From start to finish, they have beyond exceeded my expectations. As we all know, getting a new system installed can be a hefty investment into your home, and choosing the right company is a huge decision ... trust me these are your guys to put your worries at ease! From our first call to figure out what was wrong with my old system, through the installation of my new system, Thigpen was professional. Our salesperson was helpful and knowledgeable. He didn’t pressure us at all. He explained each option so that we could make an educated decision.The installers were fantastic! They also explained what they were going to do before they started, and they discussed the installation with us at every step. They were on time and believe it or not, never took a break all day until they were done! They were efficient and very clean, as well as respectful of our home.We highly recommend Thigpen! Our AC went out at 11pm on a Saturday of a holiday weekend. I reached out at 8am on a Sunday and after another company told us we had over $2000 in repairs or needed a new unit - Chris from Thigpen’s had us up and cooling in 45 minutes with minimal fees! I called Thigpen for a leaking unit, they answered quickly and were able to get a technician to our office on the same day. Paul Ruckman was very professional, quick and effective. He was able to get the job done quickly and provided me with a detailed description of the issue and how he resolved it. I would recommend giving them a call as this was the first time I did not have to wait hours or days for someone to answer the call nonetheless come to the office and have the issue resolved.

Luke was terrific. After waiting 5 days for McGowan to respond I contacted Thigpen. Customer Service and Dispatch were great, Luke was dispatched and came on time. He resolved my issue at 1/4 the cost that McGowan had quoted me. I definitely would give them 5 stars.

Paul Ruckman has been to our home twice this summer. The first time was to repair an air handler fan which stopped working after a thunderstorm. In this case, he came out the same-day I called, diagnosed the issue, left to pickup the part and installed the new fan by the end of the day. This was so appreciated, because I have a 13-year-old dog who was miserable in the heat...a priceless fix! The second visit was to install surge protectors on both the air handler and compressor. I feel so much better knowing the system has a line of defense in our Florida weather! Paul was extremely professional, shared valuable information about our system and gave suggestions for future maintenance. Top notch company; I wouldnt consider calling anyone else!

We had an AC emergency at 11pm on a Tuesday night right before we were to leave for vacation the next day. I called Thigpen Heating and Coolings emergency line, and they had a repair man at our house within the hour, and I was not even a customer of theirs at the time! Don was polite, responsive, and very knowledgeable. He was quickly able to figure out the problem and got it fixed for us, all before our prior AC company could ever call us back. We will be using Don and Thigpen Heating and Cooling from now on!

We used Thigpen for 17 years. They installed a Carrier Performance Series 11 years ago. In March 2021 I had a service call as my unit was not cooling. The technician Luke came out and when he started to look for a leak as I had no Freon he exploded my unit and blamed it on rust but I think he used to much nitrogen. He then wanted 89.00 for damaging my unit and he was going to leave me with a broken unit. I complained and he said the sales person would call me as I needed a new air conditioner as it could not be fixed. The salesman Steve called and came out and also said I needed a new air conditioner. I said I wanted a Carrier Performance Series that we had which was damaged and he said ok no problem. He did not tell me Thigpen was no longer a Carrier authorized dealer. He proceeded to write up the order but changed the compressor to the cheaper Comfort series but lead me to believe it was the Performance series. He wrote the order on a Tablet and part of the invoice was cut off and there were no itemized prices. It was 9, 230.00 I said ok not knowing he had changed the order on me but my son caught it and confronted him on the switch. He told my son he was trying to save me money and the model were the same except for the exterior cabinet. He knew that I had a conversation with my insurance company as I was paying premiums to insure my built in appliances and that I could get some money back however on the form for my insurance company he put that the old compressor could have been replaced and I did not need a new unit so my homeowners insurance only gave me a fraction of the cost as Steve told them it could have been replaced. He then overcharged me for the new unit and it appears by the $3,000.00 that I was getting beck from the insurance company. After it was installed the new AC did not work. Thigpen sent out their lead tech who had to rewire it and change out the thermostat. If that wasnt enough he had to come out several more times for different issues with the unit. He then said the pump was not working and he cleaned the old pump instead of replacing it as I asked him to. The I was called by Thigpen and told my new unit did not pass city inspection as the condensation pump needed to be replaced with a new one so that the voltage matched the new unit or I could have a house fire. Thigpen did not change the pump out until May even though they installed the new AC early March so they left me at risk for a fire for 3 months. This should never happen to anyone nit I am a disabled 76 year old widow and this is shameful. I know there will be a special place in hell for these dishonest people especially the salesman. Our A/C system was due for a maintenance and had stopped cooling on the 2nd floor. Thigpen had someone out the next day to fix it. That service man, Jim found a dirty filter might be the cause but the unit was iced up and he was unable to do anything with it. The following day Mike B arrived to service the two units. He arrived at the promised time and performed the service, including replacing the filters, and found both units to be working properly. We have not had any additional issues. I worked for Thigpen for many years. I love their entire family and staff. So on Tuesday when my husband called to inform me that our Ac wasn’t cooling I immediately called them. In less than a couple of hours our technician Glen arrived. Unfortunately due to the size and type of motor we needed replaced it had to be special ordered. However Glen was able to install a temp motor to give us cooling immediately until the permanent repairs could be made. We have had an air conditioning nightmare for the last 2 weeks! Our home warranty company and their contracted air conditioning company basically ruined our air conditioner and stated that it was our fault. That being said, my husband called Thigpen. Joey talked with us, sent out techs, cared about our problem and our family. Thigpen was the first company to show any concern for our situation. Thigpen then gave us the best deal on a new unit and installed it within 24 hours! Jeff and DJ showed up this morning and installed our new air conditioning unit and did a superb job. They worked diligently to make sure the old unit was removed. They found a void in the floor under the inside unit and made sure that was fixed and sealed to ensure our new unit would be installed and operating properly. They left my home clean and put back together. After this experience with Thigpen Heating and Cooling, I will not be calling any other company for my AC needs! Great customer service, quality work! Its nice to know there are still some professionals left in this industry. I had a very old unit that finally died (in the heat of the summer!). We needed a complete replacement fast, and I so I began calling around for quotes. It was obvious early on in this process that most of these AC companies knew I was desperate, and they were going to take full of advantage of me. Thigpen Heating and Cooling just installed a new Lennox Heat Pump and Air Handler in my condo. Start to finish, they were very professional and also competitive with their costs. Steve T. took care of the initial sales and assisting with choosing the appropriate system for my unit, along with scheduling the installation. We had a series of issues with the A/C unit in our apartment & ended up dealing with a total of 5 Thigpen employees. All 5 were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and considerate (working around the odd hours we keep due to conflicting work schedules). The extent of the work ended up including replacing our entire central cooling unit which they did in record time. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone with heating or cooling needs!

Thigpen has been taking care of our AC system in the beaches area for years, and has always been tops in customer service and competence keeping our older systems in order. However, when our upstairs AC unit recently died, they took customer service to a new level. They immediately brought out an older outside unit and installed it to make sure we had temporary AC for 5 days until our new units could be installed - talk about AMAZING! Then the install of an upstairs unit in the attic and a new 2 speed unit downstairs went flawlessly. We cant say enough about how great their service, staff, and value are - Thigpen is simply the best!

Make Thigpen your first call. They were my second call, but well worth it. My A/C unit went out and they installed a better unit than I was quoted from another business AND at a better price. They are a premier Lennox dealer and that speaks to their product and their service. Steve made the effort to see if a crew could be routed to my house and I had a quote, contract and installation in about five hours. The crew was excellent. They arrived and jumped right in and didnt stop until it was done. I was an extra job before their weekend started but you wouldnt know it. Cannot recommend Thigpen enough. What a disappointment. I called last week and talked to a pleasant lady at Thigpen to set up an appointment to have our heat pump serviced. I had used this company years ago when they were on Main St. and was pleased with them. My appointment was for between 2 and 3 pm on July 31. I had to make sure I was home and had my phone with me at all times in advance of the appointment. Its over an hour past the time and I havent heard from the office or the tech. There is much I could have done today other than wait for a no-show. I was told it could be earlier. The worst thing about it is they werent working me in. I called last week. There are too many A/C people to wait on them. Ill just call someone else. Thigpen, you have gone downhill. Your responses to other bad reviews makes me think that maybe they are the ones that are telling the truth, Thigpen is only trying to send up a smoke screen to obscure the truth. What words of wisdom do you have for this review? No record of my appointment? Call somebody other than Thigpen Heating and Cooling, Inc.Edit: The guy shows-up over 2 hours late. I sent him on his way. I could have saved him some time & travel had he called.

The staff at Thigpen came in and replaced my entire home AC and duct work. They were done in one day, and you could not even tell they were there! Amazing from the first visit to the end. Estimate was spot on, and they assisted me in finding financing. Highly recommend the Thigpen team for your HVAC needs!

I have used Thigpen many years for service. I trust them completely, they are very honest and prompt. Just last week my unit went out, it was 14 years old so I was expecting it. In less than a week I have a brand new unit. When I got home today there was no sign of them being there! Imagine that..they cleaned up after themselves! Obviously they take pride in their work and customer service. I highly recommend them for all your heating and cooling needs.

My ac couldnt keep temperature. It was leaking water from time to time and airflow was weak. Scott M. came in (with coverings over his shoes) and identified that the coils were freezing up because they were clogged and needed to be cleaned. He cleaned them very thoroughly. He then cleaned out the condensate drain pipe. He then went outside and checked everything and made sure my refrigerant level was good. Scott was very courteous and answered all of my questions. I was glad to have quality service at a fair price. Will recommend to friends and family.

Had a new Rheem heat pump installed.My salesman Steve Toney explained all my options thoroughly.He brought out his lead engineer who took precise measurements and between they they arrived at what o feel was a very reasonable price.The technical staff arrived on time and worked their butts off all day.They were very professional and courteous, they completed the work and left the site spotlessly clean.I recommend this vendor if you need A/C.

AC went out after we got home from work on a 90 degree Friday night. Called Thigpen Heating & AC and I got a call back in less than 10 minutes from their dispatcher and the technician diverted from going home and arrived about 15 minutes later. They had the unit running in another 15 minutes with a board patch and part ordered. Great customer service.

Girlfriend and I called them since they installed the air conditioner at the place she just bought. They could have charged us $150 to come and take 10 minutes to fix a simple problem but instead told us what the problem was and explained how to fix it over the phone. Really impressed by that.

Called to set up an estimate for the replacement of both of my 3 1/2 ton units that were failing at my residence on Friday 08/18/17, Evidently it must have been inconvenient for the service writer as he was more interested in looking up my address on Google Earth, and used every excuse in the world to avoid making any attempt to have someone come to my home. He suggested Monday would be the first opportunity available period!, and by the tone of his voice was not concerned with the business that a two unit replacement offered! It is 11:43 am and I have already had appointments with two other locally owned companies regarding my issue and will make a decision after this review. FYI, I own multiple rentals and will not consider this company in the future for any maintenance or extensive work per the discussion and lack of interest by the service writer Steve!

I just had my a/c replaced by Thigpen and couldnt be more pleased. The sales manager, Steve Toney, was extremely professional and courteous and was so helpful in determining the system that I needed and could afford. After shopping around and getting estimates from other companies in the area, I was sold on Thigpen and they did not disappoint. The installer arrived on time and worked nonstop until the system was installed, my home was cooled and the mess created by the installation was completely cleaned up. I would like to thank Thigpen for their honest and thorough assessment of the need to repair vs replace the heat pump for my parents home. Steve Toney was at the home to submit an estimate for replacement of the heat pump, when he thought to call Lennox and determine if the parents had the extended warranty on their unit. With proof of original purchase, Steve was able to have Lennox extend the warranty on parts for the heat pump. Instead of replacing the unit, it was determined that a fix would be more appropriate at this time. Thank you Steve and Thigpen for doing what was best for the customer!!

After 17 years my old HVAC system was in need of being replaced. Thigpen had been recommended to me by my neighbors. The first contact I had with them was through their estimator, Steve Toney. Mr. Toney was exceptional. He worked with me tirelessly until we arrived at the correct size of system I needed for my home, explained everything that they would be doing, answered all of my questions and even came by my home on the day of installation to be sure things were going well.The installers were wonderful. Very nice young men(Demetri and Josh). They were cheerful and answered any questions I had during the install of the system.This is a company that goes beyond the normal in selling a customer the exact right system for their home. Where I thought i might need a large unit, they felt a smaller was better for the performance I needed. That is impressive as so many companies want to sell bigger and more expensive systems.I am looking forward to dealing with them in years to come when it comes to the upkeep of my new system. I cant thank them enough for giving such good service. In todays world where so many companies only care about their profit margin, its nice to deal with a company that really does seem to put the customer first.Wish I could give them MORE than 5 stars.Thanks guys! You have been great.

They treat their customers like family they care

I called to schedule an evaporator coil cleaning. I told the man that I had not had my AC coil cleaned for 6 years (not gotten around to it) and it would need a good cleaning. He offered either a 1 time service or a service plan. I opted for the 1 time service and he said it would cost $79. Well, 2 days later when the tech arrived he started off with the fact that it would probably need a pull and clean before he even entered the house which would be $200-$300. Obviously, I am not going to spend that much without price shopping.When I did call around for prices, they were not on the list. I will not consider businesses that pull such tricks.

Never use this company again.My primary residence has 2 lennox for 18 years now. Almost 3 years ago, I replaced one of the units. I like the salesman Steve so I subsequently replaced one more lennox for one of my rental property. Just after one year warranty expired, the rental property’s lennox air blower broke. I have to pay for the labor cost to replace the broken parts (parts are in warranty). This year, my primary residence’s new lennox lost cooling ability. I had another reputable company check the problem and they identified the leak in evaporator coil. Since this is still under 10 years warranty on parts, I called Thigpen to do the warranty work. First, their service department never returned my call. When I called back, Pam in service department insisted I pay another $84 service charge to have their tech to verify the leak problem even after I had already spoken to their technician. Eventually, I found another local lennox dealer to perform the warranty service without this unnecessary so called service charge.Thigpen’s sales people and technicians are first notch and very knowledgeable people. However, it is their back office clerk who think she is the BIG SHOT that eventually made me take my business elsewhere. By the way, it was only a $460 repair job this time; however, I will never buy any new unit from this company again.If you want to use this company’s services, just pray that you never need to call their back office for the warranty services.

Find another company for your heating and Air Condition needs!!!!Thigpen Heating and Air did a Lennox recall repair replacing the coils to my ac unit 5 years ago. Since my townhome was only 7 years old I hadnt done any maintenance on the unit. I recently moved and had to rent out my unit. I wanted to ensure everything was working fine so I scheduled a maintenance with Waycroft. The poor technician went to unscrew the cap expecting a pressure cap below to prevent the loss of the coolant, to find that the cap had been broken off when the prior technician replaced the coils and the coolant came shooting out. The Waycroft technician was shaken because he was almost injured by the coolant.I then contacted Thigpen to come out and correct the broken piece as well as replace a few parts that were showing time to replace. I emailed the invoice and statement to Thigpen from Waycroft. All I was asking for was to have the cost of fixing the broken cap and replacing the coolant lost covered because of the Thigpen technicians error. The other parts that required replacing were normal wear and I fully expected to pay for the work and parts. After a few calls I spoke to the Manager Mike. Mike clearly only cared about money and quickly insinuated I was lying and someone else had broken it.I told Mike that I was trying to keep this situation at the lowest cost to Thigpen and that he had an opportunity to have a life long customer for routine maintenance, but that he was forcing me to get the work done with Waycroft then take Thigpen to court. Mike said that my threat wasnt very helpful. When I responded that it didnt help when he had already insinuated that I was a liar. He hung up on me.!!!!Save yourself the trouble. Find another company for your heating and Air Condition needs!!!!

The absolute worst experience Ive ever had with a service call of any kind. I was charged $700 for freon on an in-warranty unit. The AC broke 1 month later and another service provider who was excellent, found that Thigpen had not repaired it correctly. Save yourself a nightmare and a lot of money and look elsewhere.
