This insurance agent used to be the best. It fit me the best rates for my auto insurance when I came to Florida, and the best rates in home insurance when I bought a house. They were excellent at calling me when something changed it or to suggest better rates with other insurance companies.Then Charline (at this distance I cant remember her exact name) retired, and Ms. Maddox took over. JP Perry (JPP) went mute. I had to call when I saw my premiums skyrocketing, but she always looked for better options.Now I moved to Ohio and had was forced to rent out my house in Florida. When I made my change of address at JP Perry, Ms. Dagdag took my info and signed me up with Tower Hill (TH), no warnings, qualifications or caveats. Three months later I get a notice from JPP that TH is cancelling my policy in 3 weeks because my roof is too old (its 14 years old) and the house is vacant, with the option of replacing it to continue insurance before the 3 weeks are up.I start making calls and: the Ms. DagDag is evasive, I call TH. TH agents cant tell me the source. A supervisor eventually tells me TH sent a memo to JPP in February giving me 2 months to replace the roof. She treats me as a convicted criminal.In summary:JPP failed to disclose the restrictions in the policy.JPP failed to forward me the first notice.JPP forwarded the notice only after a week of receipt.The agent hid the existence of the first notice even after I spoke to her.JPP offered an alternative at twice the cost, which initially made me suspect fraud.In addition, while shopping outside JPP I found that they omitted coverage on the pool enclosure and other important items.I dont know if its because Ms. Starbuck is now running the agency and the owner is retired, but when I emailed her she responded condescendingly as if I hadnt done my homework.I know this is the only negative review here and would be easy to think I exaggerate. Just be aware, ask questions and review everything thoroughly, a house is you largest investment. Dont trust it to amateurs.Update: I ordered a new inspection only to make sure the roof in my property is as sound as it appears. The inspector determined that it had an expected life of 5 years left. I suspect now that the TH inspector never performed a proper inspection. Not that JPP wouldve cared.

The entire JP Perry organization is top shelf but the Ladies in Personal Lines are the best. Thank you JP Perry!
