Contrary to what other reviews say this location has been a life saver during the pandemic. It seems to be a new group of employees with better attitudes and customer service skills. They are quick and efficient and act like they’re glad to be there. I hope they keep up the good work. It is appreciated!

Bismillah, just left the Irvington post office. The customer service is poor, unfair and rude. No manager on site. The current staff allows full service line to be backed up while new customers walk 🚶‍♂️ in and be service. My time and money is just as valuable. I was not given a receipt or offered an envelope.

This has to be one of the worst run Post Office in the area. Delays in mail. Packages get missing. Just recently was suppose to get two packages stating was picked up and signed for. By whom? I believe someone stole it. Letter had been sent to US Postal Service in Washington DC.

This post office is so slow and the people that work there are nasty a rude..a well we as the people have to do BETTER....

Postal delivery drivers are stealing from customers I received a email confirmation of my package delivery I saw the truck one house away and no packages I immediately call Macys and report it drivers are bringing your package in the are where their GPS show that they are in the area but the never leaving your package. Irvington have thieves working for postal services.

I was in the office yesterday and the employees are beyond rude and disrespectful. The place is dirty and smells . They never have enough of anything. Always running out of things. This is the worse Office I have ever been too. They have to do better!

I have not been able to get into my mailbox since moving here back in March. Visited the Post Office, paid for a new mailbox key, and due to Covid, the making of said key was delayed. I received a call about a month ago saying my key was finally ready. I have been to the post office multiple times since and my key can never be found. Can someone please reach out to me in regards to my key. I will be at the post office again tomorrow. Again I have important mail in my mailbox currently that I desperately need. Ive left notes on the mailbox that have been ignored. I refuse to pay again. Can someone please help resolve this situation?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post office delivery persons would NOT deliver packages, then lie by saying they attempted to.

DO NOT GO THERE! Was told that my package was going to be shipped the same day. LIE!! The place smells like a hospital. Only one nice employee (probably new), everybody else just suck!

Every time I have mail they put it in the wrong mail box and my neighbors are THIEVES. PLEASE PUT MAIL IN THE “CORRECT” MAIL BOX. It is so annoying having to find my mail on the floor and sometimes not even getting my mail.

Believe me if I could give them a zero I would. I have never seen so many negative reviews for a post office. The workers are incompetent, rude, obnoxious, and unprofessional. Ive had a package re-attempted delivery 3 times and each time they claim there is no access point. I live in a regular home. No apartment complex. I stayed home and ensured nothing was blocking any access to my home. Still nothing. I have yet to receive my package.

I know we are dealing with this pandemic and all but this place needs a complete overhaul. Package was supposed to be delivered 3 days ago. They said no one was home. I have the Ring doorbell camera and no one ever even came. I get off work the next day early to go and pick it up, wait in line an hour only to be told they cant find it. Left my number, no one ever called. Scheduled a redelivery online for the next day and Im still waiting for them to EVEN ATTEMPT to redeliver. Then you cant pick up packages until after 12. This place needs help man seriously its not even funny. Service is not good and they couldnt care less.

It works for me.. I always get everything done quickly and Im in and out. They always gave the windows open and the workers know what thay are doing. I love having this place in the city... I hate having to go into the suburbs for the post office. I pray it stays open for years to come.

Very unsatisfied . They said that my order has delivered and that they left it with an individual. First of all i never told anyone to leave my packages with an individual. Simply place them on my door step and i will pick them up . And second of all, i never even received my packages

Worse post office ever... They throws the mail on the floor in the hallway... My package never get delivered I always have to pick them up..... They said out for delivery and delivery was attempted but my doorbell never rings.. and no note was left at the door.... They are just horrible 😢 thats a shame.

I am CONVINCED that the USPS workers from this location are screening packages and stealing them themselves. Depending on what i order and from what company I DO NOT receive my package. Which means they are either opening to see what is being delivered or looking at the name of the company its from. I can not count the amount of packages that seemed to be opened and resealed. They keep saying something is obstructing delivery, but that is a lie. I even double check on my ring doorbell and they never even attempt. This is a decent job with good benefits, I know we live in Irvington not Montclair, but this is so SAD. Postal workers make good money and still are thinking of underhanded schemes to steal from customers. I so need to get out of this town.

We have not received mail since Friday, May 15. I receive my daily alerts via email to let me know what mail is being delivered and I havent received anything! On May 9 I received an alert that a textbook i ordered from Amazon was delivered. Delivered where because it never came to MY residence nor did any of my neighbors receive it in error. On May 16 I received another alert that delivery was attempted for another order from Amazon and they couldnt delivery it; why????? We have security cameras so I know when someone is at my door or the perimeter of my house and noone from the USPS attempted to deliver anything!!! Ive several deliveries from other vendors - Amazon, FedEx and UPS with no problem; its only the post office who has been negligent. WHERE IS MY MAIL?????

The worst USPS I have ever had to deal with. I have watched the mail people come to my house in anticipation of a package. Leave nothing then I get a note saying they had attempted delivery forcing me to go to the post office to get it. Then I have had them deliver packages after 8:00PM at night without knocking or ringing my door to let me know only to have the packages stolen from my door over night after I checked all day for them and they delivered 3 hours outside of when they normally show up. They are completely inconsistent, unprofessional in their service and clearly could care less.

Sent a package to someone to Irvington New Jersey.. Said the package was delivered August 10th. Person never received the package and went to the Irvington Post Office they said it was delivered it wasnt there, low and behold I got the package back return to me as unclaimed with the tracking updated with all different information than originally posted on August 10th. Wheres it been for the last 3 weeks, who knows. At least I got it back.

I went to the facility twice and the young lady went to look for my packages I gave her my tracking number she came back and she said oh theres a lot of packages back there and Im not about to pull it so you got to wait a couple more days. I understand that theres delays, but I know all 4 of my packages is there and its very frustrating. She was very rude and didnt show any kind of understanding. My items been there since the 22nd of May... Todays the 29th, a week later is unacceptable...

The drivers insist on giving my packages away with misdeliveries. I have informed delivery with instructions which is a joke and waste of time!! I am absolutely livid. But I will be in the office front and center tomorrow morning to address this buffonery before they gift anymore of my packages!! Trust me!!!

This place is THE PITS. There is no reason why as busy as this place be every single day that there is always only 1 front end clerk, especially at the beginning of the month when everyone needs money orders and stamps for their rent.The mail package handler at my address marked my home as vacant over 2 weeks ago and rerouted my mail and no one knows where that little thief had my packages rerouted to. None of my mail has been delivered and my bills and other mail is just lost. No one knows where it is.When I went to this station to complain and get answers, everyone looked at my like I was crazy and telling me they cant help me. This is beyond ridiculous. Not only that, when the mail carrier was coming, they always came after 6pm to drop off mail. They throw your packages up on the porch from the driveway and never ring your bell to actually deliver the package. Tossing a package on the porch is not delivery, its a drop off, however we pay for delivery service. This is the exact reason why people are stealing packages. I was always under the impression that if you werent home they took the package back and reattempted delivery before they leave you an orange pick up notice.I wish there was a way to give no stars because they deserve absolutely none.

I missed a package but I reschedule a delivery for the next day. Its been almost a week and the tracking number hasnt updated at all, they havent even attempted a redelivery! so If you ever miss a package good luck getting that package redeliver. The customer service is truly bad, they never answer the phone so I cant even sort out the problem. Probably the worst post office I ever had to deal with!

I am convince this location is stealing packages. They said my package was delivered to me and it never was. I filed a claim with them only for them to not follow up at all. This place needs to be shutdown immediately.

This post office is an absolute disgrace and someone needs to do something about it. They make up their own policies and procedures and are rude. They need to be trained. Also no one answers the phone there. Who ever manages this location needs to get fired because they are never at the location and seem to take lunch for hours. They’ll put you on hold for 30 minutes if you get a person to answer the phone just to hang up on you .I ordered a 20 dollars tablet case for my niece . Prior to submitting my payment and shipping info I consulted 3 USPS employees that are my friends and family who advised me to put the package in my name so that if the carrier is too lazy to deliver it then I can pick it up with no problem. The clerk refused to give me my package even when I showed my ID, had proof of payment a long with the debit card and bank info showing I paid for this package. The clerk told me to send a picture of my ID to a person who lives at my nieces address inorder for them to pick up a package that I paid for! It makes no sense especially when every person who works for the post office told me all they needed was my ID TO MATCH THE PACKAGE! Shut this place down! Or rehire a new staff with proper management

If I could give a 0 I would’ve. This place is TERRIBLE. The staff is extremely rude to everyone who walks through the door & does not care about anyone’s mail or packages. They’ve stated that they delivered my package on two occasions YET my partner is the super of the building and after checking the cameras there was no such package ever delivered. The carrier is probably stealing the packages herself. It’s insane. One of the workers even had the nerve to yell at me when I went to question them about my missing packages. I really need Amazon to officially and only use their own delivery service and stop relying on the USPS. Everytime my packages are delivered through them, theres a delay of some kind. For example, yesterday they claim say that they attempted to deliver my package, however, did not ring the doorbell or even bother to read the instructions my landlord gladly placed in front of the building. Furthermore, there wasnt even a note left behind for this attempted delivery. My building isnt even difficult to access. Its a simple small apartment, so I truly do not understand why my item could not be delivered as promised. I believe someone whos on route got lazy and decided to do a drive by. Get it together!!!!

I had an urgent delivery coming and tracked the package showing it arrived at their facility on Friday January 3rd and delivering to my home on Saturday January 4th.I waited in the morning till noon, there was no show of the USPS delivery agent then I went to the office with my tracking number for pick up because I needed the parts for the mechanic to repair my car as it was scheduled at 3pm on Saturday January 4th.But at the postal office I was told the package was out for delivery, okay then I went back home and wrote note and sticked it to my mail box to please drop package in the mail box and Im home and this is urgent. I left the main door open.Less than 1/4 hr later I took a look outside and see that the USPS delivery person did drop a sticker that says sorry we missed you... despite my note on the mail box and my open door. Then I didnt give up by going back to the office where I was told they are closing at 3pm and the delivery person wont be back in till after 3pm.So I had to cancel my appointment with the mechanic and didnt get the car fixed land to postpone my repair .Why cant they drop package at Customers request? Since they dont try to reach out to customers when they deliver why do they report on the tracking information that they missed the customer.?Also I noticed the delivery personnel very often drop our mails in wrong mailboxes causing lost mails or delayed delivery by the neighbors who wrongly received the mails that dont belong to them?

The staff did not redeliver express mail letter envelope. Package is still in transit. I was told it would have been redelivered on 4/20 by 6:00pm. Package was not delivered the next day either. No one is answering the phone. I would like to speak to the Post Master. He is running a zoo. There is no order. Certified letter is also lost....What is going on that services can not be rendered? I need my money back on my package being delivered by 12:00 noon next day.....do anyone have a second number for the post office?

I really hate this place, i ordered an iPad online and when i saw it was being delivered by the post office I knew I was going to have an issue. It has been out for delivery since 9:06 am. Its now 2:44 pm. My mom was home all day I still didnt received a package. AND THEY NEVER ANSWER THE FREAKING PHONES.

My package was delivered opened and with contents missing. The carrier dropped it off and drove off as soon as I opened my door.

This is the worst post office ever. EVER! I always have issues with delivery. I cannot stand the fact that Fed Ex post delivers to them. I usually never have my packages sent home. The West Orange post office no problem. Irvington? Forget it. So pissed off with them. I pay to have my packages delivered. If I put in writing leave it on the porch. LEAVE IT. The rest is my responsibility. Nobody wants to spend a half hour waiting in this place for a package that I freaking told them to leave on the porch. They NEVER answer the phone. They Never made a 2nd attempt after I scheduled it. Thanks for ruining CHRISTMAS. package was out for delivery in the 23rd. They took it back. Didnt follow my instructions. Dumb. Hate this place. By far worse service. Parking is obsolete. (No parking lot) Crowded and definitely the common I hate working attitude is provided.

I cant believe how this post office is run and no officials are paying any attention. I was to get a package on friday. Reschedule it for Saturday never came now still waiting. We pay for it to be delivered not to go and pick up a service that was paid for. This isnt the 1st time. Time to go deeper like to media to expose this problem. The mail lady use to come everyday on her phone. I could hear her when she was at my door all the way upstairs.

They do things on their own time and convenience and no one elses. People who work there are absolute misanthropes. Give them even a little bit of trouble and theyll send you out of the line for something. I literally go to any other post office besides this one, but of course all the missed packages they cant be bothered to deliver come there.

I received a notice that a package was delivered to my mailbox. It was not there when I got home. I called the post office and the phone rang for a long time then someone picked it up and hung up. I called again and a woman answered. She sounded nice and placed me on hold. Another woman picked up and asked for my information. She did put me on hold a look for my package which she couldnt locate. She asked me to call back on Monday because the mail carrier was off for the weekend. I feel like this is the beginning of a circus!

Ive lived in the area for over 25 years and only use this location when I have no other choice, location specific mail issues etc., IT IS A DISGUSTING REPRESENTATION OF A POST OFFICE. It needs to be overhauled, remodeled and restaffed. If I could give this place a half star I would, and that would still be too generous, Ive had checks stolen, holiday cards opened slightly to see if they contained money. What else can I say, its a must see to believe, but a must avoid for your blood pressure. Im embarrassed to say Ive been there.

These people do not deliver packages. Instead they lie and say no answer or unsafe to leave package when never even bothering to ring a bell or for starters coming by the house. This post office is absolutely horrible. They dont even deserve the one star I was forced to give. Their customer service is trash. There is no reason that my package reached them on a Tuesday and here I am a week later still waiting on a delivery that seems like its never going to happen. Im from VA and I cant believe how different the quality of customer service is in NJ. I will NEVER have anything shipped here again. I filed 2 complaints and had to call 6 times before I ever got an answer. Ridiculous!

They tell you anything about your package if they cant find it! They lie and say its on the truck being redelivered, the driver is not coming to work! His replacement might not show up! Ive heard it all! Im on Disability so im home all day! I have even sat outside my residence from 8am until 7pm waiting in frustration for USPS to show up with my parcel! They never came!! For the next several days! UPS said they delivered it there so someone must have stolen it!!!!!

I normally dont write reviews, but this post office is the worst around. They are slow and have some rude people working there... They cant find my package over a week now its the 3rd with the same mess. I personally wouldnt care if they close it down.

Ms. Fran and Ms. Winnie are very pleasant. They take the time to help me with what ever problem I am having.The only reason Im giving this review 4 stars is because they need more staff to help cut back on the looooong lines and the fact that it ALWAYS smells like a bathroom in there.

I’m sick of them sending my packages to this location.

This office has some of the most slowest and illiterate mail carriers I have ever had to deal with. For the past two years he/she has been putting mail in the wrong boxes when all of the are clearly labeled in black bold font. It doesnt matter how many times one calls and make a complaint about the situation at hands NOTHING changes. Management either needs to retrain employees or they need better management.

This branch doesnt even deserve a star. They take breaks at the worst time. They dont prioritize on guests and would rather make people wait longer to finish a private conversation. When waiting in the pick up line when told by the only teller they dont even try to page or call someone to come to the widow. Its 8:50 am 2-3-16 and I can hear staff members complaining saying they just want to go home. They need a bell honestly to force them to pay attention. Whoever they have as the mail carrier always just claims to attempt delivery but I can be home all day with no knock, rung doorbell, or notice for pickup and no one on my street even get a shred of mail. Im typing this as I stand in a pick up line of 11 people excluding myself. Ive asked if I could just get a P.O Box to just have all my mail and packages forwarded to reduce all the wasted trips looking for packages that track to the office but are apparently are in the delivery drivers personal car and was told they wouldnt hold packages for me. How can you not when its already held for attempted delivery? This branch just needs a fresh wipe for staff or to just to close, Id rather drive, walk, take public transit to a farther branch that does the job they are paid for correctly. If I could force all packages to be sent through fedex, ups, or DHL I would.

The attached phone number is pointless because no one answers, ever. My packages arrive from California to NJ faster than they arrive from this post office to my house and I live down the street.Who do we talk to to fix this?

This is the worst post office. They steal your packages and have no explaination as to what happened to it. I bought a boot for $700 dollars it was never delivered when I got to this post office they said it’s a pattern of ppl’s packages not being delivered. If I can sue them I would. When I called the company the item I ordered was sold out so I couldn’t get it. Worst worst post office they need to be closed down. Waste of tax payers money.

I wish that I live in Newark or Maplewood. The Irvington Post Office is by far a poor excuse for a post office. My mail is being deliver to other houses in the neighborhood. They have claimed that they either lost my packages, or the front door is lock. Lazy bunch of lying postal employees. Is there a post master general or someone to filed a formal complaint?

Slow... rude... hot... went to drop a package & was told that because I printed the label yesterday that I couldn’t have a receipt. This is Irvington. Meanwhile I go to Roseland post office a few times a week & ALWAYS print my receipt beforehand and they always offer me a receipt. These old miserable ladies need to leave if they are going to treat all customers terribly. & Lord the way they speak to foreigners or people with language barriers is insane. USPS as a whole has a bad wrap.If I could give this nasty place negative starts I would. The whole freaking staff is disgusting. The old lady with those thick behind glasses & brown hair is a nasty old person. I have no idea why dysfunctional family people like these work at this post office. They ALLLLLLL need to be fired & start over with a different staff. Someone is going to really go off in there one day.

I went to pick up a package todayfor my mom which is disabled and ca not pick it up by herself to find out that I have tohave her drivers license to pick up her package. The manner in which the young ladytold me the information was so disrespectful and this was while she was on her personalcell phone asking the other person on the other end of her cell phone conversation, whatdo you want you told me that already, what do you want. Chewing gum and wearing herfitted hat backwards I dont mind, but the level of disrespect was uncalled for. I repeat,the worst USPS location I have ever entered!

The customer service is so horrible. They feel like because we live in the inner city they can talk to us any kind of way. And just to add they are so rude. I hate that I ever have to pick my mail up from there.

I was home all day Friday waiting for my package to be delivered and never received my package.. I was tracking the package all day.. called the office and a lady told be it was sent out and left on my porch.. so explain to the lady thats impossible cause I was home all day and check my mail and nothing was delivered and I have cameras in front of my house.. now Im trying to figure out where in hell is my package over 200.00 of clothes are missing. Going to my local police precinct to file a police report.. Irvington post office will never get away for losing or stealing my package

Very rude staff, horrible service. they dont answer their phone they say package tracking ID says delivered but I called our local usps office which are nice and they are helpful they said no after saying delivered they changed it to no secure place to leave package, customer never got her package.No one answers the phone. They are RUDE and UNHELPFUL.HORRIBLE PEOPLE

This place is terrible everyone has a nasty attitude, they keep important packages without even leaving a slip its arrived to the post office. So my suggestion track it online also even if you track it online they will say its not there. Even though you tell them it is so you have to refuse to leave give your tracking number, wait while they take as many customers they can before you in hopes you leave. After noticing you wont they go get your packages angrily. If you ask for the supervisor they say they are the supervisor, very unprofessional. Mail just not safe there I cringe anytime im waiting on a,important package sad.

They never come to deliver the packages instead they will put a notice in mail for you go pickup the next day, I was in the house all day waiting for them, nobody came. Next day went to pick pickup, I spend almost an hour there in line. There are so slow and rude. Very disrespectful. Somebody need do something about this place because there getting worst everyday. Why would I pay for delivery if i end up go pick up.

The worse post office ever, they rude and they lie about deliveries. One even stole my package while I was home waiting for it and he claimed that he left it by the door for me. Now almost same thing happen again, I was home all day yesterday waiting for a package, they claim they came and no one was home, but they didnt leave any notice. I am asking myself if anyone is watching over those comments, because if everybody is saying the same thing I believe someone should look into it.

I swear fo gawd this place is federal ratchetness. Who in all hell hired these lazy, depressed, dark and shiftless people? Who? I dont know why I park and do it to myself unless Im planning on wasting an hour of my time for a simple - weigh my package and drop off to be delivered - visit. Get your life, get your life over there! The energy is too low because clearly the mail isnt being delivered in their own lives. Damn. Youre a public service.

Very simply put they do not care about customer service at all.

I mean...its a typical post office. They get things done and often have to deal with some surly folks, so the staff there can be a bit surly at times. Ive had one misplaced package incident (they did find it eventually) and one knuckleheaded moment where the delivery guy covering my regular mail man put a package in my mailbox in such a way I couldnt get it out. Otherwise, theyve been fine to deal with.

Where do I start with this post office ? First lets start with a simple phone call to track your package, the phone rings rings rings nobody picks up. Then you go over there and very rude attitude towards people asking for guidence. long lines, frustrating customers, no order. packages get delivered 2 months from neighboring states. Clerk says mail with mail man and mail man package not with him. This is by far the worst establishent servicing the public.

This post office is the worst. Everytime I have to receive a parcel theres an issue. From them stating they tried to deliver and notice left and there are never any notices and now I get a message stating the address is incorrect and parcel will be sent back to sender. Called the shipper and the address is correct. I mean how long is this going to continue and no one is not addressing these problems. I hate to have to live in this neighborhood and deal with this.
