I have been to this store 2x recently and the staff has been so amazing. Melanie is so friendly and helpful! One of the music teachers had a student running a little late so he took the time to talk to my daughter about how to put her clarinet together and how to properly care for it. I will definitely recommend Music Time to anyone looking to buy/rent instruments or get music lessons!

Last year my daughter started band at Mayport Middle, I had to find a Clarinet and fast. Unfortunately Music time was the only business that rented instruments to my daughters school (being that they were off Dunn Ave when I went to them which is far for me). However the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, my daughter had a wonderful Yamaha Clarinet and it sounded amazing. She did duets, and played with the band and to my surprise took very good care of the instrument. It was a very solid sounding and well put together clarinet. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of an instrument be it beginning or advanced players.

Excellent music studio and amazing staff. We have been using this studio for 4 years and my daughter has progressed from novice to Georgia All-State and is a member of the Jacksonville Youth Symphony Orchestra. Her instructor, Don, has helped develop her into an amazing musician. I definitely recommend Music Time to anyone looking for music lessons from beginner to advanced.

Ive been bringing my children to Music Time for almost 9 years now and I cant say enough good things about the staff and instructors. My children are not the easiest and though weve rotated through instructors due to scheduling issues on our part, they have all been fantastic in the effort and patience they put in to teaching my children. The office staff, in particular Melanie, have worked hard with me around my schedule, I work nights, to arrange new times when instructors have moved, new days when schooltimes changed, and schedule make up classes for missed lessons. I appreciate texts rather than phone calls while Im sleeping!! Thank you for all you do guys.

Omg I love it here staff is amazing and they are welling to work with you as of art of music wanted to rip my head off with a $1600 security deposit. I really recommend this place youll be happy if you do.

Went to go buy a new flute for a starting student, and they said to buy new it would be $299. I asked about monthly payment options for a new flute for them to come back and say the value was $1000, and it wasn’t even a new flute. Won’t be heading back after they kept insisting it was a new flute even though it was obviously used. With the diseases going around I don’t want them to get a diseased from a used instrument, or one they may be faulty from age.

I have two children that have been attending for 6+ years. Awesome staff with very knowledgeable instructors. Positive family atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

Bought a used trombone here, that not only worked well but the monthly payments have been easy to pay. Staff have always been so nice.

Dropped my daughters saxophone off and was told that it would be $15.00 or we would receive a phone call with an estimate. Never recvd a call do my 13 year old daughter called them. They told her it would be $95.00 for the repair.I got them on the line. Only to speak with a rude employee named Melanie...who hung up in my face while I was trying to get clarity on why nobody called as promised. Have dealt with Music time on many occasions. This is the first BAD experience Ive had. I wonder how many other people MELANIE has treated rudely.You are in business because the customer keeps you there!

Music Time is a wonderful local business that caters to school students in the Duval county area. The staff is friendly and welcoming; the environment is laid back, yet professional. Their instructors are highly skilled and very talented in the realm of music education. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of music supplies or lessons.

My son (Xavier) has been taking music lessons here ever since he was five years old, he will be thirteen this July. They have taught him to play a variety of instruments over the years (drums, guitar, clarinet, violin, and piano). The staff here is very professional and will go out their way to get the schedule you want and always remain proactive in communicating with you when an extra slot becomes available to receive additional lessons. The prices are the best around town especially for the great services they provide. They (Music Time staff) have become part of our extended family over the years in watching my son grow not only as a musician but also as a person. They have assisted him in preparing for recitals, auditions in not only school but the city youth orchestra (JSYO) as well. This summer 2016 my son will be playing in chamber (violin and upright bass) as well as the top piano class while at La Villa, and auditioning for repertoire with JSYO. My son loves music but none of this would have been feasible if it was for the professional and personal relationship we have had with the wonderful staff at music time. Thanks music time for being with us every step of this musical journey.

Music time has a LIMITED outdated cheap quality over priced stock. As a professional musician who has done very well with music I try to give back to my community and shop at the local places to keep things going for future generations. Ive shopped at MT since 2000 and I always get trouble when I do end up trying to get something from them. I play over 30 different instruments on an advanced level and own way more than that, so I know a thing or two. Ive bought from music stores all over the world and NEVER encountered a store as unprofessional and crooked as Music Time Their selection is not much so they offer to order things from this catalog for you, but they want half the money or more upfront. They call a few days later (this has happened more than once to me by Music Time) and say that product is discontinued or we dont deal with that vendor anymore. Instead of giving you your money back they FORCE store credit on you so you are FORCED to buy their overpriced outdated knock off products. I hate to talk so poorly about the closest music store to where I grew up, but all you northsiders and people from Nassau.. Drive the extra distance to Georges,Guitar Center, Promusic, Kevins or Chips music.. Ive got 20 HARD years musical experience and Im from Jax so I know what Im talking about. It will be worth the extra time and gas so you dont get taken advantage of.. There is NOTHING at music time worth wasting the time to stop by from the parking to the products to the scams run by their staff... Its a place where beginners go to get taken advantage of and a place where professionals dread going even if its an absolute emergency. Maybe they should be more honest and they would do better and not have to FORCE people to shop there.
