On 9-15-2021 MR. GUSTAVO DOMINGUEZ. From universal med supply in the order fulfillment department. delivered my beautiful black wheelchair to me. He was very kind, patient and understanding. He explained everything to me. Answer any questions I had. he made sure I was happy and comfortable before he lefted. This company is very lucky to have someone like Mr. Dominguez working for them ..he is truly a wonderful person.. and he cares about people thank you
Universal Medical Supply has gone above and beyond to make my wheelchair purchase awesome. They have taken alot of time explaining the product and guided me on how to transport it. I would highly recommend them.
One of the most fantastic experiences Ive ever had from the very beginning of ordering the wheelchair to the very end extremely professional extremely knowledgeable and you couldnt get people working with the public that horse such a kick in the pants and had the ball rolling to get you your new wheelchair thank you so much
They started out doing great. Then they quit communicating with. Then I left a review and then was contacted by then and they explained what all happened and apologized for the lack in communication and then they did deliver the chair and did good explaining everything.
WENT FROM 1 STAR TO 5 STARAround 3 months ago my roommate had an Prescription (RX) sent from the doctor to this company. The company never kept him updated, lied about speaking to the doctor, and lied about the information on the Prescription (RX).- - Update: Since I posted, I got to talk to many individuals for this company. I learned that its the paper work for the Doctor that is the problem. I have been very happy with all the posted updates. - - -
This company has no time to discuss the safety of the products they deliver. They promised me that they would call the caregiver to find out the problem, but they never called. If you have an opportunity to go elsewhere, I would definitely find another medical supply company.
Ted did a nice, thorough job of setting up my follow up service call and politely keeping me Informed during several staged of the call.While I am not happy yet with the power chair measurements and maneuvering in my home this phone call went very wellUpdated 2/28/2020: I recently scheduled a service technician appointment to make modifications to my Invacare TDX SP wheelchair. The chair came with a post-production accessory modification to the hand control power seat adjuster. This accessory box came mounted to the outer right side of the primary hand control, it served as a direct shortcut to the software power seat adjuster, and it also reduced the clearance between the chair and every interior door of my house except the rear patio and front doors. This chair appears easy to modify for a progressive disability. None the less as I got used to maneuvering the joystick I kept clipping either the metal hand controls, the left rear corner of the left armrest cushion or the painted wood frame of several household doorways. One screw of the hand control mounting hardware appears to be stripped, keeps getting loose and is not covered under warranty; and within 5 days of delivery the corner of armrest became damaged from the impacts. When the technician recently relocated the accessory to the rear of the chair it added 1 1/2 inch clearance to my chair through doorways so I can now easily pass impact free. While everyone has been courteous to me I feel that the technician showed poor judgement in leaving the accessory in place on such a wide chair with an inexperienced (rookie) driver/customer- he should have recommended immediately relocating the accessory with such clearance and known that frequent impacts were probable and avoidable.Closing thoughts: Visit a dealer showroom to inspect/ test drive the available wheelchairs before your next purchase especially since they are priced close to $30,000. Ask and compare what is covered under warranty so there are no surprises. This buggy is mine for five years but I will likely explore alternatives to Invacare and Universal Medical Supply for my next power wheelchair purchase.
This place is the worst. So much stress dealing with this company. They sound very nice and tell me that they will handle my situations but they never come through. I have to hunt them down, only to hear different stories every time. I’m upset because now I have to go to another company when I was really hoping that they would be the company to take care of me.
My last chair was a Hoveround it took 6 months and to many phone calls plus 6 trip to the Dr. Universal Med less than 3 months 2 phone calls and I trip to the Dr. I wont be going any where else. Extremely happy with the chair and service. Plus the chair is 100% better than Hoveround more comfort features and turn ratio. Only thing missing is a cup holder. Thank you Ted and staff quick and painless service.
Worse customer service ever. A wheelchair got delivered to my moms care home in Nov. It was too big so the care home called right away to return it and get a smaller size. It is still at the care home 6 months later! We have called and emailed the mainland office and the local office in Hawaii. The local office doesnt even pick up the phone and is very unresponsive. Fortunately, my mom has a transporter wheelchair she is using but there is no excuse not to have the right chair after 6 months. I understand that wheelchair was ordered from them because they are one of the few providers who takes insurance for payment. Awful experience and it hasnt been resolved yet. I finally emailed someone higher up at their main office. We will see if they ever get my mom another wheelchair.

I am disable Vet and I need help with them, but I did get the service what they said they would do. I have not sleep well over two days because of there poor service. They only think of you as a number not a person that need help. Now it is going on two week and still NOT fix and still very little sleep When this nightmare is over with I WILL NOT USE THEM NEVER AGAIN!

I had a wonderful experience everyone was helpful from start to finish.
So far unimpressed. Shipped supplies without verifying anyone would be home. I was still in hospital. Everyone I or my case worker at the hospital spoke with couldnt answer questions. They then informed us they would not be making an appointment for assembly of the hospital bed since it was three pieces that just snap together. Took my father, who has built 3 houses and worked in heat and air industry as well as being a retired machinist, atleast 2 hours to assemble. Im not sure what I would have done as a paraplegic had my father not been there to help.Update 11/07/2017: Prescription/referral from the doctor included my weight. The bed and a transfer board were both rated for less than I weigh. Once contacted to pick up equipment they did retrieve it quickly except the guy tried to leave the mattresses for me to deal with. Still unimpressed.
THIS COMPANY WILL DO YOU WRONG. MY DOCTOR STARTED THE PAPERWORK THEN THE SECOND SET WAS AN ISSUE WITH MY DOCTOR. SO I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS SWITCHING DOCTORS THAT WAS ON DECEMBER 6th 2018. I CALLED AFTER THIS DATE TO TELL THEM I HAD A NEW DOCTOR AND THEY SAID WE WILL SEND THE NEW DOCTOR PAPERWORK. SO I CALLED ON 4/17/19 TO CHECK ON THE STATUS AND TO SEE WHY THEY NEVER RETURNED MY VOICEMAIL. COME TO FIND OUT THAT THEY CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AT THE REQUEST OF MY OLD DOCTOR ON 12/28/19 I GAVE THEM MY NEW DOCTOR WAY BEFORE THEN. AND WHEN U TRIED TO TALK TO THEM THEY WILL TALK OVER YOU. THEY WILL SAY THEY ARENT GOING TO ARGUE WITH YOU.WHEN U ASKED THE LADY SUPERVISOR TO SPEAK TO HER SUPERVISOR SHE WILL TELL YOU THAT SHE DONT HAVE ONE. SO I TOLD HER SHE WAS NOT THE OWNER AND SHE CLAIMED THAT SHE WAS AT THE TOP OF THE LADDER AND COULDNT GO NO FUTURE SO I SAID YEA RIGHT BECAUSE IF U WAS THEN U WOULDNT BE A SUPERVISOR U WOULD BE THE OWNER.SHE WILL ALSO SAY U THREATEN HER IF U ASK TO SPEAK TO HER SUPERVISOR SHE ALSO CLAIM THAT SHE WILL GET HER SUPERVISOR TO CALL U BACK WHICH DIDNT HAPPEN.
I have had more problems from my powerchair from this company in 2 years!. I formerly had a chair for 6 years and never replaced anything but the batteries after 4.5 years.Ive had this chair for 20 months and replaced the seat 5 times because the seams ripped after 2 or 3 months and a new tire.A few months ago my battery charger suddenly stopped working.I WISH MEDICARE WOULD DROP THIS COMPANYAnd the TITAN chair
Universal Med Supply supplied me with my wonderful Trident Heavy Duty Power Chair in 2018. They delivered it right to my from door and sent a technician to teach me how to use it...He was kind and helpful and made everything so easy to understand.A year later my powerchair got some kind of short in the wiring and I was lost without it and could not go anywhere or do anything...I was a prisoner in my own home. I called Universal Med Supply for help.I was transferred to a WONDERFUL service representative named TED in the technical service department. He helped me activate my warranty on the powerchair and facilitated all the communication with the manufacturer to replace the part that needed replacement. It was a time-consuming process for him since the manufacturer was moving their warehouses to another state and could not find my part.Ted kept me informed every step of the way and gave me updates every time he got one himself. He really kept after the manufacturer and got things moving.I must say that Ted was the most kind and considerate customer service technician I have ever had the pleasure to deal with from any company! He was compassionate and so very courteous. He really cared and treated me as though my situration was the one and only problem he was taking care of and I felt like I was a real priority. Not like some cattle that other companies treat you like. I looked forward to hearing from Ted every time he called because I knew it would be a plesant and informative experience. I dont EVER want to deal with anyone but Ted from Univeral Med Supply!From this point forward I will use Universal Med Supply for all my medical supplies and needs. My name is Wayne Gould and I am disabled and needed to replace my 7 yeat old power wheelchair through medicare. Universal Med Supply contacted my doctor who filled out the paperwork. Universal Med Supply processed the paperwork.I have learned that getting a power wheelchair through medicare does not move quickly. It took about a month for my new chair to arrive. I was worried about getting repairs because of the remote location that I live in. That worry was solved by Ted in the service department. Ted was very helpful getting me replacement parts for my chair. Actually my Titan wheelchair by Drive had a number of problems and to my suprise Ted got me a new chair delivered in 7 days and parts to fix the my old chair. I highly recommend Universal Medical Supply and Ted
My wifes doctor ordered a wheelchair and a bedside camode unit because she broke her hip and 12 days later she is still waiting. Doctors office, insurance case worker and my wife were involved trying to get all resolved in getting the units. No response, no returned calls. Apparently they dont care about service. My wife has a lot of difficulty moving and getting to the toilet,thus impairring her ability to heal. They need to employ people who can do their job. not worth even one star.
6/11/2019HORRIBLE REPAIR SERVICE. Scheduled home visit was 10 am to 2pm. Tech called to say he would arrive between 4 and 5p. Showed up at 5:30p, left at 6:30p to go get some velcro, called at 7:45p saying he went to several stores and couldnt find any he returned at 8:00p with the velcro.
I called Universalmed Supply about a week ago and got a great resource as to me getting an electric wheelchair they called me back today to update me as to my chair so far they are a ten star team Im sure it will stay that way
They were all very clear spoken about the chair, and explained every detail,and how to use it, they always answered the phone or called me back briefly when I had a question concerning the chair, they were very polite, did not rush in and out,answered questions responsibility, Id recommend them to anyone, thank you,
