Will never even think about going back to CNM. Mechanic went through $775 worth of parts and labor trying to fix a mower I TOLD them was running on one cylinder before calling exmark and being told to do a compression test!! He called exmark because he didnt know what else to do. My wife called to see if they would work with us on the price since the mechanic made the expensive fix before properly diagnosing the mower, Dan (the owner) was extremely condescending, like she didnt know anything because she was a woman. The man doesnt even know what a compression test is. He told her they dont do that there?! They just repeatedly blamed me, well you said it was throwing a code instead of taking some accountability for their own decisions on what/how to diagnose. Absolutely the worst experience Ive ever had. I would HIGHLY recommend you go ANYWHERE else.

CNM is my fist stop shop when looking for lawn equipment. I have purchased a Gravely mower, two Stihl chain saws, weed eater and edger from Dan. And this weekend I plan to stop by and purchase Stihl hedge trimmers. Customer service is important to me long after my purchases. You won’t be disappointed!
If you believe customer service is dead then you need to visit CNM. Outstanding products, great customer service and no pressure sales. They are extremely knowledgeable on their products. They provide excellent service and support of their products. Great service department with pickup service if needed. They have outstanding product lines. Truly a great small town Iowa business with small town values.

Great folks who are very knowledgable about their products. Was shopping for a new mower over several months, compared other shops and manufacturers what they offered at CNM and was pleasantly surprised at the low pressure approach. Intended to buy John Deere zero turn, went with the Gravely. No comparison in build quality and the staff answered questions without pushing. Very happy we went with the Gravely from CNM Outdoor Equipment and strongly recommend both.

Went in there needing a part for my rider mower and gave him the manufacturer, model, and even offered the vin #. He told me I cant get a part unless I have the part #, and then referred me to a website to look it up. I even described the relative dimensions of the part. Does this place not have the access to the same website they referred me to? This is poor customer service...Edit: Thank you for following up. I had been told to search the aforementioned website and then ask once I had part #. I incorrectly assumed parts were handled similarly to auto parts stores, where I provide the make, model, etc. and ask for a part (e.g. starter relay).
Updated Review:Three years have passed since the original review. I recently needed work done on my boats mudmotor. Des Moines area marine shops wouldnt look at it because it uses a small engine (non-marine). The local small engine shops wouldnt look at it because it was on a boat. CNM did everything they could to help me. The repair shop troubleshot the issue and was informative and helpful, even though it was outside of their normal area of focus. They spent a lot of time researching the issue and did a great job communicating with me. I eventually needed a type of clutch that they couldnt provide, but they were still willing to do everything they could to help me solve my issues, and I will definitely patronize them in the future. I am glad I tried CNM again.Original Review:After visiting their showroom I found the mower I liked. The gentleman was both friendly and helpful. After deciding on the mower I wanted, I called and told them I was going to buy the specific type of mower (mower was in the 5k price range). They took my information and said they would call back. Two days later my call still wasnt returned, so I called the Gravely dealer in Dallas Center and within 15 minutes had a return call and a deal on what I wanted.I really wanted to work with the guys in Indianola, but it required less effort to spend money on the same thing just a little further down the road. If I run into future issues as I have the mower maintained or replaced, I will try CNM again.
DO NOT bring ur snow blowers here for a tune up or to get em fixed I had 3 of them here I will start with the first of need a pull coil after the string snapped worked great the replaced it and it never worked after they so called fixed it had to use the electric start second needed a tune up and a leak in it ran for one building and Quit the claimed the fuel was shut off only in transport do I do that and btw the leak was fixed on one side not the other the 3rd needed an anger belt replaced was told be ready in less than a week cuz they had to order a new belt 2 and a half weeks later still no call back I had to follow up with them and they still claim it was ordered I guess it may have been from China I guess still no belt I gave up picked up snow blower to take to desmoines to fix em right dont trust em I WILL NEVER BE BACK HERE
