Alex and his staff went above and beyond to help with arranging my mother’s burial. They are extremely caring and understanding. They helped me arrange things since I was out of state and made sure the families wishes were carried out exactly as requested. Amanda went as far as to go to my mothers home to pickup a personal item for the burial since I was not in town to do so. They made sure we were informed and involved in every step of the burial. Amanda was extremely kind and helpful during what was the hardest time in my life. She helped us navigate all the decisions, and was extremely patient. Answering all the questions we had, and adjusting as decisions were made, and then changed multiple times as family arrived and asked for different arrangements. They were also very patient with our children as they each dealt with losing their mom in different ways. They took very good care of my wife while she was in their care, Steph looked beautiful and at peace. I worked with Alex when my dad passed away right before Christmas. Alex and everyone at Lensing’s Funeral Home were so caring and helpful during this difficult time. They took care of absolutely everything for me and were extremely caring and professional. Alex checked in with me several times and kept me updated on everything that was happening. My father passed just a few days before Christmas Eve and Alex worked around the clock to have his obituary out the next day and I had his ashes back in less than 48 hours. That was incredible and so comforting to me and the family. They handled all the paperwork and we had everything back to us within less than a week, even with a holiday built in. I cannot express my sincere appreciation for all that they did for my family and what great care they took of my dad.

They went above and beyond to helping us with the format of the pamphlet, Sarah came in on her days off to help with pictures for the pamphlet and slide show, staff went outside to make sure all visitors had an opportunity to sign the guest book, Michael turned on an outside heater and served coffee to those waiting. They are very detailed oriented which was so very helpful to our family.

We could not have been happier! Their Amish urns were all beautiful but we had a specific memory with walnut with our father so they special ordered us a walnut urn. Initially we planned for a funeral for two weeks out and then changed it to in 3 days. They requested our sister who wasn’t in the area give written permission for cremation which lead her to realizing she wanted to speak with our father and was able to get closure she might not have gotten, without that policy of theirs. Our father requested a burial on the Rock Island military cemetery that seemed to have many restrictions. They walked us through this process and all other things we could throw at them without making us feel like we were inconveniencing them. Their pricing quote was exactly what we ended up paying. We could not have been happier in such a sad time. Thank you!

Lensing Staff think of everything and are respectful professionals who make you feel like youre the only family theyre focused on during a most difficult time in your life.Our visitation started early and lasted 1.5 hours beyond the schedule, guests waitng. The Lensing Staff took the guest book outside for people to ed 2+ hours to meet with us. They were looped outside and around the build sign (especially those that had to leave), passed out programs to people while they waited and turned the patio heather on as the temps got cool. They even offered coffee to the guests as they waited.Their graphic artist worked closely with us to create the folded program using poems and multiple pictures, plus an added insert that held the order of service, and selected family pictures. They added selected music to the slideshow that ran during the visitation. The Staff thought of everything. and then some! Highly recommend doing your arrangements and pre-planning with Michael, Vicki and staff.
