So unprofessional. They have 5 pairs of very expensive shoes and I can’t get them back because although they said they would be ready Friday they haven’t been in the shop for me to pick them up. There are handwritten signs occasionally day to day and sometimes nothing just all closed up. No one answers the phone. I used this place before and the service was good. I will never use them again once I can rescue my shoes.

Chris is a stand-up guy and great craftsman. Im working overseas, and its hard to find cobblers that do the same quality of work at a reasonable price. He took on a project and did a superb job. Moreover, he communicated with me all the way through. I cannot stress enough how appreciative I am for having a person work so hard to achieve my vision.

Its nice to still have a shoe repair shop in the community to go to. Support small businesses. Those old shoes still have a few more miles to go.

SOLD MY RED BOTTOMS ! no communication AT ALL . Said he would call us when he was finish REPAIRING. EACH TIME WE WENT TO THE SHOP TO CHECK ON THE HEELS . HE WOULD SAY THEY ARE IN STORAGE . Went there twice Friday, Saturday morning and Monday at lunch - new hours are posted but nobody is in the shop. Took my business elsewhere and do not think I come back.

The hours of operation that are posted are NOT accurate; apparently they are open whenever they feel like it. Went in on Saturday at 12pm only to find a locked door (for the second time), but this time I found a note on the door from yet another customer stating this is her 5th time stopping by and they are closed!!! This is unacceptable. You are holding people’s property and should be open during advertised hours. Also, if you don’t pick up your shoes within 30 days they are “not responsible” for them, but then keep their doors locked when people actually want to pick up their shoes. After this, you will not get my business again.

Saw the quality of his work on anothers shoes. Jacksonville is a big city and im sure there actually competent cobblers available, thus, allowing you to avoid this business. Just read the other reviews. This isnt a business person that accepts responsibility for unhappy customers and tries to resolve problems, he just calls them liars. Great way to run a business.

On day of pick up I requested a few tacks be added beneath the insole to help secure boot to sole. Apparently glue has tendency to break down if you keep boots in a box without air circulation.Cost is subjective as this seems to be a mom and pop store. Dont like the cost, find another shoe store to compare prices.My fam has been happy with service on our shoes and boots for last several years.

I had to go to Jacksonville for business and came across this shop via google. I had a pair of Aldens that were in horrible shape and the heels were in horrible shape and the left shoe had a small hole in the sole. I meet the cobbler Chris and he seems like an outstanding guy with a lot of knowledge. I ended up getting JR full soles and four days later when I returned my Aldens looked as new as the day I bought them 8 years ago. I will now be using his mail in service and highly recommend this place!!

My shoes were supposed to be done Monday. I dropped them off Wednesday dec 9 it’s now the 17th they were supposed to be done mon dec 14. Brought in a pair of Johnston & Murphy work shoes that I had almost destroyed. one of my favorite pairs where I had worn the leather out in the back of the heels as well as not taken care of the tops and so they looked worn and unprofessional.The job that theyve done here is amazing. Brand new leather throughout the back of heels are the shoes and polished and shined them up, they look almost brand-new.I cant thank them enough for the wonderful job they did, timely and for a very fair price

Chris the owner did a super job both repairing and dyeing a pair of sandals for my wife. They were as good as the day she got them when she got them back. He was both professional and did what he promised at a competitive price. I have used this repair shop several times. I am very pleased every time I pick up my shoes. Not only have they been repaired in a timely manner but were cleaned to their original beauty. I had footprints on the footbeds of my sandals and they were treated and cleaned at no extra charge. He definitely cares about his work. 👠 👞

Worst place ever, terrible, terrible job, ruin my shoes. When I complain and ask him to fix it again because I already payed for it, he started mocking me and yelled at me to get out of the store. This was my second time coming to pick up the same pair of shoes and still wasnt properly done. Some part of the shoe still needed to be glue and when I pointed it out at him, he had the nerve to tell me that I must have pulled it and messed it up. He also ruined another pair of shoes. Out of the four pairs I brought to him one was ruined and the other three poorly doneI fear for my safety for the way he was treating me, I was very scared. I did not get my boots back yet so I cannot give a review of the actual workmanship. However, when I left my boots the young man was very nice and lowered the price by $1.00 which he didnt have to do. I have had shoes repaired there before and never had a problem.

I took in a pair of Allan Edmonds that were in great shape but the soles were worn through. They were returned as promised and reflected superb workmanship and craftsmanship. I have worn them to work for a couple of weeks now and they are great. I would definitely go back with my future work.

Took 3 pairs of boots to them.....none of which were right when returned. They put the soles they wanted on one pair, not anything like what was on them. The other 2 pair had poor poor quality workmanship on the repairs. Overall experience was very unsatisfying.In response to your response: your company put the sole you wanted to on the boots, not the one I asked for, two different times!! The other 2 pairs of boots had to be left after the original repair as they had poor quality repair and glue all over them. I have since, on 5/25/19, picked up all my boots and none of them are correct!! I have had to take them to a different shoe repair store to correct all of your mistakes that you continued to make, multiple times. Not to mention you are not even aware that I have picked my items from you!! Best wishes and good luck with future customers.

I have dealt with them twice. The first time was great and quick. This most recent time, they had my shoes for two weeks and when I came to pick them up, they were covered in glue. The guy gave me the shoes and didnt even care to look them over before giving them to me. It was when I said that the glue in places that didnt even need fixed, was unacceptable. He took them back and said he will get the glue off and they would be ready by the next day. I came to pick them up 4 days later. Made a 45 minute trip to pick them up to find out they still were not even ready. Not even touched! I was very upset and the guy said he will try to fix them in the next hour or two! I will never use them again. Ever. My two favorite pair of heels, a simple fix and now Im not sure they can fix what they damaged! And I wont get a refund!

While visiting family in Jacksonville, my purse strap broke on my favorite purse. If it wasnt such an expensive purse I would have just tossed it but the repair price was very reasonable and when they finished you couldnt even tell it had broke! My overall experience was great and the staff were all very helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them!

I found this place easily with google maps and as soon as I walked in, I could tell this place was legit. It smells like shoes and hard work. I showed the gentleman my shoes and he fixed them on the spot, it only took about 10 minutes. It was inexpensive and my shoes look like new! Ill definitely be back.

BEWARE!!!!All I can really say to describe my experience here is wow. I have never experienced such poor workmanship along with what could be called the worst customer service I have ever received.My story in short was I thought I’d give this place a try. I needed a half sole replacement and new rubber heels on a pair of men’s dress shoes. I dropped them off and was told it would be one week. No problem, I was okay with waiting to have good work done.The first problem arose when I came to pick them up after a week (after 12pm like I was instructed) and was given attitude that they’re not ready and why was I rushing them from the owner. I waited patiently as he threw them on the shine machine and did a less than stellar rushed job, but whatever I got my shoes back. They didn’t look fantastic, but they were fixed.That was until about 3 months later when the sole separated where it was spliced together. It took me a few weeks but I made my way back into the shop to show them the shoes and ask that they repair. Once again I was told it will be a week and regardless of the poor job previously I had to wait my turn and couldn’t be put in front of other customers. Okay, that’s fine let’s just get them fixed.I came today to pick them up, after 12 of course and they were given to me by what I believe was the shop assistant. As I took them, thanked him and began to walk away he called out to say “By the way we looked at our records and it was 4 months ago not 3 and will didn’t do the work on your soles just your heels”. Alright, seriously? I apologize I was off by a few weeks on my estimation, I didn’t keep detailed records on something I didn’t think would need to be fixed again so soon. I told him they did do the repair on the soles, they were the only place I had taken the shoes to for repair and he said no it must have been another shop.At this time the owner peaks around from the back and I started to explain to him when I realized he was only coming around to get confrontational. I said, never mind it didn’t matter because they didn’t have to worry about me coming back and like a true mature classy business owner he began yelling at me telling me they didn’t want me back.I am here to honor his wishes. I will not be returning and I will be telling as many people as I know they shouldn’t go there either if they need any shoe repair. Judging by the reviews of others I’m not the first one to realize this place isn’t worth the trouble.

Ive not had any work done but did go to buy polishing supplies. I found them to be informative, professional & patient. Chris took the time to explain the differences in polishes and waxes. Was able to get a nice set of brushes, brush daubers, polishes & cloth buffers at great prices way cheaper & better quality than anything I searched online. Im about to take a pair of leather Vince Camuto boots in that the sole came apart on and have them repair them.

Picked up my favorite pair of wedges today! So glad to have them fixed! Only place I take my heels. Staff is always friendly, Ive had turn around as little as 3 days but never over a week and location is super convenient, right next to Publix.

Only giving one star because you can’t leave zero stars. Rude and condescending owner. Destroyed 1 pair of my favorite shoes and refused to issue a refund and never followed up with me as promised- I paid a lot of money to get them fixed and if I knew I probably could have gotten a pair of really nice shoes instead. Never cleaned one pair but I lied it looks fine just so they don’t get any worse and so that I can get my shoes back because they were pricey. If the job is too big it’s ok to refuse it instead of taking the shoes and butchering them and then yelling at me at the store that they weren’t fixed by you and getting poor attitude. It’s your business, you are ultimately responsible for every shoe that is being dropped off at your facility. Horrible customer service. My flaw here is that I never took before and after photos for a tangible proof. Now I’m left without the shoes or without the money I paid to have them fixed .

I took a pair of bedroom slippers to be sewn up on the sides. It was nothing else wrong with them. When I picked them up, one of them had a spot on it. The guy who waited on me was also the owner. He was very rude and had a bad attitude. Didnt apologize or anything. Very poor customer service.

Hands down, the best shoe repair shop I have ever found. A1 showed up in a Google search for shoe repair close to my job, so I took in a pair of broken heels as a matter of convenience, and now based on my experience, I will be bringing them all of my future repairs.These heels were worn down to the metal nub, and there were tears and scratches in the leather on the back of the heels. I thought they were at the point of no return, and yet the cobbler was able to make it look like the damage never even happened! The price was very reasonable, and they fixed it overnight! They explained the process to me, and I still believe it was magic! :) Friendly staff, quality workmanship, and quick turn around! Highly recommended for when you need a fast, reliable repair on your favorite shoes!

The guy that work there was very unprofessional he didn’t fix my shoes properly as he was paid to do so he also did my friends shoe and gave him the run around with an attitude. Wouldn’t spend or recommend anyone to spend a dime for his work.

I have been going to A1 Shoe Repair for many years now. They are always friendly and helpful with regard to getting me what I need on my business shoes...shines, new heels, sols, laces, etc. Not many places these days you can count on for these services with positive customer service.

The owner is a liar and runs a poor business. Save yourself the time and hassle.. Take your hard earned money to one of the other dozen shops in town.

Delivered on time as promised. Replaced soles on a pair of Cole Haan shoes. They are good as new.

Hard worker and uses awesome products

Ive used them in the past with no problem but my most recent experience was the absolute worst. I have no problem with the guy Chris but he acted like I owed him money from high school. Lol. . He sold me on a cleaning proceedure, we agreed on a price and I subsequently left my shoes. I Came back a couple weeks later and all I got was excuses and a combative attitude. He claimed that he could not do what he professed with the sole and he attempted to return the shoes undone and dirty, with residue all over them. I asked if he was going to clean the upper and he agreed for the second time. 3 weeks later. ..I came back. .. he returned the shoes with nothing done and he acted like it was ok... (to completely disregard a customers request and waste his valuable time)... oh well, I guess this is the moment to move on. Thanks for nothing Bro... regretfully, I vote zero stars. Terrible service.

The worst shoe repair I have ever been too in my life. I took 3 pairs of shoes there and they returned 2 pair in worse condition then before. They just tore the shoes apart. I dont understand it. I paid 27.33 got a discount because I liked them on FB but I swear I have never experience something like this in my life. I dont know if they forgot to repair my shoes IDK.... I wouldnt recommend them a waste of money.

Ive had the worst experience here! At first they told me that they had shipped my shoes off to get fixed because they couldnt fix them and kept giving me the run around! Today they finally told the truth which was they had thrown my shoes in the trash because they could not fix them! Time after time they lied to my face knowing they threw my shoes in the trash!
