I have been going too Hanson auto for a few years now, I have always gotten great service and great repairs, Hanson auto is hands down the most trust worthy and best auto shop in town, Jim and his associates are always honest, they treat their customers like friends and they are straight forward no BS people. They are very understanding, Jim is a great guy. They work very hard and they are FANTASTIC at what they do, I am happy and grateful that I have such a reliable auto shop near me.Thank you too anyone that works there for what you do.I highly recommend this auto shop to everyone, even if you live out of town I promise you that it is worth the drive, car parts are a bit pricey right now everywhere, but if you want your car fixed properly and taken great care ofgo to Hanson.

Hanson Auto did a great job helping to bring our SUV back to life after a collision. They quickly found the needed parts, kept us updated on the progress, and the results were fantastic. Our vehicle drives as well as it did before the collision and, while I hope I never need these services again, I wouldnt hesitate to go back.

This was my first experience going to Hanson Automotive, I was given two recommendations by family to get my truck fixed there due to the great service they had received. I was not expecting my truck to come out of the paint booth looking better than I ever imagined it would, let alone expecting the staff & owner to accommodate to every thing that worked in my favor instead of theirs. The process was done fast and timely as possible and I was beyond impressed with their efforts. On top of that, everyone was beyond personable and friendly every time I walked in the door. I was given more than I ever expected from Hanson Automotive and for that reason alone they will hold all of my future business and referrals.I personally work at a motorsports repair shop and understand how the industry process goes. My car was working okay....then I took it here for yet another new alternator and battery, thanks to the check charging system code that kept coming up after the last replacement this last year. I wish I didnt take it here ...(I believe this will be the 4th time in two years Ive had to replace the alternator & battery) right after getting yet another new alternator from here my car wouldnt turn on.... when AAA checked under my hood and ran codes the man advised me not to take my car here anymore.I am completely disappointed and feel fully taken advantage of.

Jim and the folks here took great care of us! My teenage sons were on a road trip and accidentally filled the tank with diesel instead of unleaded. (Oops!) They went and got the vehicle, spent a few hours cleaning the gas tank out and getting the vehicle back on the road! Same day service! Really appreciated by our family!! I have been coming here since I moved to Iowa for school, fantastic honest people, always fit me in even when its an emergency, I can always afford the work they do, they do it fast, they do it well, and cheap. Im on a college budget and they have maintained my vehicle entirely for the last few years. I really trust them and they treat me with respect I wouldnt go anywhere else

I brought my vehicle to Hanson auto last year for a repair which their workman misdiagnosed, when all was attempted the car was not running and would be prohibitively expensive to repair.Despite this negative experience however I would recommend this business. After several days of effort on their part, considerable expense, and dozens of man hours the owner ultimately decided not to charge me for any of this work (including the tow, and diagnostics) upstanding and ethical business practices such as these are laudable and I would not feel uncomfortable using their services in the future.

Excellent customer service! I hit a deer shortly after leaving UIHC. Hansons was recommended by our mechanic. From start to finish, Jim and his team took their time to explain what was going on and always asked if we had any questions. We couldnt be more pleased with the outcome! Not sure I want to let the secret out, Hanson did a great job. Car was put together with oem parts, Jim handled all the paperwork and adjustments to get it back to new. Ive had other body shops that wont put the extra effort in once they get started and find something else damaged they would submit the addition and didnt tell you until they were done that the work was incomplete. Not so at Hanson, they fix whatever is damaged and fight for you the customer.

Has a very knowledgeable mechanic. The staff all know what they are doing and bring your car back to the way it use to look.. awesome

This has been one of the most helpful automotive experiences I have ever had. They were honest,quick to fix, and most importantly reasonably priced. We took our car in on a Wednesday for an estimate. They had the parts in by the next Tuesday and work done by Wednesday. Very quick to get work done, and very nice to work with!

When my truck was broken into and needed repairs to the door, I took it to Hanson, where they fit me into the schedule promptly, and most importantly, got it fixed right the first time, they were able to deal with my insurance company to adjust what was covered by the insurance. They also called me periodically to update me on the progress on my vehicle. The quality and level of workmanship on the repairs and the paint was top notch. Bottom line, these guys are good to go, I would certainly recommend them to anyone, and I will return to them for future work.

I keep taking my car to different places hoping to get the same kind of care and service that Jim gave us at Hansons. It was always clear to me that he really cares about taking care of customers - I always brought my car here for oil changes because I knew that theyd give me a heads up on things I should be keeping an eye on without pressuring me to get unnecessary work, like Ive experienced elsewhere. Couldnt be more pleased with Hansons. We were in Iowa City for a week on a business-and-pleasure trip and dinged a rear light and bumper. Jim and his crew got us in and out in a morning. This is a fine family-run business -- honest, friendly, skilled, and personable.

I had a minor accident that put a hole in the front bumper of my 2002 Volkswagen Jetta. I stopped into Hanson after reading the great reviews and was not disappointed. Jim started off by insisting he use genuine Volkswagen parts for the repair and was able to push back on the insurance company who wanted us to use a re-manufactured part. When he had the parts, I dropped off my car on Tuesday evening and it was ready to pick up by noon on Thursday. Im very pleased with the turnaround and the attention to detail Hanson Automotive provided. They were very flexible with my schedule and afforded me the use of a loaner vehicle for the brief time my vehicle was in the shop.Overall, I would recommend anyone to use Hanson Automotive for any vehicle.

Recently I had an accident leaving my Vehicle destroyed. My insurance company wanted me to take it to one of their “recommended garages” but since it’s my choice to use whom I wish, I decided to use Hanson Automotive. I have used them for mechanical work in the past and have always been more than happy and after reading their body work reviews on line I knew they would take care of me “not” take advantage. Jim & Josh have always gone out of they’re way to save me money and get me back in my vehicle fast.As soon as I arrived at the shop I was overwhelmed with the great customer service and the immediate help dealing with the insurance company claim. I made two calls, the first to my insurance company and the second to Hanson Auto and I didn’t have to do anything else. The owner Jim Hanson made the whole process smooth and painless. He also overheard me get upset with my insurance company when I realized I didn’t have rental coverage, Mr. Hanson immediately stepped up and informed me his shop offers free Loaner Vehicles!!!!I picked up my vehicle tonight and was elated at the sight of what looks like a brand new car!!!! Kyle Hanson did my paint job and it’s a perfect match!! This young man is a perfectionist. Not only did he do an amazing job but he also took the time to buff my headlights and make them look brand new!!!But wait they didn’t stop there…. My car was returned to me cleaner than when I brought it to them!! Evan Hanson looks to be the youngest at the shop detailed the inside of my vehicle. You could tell he takes pride in his work and work ethic definitely runs in this family. This young man is going to be my new detailer!!!This Auto Shop’s Customer Service is the best I have ever come across. Came here for a quarter panel + front bumper + roof fix. Did a great job. Literally 2 days later got rear ended in a parking garage, came here as soon as I can...both visits went well.

I hit a deer on Hwy 6 coming into Coralville on a Saturday night, and decided to take my Highlander into Hansons based on the google reviews. I sure am glad I did! They were able to get it in right away on Monday and worked with my insurance company to get all the parts approved and me back on the road. Jim kept me in the loop the entire time, calling to give me updates on what was going on and what they were still waiting for on order, and a time frame for completion. He was also great at explaining to me the parts that needed to be replaced and where they were located since I am not familar with mechanics. My Highlander came out looking better than ever! The paint match was perfect and they even cleaned out the inside for me. They were a dream to work with and I am so glad I looked them up!

We had the unfortunate circumstance of coming out of a zoo and finding our tail-light broken and a note on our windshield. The people at Hanson work very quickly and are very friendly. I chose Hanson based on the positive reviews I read on Google, I am glad I did.

Jim and crew have always taken great care of me. Ive brought both my vehichles here for multiple reasons and cannot find a reason to complain. He treats my vehichle as if it were his own and wont be satisfied with sub-par work. Im always informed about how my cars progression. Everyone Ive talked to has an answer for me or finds someone that knows. My Gpa is a retired mechanic, 35 years, told me to find someone who would take care of your car as if it were their own. Take the time to sit down and listen to Jim and crew and youll feel just that!

Hanson fixed the poor work of another shop, and made my car, at 145,000 miles, look better than it did new.Im not kidding, look at the photo.My 02 Subi took hail damage in 06, and the first IC shop who fixed it would not take responsibility for the hundreds of chips that had appeared since. My insurance, however, agreed and I selected Hanson based on other work Id seen on their website and in-person.I complicated matters with after-market lights, repairs to the bumper and headlights, and mirror covers with integrated turn signals. The result?Perfection.

Hanson Auto is Great! I was reccomended to them by a friend. They go above and beyond to repair your car. My car went in for a rear end collison, although it didnt look like there was a lot of damage, it turned out to be more than could be seen. I picked my car up and it looked better than when I bought it. The paint job is better than I could have imagined. My insurance wouldnt allow a rental- Jim went out of his way and gave me a loaner of his. I would and will reccomend this place to anyone needing body work done!

I just ran my car through some flash flooding iowa city had and luckily i was right next to the shop. i pushed it right infront of the shop and called the owner the next day to let him know what was going on. he had it in the shop and on the phone with insurance right away for me to get it taken care of promptly. my eclipse looks amaxing and couldnt be happier with the like family service i recieved
