Highly recommended Catrina from State farm. She was able to save me around 100 dollars per month on my auto insurance with the exact same coverage I was receiving through another company. I also switched my homeowners and was able to obtain better coverage for around the same price per year and for a very responsible price I now have hospital indemnity coverage for all my kids. Unfortunately the desire to sell a policy is more important than doing the upfront work to ensure a proper quote is provided. Made a huge mistake and fell for this smooth talking salesman. Turns out it was not the deal he promised and now I am stuck paying 600 more a year for car insurance after loosing all my good long term standing and discounts with prior company. Agents have the right to increase costs in the first 60 days of a policy. My increase was applied just in time to meet this loophole. But at least he felt ok about it because he has done quite well for himself over the 5 years in business. Yes that is what he said. Buyer beware.

I was doubtful that Nick could help me lower our insurance needs because I had tried with State Farm a couple years ago and they wouldnt cover all of our needs. But he not only cover ALL of our needs he was able to get us Antique insurance on our 82 truck. Now I have one payment a month and I dont have to worry about paying one company, then another and another. Such a relief. He was also able to cover our awning on our camper. Win, Win!!! And the best part.....We saved over 500 a year! Ching! And his STAFF is EXCELLENT!!

Not a person who normally gives negative reviews as it is preferable to bring attention to places that do a great job and relate the good experiences they provide.In this case it is one of the rare moments to relate the hurdles and troubles experienced. Almost every time you attempt to call this agent and get him on the phone there will be an excuse why you cant be connected. You might be reassured that a return phone call will be forthcoming but that doesnt happen either.Being unable to speak to the agent directly, one of his subordinates may eventually attempt to get enough information out of you to come up with a possible excuse or anything, including being rude, to get you to leave them alone. This will also include saying they have a note attached to your account which says the agent attempted to contact you leaving them with no other options to help with problems they not only had a hand in but originally caused.So as far as this office is concerned an unsubstantiated attempt to call you without even leaving a message is considered a resolution to issues you might have including those which result in big financial penalties or even losing your license.If you sign up for auto pay here do not expect it to stick, we have had to reinstate auto pay 3 times with an explanation of it being a mystery why auto pay was halted. Also if you are assured of anything through this office make sure to call the state farm main customer service number to verify everything you are told. Shortly after it wouldnt be a bad idea to verify all the information again with the DMV and then check again a month after to make sure it is continuing properly. Obviously it would be easier to go to a different place entirely but just trying to lay out what you might have to do if you are committed to doing business here.Also the situation was talked about at a recent family dinner and a relative explained that not too long ago there was an eerily similar incident with her auto pay and account in general which resulted in that family member having to pay over $1000 as well as losing her license due to the negligence of this office.

While I found Nick and his staff to be very helpful, friendly, and easy to contact, during the short amount of time they managed my plans, I also experienced multiple errors in my billing and my insurance coverage selections.Several errors such as excessive charges and information updates took multiple emails and phone calls to clear-up. At each step, both Nick and his staff were responsive and apologetic, and eager to fix the issue.. but the issues either persisted or new issues would arise.There were also several times where coverage estimates were mis-quoted.Finally, I decided to move my plans (a home insurance plan and car insurance) to a different agent here in town. Again, it was Nicks general lack of attention to detail that made me concerned. My worry was that if it was this difficult to get accurate quotes, accurate bills, and accurate information into their system during good times, I was worried that I may experience a similar level of lack of attention to detail if something bad was to happen - or worse, that my coverage would not have been input correctly, and would not be sufficient.I think its also worth noting that when I spoke with Nick about changing agents due to these experiences, Nick had both offered to buy lunch for me and my entire office as a way to make amends for my experience. I thanked him for the offer, and declined, saying I was fairly certain that I would change agents and I would feel bad about accepting that offer and not keeping my business with his office. He then said he was sorry to lose my business, and asked that I not share about my experience with anyone as Ithaca is a small town, and he was concerned about how this may impact future business as he started up the office.After I changed to a new agent in town, as we reviewed my policies together, the new agent also found almost a dozen errors in my policies. Many were simple attention to detail errors, such as the input of the square footage of my home (my home was recorded in the system as several hundred square feet smaller than my home report lists), and the amount of coverage I would need for total home replacement was not sufficient (I had been covered for an amount that was actually tens of thousands of dollars thousand dollars less than the full replacement value of my home). This was what made me want to share my experience with others.I am so grateful that I switched agents and re reviewed my policies. If something catastrophic were to have happened, I do not think I would have been fully covered.

Nick was extremely quick to respond to my request for home insurance and car insurance quotes. He was able to offer competitive prices, and then processed all the paperwork in a very timely and efficient manner. While I was very pleased with the initial process, I have since reviewed my rating for a couple of reasons: I started receiving emails from several of his staff members to sign documents or confirm my drivers license number, which I believe should have been done at the time I subscribed the policies; I was also informed that I had to enroll in an online defensive driving course ($24.95) to keep a discount on my car policy, although I had not been initially informed that this discount was included and I would be required to complete the course; finally, although I indicated I was traveling abroad with limited internet access and gave the date I would be back in the US, they continued to send emails on the same subjects...I would have expected a smoother process...
