I scheduled my appt 4 days out and I received an email stating a technician would arrive between 8-12. On the day of the appt I called to verify what time someone was planning to be there and I was told 2pm. I was glad I called. The technician was on time, he spent about 8-10 min looking at my fridge and told me that I needed a new fridge bc the compressor was overheating and at 130 degrees. Also told me GE wasn’t a good brand for this reason. Told me he was worried it was going to start a fire which made me anxious. I immediately went to Nebraska Furniture Mart when he left to see how quickly I could get a new fridge into our home. The nice salesman talked to me about the issue and recommended I call a different repair team for a second opinion. Man, am I glad I did! I had to pay after hour fees, but they came out and had a completely different assessment of my fridge. They spent about 30 min looking it over and doing testing to diagnosis the issue. Turns out the fridge fan was being blocked bc the fridge was too full! Didn’t need a new fridge after all. I couldn’t believe it.
