Bill Evens was contacted to complete window restoration for us. He took 4 windows and didnt complete the work after paying him almost $4k (50% deposit) he did not complete the project. He kept giving us excuses as to why he couldnt finish. Finally after almost a year I had to hire someone else to install new Windows. Do not use Bill Evans for any work you need done. If you search his name on Next door app you will find other victims.

He took my window for repair but never returned and left me with a temporary window that doesn’t match nor properly fit the opening. I haven’t seen him in 5 years!!!:/

**UPDATE** 8/21/21: Bill Evans, as he states in his response below, informed me that he would refund $3k over a term of 18 months at a minimum of $50/monthly and he did in fact drop a $50 check off at our house. We are not in acceptance of that payment plan for obvious reasons. **Original Post**: This is a warning to be very cautious of employing Bill Evans of The Avondale Window Restoration Company. My wife and I did not do our due diligence in vetting him before hiring him, and at the time we were also novices at working with contractors. He severely lied about the time it would take to complete the job (he said it would take 4-6 weeks and at the 8 week mark he had done minimal work) and he took 50% of the money up front (yes, we know you DONT do this). He only worked 4-5 days on our project over the course of 8 weeks and was seemingly unable to stay focused when working (he took frequent breaks to his van, to get coffee, to go back to his shop, etc. etc.). After 8 weeks of dealing with his continual lies of how long it would take him to complete the work, with minimal work completed over those 8 weeks, we fired him and he owes us back $3200 with no commitment from him to refund us. Unfortunately, there are many other victims like us: search his name on the Next Door app and public records to hear countless stories like ours. Please be careful and inform your neighbors so this stops happening to others.

This man is simply incapable of finishing the job! DO NOT HIRE for any job.
