I have worked for Montrose for only a year but in a short amount of time I can see that the future is bright for this company. Integrity, ethics and safety are some of the core values that management grasps and instills in all employees. I admire the professional camaraderie across the country working together with different geographic regions to achieve a common goal. The avenues provided for merit based advancement are prevalent. As an employee what more could you ask for: competitive compensation, good benefits and a generous vacation package.
I have to start with the fact that Montrose is my employer. Ive been with the company for a year and a half. Its a dynamic, growing company. There have been some growing pains, but the company has a great vision and a lot of energy. I love working on special projects. It seems that for whatever project comes up we can find someone with great experience in that topic.
I love my time at Montrose. The pace is fast and nimble and brings an opportunity to make a difference. Safety is a top priority for all employees and management is committed to making sure everyone goes home safely to their families. The people at Montrose have integrity and ethics and are committed to making a great company while protecting the air we breathe, water we drink and land we live on.
With 1 year under my belt with this new and energetic organization, I felt it time to post my update. As with most opportunities, my initial approach was cautiously optimistic. Everyday, I find my caution fading and my optimism growing. Ive encountered a great team of environmental leaders, and senior management thats philosophy is concentrated on the cultivation of its employees and clientele as their focus for success. This company is in growth mode and the vocational opportunities are vast. Whether a client or potential employee, I highly recommend them!
If you are looking for a collaborative, challenging, and energetic work environment, Montrose Environmental Group is the place to be. I am always presented with opportunities that have allowed me to develop both personally and professionally. Great group of team members to work alongside with too!
Fun work atmosphere, generous benefits package, excellent team of individuals who are a pleasure to work with. This is a great place to work if you are creative and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
(**Do not be fooled by the 5 star reviews, they are all highly paid executives with the exception of one review. The Executive Vice President of Marketing and Operations encourages employees to write reviews and create LinkedIn accounts to boost the companys network and help their tarnished reputation. Another shameless tactic to fool the masses in search of services and employment.**)This place is a nightmare. Its a constant revolving door of staff, management, policy if you want to call it that and politics. With a company of over 700 employees nationwide, they have only 4 members in Human Resources, in which half are incompetent. They hire inexperienced, tactless youth to keep costs down. Employees avoid contacting the HR department with real issues because they know their issues wont be handled appropriately and with consideration. This department along with Accounting & Finance flies by the seat of their pants daily with no direction while their managers stay behind closed doors sending emails or gathering in private offices amongst other executives for hours on end.Theyve gone through four Controllers, two CFOS, 1 HR Director, several accounting staff, support staff, Field Technicians, District Managers, temps, etc. and theyre on their third CEO who is a wolf in sheeps clothing on assignment by the corporations main investors. Hes smooth talking and plays his role well, yet unprofessional with coarse jesting and curses like a sailor. He smiles, laughs, and carries on with lies in your presence, then stabs you in the back the second you turn it.The Vice President of Human Resources is the king wolf so prepare to kiss her behind to keep your job and advance no matter which office you work at. If you get the pleasure of meeting her, she will smile, laugh, and sell you oxygen then leave you high and dry once youre in. Together they have mastered the illusion of inclusion and as soon as you are no longer apart of their plan or voice an opinion on the contrary, theyll escort you out of the building. The CEO runs everything through her and does not make any decisions on his own because hes still learning the fairly new company...through her. The former Executive Vice President/Vice President of Corporate Development/Interim Vice President of Technology, now CFO has worn many hats and has gone from a cheerful, fun, high-five giving, easy going guy to a stressed out, angry, lying wolf like the rest of management. It is quite interesting how raises amongst the several executive management members continues to climb well into the $150,000-$250,000+ mark with hefty bonuses all while those on the ground doing the dirty work to keep the company running scramble to make ends meet. Especially those working in the dangerous and explosive labs barely making $11 per hour after many years of service. If you and a colleague have the same amount of experience and education, whomever management favors more will receive a higher salary, bonuses, and perks like telecommuting. They constantly move employees from office to office, desk to desk, department to department like cattle. Accounts Payable dodges/wont return calls for past due accounts and management knows and does nothing about it. Vendors have walked in and demanded payment, theyve been threatened with lawsuits by vendors, some have even threatened to bring the sheriffs to collect payment, yet the executive managements pockets are bursting at the seams as they celebrate closing after closing over unlimited drinks or lavish getaways up the coast on the companys dime. So much talent has left the doors of Montrose, some at will but mostly by force and it is terrible to watch. The lack of communication, constant turnover, politics and secrecy behind closed doors makes stress levels high with job security hanging in the balance of managements feelings on any given day. The lies, greed, and deceptive behavior continue to be the downfall of this corporation.
GREAT PLACE TO GROW: My legacy company was acquired by Montrose Environmental Group just little under a year ago. I have to say all of our employees including myself were nervous going from a small mom and pop to a corporate world. However, now after a year I could not be happier. I have the opportunity to work at the corporate office, just so happened they had space for the Project Managers and Data entry clerks from my office. I get the privilege to interact with the executive leadership team daily. I have felt so welcome from day one and been given so many opportunities and new experiences. I am constantly asked where I want to be in 5-10 years by my superiors, and feel the true support that they will help get me there. From my experience, one of Vijays goal it to get all his employees not only where they should be best to grow this company, but where they want to be. At a social event for the company, Vijay was speaking with a newly hired Project Manager and he was asking how it was going. The gentleman said it was good with shrugging shoulders. Vijay asked what he wanted to be doing and he indicated Design Engineering. Vijay immediately called Ryan Brokamp from ES Engineering and set up a phone interview for the gentleman. That is amazing that someone at his level cares so much to not just talk the talk, but he makes things happen. Every time one of our technicians come to the corporate office I try my best to introduce them to Vijay. Not everyone in a company of 750 will get to interact with the CEO, but every time I introduce them, Vijay makes them feel welcome and truly listens to them about how things are going. No only Vijay, but the rest of the executive team truly have such passion for this company, their skills and making sure the rest of Montrose feels supported. Our employees successes are the companies successes and our leadership wants to celebrate everyones successes. In just a year, Montrose has given me opportunities to feel the freedom to try new things, branch out my skills and go after what I want and the support to make it happen.I understand their will be growing pains with any acquisition. I expect Montrose has made mistakes and not made every single employee happy, but I can say this, they try. I have seen daily the executive team correcting many policies that were put in place, that just didnt work. Not everything is perfect and when it isnt you try again. I am thankful to have a team that is not perfect, that understands mistakes, that keeps trying new things, being creative, innovative and connecting its employees and clients with opportunities. We have such a great team of skilled technicians, project managers, technical experts and leaders. I am proud to work for Montrose Environmental Group.
