Maxim Healthcare Services is an excellent agency to work for. The management team is outstanding, and they work diligently to meet the needs of those they serve. I’m thankful to be part of this company.
Ive been working for Maxim for going on two years now, but will be relocating soon to my new home in Florida. I am excited to finally be living in the warmer weather, but will be very sad to say goodbye to this position. Maxim has been an excellent employer from the start! The interviewing process was very smooth, very non-threatening. It was a discussion between us to determine if we suited each others needs. They quickly made an offer, which was higher than the other agency I met with. And the position I took was perfect! Ive been working on a fairly consistent 2 days/week schedule with mostly just one client. I have been working PRN, and when I would submit my availability, there was no harassing me to take on more, or refusing to let me (as a PRN nurse) have those days/hours with my client. The annual Compliance and Skills modules are easy to schedule, mostly done at home on your own computer at a convenient time for you. CPR renewal was offered in the office, which made it especially easy. As COVID 19 became a part of our world, the Clinical Supervisors were open to discussion about the logistics of how to implement the CDCs guidelines in the home. All in all, its been a great experience. If you are considering Maxim, or are new to home heath care, I encourage you to give it a try. I feel like such a valued part of my clients family - she and her family are so wonderful to see each shift! They have welcomed me into their home, have entrusted me with the care of their loved one, and are truly a pleasure to work with! Thanks, Maxim, for this opportunity!
I was with the company for roughly a year. In that time I assisted several clients for them. I really enjoy being a caregiver, but it was time to move on from Maxim. In my time there wage increases were promised, given, and taken away 2 months later; as a result office staff was terminated too, even though I personally heard the approval for rate change... They still fired that person. Rules/laws were stated after an issues was brought to their attention for 8 months of wages being incorrect. Clients nor family members had anything good things to say about the company upon my arrival to their homes, especially after building a rapport. Some clients have stated they have began the steps to lawsuits against the company for their own personal reasons. Two of the biggest complaints I heard during my time there and multiple times were they wouldnt always send staff to clients homes, even bed bound clients. It was reported to me that some of the staff they send out doesnt properly provide adequate care based on care plans provided for each client... Their complaints, as well as, mine. Another time nursing and I got into it over a Cath. being too inflated and urine not able to release from the clients body, nursing said well he will have a nurse tomorrow, he will be fine... I snapped and he was sent a nurse to relieve his cath issues within the hour.During my year with the company I felt as though I was being harassed during the last 6ish months or so, with phone calls to take extra shifts after I sent communications requesting they ask someone else and to not disturb me during a family and a friends funeral session- two separate events. They managed to call, text, & email during these moments and so many other times too. I voiced my issues with it several times, it didnt stop. I began putting my phone on silent so my family and I could even do laundry or dinner together. It was the 2nd most frustrating part of the job.I recommend and ask that you to investigate/research before making a decision for a family or friend to receive services from any agency not just Maxim, because at the end of the day they are a company and that is your family/friend.
