I used to love my old therapist here, she was nice, and very helpful! She ended up leaving for a new job opportunity (cant blame her), and I was handed off to Jamie Burns. Today I met her and she is excellent!
Terrible. I was sent here by an employer that is trying to hire me for a pre-employment psych evaluation. This concept seemed to be too difficult for them to understand despite their website saying that they do pre-employment evaluations. Instead, they just did an intake evaluation wasting my time as well as the employers time and prolonging me being able to start my new job.
Will be retracting my services. I Couldnt get through to anyone for 3 days. i would call during business hours and there was no answer and no way to leave a message. I showed up to my appointment just to be told that my appointment had been cancelled due to provider calling in sick. i had recieved no call or anything. I understood. I rescheduled. Then the same week (2days after) i get a call from them saying my sons appointment had to be cancelled because his provider called in sick.... I dont know whats going on over there but its very unorganized and will most likely be taking my familys needs else where.
This facility and their staff have all the stars for being professional, kind, informative, respectful and honest. I was able to do walk in for services. After intake I was able to be scheduled to be seen by one of the providers the week after. Telemed is offered. I was felt heard, understood, validated and relieved like a weight lifted. I will recommend Horizons to anyone looking for quality mental health care!
I have been coming here for years and the staff has always been great. Today the receptionist sat there for 10 minutes until I said do I need to sit down? Mind you no one else was in there. She said, oh, what can I do for you. Then proceeded to make me feel like a drug addict wanting free meds. I think they need to rethink their receptionist staff.
I love my dr and my therapist! The problem is with the other staff! The receptionist are rude and they are so overbooked that’s it is so hard to get an appointment! I don’t recommend this place based on that! If you call to ask a question you are made to feel like you are wasting their time! The wait time is often overwhelming! I absolutely love my therapist- she gets a five star!
I am so thankful to have Horizons and the staff there that truly care for and about you. I have read all the other reviews and yes I can agree that it is hard to get in and for whatever reason they are always short of therapists but they have always worked with me to get me in when needed. We did have a small problem here about 4 years ago when we were charged for things we didnt know we were going to be charged for and the bill was over 2K dollars in a very short period of time BUT my case manager and the director of Horizons worked on it and we were able to have the amount decreased and paid for it all and now then I just watch and make sure what i want wont cost. I do have a BIG problem with crisis being over 80 dollars and that part of it medicare wont pay for. But I have been fortunate enough to be able to use the crisis text line 741741 or on FB and that has helped me more at times then going into crisis would have!
I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, and attempt to use this facility since my son has an anxiety disorder.I can not express this enough. BUYER BEWARE!! This is not the place for anything short of a scam. Ive canceled two of the last appointments that I did not make, and still getting charged for them. My next step is to get an attorney in on this as I feel Im getting taken for a ride. If you are able. Please locate a different facility. There are several good ones in Wichita that carry quality, proper care with them, and will not keep charging you for canceling their services.
My experience with horrizens has made my mental health worse! Trying to get a therapist here is quite difficult seeing how they are short staffed. Ive wasted so much time and money on this dump. I hope the clients they have are being taken care of. I wouldnt know the quality of help they provide because my appointments keep being pushed back. Ive been trying to get help from here 6 mouths now. I recommend finding independent therapists instead of this place.
This place is amazing I went to see them after many years of going to a provider in Wichita who would not listen to me about my problems the Dr in Wichita just kept me so stoned on 4 different medications that were not working for me that I could barely function.Horizons seems to really care and I have been contacted by their staff 4 times since I started my treatment with them a month ago just to make sure that I was ok I feel really confident that they are going to take care of me and I am glad because I have been struggling for many years. To the people who say they are understaffed you need to realize that every place in Kansas is understaffed in Wichita if I had a problem with the treatment it would often take a month or more to be seen by someone that is not the case with Horizons they even have a crisis center available to help their patients good luck finding this in Wichita
Nope dont do it! Poor people will have thier income tax held and none profit organization is a understatement. If your in need of real help go to prairie star!
Amazing service awsome staff! Not a better place in the world to find mental health rehabilitation and/or treatment. They always try to save you money and have a pharmacy inside there facility. Definatly recommend this place if I could give 10 stars it wouldnt be enough to show my appreciation. Thank you guys so much!
The staff have for the most part all showed patience, compassion, and caring. Getting me the medicine, and therapy needed at an affordable or no price. That is what makes it easier to ask for help.
I was told they are currently understaffed due to moving their employees to other new programs theyve started, therefore Ive found that trying to schedule an appointment is not convenient. I had to wait a week before meeting my therapist for the first time, not a big deal, but then I needed to reschedule the date because of a conflicting schedule. I was hoping to get an appointment during that same week I was to first met my counselor. Instead I would have to wait an additional week before I can be seen. I decided to cancel my appointment and not reschedule. I will look into a different company that isnt so booked up and understaffed.
My husband has been seeing a therapist and psychiatrist for the last 2 months now. The psychiatrist had prescribed 4 different medications that havent been the right fit for him and are causing him and our family more anguish and stress than without the meds. She is clearly incompetent and needs to go back to school to learn how to prescribe meds correctly. I think she just Googles the main ones and gives them a try without knowing what they do. So frustrating!
The facility and staff are excellent. Unfortunately, the psychiatric staff is lackluster, dismissive, self serving, disrespectful, unconcerned for patient health and well being, and more absorbed with the financial gains to be had from big pharma kick backs that the physical effects of the drugs they are so eager to inject into the unwilling bodies of their victims. I am now in kidney failure because Dr. Tan was more than eager to listen to wild tales of delusions being the cause of damage to my home rather than give any credence to the possibility that drug dealing police snitches were breaking into my house and doing extensive damage looking for a place to shoot up, have sex and crash out. It didnt matter that there were dozens of broken windows, holes in my doors and walls, tire tracks across shrubbery and the lawn and that they were shooting up with methamphetamine four and five times daily. Dr Tans sole concern was to put me on the needle for his high dollar prescription to get his numbers up for the payment program and Medicare, and keep another patient bed filled, holding me prisoner for ten days.
Everyone at Horizons is so wonderful. The stigma behind mental illness is bogus. These people treat you like a human being and actually listen to you. Ive never felt like they just wanted my money, the way I have with other places. They even went out of their way to work something out with my insurance company, in order to get a full psychiatric evaluation covered. I was misdiagnosed as a child and had bad experiences with meds as a teen so I was leary about trying them as an adult. They gave me a definitive diagnosis based on the evaluation so that I could be comfortable with trying meds again; which was a healing process in and of itself. Dont be afraid to get help. Its okay to not be okay. Lets get better together. End the stigma.
Took younger brother in for appt that he is missing school for and was told that a parent was required to be present. No problem. Father got there and they waited for 45 minutes and then Diane McCarville, his pediatric medicine prescriber, refused to see him! Why even bother??? Good thing he didnt have to stupid copay!
Staff is not educated enough to make decisions, billing mistakes, long wait time.
Hopefully whatever u need is not important between 11 to 1 because there answering service sux and when u push 3 to talk to someone they send u right back to the answering machine
They just dont understand even though I talk about it over and over. I honestly dont know how theyre still in business. They dont care about you but they care about the job and the job alone. Im 18 Ive been there since I was 5 none of the staff seem to want to get along with you. They just dont care.
AMAZING
