This is definitely one of the top feel good family destinations in Jacksonville! Situated in a spacious and well preserved historic building, Sweet Petes is a three floor wonderland of all things candy and chocolate. The cafe has a good variety of well prepared quality lunch items as well with an AMAZING variety of custom bottled sodas to choose from. The Halloween decorations we saw on our visit were diverse and excellently set up. The only draw back was the extremely high prices for the candy items. The cafe prices were more reasonable. Overall, it was a great experience and well worth the effort to visit.

This place is great. Lots and lots of candy, and a huge selection of flavored and unique sodas. Even a large selection of older candy that I didnt know they even made anymore. They have a cafe on the second floor with lots of unique ice cream flavors & creations, and some basic lunch offerings. The employees we encountered working in the cafe area were EXCEPTIONAL. They were very polite and friendly, and had a level of customer service that was better than I have received in some restaurants.

Great place to take children for ice cream or a little sweet treat they even have a restaurant. The decorations and the atmosphere really make this place shine. All of the employees when we went to visit today were very polite and cheerful. I recommend going during the week when its not so busy so you can Get the chance to take it all in. They actually had the 3rd floor open this tibeen this time so you could see the candy makers working their magic. My daughter had a wonderful time.

Enjoyed this day trip to Sweet Pete’s. It’s walking distance from James Weldon Park.A great blast from the past. They sold many of my favorite childhood sweets. The building is brightly colored and welcoming. The staff was very helpful in assisting us with getting around the three story facility. They informed us about the restaurant opening in July 2021 and the candy classes that they hold. We stopped by the second floor I’ve cream parlor for a treat before grabbing some candy and heading out.

Ok. If your new to Jacksonville or just a local you will enjoy this place. Old historic house turned into the largest candy store in North Florida maybe even the state? They have pretty much everything you can think of. Employees are great hosts and the area is safe. They even have classes where you can make your own candy.

My first time here in a remarkable wedding celebration of two individuals who was created for one another. One of the neatest things about this establishment is them having this machine to elevate you without having to carry them up or downstairs. Plus they have much sweets you can purchase if you have a sweet tooth for something sweet. They earn five stars from me

Whimsical place with great chocolate and other goodies. I always get my favorite, sea salt caramels. I dont live or work downtown anymore, but try to stop by when I am in the area. Great selection of pay-by-weight confectionery goodies in the case on the first floor. Prices are very fair for the great quality, but you can easily rack up a big tab if you get too excited by the options.

Pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity of the food items at the restaurant addition on the bottom floor. If you have never heard of Sweet Petes, honestly,You DONT know what youre missing! Its a very unique candy shop located in downtown Jacksonville. Sweet Petes is more of a candy Experience, than it is a candy store. Their are tours you can take which I took today which is called the chocoholic Tour which was nothing short of AMAZING! They also offer a wonderful array of candy making classes you can do with your loved ones, or friends 😉. I cant say enough about Sweet Petes. This is a tradition with my family. And I hope that YOU can make it to Sweet Petes and create new traditions with your family. Happy Holidays. 🎄🍭🍬🍫🧁

Really cool candy store in Jacksonville. Lots to choose from. They even have some old school candy from back in the day. They have an ice cream parlor upstairs and there are two areas where you can see the workers making candy through large windows. I felt it was a little over priced but I guess because a lot of it is made in house. Good place to visit though. Oh and dont forget to check out the golden ticket.

Forget the candy, you can get the best candy here. It’s fun for the entire family including us adults. The restaurant has delicious food as well. Let’s talk about the manager who just brought out candy to an elderly man and his wife. They were on their way to get candy for their anniversary when the gentleman collapsed on the sidewalk. I called 911. As he was leaving in the ambulance, the manager brought them some candy to take in the ambulance. God bless her and thank you for being amazing.

The dining facilities are fanciful & whimsical and the food is delicious. We had a beautiful day so we were able to take advantage of the outdoor amenities as well. This is an unexpected Jacksonville treasure - the building & decorations are over-the-top! So happy that Sweet Petes has made it so far from their humble beginnings. If youre lucky, you might get to see Pete making his magical candies & mesmerizing onlookers! You can tell this place takes pride in what they do. I’m sure anything they make is going to be delicious. The shop is really a destination. Took a tour here on Mothers day, it was absolutely great. A fun visit for the family. Plenty of candy to choose from and Ice cream parlor. Everyone wore masks, a few didnt so I assume they dont enforce that rule, it just rude grown adult do that in a public establishment. You were given gloves to use for getting the candy you wanted which was nice. The bathroom could have used cleaning, did not see toilet paper in there. Also the outside seating areas I felt should have been cleaned after each customer use, but thats my opinion. Overall I would definitely visit again and recommend. It was definitely decorated well and each level and section had a different theme of sorts which was nice. The mint milkshake I had was really good although the whipped cream was fairly bland and each topping was an additional dollar (fairly pricey) so I opted to not have any. I found it a little odd that for a 3 story establishment the ground floor was predominantly a gift shop with no food (not including the attached restaurant thats not directly influenced by Sweet Petes even though its owned by the same people), and the top floor appeared to mostly be toys and other children-centric items rather than actual food. The staff were pleasant and the woman working in the ice cream section kept using puns like there was no tomorrow (which I personally enjoyed). Overall I think its worth a visit if youre passing through but its easy to go over budget if youre not careful and it might be more worth your while if youve got kids to buy for rather than just adults.
