I am very pleased with the services provided by C&K Roofing. I highly recommend them. Jim did the estimate and Beth brought the contract to my house for me to sign. She also helped me in deciding the shingle color (which by the way, was an excellent choice). The work was scheduled and the work crew (a total of 8) showed up as promised. The crew put down tarps to catch most of the debris which made clean up easier. They were able to finish the roof in one day a ++. The new roof looks amazing. Cody from C&K Roofing was on site and throughout the process he constantly cleaned up by picking up loose debris and scanning for nails. Cody made sure the wind didnt blow trash into the neighbors yard. He returned the second day to do another sweep of the area for nails. Never seen any company do a clean up this well. C&K helped me with an on going issue with my roof. Finally that leak is history. They were professional, used top notch materials and were quick and efficient. I highly recommend C&K. So much so that my daughter got them to replace her roof and repair damage done to the ceiling. They did a spectacular job and we couldnt be happier.

Quality work, but be patientWould I recommend or use C&K again – yes. Was I satisfied with the quality of the work – yes.Background: Exterior maintenance needed on 15-year-old property. What was initially planned as a roof patching job ultimately grew into a roof replacement, exterior painting, and new gutters. Contacted several roofers/contractors for recommendations and estimates/timelines of repairs.Getting on contract: It took approximately two weeks from initial call to C&K Construction for the owner, Jim, to come on-site, inspect the roof and exterior. Jim was very thorough in covering potential issues, explaining how they operate, and the materials they typically use. After discussing the situation, I concurred with his assessment. Jim provided a detailed scope of work and pricing which was on par with other estimates. The proposal was comprehensive for labor and materials for the three efforts. The proposal included pictures of the roof showing the general condition and areas needing attention. I agreed to contract for the three efforts. A different crew would work each element of the project with the work sequenced in logical order - roof, paint, gutters.The work: Roofing -- It took approximately a month to come up on their schedule for re-roofing. I attribute a good part of the waiting time to weather, with some waiting due to existing workload. On the day promised, the crew was on-site before 7:00am, and began around 7:30 after short weather delay. The crew was very methodical in their procedures. Work was divided up and each member seemed to know their assigned elements. The roof was completed by 7:00pm the same day. I spoke with the C&K project leader who said there were 14 workers in the crew. I inspected around the house after the crew departed and found they did very thorough job cleaning up debris from the tear-off and installation. All debris was hauled away that evening.Painting – The paint crew began approximately two weeks following the roofers. I discussed any questions with the crew lead (Yoni) before work started to clarify paint colors and what colors to use in certain areas. The crew removed old gutters, made repairs to exterior damage, pressure washed the siding (Hardie), and caulked joints. Painting included first coat sprayed on followed by second coat rolled and/or brushed to give better finished appearance. Repairs, prep, and painting took about three days. At owner’s request, crew assisted with cleaning two high-mounted light fixtures. Crew willing to go the extra step.Gutters – Job scheduled approximately two weeks after painting. The crew lead (Zack) and owner walked around the house to cover where gutters/downspouts would be located. The crew proceeded to measure, run-out the lengths, and hang the sections. The crew finished in about a half-day. Gutters appear pitched appropriately and downspouts securely fastened to walls.Summary: Although the total work took over two months to complete, I am (so far) totally pleased with the quality of the work performed and appearance of the finished work. The materials used (roofing and painting) would probably be considered mid-grade or slightly above. I expect to get adequate durability or life from the materials used. I think C&K recognizes the cost trades and expected life of their materials when they make proposals to customers.Bottom-line recommendation: I believe C&K will perform high quality work within moderate pricing that should give several years of service. Scheduling posed a challenge due to being a peak time of year for exterior work and perhaps the demands on their crews. Be patient, you will be pleased with the outcome.

The Gentrys and their crew at C&K were such a pleasure to work with. No sales pressure just professional advice and expertise. Responsiveness... check. Professionalism... check. Quality materials...check. Jim spent time at our house going over everything, and all the free upgrades they provide to ensure we get the best warranty. He and Beth are friendly, kind, and helpful. Their crews are courteous, thorough, and clean - not a speck of roofing gunk to be found on the ground. Couldn’t recommend them more!

We attempted to use this company, but we were treated very rudely. They did not meet the appointment time and when we called, they acted like it was our problem. They said they were the only Solatube dealer in North Alabama, so they can treat people however they want. I refuse do business with companies like this. We used Solatube in Florida and were treated very well and had a wonderful experience.

Totally satisfied with the service both before and after the sale. C&K Roofing installed a new roof as well as some interior repair due to the old roof leaking for me in November 2020. Couldn’t believe the clean up they did after the job. I looked for weeks and only found 1 errant nail. Still amazed at that.Beth is very professional and personable. I recommend their service for roofing as well as interior.

They did a very professional replacement of our roof with a 50 year warranty. They also installed 2 skylights and a solartube. They do high quality work at a very reasonable price. They are hard workers who dont stop until they are finished. They even added our chicken house roof to the contract without charging extra. This is an excellent company! When I needed a new roof, I googled several roofing companies. The reviews for C&K convinced me they were the right choice. Immediately after my first talk with Jim and Beth, I knew I had made the right decision. They are knowledgeable, supportive, and offer a tremendous roofing package. Beth was only a text away from answering a question or providing advice. This family-owned business is top quality. The new roof looks amazing! You can’t do better than this company.

Beth was the most unprofessional person I have had the misfortune to deal with. A couple of things to watch out for: 1) READ THE BACK OF THEIR CONTRACT. They charge a “cancellation fee” if they NEVER do any work or if they do not purchase one bit of material. They delay and delay (read Yelp reviews) and threaten you if you get frustrated and wish to cancel. 2) They covered over material on my roof stating that the contract does not require them to remove material to bare wood, even if they lead you to believe that they will. PUT EVERYTHING IN THE CONTRACT. 3) Debris is EVERYWHERE because they don’t clean as they go. Yes, they did come back and clean up, but my dog got a nail in her paw because they left NO entrance clear of debris. Their solution was for Beth to SCREAM at me to the point that I had to threaten multiple times to have the cops remove her from my property. The neighbors came out to see about the disturbance. It was THAT BAD. Read my Yelp review. They demanded to see the check before work was done because Beth didn’t believe that I would pay her (her words exactly) because they had had a military member stiff them in the past. My husband wore a veterans hat that seemed to set her off. Finally, watch out for the “reviews”. They add great reviews to dilute or drown the bad ones. Yelp is the only place I’ve found that they can’t demand bad reviews are removed.

C&K is an outstanding family-owned customer centric business. Brian spent several days prepping our leaky roof at American Legion Post 237 on Drake Ave. Today their team of professional roofers sealed the roof. There are a few problem areas where flashing and special trim are being fabricated and will be installed. C&K is donating all of the labor and they teamed with ABC Supply to provide the materials. This is truly a great company. The owners, Jim and Beth Gentry, are honest folks who are dedicated to serving veterans and improving our community!

We just went through the process of getting our roof done. Prior to Choosing C&K Roofing we got 6 estimates. After checking all the companies we chose them to do our work and THANK GOD we did! Their crew was fast, efficient, and more than professional. Now, as with any estimate their is always the unforeseen problems but this was not something they couldnt handle. Their crew had more than the skills needed to repair the substantial water damage to the rafters that was revealed. In addition to the rafter repairs needed, the soffit also needed to be replaced and this too was done impeccably. Last, and by far the most important thing, they worked with us on price!! I cant say enough about the work done, Beth & Jim and their crew in their professionalism and courtesy and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND C&K Roofing be your first call for any roofing work you need performed. Jim from C and K was very responsive with coming out to give us an estimate on our roof. Beth was very helpful with assisting in choosing shingle color. They were able to work us into their schedule to replace our roof. The crew doing all the work was very prompt and on time. They did an excellent job. The yard was cleaned really well. Just had my roof replaced by C&K and couldnt be happier with the process and the final product. My journey begin in January when I found three small leaks in my roof during all of the January rainfalls in North Alabama. Tried a few handyman repairs, but couldnt fix the problem (water leaks are extremely hard to track down). Finally called Beth at C&K and she had Jim at the house the same day. Jim went into both attic spaces and crawled around the entire roof - his conclusion; needed a new roof. I suspected as much since we have had several major hail storms over the years and many of our neighbors had already had roof replacements. Jim worked up an extremely detailed estimate, explained it all, and worked with insurance adjuster - very easy process. Beth scheduled the work and helped pick out perfect roof color. Crew showed up on time and had most of the work finished within two days (third day was detail work only and final clean-up). They finished on Friday and I spent three hours in the yard on Saturday (trimming, edging, etc.) - only found two nails - and I was looking (I am a very detail-oriented person). To top things off, found a very minor leak on same day of final payment - around a natural gas vent hood. C&K did not take the money and run - Beth had someone at the house (already dark and raining) and they fixed the problem right away. Bottom line - C&K was a great company to work with. - professional, courteous, and responsive. Jim is also an Air Force veteran - I always feel good about doing business with veterans. Use C&K for your roof replacement - you will not be disappointed.

C&K replaced my roof October 20th, 2020. They did an excellent job installing the roof as well as cleaning up the work site after the roof was installed. They were competitively priced and are a GAF Factory Certified Contractor. C&K was responsive to our needs we had a roof leak and they came out and tarped the roof which stopped the leak until the roof could be replaced, Beth and Jim were easy to work with and did everything they said they would do in a timely manner. I would recommend this company to someone who needs a new roof.

But the job was completed before the end of the day. Also they did a great job of cleaning up after themselves and the yard looked clean and free of nails. Absolutely awesome work!As a younger home owner I did not know the ins and outs of dealing with an insurance company and/or having our roof replaced due to hail damage. I was very pleased to find a company that was able and willing to walk me through the whole process. Not just with their company but also my insurance company. The owner of the company was even kind enough to respond to my texts and emails, in prompt time, to every question I had. This included the owner personally making phone calls to my adjuster.Fast forward to when the actual roof work was being done. The PM for our house constantly kept in touch with us. Jim and Beth made having our roof replaced a much easier process than I couldve imagined. From the estimate through completion, they were professional and detail oriented. The result is, in my opinion, the best looking roof in the neighborhood. CNK first repaired my roof where there were terrible leaks around the chimney.They then repaired damage to the interior, which ended up including mold from the attic eaves down a full story into the living room around the chimney. They fixed everything and filed all insurance for me. The work they did was incredible, fast, and so professional ! Other than looking fresh, one room looks the same as it did originally –you can’t see where the original room started and then had to be repaired! They replaced everything from the ceilings down the wall, insulation, drywall, they tore out my carpeting… As wicked as the task ended up being, they worked quickly and efficiently! The second room has been transformed as they did some extras while they were tearing things apart and putting it back together ! The room is lovely!The best part may have been the great communication. Everything was explained to me, and better yet, all insurance claims were put in and avcepted. It was rather hassle free for me, while it was a huge mess for them! The original problem was so much greater than the insurance estimator had anticipated, and/but C&K simply persevered and took care of every last detail. I am forever grateful!

Was suppose to have an appointment with this company between 11:00am and 1:00am. The owner did not show up until after 5:30pm and I have it all documented. He gave me a lot of small talk about it being a family business etc... took pictures left his c and k roofing card, said he could do the job and said he would send me an estimate. Long story short never heard back from him even called to follow up and was promised to be contacted did not get back with me! This company definitely showed a lack of professionalism! Would not want to do business with a company like this, such a waste of time. If its a small job this company want give you the time of day!!! Dont hire the company lack of integrity

I contracted them to repair a hole in the roof due to the original contruction . The job had to be expanded because of hidden damage. They showed me the problem and explained everything to us before hand. The also did a full walk around to check for other problem areas. I later discovered a small piece of flashing that had come loose after several months. Not only did they fix that, but by thoroughly inspecting other roof components the technician found some soffits that needed a few extra nails. The callback was at no extra charge and I am totally satisfied at their completeness and attention to detail.

We interviewed several roofing companies before deciding on C & K. My husband really loved Jim and felt that he would do good work. My husband was right! The roof is beautiful and the cost was very competitive. We also had them do vinyl siding and windows. The crew that did the siding went above and beyond and the trim work under the eaves and around doors etc. looks amazing! We love our new windows so much, we cant decide what window treatments to use since we want them to show inside the house. If you are looking for dependable, high quality work, call C & K. C&K did a very fine job on my roof replacement. They were very helpful in picking out the shingle style, scheduling the job, and dealing with the insurance company.They completed the job in a timely manner, were prompt and efficient in the installation, and left the area very clean. Had a treelimb knock down my gutters, was time to replace. Quick to get in touch, very hands off (not needing in the house or for me to be there for measurements or installation). Very quick installation, was done while I was at work. Highly recommended.

**UPDATE** Whether from reading this review, or just to follow-up with a lost client, the owner called me personally to apologize for the problems with communication outlined below. She did not mention this review, so if it was a result of reading it she was at least professional enough to make it about the service problems and not my response to it. That means a lot, so Ive added a star in and wanted to point out that next time we have roofing concerns we will certainly consider giving them another chance.I cant speak to the work they do itself, but communicating with them was a nightmare -- so much so, that I gave up. They never seem to answer their phone, and instead rely on a call center (much like the after-hours experience you would have with a doctor office). We seemed to be playing phone tag for days, with me leaving messages, because nobody at the call center was capable of doing/answering anything besides relaying messages. I kept telling them that my cell had no reception at work, and repeatedly left my work number. They couldnt seem to work this out and continued to leave messages on my cell phone.Finally they left a message that they would be able to come out on a certain day to give us an estimate. I called the call center, again, and let them know that the time mentioned was good. They never showed up.When looking to hire someone for thousands of dollars to complete a project, I certainly dont feel any confidence when I cant even get them on the phone or when they dont follow through with simple tasks. I see a lot of positive reviews, so perhaps they do excellent work, but as I didnt get that far my experience was pretty abysmal.

I was hesitant at first because they were very busy and they didnt know if they would be able to fit in my ridge vent job, but they called me one day and said they had a slot open to do it that day and asked if I wanted it to be done. I said yes and just hoped for the best.Originally I had asked for an estimate for 44ft of ridge vent installation and Beth quoted me that it would be about $600. Well it ended up that I needed about 52ft of ridge vent, and they repaired some parts of the roof while they were up there but they still only charged me what they had given as an estimate even though the job was bigger than expected. This is a great way to do business and will make me come back to them when I need to fully replace my roof.As an extra bonus, they informed me that I had a tree down in my yard and sent me pictures. This was great because I wasnt living in the house yet, and it could have been a few days before I realized it.The only thing that they could improve on is communication. I would email them and they might respond 3 days later. They didnt even email/call me after the work was done for another 5 days. I thought for sure once I owned them money for the job they would be more quick to get in touch.But I can not fault them on this, because the other two roofing contractors I reached out to didnt even respond at all. And when I was in contact with C and K they were very professional and very nice.I would for sure recommend them.

C&K Roofing installed our gutters this week, and I can honestly say that they exceeded my expectations with their work and professionalism. They were prompt (and kept in touch by phone as they said they would). Their estimate was very fair for the amount of work and the quality of gutters. They were polite, clean-cut, and finished the job by removing every last bit of debris and all the old gutter material. I will definitely use C&K again the next time I do a home project. Thanks!!

We are extremely pleased with our new roof. From start to finish, C&K were professional, courteous and easy kept us informed about the job. Jim provided a detailed estimate and they delivered on all points. Beth set up the scheduling and worked with us and the weather to get to the job as soon as possible. Really have had a nice time talking with the good folks at C&K. They are local and personable. My roof was done with no fuss and with great care for every detail; I couldnt find a single nail that I had to pickup after it was all done. I also had gutters put up in no time for a great price. Will be using C&K again!!

We had leaking roof only when we had a driving rain. This seemed like a real problem to resolve because under normal rain there was no leaks. Jeff came out and said this would be no problem - we had aluminum valleys that had been put in about 10 years before and probably was leaking around some of the nails. He stated that they would take up the valleys and put in rubber with coating on the bottom that the nails going in the rubber would be sealed like in a car tire. The roofing installer was here two days and removed a lot of shingles from the roofer that we had 10 years ago that was not installed correctly and also put in a lot of wood that was rotten from leaks. It did cost a little more than was estimated but I am really glad that the roof is now installed properly. I thought it would take 3-4 hours and when I saw all the shingles that he brought to the house that he would not use even close to that amount because I thought he would reuse a lot of the shingles that were already on the roof. Instead it took him 2 days and a square more shingles than what I had seen and so the roofer did a really great job - he was thorough the job. Today we had a driving rain and no leaks. Hooray. Now I can paint the ceiling to cover the water spots that had ben there for quite a while. We had driving rains only 2-3 times a year that it leaked for the past 5 years and I finally got ready to have it done. Finally it really wasnt very expensive.

Had a minor leak in my roof so I called C&K and they got a crew at my house within the week. They did a great job and the leak has been fixed.

This company is amazing. They go above and beyond to make their customers happy and work all hours to get the job done. They are punctual, professional, personable and ethical. I cant say enough good things about them. In a day where so many companies are just out to make a buck and have no care for the customer they are the exception. They care deeply about their work and the satisfaction of their clients.

Jim came to our home to give us an estimate. After he bad mouthed my insurance company for half an hour I decided to go in a different direction. This guy is extremely unprofessional and rude. He talked down to me as if I was in educated and beneath him. I would definitely not recommend this guy to anyone. He truly doesn’t understand customer service. I ended up telling him I didn’t want an estimate from him. Funny thing is he doesn’t know as much about insurance claims as he acts like he does.

Due to hail damage, we had to have the roof, gutters, and shed roof replaced. C and K Roofing did a fantastic job replacing all. From the first inspection, to picking out colors, to completion was professional from start to finish. I highly recommend this fantastic company!

Never showed up for my appointment, no call or anything. When I contacted them to see where they were, turns out they had forgotten and not bothered to look at their schedule. Tired of cutting out of work early to meet contractors who dont show up.

We had to have our entire roof replaced, and parts of decking, C and K Roofing were very informative and reassuring from start to finish. They take time to hear what you need and work to achieve that. A sudden storm blew in halfway through installation and they were very quick to get the house covered, even the owners of Cand K Roofing were quick to come help the workers cover the house and protect the work. We had a team doing inside work and even they got up there to help get the tarp down. They follow up with you to make sure you are happy and theres no issues with the work. We only trust our house needs to C and K Roofing. They handled everything with insurance making the process smoother for the homeowner. Thanks so much Jim, Beth and Brian :)

The crew are very detail oriented and happy to explain every part of the process so you know exactly what youre paying for. A benefit of this approach is that they wont sell you work that doesnt need to be done. I had a good experience with C and K and strongly recommend their work.

We did some due diligence a few years ago when we needed a new roof. C and K got really high marks and great reviews. Their rating with the BBB was super. We got a quote and it was very reasonable. The work they did was outstanding, a really good job. They had to come back a few months later when a tree branch poked a hole in our new roof (sad face) and their repair work was just as impressive if not better. I have recommended them quite a few times and would again.

Jim and Beth at C and K are the best. They helped us deal with a stubborn leak last Summer and Jim responded to our call last night to deal with wind damage from a thunderstorm. For any home issue, we know who to call for a quick response and a job well done. When friends and neighbors ask if we know a good roofing company, we tell them to call Jim and Beth at C and K Roofing.

I used C&K to remove a 4 skylight and to install a ridge vent. I was very impressed with the quality of their work and with the professionalism of their employees.I recommend them highly and plan to use them again myself in the very near future

We have had several jobs done this past year with C & K Roofing and each one of them have been completed beautifully and with a high degree of professionalism. We have had problems in the past with contractors that either did not complete the work correctly or would not show up as planned. C & K Roofing always went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the result. We have had a roof repaired, painting inside our home, a side sunroom porch, gutters, and will have a new front door installed on Friday. All of these were done by C & K. I really appreciate that they are able to do many different jobs and not just the roofing part of the business. It is nice to not have to deal with several different contractors when C & K can just about do it all. I highly recommend this company for any work that you are thinking of having done at your home.

Im so glad that I called C & K Roofing. I got two estimates to install a ridge vent on our house and was blown away by how the entire C & K team treated me during the process. They actually listened to me describe my problem, gave thoughtful and helpful recommendations, and STILL charged me far less than the competition! On top of that, they expedited the service and got the team out to my house only a couple of days after I signed the contract. Im a very happy customer and will be recommending them to friends!

Everyone was very professional and bent over backwards to make sure that I was pleased. They definitely went the extra mile as they did more than they were required to do. C & K did a quality job. Bumping my review to 3 stars as someone did finally call me after reading this review. I mean they still never came and I did wind up going with someone else, but it was nice to hear that someone did look and they did care enough to call me and apologize. Not bumping to 5 stars or anything, but I appreciate them caring.Old Review: Called twice over a week and a half. They returned both calls and assured me they were coming to give me an estimate and then never showed up and never called me to let me know. Cant really judge them outside of these interactions, but these should not be the actions of a 5 star rated company on Google reviews so I wanted to share my experience.

You could not ask for better quality and commitment to excellence than that provided by C and K Roofing and Construction Services. After having my chimney worked on by two prior lower bid construction companies, Jim and his crew came in and saved the day. I originally selected one crew thinking I could get by and save a couple dollars, but their work was so bad I had to stop repairs half way through and cut ties. The second company came in and appeared to improve on the first companies work, but everything only looked good from a distance. The chimney was leaking water after they left and the decking had not been repaired as promised. If Jim from C&K did not inspect and repair their work I would have had the exact problems and more a couple years from now. Thank you Beth, Jim and crew. You guys restored my faith in fellow human beings.

Friendly and fair pricing for a quality 30yr product that I am confident will provide shelter for my family for many years to come. The clean-up of debris was thorough (magnetic sweeping to ensure no loose nails), though there were some soda bottles scattered afterwards at the edge of my property, which is so much better than other contractors Ive dealt with over the years! Its a beautiful roof.There was one uneven spot along an edge that I called about (needed a few shingles) and it was fixed right away. To put it in perspective, Ive dealt with other contractors who will put you off, ignore you after youve paid, or try to price gouge you- not C&K, they were responsive and caring from start to finish. Its pouring outside, and Im confident I have no leaks under our beautiful new roof. I will definitely be calling them when I need other work done on my home (they do windows too!).

I contacted C & K after a hail storm. They did a great job repairing my roof and also provided a lot of extras that other companies were not offering.

I called this company twice. Twice they took my info and twice no one ever called me back to make an appointment. Moving onto next roofing company.

I called C & K Roofing for a quote on a roof repair after finding a closet inundated with water. Two men came out promptly, and searched the roof for problems (during a heat advisory). Not finding any obvious problems, they then suspected that it might be water leaking from my air conditioning unit. They then went into the attic (again during a heat advisory) and verified it was an HVAC problem.Since they dont repair HVAC systems, I offered to pay them a Service Call Fee; they refused any money.The other contractor I called first recommended replacing the whole roof.Call C & K!
