Ive had two dresses (both for weddings) altered here and they did great! The seamstress was very nice and did exactly what I wanted. They were both done by the due dates I needed.

The first time I went here I waited outside for 15 minutes after they had “opened” yet no one was there at the time indicated on their door that they were open. So I left. I ended up going back and giving them my clothing to alter. They had my order for 11 days. When I went to pick it up on the date that the owner wrote on my slip he said that they never touched it because the seamstress decided that she didn’t want to do it!!!!!!!! Really?????? Mind you, I had been in there twice since I dropped it off to make sure they didn’t have any questions. I was in the day before it was to be picked up and the owner gave me a thumbs up and said they were right on track. Please save yourself the stress and do not go here. The customer picking up right in front of me didn’t get her order either because the owner had written the wrong date down. And she was leaving out of town. He had no sympathy for either of us. Please please do not go here.

Good price, and service

I went in and asked if they could see some patches on my motorcycle vest. I wanted them to open up the liner to save the inside pockets, not sew over the pockets. They said they were unable to do it, as in not possible. I took it home, opened up the liner, sewed my patches on, and closed up the liner. And Im not a professional sewer. If the business cant do what I did,, they should be in a differentProfession.

I had the most important piece of clothing you could ever own (my wedding dress) altered here and honestly I couldnt be happier with their service! Their prices are AMAZING! And even after I gained weight and my dress didnt zip (mental breakdown in the making) the seamstress immediately jumped on it and put a corset in my dress! She does awesome work and I highly recommend them!

Very friendly staff; however, they altered four of my shirts so small that they no longer fit. I asked to have the back tapered in and the sleeves shortened. While they successfully tapered the back, they ended up decreasing the diameter of my sleeves to the point that my arms barely fit inside. After three weeks and two attempts to restore my shirts, they still remain to small. Hopefully another alterations shop will be able fix my shirts or else they will be a lost cause. I would not recommended them beyond getting a pair of stripes sewn on your uniform.

The lady here cut probably 3ft off my wedding dress and it looked absolutely amazing!!

I have to give 2 stars simply because she does outstanding work. The problem is that she does what she wants to do rather than what is asked. I took my dress here to get altered for my sons wedding. She told me I would need additional material in order to do what I wanted so I went all over to find some. I then took it back for a second time. I had initially been told by the older man that works there that it would be 1 week to be completed. I knew that I had a tall order but they came highly recommended by a friend. I wanted the dress to be converted to an empire waist dress which I showed her the first time (even took a picture as an example). When I took it back with material in hand, she asked for a picture and I found the picture again and showed it and explained repeatedly that I needed the empire waist, added length and the sleeves taken in. I specifically said it was life or death for my sons wedding. I was called again for the 3rd time to measure the length so that she could hem (5 days prior to the wedding) and when I went there was no empire waist. I was in tears at that point because it was too late to have it done elsewhere. I went back to pick it up that Thursday, figuring I could go and buy another dress and get it altered the way I wanted it later. When asked I said that she had done a fine job - no question - just not what I wanted. I am not sure if the older man cannot understand what I was saying but he just kept saying over and over again that it was pretty and I should wear it. I repeatedly tried to explain to him it was NOT what I wanted so why would I wear it. We went through that several times before my daughter-in-law finally told me I wasnt getting anywhere, he was not listening. He just kept telling me to wear it anyway?? I WOULD have gotten another dress had they not charged $200 (yes two hundred dollars) to add length and take up sleeves. She added slits to both sides of the shirt (which wouldnt have been necessary had it been made into an empire waist). I paid $100 for the dress and $200 for alterations. The ONLY reason I gave 2 stars is that she is a good seamstress and the hems were spot on and the beads were too. It wasnt a matter of her ability, it was a matter of not getting what I asked for and the older mans insensitivity on top of the OUTRAGEOUS charge. When I asked how much it would be when I took it in there all he said was that it was reasonable. Well paying twice what I paid for the dress in the first place doesnt seem to be reasonable to me. I think to hem items she would do a fabulous job. But i would get an estimate of charges up front.

This lady took over a foot off my wedding dress (skirt was 7 layers) for me and it turned out absolutely what i pictured! I couldnt belive how perfect it came out.

Said she was too busy to sew a Christmas sweater but I got the feeling she just didnt want to mess with it. Better if you buy, she said. verbatim

I highly recommend Hemmingway. They replaced a busted zipper on my favorite leather jacket. Im very happy with the results, and hopefully it will last another 10 years. :)

Close to base, very fast turn around, excellent customer service, military friendly, better than the alteration service on the installation in my opinion

This nice lady can do absolutely anything and do a outstanding job.

I was told my clothes would be ready in a week but when I tried to pick it up, he said they were overwhelmed & it wasnt ready. An hour later I get a call that it was done. She clearly rushed to do it because it wasnt done according to what we agreed. Now I have to find someone else to get it done in a short amount of time since I wasted it there. Never again!

Great work for cheap. Very nice people too.

Was a bit nervous about bringing in a formal dress for a last minute hem but it was completed in a matter of days! Vegas here i come!
