Horrible experience it’s really a pandemic out here and I can’t even have a service that was created for humans like me. Let alone the American rescue plan is in effect and this state is not allowing benefits to be paid for the unemployment at all. All of the representatives are unable to assist with any questions other than what’s written on paper to tell their applicants. I want to kill myself literally I can’t feed my babies!!!!!
First off there is no legal services for the state during a PANDEMIC from the American Rescue plan 2021 and they have turned unemployment insurance services off for those in need and have children to feed. I feel that this is unfair and unjust that we have to continue suffering for something we cant even control. Customer Service Representatives are not even answering question they are strictly just not helping this worse ever.
The only way to contact them is by phone. If you ever happen to get through to talk to someone and have a issue NEVER EVER ask to speak to a supervisor. I have tried multiple times and they simply put you on hold and then hang up on you. Every time.
Cant get a live operator, no way to contact anyone for help. I was cut off for having a job but dont have a job. The numbers keep you in hold, you set up a callback and they dont call you. The job stated I needed to have a car and insurance, I dont have either. Somehow they pulled up this job, no money has been made and yet they stopped benefits. No one thought to look into the qualifications or do an investigation like the email said they would. Nobody contacted me, I had to contact them by email and phone. They cut me off, I wouldnt have known if I hadnt called weeks ago.
Typical of what you get with low end government employees. They do not care anything about their job or the people that need help. The worst service one could ever expect to receive. They are rude and disrespectful. Most of them should be fired and on unemployment themselves. The win job center in Pearl is the worst of all. Horrible people.
Nobody will ever answer! I had to file an appeal for filing my initial appeal late because nobody would help me. THAT appeal was denied a week ago for not having a just cause for filing late, and I have two weeks to appeal but I cant contact anyone and none of their office are open to just drive there myself! I received an email this morning that it was sent to the appeal board but I have no information on how to tell them anything, add documents, make a statement, NOTHING! The automated messaging system is an absolute joke, and if by miracle I do get ahold of someone they just put me on hold indefinitely or I keep getting bounced around from department to department. I am NOT paying them for money I did NOT receive, and I am NOT paying any of the interest they claim I owe. Id rather they take me to actual court than deal with this bull, at least THEN Id be able to look someone straight in the eyes.
If I could give zero stars I would. I have been in and out of contact with them for over TWO HOURS! All I needed was an address change! I called and the lady kept sending me to an automated menu that didn’t relate to what I asked for at all. I called back waited another 20 minutes informed her of her mistake just for her to do it again. IF YOU DONT LIKE YOUR JOB STAY AT HOME and let people who actually want to help others help.
Always late so slow and bad technical support.. cant get ahold of anything.

I mean which office in America can have all their phones busy for a whole 3 weeks, no one ever answers the phone nor reply to the email addresses they claim if you have any questions you should send them an email they never ever reply to none of the emails they provided.Again Mississippi tax payer deserve better!!!!!!
Very unprofessional and poorly trained staffed not only here but also at the appeal center. I stayed on the phone from 7-11 am recieving different answers and getting hung up on repeatedly. When i was trained in a call center i was taught to tell customers one moment please instead of just getting quiet for 5 mins. I could tell no one knew how to help me and that i understood the situations and problems a little more than they did and ive never worked there. Please retrain your entire staff or during quality calls when you grade them. They need tips and consequences!!!
Phone is impossible. Use online features. Create an account on the MDES.gov site and have an email address available. It worked well for me. Good luck and dont give up.
The customer service rep who answered the phone was rude. I didnt have time to even ask my question before she switched me to another department. I understand that we all have bad days, but there is no excuse in treating applicants this way.
Called the Appeals Department all day and all it keep saying call back during normal business hours which is 8a-5p, but here it was 8:30am and thats the same message I got all day, so when is yall normal business hours because its not between 8a-5p, forgot to mention I been calling for almost 2 months and this is the message I get all day❗❗❗😠😠😠😡
I have been calling this office everyday Since March 23, 2020 . I can not get the phone to ring. I have been calling 3 different numbers.The Win Job Center in Pascagoula, MS had not updated their files in 5 years which interrupted me filing my weekly certification. I am currently not receiving my check and I cant even get anyone on the phone.

Operator says this number is not valid... I’ve been trying for over 2weeks to file appeal, I’m past the filing date but cannot contact by any means listed.. call online or email... they have collected disaster relief money from fed, but I’ve lost everything trying to get it... they have increased the magnitude of this disaster for me 10 fold.... I wish I had never applied, 31 years I’ve worked, never took or asked unemployment. The MDES has made me wish I never had!!! I would have been much better off without them... I have wasted countless hours That I could’ve been doing something productive, But instead I wasted it on is good for nothing pandemic relief.... I feel I myself have been ripped off royally by the state of Mississippi. Like they have done a bait and switch with the federal relief money... The feds released it now the state won’t give it to those its intended? I say foul and I hope they are investigated fully... I’m at my wits end, and have literary been driven crazy by this system -5 stars is my vote...
In September 2019, for the first time, I had to apply for unemployment benefits. Ive never had a problem with the website and every time I called, the person I spoke with was friendly and helpful. Since the virus hit, those in need dont take into account what this agency is dealing with. As the poorest state in the nation, they already had a lot to deal with. Multiply that by 100 and you have chaos. Not enough workers to handle the demand and a drain on all other office resources. Please put yourselves in their chairs, be patient, and know that you will be taken care of. (It took a little over 4 weeks for me to receive an answer to my request.) The system may be in need of some repair but that is not the fault of its employees, so dont take it out on them.
Pandemic or not, you can not reach a soul. This is ridiculous. I’ve been trying to reach a physical body for over four weeks now.
I understand that they are overwhelmed by all the calls that are coming in to MDES. I also understand that they were short of staff and had to hire additional staff to get to the customers that call in for assistance. What I do not understand is why you are on the line (waiting) for more than two hours just to be hung up on or disconnected from your call. This has happened to me and I am sure many others. When this happens the person will have to call again and start the process of waiting and holding on the line just for this to happen again or not to be able to get through at all. Still, not receiving the help nor assistance that is needed.I also believe that some of the staff is inexperienced and do not have the knowledge to provide the customer with the assistance that is needed to help them.

The woman answered all of my questions I had.. Even though at this time, I had to wait on hold for about an hour, she was very nice and attentive. I could however only get through to one number they have posted. Overall, my expectations were met.
It is impossible to get the correct number to call them and I have been waiting to hear back from unemployment for a month and now things are all out of order and confusing with my case and I cant get any help! One thing is for certain, unemployment figures in MS are greatly underreported. Trying to register can seem virtually impossible right now.
MDES is probably one of the best in the country! Everyone is very helpful and responsive.

Not only does no one answer the phone, no one responds to emails either. I have been locked out of my account for days now and I havent got a response to fix the issue. Customer Service is HORRIBLE .
I had filed and claim accepted 4/20/20. I have yet to receive my debit card. I have completed all the necessary steps to receive my unemployment benefits. There is no phone available to ask anyone any questions concerning this.

On Mondays and Tuesdays they dont do certain things and on Thursdays and Fridays they dont do certain things so what are they doing during the rest of the time these days? When you do call, you have 3 hr wait time, If you dont want to wait 3hrs the automated system well set up an appointment for you to talk to a real person in approximately two to three days after you try to call. Whats going on in Jackson where nobody wants to answer the phones? There is no checks and balances for this. I for one see a lot of fraud, waste,and abuse of Mississippi taxpayers money! We the taxpayers of Mississippi demand better service!!!

Okay so im trying to file my unemployment due to the pandemic all Im getting is a busy tone or your call didnt go through apparently I have been disqualified for unemployment for some odd reason I have emailed two or three different times and I have been calling for two or three days and I cant get anybody on the phone or to respond to an e-mail Im highly dissatisfied with the Mississippi department of unemployment security they are a joke I guarantee if they were in this position they have their money already but then Ill think about the families out here who need the help it can you get it its sad the state really needs to do something about their unemployment security offices

I can never get through by phone and I keep getting error that I am locked out on website trying to create account. My info is the same for the past 23 years or more but it keeps telling me it is not the same as they have on file and to call number. Can NEVER get through calling.

No-one ever returns a phone call. Nobody does what they say they will. No one ever sends the mail they say they will. You are Completely left on your own to figure out what to do and if it isnt perfect you get rejected.
Worst ever. Phone lines dont work. Emails are automated, and website always locks you out of the system. This needs to be investigated just like the MDHS.

It takes A total of three to four hours to get someone on the phone: you can’t reset a password if they lock your information. I did a reset on the computer ten times. I still couldn’t file my weekly information because the worker lock my information. This system is is very exhausting and works on your nerves . I was on the phone 5 days . Please don’t call from 12pm to 2pm they will put you on hold and go to lunch . I’m so disgusted ..,, state of Mississippi needs help beyond measure

If you didnt know the SNAP program was under investigation for fraud due to case workers cheating clients out of the proximate number of FS they should be receiving. Till this day those fraudulent case workers are still on the job with very to little change. I dislike fraudulent programs. 😠
