I wanted my sons haircut for back to school. It was great that he was able to take me as such short notice and he was very nice and polite the length of the haircut was fine but the overall cut I was not satisfied with because the lineup was not precise or clean. I had to retouch the lineup and the cut to make it more presentable for school. I called and expressed my issue and and was instructed to come back to the barbershop to see if anything could be done but unfortunately with the haircut being so low theres not much you can do. Now I have to wait for the hair to grow out to try to get the haircut that I want.

This was the absolute worst haircut experience I’ve ever had. I showed the barber a picture of the cut I wanted which was my professional headshot and he looked at the picture close up and said he could do it. Mind you this is not a complicated hairstyle at all. I literally just needed the sides to be cut shorter. He completely botched my haircut. He cut the sides way too short and he completely botched the shape I was going for. It’s like he completely forgot what the picture I showed him looked like and instead of being professional and asking to see the picture more times, he just proceeded cutting. He finally turns me to the mirror and I am absolutely horrified but what I see. I have never looked worse. The cut was all wrong and it was like he ignored everything I told him and the picture. It was so bad that he had to get two other barbers to come over and look at the picture and tell him how to fix it. There was no fixing it, the hair was already gone. It just blows my mind how a barber can mess up so badly on a haircut when they have a picture for reference. One of the barbers who tried to help, told me to come back and he’ll cut it next time because it’s not a difficult cut at all. Although I appreciate the offer, I will never go back here. It’s completely unacceptable how poorly the haircut was. It’s unprofessional and now I can’t go out in public without a hat until my hair grows out. This is ridiculous. I am beyond upset.

I walked in at around 6:00pm and waited for about 30 minutes before being acknowledged and told that one of barbers was on their last cut for the day, the other was booked for the day, and the last had a client ahead of me and it was going to be a long wait time.This was after I watched two of the barbers leave for the day with me waiting.Now I’m sure this wasn’t intentional but when you’re a service business you can’t afford to have customer service and communication be this poor.Hope the store can learn from this incident and make an effort to improve communication in the future.

Lindsey braids my hair and Drew cuts it afterward.What can I say? This is a one stop shop for me. Everyone is sociable, kind, and respectful.I’d recommend this shop to literally anyone.All walks of life. This shop WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU. 💯You’d be doing yourself a disservice NOT scheduling yourself with one of these talented professionals!

I dont know of a better barber than this shop. This is the only place, I take my son to get his hair cut.

Ive been here a few times now and have gotten my sons hair cut by a couple different people. They do accept walk-ins, however you might have to wait if there are appointments ahead of you. It will not be a long wait though. The last 2 times G. Will was the barber. He did a great job! He even gave my daughter a beauty shop coloring book that he created. There is a nice, welcoming environment and fair prices. I would highly recommend this place.

Best haircut I ever had. Will come back every time. Also, I appreciate the barber who said she wasnt comfortable giving me the haircut I wanted instead of doing it and screwing it up. Highly recommend. Recommend making appointments instead of walking in.

Ive been taking my son there since weve moved to the Indianapolis area 4 years ago and I love Maris. This barber shop is just that, a Barber shop. Full of men, sports, testosterone, food, jokes, stories, bets, and love. Its not up tight, people can get that at work. Its a place to come in, chill, laugh, talk, and leave out looking your best. The quality of the workmanship is exceptional from every chair. Quality product, family like environment.

My boyfriend found this place based on reviews. We called and made an appointment and they got us in the next day. Told us yes just come on by. I walked in and showed the girl Ranisha a photo which she looked at for all of thirty seconds. I was scared at first that she didnt look more but she did an amazing job. My haircut is perfect and exactly what I asked for. I found the new place I will have my hair done and that is saying something considering the same person has cut my hair for more than a decade. Theyre super friendly and obviously take pride in what they do. And they do amazing work.

I come to the shop weekly. Its always been a good environment and great cut! G does a good job and the appointment system works best for my schedule.

Everyone was friendly. I loved how a stylist helped a dad with advice on products for his daughter and even offered to do his young daughters hair for him.

I visited Maris Barber Salon, and was first stunned at the sight of two women cutting mens hair. I nervously sat at Seanita Winburns chair and after seeing her skills i was not only satisfied with the cut, but impressed to the point that she will now be my regular barber. Im from Chicago and she is the best ive experienced in Indianapolis so far.

I sent my husband for a haircut here and verified time of closing and he was turned away 20 minutes before closing by one guy sitting down in his chair, and another just finished and had the nerve to put it on the guy still cutting hair to help me. Maybe these guys are able to do as they wish but thats unprofessional and very disappointing. If you wanted to verify hours as we close at 7 but be here by 6:30, then fine.. this is typical though for this type of setting. What a shame.

My experience visiting the state trying to find a decent barber for a nice quick cut I definitely wouldnt come back.I waited a long time to get in the chair. Then when it was my turned to sit down the barber jumped someone in front of me. SmhAnd didnt cut my hair properly cause hes in a hurry to close up shop.Smh

They let me sit there over an hour without saying only one was taking walk-ins that day.

Appointment or walk in the service is the worst Ive ever experienced since living in Indianapolis, The barbers actually do smell like marajuana & seem to be under the influence of alcohol.I strongly recommend that you go to Marlos barbershop which just opened not long ago down the street (5503 E 82nd St.) were regardless if you set up an appointment or walked in the service is 110% better than Maris, Never again will I or my family go to Maris.

Terrible.... These barbers messed up my teenahe boys hair. Hair lines werent straight and hair was cut super fast. I had to go another batber to fix my boys hair. So not worth it. And they xharge 20_25.00 per haircut. Not worth it

When is 7pm not really 7pm?..... Its when youre dealing with the unprofessional professionals at Maris barber salon. After calling to verify the closing time of the business, I arrived moments later at 6:43pm, only to be told by the 2 barbers (whom were doing nothing but sitting down), that they are closed, unless the other guy (who was in the middle of a cut) wants to help you. Some of their employees hail from the closed Castleton barbers down the road on 82nd. If this place is in the same vein as that one (few employees, sporadic opening and closing times, questionable moral practices), it will most likely not last. Very disappointing and seems to be a trend with certain groups. I guess Ill travel a little further for my cuts @ Kings barber off of Oaklandon rd.

The Barbers always smell like marijuanna. You can make an appointment and still wait hours to receive your service. 5 or 5 rules is posted. Doesnt apply, because the barbers are always late. Son had a 3 oclock appt with Lenny, 4 oclock comes he still hasnt been seen, and a man hops in the chair before him. Then thanked the barber for wasting my time. He said, sorry come back tomorrow. Like no. I made an appt for a reason. Theyll never receive my service. You can make an appt, and they stop, talk on the phone, go grab lunch, go speak to people in the parking lot mid haircut. All of which has been observed. Very unprofessional. The barbers listen to what you say, then cut your hair however thry please, push lines back, then attempt to convince you that it wasnt them. Wouldnt recommend their services to anyone. Secondly its not even a barber salon female hair cant even be done there.

Ended up shaving my sons whole head after the butchering they gave him.
