I feel that I have been charged exorbitantly for filing the returns. Since, the beginning, I had asked for my estimates for filing the returns but tax advisor never clearly shared the estimates for filing and did not offer options to re-consider/evaluate my options. Also they do not provide itemized/break-up of charges to understand why I was charged so high.

Patricia Jamell was and is quite helpful in explaining the process. We first visited with a backlog of tax issues as well as past due tax filings. Patricia confidently took on a backlog of filings and now has me caught up.

Over the years after establishing a relationship with my Block Advisor Patty Jamell she knows my family and I. I like to do business with people I know and trust.

I have been using block advisors for several years now. Unfortunately this, my wifes identity was compromised. So we had to fill out some paper work, and returned it promplty. After about 4-5 months(this week) I called, just to ask if there are any updates.After several days playing phone tag. I was told that I was actually supposed to send them out myself. Even though they told me just to drop it with them.So now my taxes have been sitting in their drawer for several months. I am absolutely irate! We are a 3 person family with 1 income. Now we have to wait an additional 6 months to a year for our return. We would have been 4 months ahead, had anyone communicated with me.They also tried to say they wouldnt be responsible for any additional fees. Which obviously would not hold up in court. Just thought this may be helpful for others.If you use them pay close attention. They dont communicate well, and are not recommended by me at all. Very dissatisfied, and disappointed.

Im very loyal to her I even drove from Evansville to have my taxes done by her is she is the only person that I would want handling my taxes but more than that I wouldnt want to be sitting across from anyone else but her while getting my taxes done. The fact that I know she cares about me as a person and wants the best for me, and assist me with knowledge about my taxes and is so very proficient I wouldnt want to go anywhere else. Horrible experience. I am an international student and I dont know much about taxes so I called these people to help me out. They said the lady who does international taxes is Robyn McMahon. I talked to her on the phone and she was polite and answered questions before I setup an appointment with her. I setup an appointment with her at 7 PM. I get there and I am welcomed by Robyn who looks very stressed and starts the conversation by how its stressful time of the year. She talks about how messy her office is because of all the work that is pending and how she has been there since 7 AM. Anyways, I start showing her all my documents, she keeps asking questions and I answered all the questions that I could. I wasnt sure about a couple of things so I ask her a few questions as I wanted to give them the correct information for my taxes. The more questions I ask the more red her face turns. You could just see the stress on her face. 10 mins in, she stops answering my concerns and starts getting VERY rude. She asks me to sign the document in a very rude manner and I told her that I am not sure about something I am signing and would like to know (international taxes is different than regular taxes). She interrupts me while I am talking by doing the hand gesture (like talk to the hand one) and yells Get out of my office! and THROWS my documents literally on my face. I say Excuse me, maam?, she says I am done, get out. I have been here since 7 and I dont have time for this. You are being rude. I say Maam, i am just asking you questions that I dont know, I am not trying to be rude. I drove an hour after work not to be rude but to do my taxes. You have been stressed before we even started talking, you cant yell at me, throw my documents and tell me to get out She says Just get out, i am done and starts saying a bunch of rude things. I leave their office as no manager shows up to talk to me and see how she was treating me. I go out, sit in my car and then come back because I felt very disrespected by a lady whos excuse is that she is having a long day. I ask them if I can see their manager and the reply I get is that The manager is with a client right now and she wont be done till 10 I said Thats fine, I will wait until she is done Finally, the office manager shows up and starts explaining how they have been there for the entire day and how stressed Robyn is. She apologized for Robyns behavior, acknowledged that Robyn treating me like this was wrong and told me to work with Susan who didnt have experience in doing international taxes (Susan was very sweet and tried her best to help as much as she could). Though everyone just kept using the excuse that they have been here since 7 AM. Why would I care that you guys have been working since 7 AM? Its your choice and I am paying for your service. She is the one taking appointments at 7 PM! Why would you book an appointment at 7 PM if you cant handle working that long. I worked the entire day too and then drove an hour to do my taxes and had to drive back an hour at 11 PM because of what Robyn put me through! Should I also say that I have had a long day and start being rude? I spent 4 hours there just because of the unprofessionalism of Robyn the expert. She needs to do customer training before she even does taxes. Dont book appointments if you are already full and cant handle it. Robyn never apologized and left because she is their expert. They gave me a discount but I was never able to finish all my tax stuff since it was already too late, Susan didnt know much about international taxes and I also started feeling bad for Susan who had nothing to do with this. I just wish I could record the entire scenario so that everyone could see how Robyn was treating me. Whoever owns this, should really talk to Robyn about her rude behavior and not let it pass just because she is the only international taxes expert you have. International students, STAY AWAY!
