Wonderful experience after a very complicated rental due to my misunderstanding and then the first vehicle not starting. I hope Ms Ella is ALWAYS on duty or I get similar service with a smile every time I visit the Avis counter at Jackson Airport. Well when i arrived in Jackson Mississippi airport National gave all there cars away to FEMA including my reservation. Left me with no car at 8:30 pm and offered a uber. I got online booked a car through my cooperate Egencia and used AVIS. When I got to the lady (ELLA) she said you just booked that reservation 2 minutes ago, I have no cars available. I said ok and left the counter there was probably 5 people behind me she told the same thing to. Then about 2 minutes later she called me to come back to the counter and found me a car. I couldnt thank her enough. Did i motioned it was already past her shift she should of been closed already

Avis by far has the worst custom service. I booked a reservation over two weeks ago for a pick up on today 6/10/21 at 12:00pm at the Avis located in Walmart in Flowood. Received my confirmation email to do an advance check in on 6/9/21, which I completed and was confirmed. The morning of the 10th around 9:15 I received a call from the clerk stating that they did not have any vehicles and that she would call me back once they received it. 11:45 roll around still no call so I go up to the location. I advise the clerk who I was and she rudely said to me “What are you doing here I said I would call once I get the vehicle.” I immediately cancelled my reservation and went to Enterprise! They have the worst customer service ever. If you looking to rent a car from them don’t they are going to leave you in a walking.

I ask if I had to turn my rental in at another location had much would I be charged, I was told just a small fee, well I dont think $750 is a small fee, because something happened at home and I had to fly back home early, and the a/c wasnt working properly in the car.

Traveling to Jackson, MS. My wallet was stolen the weekend prior to traveling. Luckily I do not keep my ID in my wallet and I have my cards in my digital wallet and through my banking app. I had a prepaid reservation, i tried to pick it up with my drivers license and my digital card through the Bank of America app, (not a photo) and they would not accept it. They could easy put the numbers in the system and run the card just like they would do if mag stripe was unreadable. We are in 2021 and this company is behind the times. Everywhere I go apple pay is acceptable and so is digital cards. This company is getting passed by in technology. Went to the counter next to avis and they were able to get me a car rental by using my digital card. Needless to say I will never be renting with Avis again.

The customer service representative is Jackson, MS was appalling. She was largely unable to be helpful because she was too busy with her cell phone. And, ultimately, after making me wait she DID NOT complete my requests. I then had to wait 46 minutes on a phone to speak to an agent to get support. I WILL NO LONGER rent with you.

Reserved a Mustang or equivalent but no Mustangs, oh well. First Camaro was absolutely filthy and reeked of cigarette smoke and cheap air freshener, burn holes all over the seats so I went back to the counter and requested a different one. Second Camaro didnt stink but still pretty dirty inside, even found garbage under seats, and it had a slow leak on one tire which I find hard to believe they didnt know about it as the valve stem cap was missing already from numerous times of having air added and tread was already worn uneven only 6000 miles on the car. I had to add air twice in four days. Interactions with Avis customer service on several occasions left me highly disappointed in their brand. See photos of floor mats in this nearly brand new car that was rented at premium price!

The agent lied and said she would not extend my rental because I had a debit card, which they took 2 times prior. She did not want to help me nor did she want to see my receipts from the previous times. I am stuck in Jackson, trying to get a rental car because of this.

You can never get anyone on phone at local location. When connected to national line they tell you contact local office. Both times I went there were not busy but nobody answers. You have to physically drive there to talk to anyone.

Never reeve from them.. The charge additional without your knowledge after they tell you something else. So dissatisfied.. the car was clean and operable but picking it up the lady was nasty and the reps are all over the place with no detail and little access to information.. Ive been waiting for. Supervisor to call me for 2 hrs now

Didnt have vehicle I had a confirmed reservation for. Notified of that less than 24 hrs in advance. Spoke with customer service and was told for more money and not unlimited miles, at a different location I could have the vehicle I already had reserved. Took several people to finally get the vehicle. Still had to pay more but a refund of the difference was promised after return.Update: 5 days later and the return that was promised (with a confirmation number given for it separate from my reservation) still has not been issued. It was stated that it would be issued 3 to 5 days after return of the vehicle.

Agent at the counter was very friendly. Pick up at the terminal went smoothly but after leaving the airport and packing the vehicle, we noticed it had not been cleaned at all. There was dog hair EVERYWHERE from the previous renter, the ceiling of the car, back of every seat, in the cup holders, EVERYWHERE. And a makeup bag from a previous renter on the floor of the backseat. So it was very evident that no attempt had been made to clean the vehicle. And with a pandemic going on and Avis commitment to cleanliness on the front of the website, it was disappointing to see that there had been no cleaning and sanitizing done.

Will never rent from Avis again!Customer service offered a $20.00 off coupon my next rental after I complained of being dinged by the counter agent for a $10.99 fee for not refueling the vehicle!Vehicle was refueled. Agent was at the counter and could not see the fuel gauge past the full mark!Just a money grab!No receiving agent in the garage. Guess austerity measures are in place.Had I not reviewed the invoice, i would have not seen the charge!

The vehicle was not sufficiently cleaned. There was a chicken leg bone under one of the seats, there was a used water bottle left and there was a cheeto under a seat and some kind of orange food mess on the front passenger seat. Ella, at the counter was fabulous and very friendly. Unfortunately, we didnt discover the extent of the food left in the vehicle until we had left. Im sure they would have allowed a change, but someone needs to do a better job checking before allowing further rentals.

While I was in memphis the check engine light came on. I call customer service to see can I exchange the truck. I drove to 3 different location before I had someone to help me. I had to call customer service 9 times it was a horrible experience. The maintenance guy are not doing their jobs.

Need improvement with customer service. The company never answer the phone!!!!!The phone rings, goes to the operator and hangs up. I called several times. Even called the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport and their representative transfer me. Even United Airline representative was so helpful to help but no response.

Rented a car out of Avis and very happy with the quantity of cars available although upon taking the car home I found several items on the floor and under the seats. The windows were filthy and there was mud all over the seats and dashboard of the car. I honestly wondered if the vehicle had been cleaned at all.

The reason I have a preferred account is because I do not want to wait in line for a car and I thought that by having this account it would expedite the process because I was on my way back home to help my grandmother into in home hospice. However that was not the case I waited in line for an hour and the. I tried to apply some discounts that I couldn’t apply because my rental was already paid for. She said I can cancel you rental for you if you would like. She didn’t offer and type of customer service didn’t off till help me re do the agreement and mad me miss out on precious last minutes with my grandmother. Then to top it all off the manager basically said he was short staffed and there was nothing that he could do about it. I am sorry but as a customer it is not my fault that you are short stAffed. I feel like BECAUSE you are short staffed you should have the preferred members accounts charged and ready to go so that it can decrease the lines for walk up guests. I am probably never going to use Avis again because of all this hassle that happened when I need you guys the most in this difficult time.

Travelling for church. The lady who receive the car told me: Everything is perfect. go to the counter to get your receipt. The lady at the counter also told me: everything looks good. Without my knowledge they charged me $ 82.50 plus taxes for 14 minutes after the 29 minutes grace time. I told the lady You are supposed to tell me if something is wrong BEFORE you charge my credit card, not AFTER She told me that It was on the contract. and I replied: It is an addendum in case of something happened. The agent on Saturday damaged my credit card & forced me to use a credit card that I didn’t want to use. She kept rubbing the magnetic strip of the card across the counter top which damaged it then she said for some reason my card would not read. I had NO issues with the card before then! I had to ORDER A NEW CARD BECAUSE OF HER. I felt like she was doing something fraudulent!!!She kept changing cars and wouldn’t tell me why. I NEVER SIGNED THE RENTAL AGREEMENT. SHE TOLD ME THAT I DID NOT HAVE TO SIGN IT.

Dishonest.You should not have to worry about a car rental company checking in your car the next day and charging you extra..but that is what happened.I have rented with Avis for years without issue..until now. I reserved a car on Wednesday 15JAN2020 at 1100 and would drop off the car Saturday 18JAN2020 at 0400 as my flight boarded at 0525. When I dropped off the car at 0500, there were no agents present, the counter was deserted. I took a picture of the cluster showing time and fuel, dropped the keys in the lock box and proceeded to go to my flight.My quote for the rental was $361.48..I checked my account several days later and Avis had charged me $639.48. When I got through to an agent, I was told I returned the car late at 7oclock on the 19th..I replied that I was not even in the same state. I had flown out the day before. Avis hadnt bothered to check in the car..Avis overcharged me $278, and after submitting proof of not being in Mississippi, they indicated they would refund $137.83...a far cry from the $278 overcharge.I have not been able to get a representative on the phone who can answer 1)why the refund is near half of the overcharge and 2) why someone did not have the integrity to check the car in when I dropped it off.Avis, integrity should be a core value. But when your staff does things like this, it costs you business in the future.

We recently had a need for a vehicle that would accommodate 6 passengers and luggage. After looking at several rental agencies with disappointing results, we stopped by Avis. We were met with smiles, allowed to go and look at several vehicles to determine the best suitable, and were very encouraged that they would be able to find what we needed. On our second trip to look, we met Debbie Pryor, Operations Manager. She was very helpful in advising us and assuring us that she should be able to get what we needed. She and other employees went above and beyond to find the right vehicle for us. And she did! It was perfect! I will definitely go to Avis if I need another rental vehicle. Thank you Debbie!!

I made a reservation for a 20-day rental. My project was cut short and I ended up returning the car on the 13th day. Instead of charging me the weekly rate for two weeks, I was told that I had violated my contract and was charged total of $1,371 for 13 days. (This includes $10/day upgrade charge that I agreed to and is not in dispute.). Minus the not-disputed upgrade fee, this leaves my daily total rate at $95/day. If Avis is going to take full advantage of anyone retiring a car before the scheduled date - something that happens all the time in business trips - then I will never rent from Avis again. I spend between $12,000 and $15,000 per year on rental cars. I’m taking my business elsewhere. So congratulations; you won the battle and lost the war.

I gave this review a three star rating because the Flowood location deserved 0 stars due to poor customer service performance. The young lady (or person based on her behavior) was very angry, rude and hung up the phone while I was asking her a question. When I attempted calling back, my calls continued to go unanswered. I was not sure of the exact pickup location and I was trying to confirm rental pickup time. Thankfully, there was ‘a ram in the bush’!I called the airport location and the customer service was stellar from the beginning. The agent apologized for my experience with the Flowood agent and then exceeded my expectation by making sure my rental was transferred to the airport location (per my request). As a Preferred customer, the service that was provided to me by the general agent, the manager, and the Preferred agent (Melanie) was unparalleled at the airport. Thank you Avis at Jackson International Airport (JAN) for providing amazing customer service and upholding Avis’s standard after the Flowood agent failed miserably.

When we flew from home to here and rented vehicle, everything went pretty smooth - with one exception - If you prepay in advance, they wont let you switch your method of payment. If we wanted to switch it would have been a $150 fee to cancel Didnt want to cancel, just switch which card we used. Kind of silly.

The AVIS vehicle was wrecked and Avis didnt see to be integrated correctly the collision department did not talk to reservations, recovery and the they did not talk to the return vehicle department. As a result it appeared as if I stole the vehicle and did not want to return it. Somehow they worked it out finally this week.

I had no problems during the rental but almost 2 months later my credit card was charged $200 for windshield damage that I did not see. I tried to use their services the following weekend but their website kept saying my card was invalid so I finally called their customer service and they said the card was fine the charges were just being denied. My credit card company thought the charges were fraudulent because I had 5 consecutive charges by Avis so they locked my card. I got them to unlock the card but Avis had charged me for the vehicle so many times it took me over my credit limit. I called customer service and they said it would take 24-48 hours for them to refund me but I would be able to use my debit card I would just have a larger deposit. I made the reservations, went to pick up the vehicle and was told I could not use my debit card unless I had flight reservations. I could get the same vehicle at their other location but it would cost me $1,200. I never got the vehicle that I had paid for 5 times!!!!!! and they took me over my credit limit so I couldnt rent from anyone else so I never made it to the second interview for my dream job.

One star is far too high a rating.1) This Avis had no interest in my business or how I was treated.2)A pre-arranged price is NOT binding and if the car you have pre-arranged to rent is not available, tough.No one cares!One very self important, abrasive, Caucasian woman in her 40s was the REAL problem. She declared I WILL NOT RENT to my mother, threw her hands in her face in dismissal. (this after being forced into a 30% markup, not having type car we reserved, as a *nonrefundable* purchase )The attitude was what are you going to do about it?Please do yourself a favor, go ANYWHERE else.

I have literally been sitting here for 3 hours waiting on the system to come up do that my debit card can be ran for a credit check. The ladies at the counter are not helpful AT ALL. Instead of trying to help they are gossiping about other people and when I ask about the system, one literally pecked two keys and said Nope still down. My reservation was for 6pm and here it is 9:02pm. This has been the WORST rental experience Ive ever had. I would type more but my phone is at 24%. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
