job.The schools director is really helpful. She responds to email requests and phone calls very quickly. Every year the school organizes field trips to farm and zoo. There are also library visits, water playing, and some other outdoor activities so the kids will really enjoy in their school hours.Safety is always the first issue when parents choosing daycare. Baby Galileo has secured door and sign in/out system. Security and safety rules were followed strictly. Though, same as all other places, accidents happen. My daughter experienced couple of small accidents during the last few years, such as baby bite, accidental fall, etc. Teachers normally gave kids first-aid help immediately, called us in time to communicate the condition, and they also wrote accidental reports with details. So far we are satisfied with how the accidents were taken care of.Last but not least, the tuition charge of Baby Galileo is probably the most reasonable one in Waterfront Jersey City. Locations of Baby Galileo are very nearby Grove Street Path station, which is quite convenient for parents who work in the city.

I have had a positive experience with Baby and Kiddie Galileo. My daughter has been there since she was 5 mths old and is leaving for Pre-K 3 this Fall. During the time shes been there, Ive been very pleased with the care shes been given, the milestones shes met, and staff. The staff did an excellent job potty training my daughter, she was fully trained before she was 2 1/2. I feel that my daughter is thriving at Kiddie Galileo, shes safe, happy, and well taken care of, and completely ready for PreK 3 this Fall. Although she does not always get it perfect (which I dont mind of course, Im just glad shes learning!), my daughter can count up to 20, knows her ABCs, can write her name, etc. She even told me the Pledge of Allegiance a few days ago. I think they did a great job!!! And the price is right, you really cant beat it for downtown Jersey City.
