First off do not listen to Wans review as most of it is not accurate. Mayfield retired as a Sergeant Major, NOT a sergeant so give respect where its due. Secondly who says ex marine especially in Jacksonville. Ive had the pleasure to train along Sergeant Major Mayfield at wounded warriors battalion before I medically retired. I enjoyed my time learning Judo and would go back if I could. Him and his wife are very professional and kind hearted. He is stern when teaching as most masters are. Overall Mayfields Martial Arts is a great place to learn something new. I would recommend this place to anyone
Terrible place...the head instructor is very vulgar and disrespectful. He and his wife scream at the children alot, and are very unprofessional.Their behavior is very abusive and the kids soon hate going there to practice.Lots of turnover;for a place that has been in business for over 10 years, most of the time less that 4 students in the class,no adults....the head ex marine sergeant runs everyone off when he goes on his periodic benders.Talks alot about killing people in Vietnam...must be off his meds.AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
