Very nice people and I was initially very happy with the service. However, billing has been a nightmare. I was asked to pay out of pocket even though I have insurance and told insurance would reimburse me. My insurance is supposed to cover 80% of the cost. The dentist didnt file the claim properly the first time. The second time my insurance argued one of the procedures down to a lower one so either they didnt file properly again or they up-billed the procedure. So far my insurance is only reimbursing an arbitrary contracted amount that is a third of what I was billed by the dentist. When I asked about this contracted amount they had no idea what it was. So two months later Ive paid for 60% of a procedure I should have paid 20% for and I have a hole in my jaw I have to rinse food out of constantly. Oh and theyve not once returned a phone call.I have to wonder if asking people to pay out of pocket is an intentional way to get more money for the procedure. They obviously know they have contract rates with insurance companies because they negotiated it. So they direct bill patients their full price then put in the insurance claim knowing theyre only going to reimburse the contracted amount and the customer gets shafted for the difference.

I really like the Staff from the front office, to the hygienist to the dentist everyone very courteous and professional. They answer all your concerns and questions and really take the time to listen and answer and explain the procedures. And I greatly appreciate their patience. I highly recommend.

If you are on a budget not recommended. Everyone one is nice there and seem to know what they are doing but billing and being upfront with costs of what needs to be done is definitely not one of their specialty. On my first visit with insurance, stuff kept adding up and that you need this but not covered by insurance and added up to be a huge amount that I had to pay out of pocket. The annoying part is they did this while I was completely numbed out and couldnt really talk and the extra stuff kept coming. It would be nice specially during these times for you to extend the courtesy to a patient and provide them with some estimates of costs before you do the work, specially if it’s going to be paid out of pocket to see if they can afford something. Not every one is rich.Sadly this visit will be the last. Thank you.

Dr. Nina Sharma and her entire staff is an absolute delightful and my oral health has improved tremendously in just six months of treatment! I look forward to keeping my teeth beautiful and healthy and I couldnt do it without the help of her and her colleagues.

Ive been going to Dr Sharma for over 5 years and Ive had a great experience every time I visit. Dr Sharma and the rest of her staff are always very friendly and accommodating.Ive had my wisdom teeth removed, gotten braces, and a veneer on a chipped tooth Ive had since 5th grade. Dr Sharma always takes the time to go through each of the processes and what they involve in detail before I agree to do it.My smile and teeth have never been better. Id recommend this dentist to anyone looking for a new one.During Covid theyve been careful with making sure only a limited number of people are inside the office at once. Everyone is wearing masks and your temperature is taking on arrival.

I’ve never in my 26 years of life and visiting dentists for routine cleanings every 6 months been told that I needed a deep cleaning. Dr Sharma is friendly and quite charming so I fell for it and went along with her recommendation. I walked away feeling like it was a good experience overall since everyone was kind and pleasant, but with a very funny feeling that I had just paid out of pocket money for a dental cleaning.Later, I tried to schedule my next appointment for several months later because I only wanted a cleaning that was covered by my insurance 100%. When requesting this, I was told I needed to go in every 4 months for follow ups and I would have to pay. What?! Clearly this is their sneaky way of getting more business.I wanted to like this place.. I really did. But I can’t go on with a dentist that doesn’t have my interests in mind 100%.

I’m always greeted with a friendly genuine smile, Everyone from the front desk, to the hygienist to Dr. Sharma are very professional and polite. This dental office is amazing! All the staffs are really sweet and friendly. The doctor is great. I got my brace here for almost 2 years and everytime i see them its like i am visit my friend. Ive been coming to this office for years, and continue to be so happy with the care I receive every time. I had previously put off going to the dentist as I did not feel it was a priority and felt my own self care of brushing and occasional flossing was sufficient. This office was recommended by a co-worker; what a game changer for me! The hygienist, Amber, is kind and knowledgable and taught me how to take such good care of my teeth in between my regular visits. She has so many tips that have really paid off for me. The office has early morning hours that work great so I can make it to work on time. Dr. Sharma is also a 5 star dentist; very kind and thorough. So happy to have this team helping me to keep my teeth healthy and in good shape.

Ive been afraid to go to the dentist let alone search for one since moving to Orange county. Even worse one of my crowns came off and I knew I had to find a dentist fast. I was dreading the whole process to look for a dentist. Luckily Dr. Sharma was able to fit me in the same day. They were very pleasant and worked with my insurance. I had a tooth another doctor ruined with a root canal. I left it there because I wanted to get an implant. But, the tooth got an abcess and was very painful. I went to Dr. Sharma and oh my! She was wonderful!!! She started me on antibiotics and I am feeling so much better! I have an appointment next week to pull the tooth and start my implant! Thanks you so much, Dr. Sharma!

BEWARE. Went to OC Dental Specialist to get a cleaning. I had x-rays done. Afterwords, the dentist talked to me about how much build up I have and that the office manager would explain to me the treatment plan. Office manager shows me the cost breakdown (image). She stated that my insurance would not be billed because I have an HMO and that I have a fee schedule for my plan. Essentially I would pay a price that the office and insurer negotiated. They are telling me the work is going to cost me 240 for a cleaning and 1200 for a tmj device for a total 1440. Happens I work at UCI, and have excellent benefits and insurance. I make a quick call to my insurance company, explained to them the office visit and gave them the Charge Codes. Guess what, i have a 0 cost for everything. I called the office manager and explained to her that I talked to my insurance company and told her that everything is covered under my plan. She said that the cost was because of the laser, I pushed back and told her that the cleaning was all inclusive per the insurance company. She told me she would call me back after she talked to the Dentist. Guess what, she never called me back, so I called her and she said that she still had to talk to the dentist about my case. I asked her why she had to talk to the dentist instead of my insurance company. This is where it gets funny, she stated that dentist office cancelled their contract with the insurance company yesterday (how convenient), and she was asking the dentist if she would honor my insurance. She told me she would call me back by the end of the day. I called the insurance company again, and they told me that they were still contracted with the dentistry office and that I should change dentist because of how suspicious the office manager was acting. Office manager never called me back naturally. This office has very dishonest practices. I would not be surprised if they are double billing the client and insurance company. Dont sign anything from them that will make you liable to pay before consulting with your insurance company. I would give them negative stars.

Every member of the team was amazing- they were so friendly and put up with me being a baby. To Dr. Sharma herself- absolutely amazing. She is not only caring and compassionate, but clearly an expert. When the X-ray sensor holders they put in your mouth in the far back made me gag, she held the sensor herself. I had a very long and complicated procedure, but I never felt any of the numbing shots, and she constantly paused to make sure I was doing okay. She also explained to me what she was doing and how she was doing it during my procedure. I told her beforehand that I like to know what is happening because it helps me feel more in control.

Hi,I did two root canals and several cleanings here, It was my first dentist since I moved here 1.5 years ago I found them on yelp, i hope my feedback can help you to choose the right dentist :Positives:1- Dr. Sharma is very kind and responsive.2-The office location is very convenient.Negatives:1-The staff change all the time, I did each of my cleaning with a different hygienists. The same issue with the dentists!., I did my root canal three weeks ago with a doctor there and after two weeks when i returned I was told that the doctor is gone! and when I asked why, the assistant told me he just said goodbye and left!.2-The front desk is not very well organized. 95% of the time I had to wait 45 min to 1 h for the appointment, when i complained about this, i was told this is normal if you go to a dentist!.3-I had root canal on an abscessed tooth, The doctor forgot to give me antibiotic and I had unbelievable pain because of infection, I had to call and finally got a prescription for antibiotic and I finally could sleep after two nights. simply lack of experience.4-In overall: not very experienced/professional and poor discipline.5-They give you too many consent forms to sign, please read them before signing.

I gave them a 5 star in the past but I am changing it to only 2. The main dentist is a very nice lady and another lady who did deep cleaning for me was great too. But I am very disappointed in their business practices. They were supposed to work on most of my front teeth and based on my dental insurance, they quoted me $300 per teeth and $300 for the lab per teeth. Two months later when I was ready for the process, they changed it to $900 per teeth (increased it by $300 per teeth) and used an excuse that the old quote was for metal something instead of procelein. They basically changed the price for no reason. Even worse, the insurance company (Delta) assured me that with my insurance they should not have quoted the new price. Pretty sad since the lady dentist is a good and qualified lady. But I guess they are under financial stress and need to increase the revenue and have chosen a wrong path for that. Once you promise something (I even had it in writing) don’t change the price...

1.0 star rating 2/13/2017Scary dental practice and i will recommend to stay away from unprofessional like them. Read all reviews with low scores and they will tell the similar horror stories.I visited them to get one filling refilled, front desk staff extract all your insurance info in advance and they will give financial details to Dr. so they can extract as much money possible. If you have premium insurance you will end up getting more not needed treatments done as they will create horror story around that.For me they wanted to get whole mouth x rayd and told 4 cavities which i never felt visually or orally. Thought have insurance why not get them fixed. Then Dr. did treatment without anesthetics and punched cuts around 4 teeth.After few days one of them got infected landed up with Root Canal (RC) luckily didnt go with them but other place and they did pain less dentistry.Felt other 3 teeth they drilled very deep and it gave pain for almost 8 weeks now. Drilling deep will have high chances of patient returning back to them for further RC treatment.They made my life horrible as i didnt had any pain when went to them then 4 fillings, causing tooth infection (may be there hygiene is not up to standard) ended up in RC and then bad treatment of other 3 tooth.STAY AWAY and AVOID PAYING THEM $$$ and PAIN FOR YOURSELF.

I found OC DENTAL SPECIALISTS through the Yelp reviews given for Dr. Sharma I needed to find a new dentistry since moving back to Orange County. Im also getting married in a year and want to fix up my smile before the wedding. Based on the reviews, website browsing and a few google searches, I decided to make an appointment.I do have severe dental anxiety, especially with the needles, so its important for me to pick the right place to feel safe, and like theyre not trying to up-sell me on surgeries, procedures, etc that arent actually necessary. From the moment I spoke with Tiffany on the phone, I knew I was in great hands. All of the staff here is friendly, attentive and treat you with care.After looking at my x-rays and chatting a bit with me about what my goals are before the wedding, Dr. Sharma and team got right to work with a plan on making my mouth healthy first and foremost.Yesterday I went in for the first of two scaling appointments. Dr. Sharma has a gentle hand and an incredible bedside manner. Im a true mess when those needles come around, and she made me feel at ease. They gave me a stress ball (shaped as a tooth) for me to use and have my hands distracted.Im very happy I found Dr. Sharmas office. Shes thorough, kind, been doing this for 20 years and I believe will have the best plan for me. Her staff truly do treat you as family.I will update of course as we continue on with fixing up my smile. But if youre reading these comments considering making an appointment or switching up your dentist, do it. You wont regret it.

After decades of routine dental treatment, my visit to OC Dental Specialists today was far and away more thorough and more enlightening than any previous one. Dr. Sharma spent more time explaining than my previous dentist had done cumulatively over the past 10 years.

Im sure most people also hate going to the dentist but Dr. Sharma and her staff were fantastic! The office is clean and welcoming the service is friendly and informative. For the first time I have found a dentist I trust and even enjoy seeing. The best dentist in Irvine.

Be careful this is a very dishonest money oriented dentist. they advertise they are a dental group with a variety of dental specialists. it is actually a general dentistry office with only one female dentist who is so so. All she cares is to get paid. Before dental work starts, they ask you to pay the patient responsible portion after they figure out how much payment they will get from your insurance company. I understand they want to get paid just like every other business. However, the dishonesty is they gave you one written estimate before the dental work and then gave you another significantly larger amount bill afterwards. You asked them why the amount is different. they simply said they underestimate and sorry.

This was the best experience my daughter has ever had a dentist office!! We have been to several over the years, but Dr. Sharma was so amazing and made her feel so comfortable and put my daughter at ease right away. She had my daughter smiling the whole way through. It was our first visit to this office so my daughter was very nervous. She had two cavities filled, and the Dr. didnt even have to numb her. Quick, Efficient, and Painless. I couldnt ask for more. They are very accommodative in scheduling cleanings and surgical procedures. I have been a patient of oc dental specialists for last 6.5 years. Dr sharma is by far the best dentist that i have ever seen, she is highly knowledgeable, courteous and a great listener. She has avery calm and personable personality. They have a great appointment system that sends you text reminders. The office is always clean and efficient. Front staff has always greeted me with a smileI am always very comfortable when i go there despite being a dental phobic. I have had all kinds of procedures here besides my maintenance cleanings. My children have had there braces here.I have had invisalign, followed by an implant and crowns. Not to forget i first came here because i needed a root canal i was terrified but Dr sharma assured me that i would be ok . She was so gentle and thorough i didnt feel a thing neither during or after the procedure. Love Dr sharma andher staff .

Truly Unprofessional. I worked for Dr. Sharma on a 9-18-17, it was a full day working interview, I decided to take another position. The next day I informed the office manager, Natasha, and gave her my address whereto mail my paycheck. I have contacted the office 6 times stating I have not received my check. ShamefullThat they have no intentions of paying people who worked in good faith.

When seeking a doctor, it’s difficult to find someone unquestionably adept and genuinely caring. In OC Dental Specialists, led by Dr. Sharma, the search was over after the first appointment.Over the duration of almost a year, I have visited the office nearly a dozen times, primarily for cleanings and Invisalign follow-ups. In doing so Ive inevitably met most everyone who works there. The dental hygienist (Vicky), the dental assistants, and the front office staff are all friendly and warm.Dr. Sharma is really lovely. She explains clearly and thoroughly and listens patiently; shes calm and composed as she works (and so youre then calm and composed); and she doesnt recommend unnecessary work.There was an incident where some mishap (I forget what exactly) occurred. I called to see if I could come in to have it addressed as I was flying overseas soon. Dr. Sharma was pregnant at the time. I believe it was her rest day and maybe also the weekend. Despite all that, she made a trip to the office to help address my issue.The kindness here isn’t a transactional one. It’s real. And I really appreciate it.Had I known of a practice like this when I was younger, I would not have been so apathetic in going to a dentist--and Id now have a few less cavities and one less crown.

DO NOT GO HERE!I had been going there for a few years now, but recently i noticed every time i noticed, a cleaning needed to be done, an xray need to happen, this needed to be done, that needed to be done. Then i started realizing that UPSELLING was happening. For a loyal customer, they were charging me fees for work that they had done, but had no recollection of doing.Hygienists leave constantly - dont think ive had the same person, I WONDER WHY? Need to treat patients as patients not dollar sings as they come in through your door.

Horrible experience with a crown, do not trust the small operation.Dr. Sharma filed a crown that was improperly set, I now have a flat crown. Very unsatisfied and was reported to my insurance company.The anesthesiologist Dr.Trujillo was not professional at all and was told I had complications during my procedure. Never given a real explanation to what happened, disappeared after I woke up. Too important?Dentist is sketchy to say the least and is after your insurance/ hard earned money.

I had an appointment January 12 at 3:30pm. When I showed up your office was closed. I left a message and nobody ever returned my call, explained what happened, or apologized. I will never return to your office after receiving such terrible service.

Had trouble finding insurance card and Joanna at front desk was so nice and helped get info. Thank you all for helping solve my short notice exam.

The dentist and hygienist are great. The problem is that the cost they present to you before the procedure is not the cost you end up paying. For general maintenance cleaning, I paid my copay and then received a bill of an additional $50+. For fillings, I was offered a deal of the day by one of the office managers, paid the price beyond what the insurance covered and now have and additional $150+ bill, as they didnt have any paperwork regarding the special deal I was quoted right before the procedure. Lesson learned. Always get copies of any prices quoted. Not doing business with the inflated prices these folks ask for that you will be paying out of pocket for later.

Hi,I did two root canals and several cleanings here, It was my first dentist since I moved here 1.5 years ago I found them on yelp, i hope my feedback can help you to choose the right dentist :Positives:1- Dr. Sharma is very kind and responsive.2-The office location is very convenient.Negatives:1-The staff change all the time, I did each of my cleaning with a different hygienists. The same issue with the dentists!., I did my root canal three weeks ago with a doctor there and after two weeks when i returned I was told that the doctor is gone! and when I asked why, the assistant told me he just said goodbye and left!.2-The front desk is not very well organized. 95% of the time I had to wait 45 min to 1 h for the appointment, when i complained about this, i was told this is normal if you go to a dentist!.3-I had root canal on an abscessed tooth, The doctor forgot to give me antibiotic and I had unbelievable pain because of infection, I had to call and finally got a prescription for antibiotic and I finally could sleep after two nights. After researching more about this, I call it lack of experience4-They give you too many consent forms to sign, please read them before signing.

Dr. Sharma and her team are super nice and professional. I had my root canal here and it couldnt have been a more pleasant experience except for it if it were free. Lol. 100% recommend!

Real 24/7 dentistry. I called several emergency dentists on Sunday morning at 7AM only to reach answering services and message machines. When I dialed OC Dental Specialists, Dr. Hada actually answered the phone. By 10AM, I was leaving the office pain free! On a Sunday!! Very professional and great bedside manner. I had a such a positive experience that I wanted to share my visit. I came in to check this place out through a groupon deal. I was so impressed with the caring attitude of the staff (thank you Vivian!!) and the professionalism of Dr. Sharma that i became a regular patient. Last week I brought my daughter in who subsequently needed braces. The orthodontist was thoughtful and placed my daughter at ease and it became a stress free visit for both us! So the other reviewer who said that this is not a multi-speciality office is i think mis-informed!I highly recommended this office for your kids and adults like me!

This is the best dental office in Irvine. Dr Sharma is an amazing Dentist, super gentle, her cosmetic esthetic work is superb, I have been at the practice for about 2 years and each time I have a great experience.Dr. Sharma is the first dentist Ive ever been to who has been able to numb me for dental work with virtually no pain. After a biking accident and losing some front veneers, I went to Dr. Sharma. When the initial veneers came in, the color was very slightly off so Dr. Sharma took the extra step of having someone from the lab come into his office so that they could both determine the appropriate color. The resulting work is amazing - the color is perfect and the shape is better than what was there before.The office is high tech, very clean, the staff is very caring... What a fantastic staff! Not only have all the staff been super friendly, but they are whole-heartedly understanding with regard to the financial burden that dental work can have on even a stable budget. They have worked so hard and fast to get me in and provided me with every financial solutions resource available to lessen the stress. I am so immensely grateful for the treatment Ive received both professionally and personally.Im sooooo happy I found Dr. Sharma. All the reviews I read were spot on.

I highly recommend OC Dental Specialists. Ive been going here about 7 months (2 cleanings, and one filling appt) and am throughly impressed. Today I went in to fix an old front tooth filling that was done poorly at a previous dentist, and was discolored. I basically needed a new 1/2 front tooth. This filling required anesthesia, and I was pretty nervous because Im a wuss about needles, and have never had a shot in the gums. Dr. Youngquist took the time to explain all the steps, and used a super-strength numbing gel - I didnt feel a thing. Dr. Youngquist then patiently perfected the color of the filling, and shape of the tooth. It looks really great, and his attention to detail is evident. This office can definitely handle cosmetic issues!

A friend of mine referred me to Orange County Dental Specialists, and Im glad they did. I was looking for some cosmetic work, and couldnt have been more pleased with the results. I have told others about your services and I hope they call soon.
