My sister and I drove up from Texas to pick up the contents of our parents storage unit. Our mother pre-reserved a trailer that she thought would be big enough. It was NOT. Luckily they had a larger one on hand to rent to us and did so at NO extra charge! The Employees were all very nice, especially the Manager. He was helpful and pleasant, even smiling and laughing with us, (which is rare anymore!) We would definitely recommend this location for all your U-haul needs!
They do not inspect their vehicles before they rent them out. I rented a truck from them, and when I got back to our apartment it was spewing coolant from an obviously busted radiator. I tried to call the 1-800 number which nobody answered. I tried to call the store and nobody answered. We drove back up there and they said that they couldnt answer the phones because they were too busy. When I told them the truck had broken down, they said I would just have to wait for a response to the service request. Finally after an hour and a half, it said someone was looking into it. They sent a repairman out, who immediately said that it would have to be towed. They had told him it was a small leak, even though I had attached a picture showing a pool of coolant underneath the truck. I put the service request in at 10:30 AM, and it took until 3:30 PM for the tow truck driver to finally show up to get the truck. This company, and this location in particular has zero customer service.Edit: Woke up this morning to a receipt for $415.53 for a rental of 7 days and 21 miles. My apartment was less than 3 miles from the rental facility. I am currently working with customer service to get a refund, which has to be done through the location I rented the vehicle from.Edit 2: After talking to customer service and a worker at the store, I got a refund.
Since I know how to read my move went great I knew about all of charges and made sure to bring equipment back in condition received I also was patient with the employees who were busy with other customers and they were great too a lot of these reviews are by people who don’t know how to read or just wait because they aren’t the only ones in the world
This uhual consistently has rude customer service. My friend and I ( we are black men) we’re next in line to get service and the lady helping us (she white) looked over us and tried to help the white man behind us. Thankfully he declined her service until we were helped but the fact that she even did that was upsetting.
If looking for a U-haul in the Huntsville area, use this location! The staff is very friendly, helpful, and will assist with any questions you may have.
Horrible! Greed! I dropped off van but couldn’t wait because my Lyft arrived to take me back home. Tammy Davis told me I could sign in on line. What I didn’t know, which was a confusing process, was that I needed to take a picture of odometer, etc. I took a Lyft back to UHaul at 4400 University Drive to confirm I returned van in on time. I’m glad I asked for a copy of my contract after a guy on his cell behind counter told me no worries he checked me in. I asked for contract and he said he didn’t do that part of the job. (???) But you just told me you checked me in. 🧐 I cannot believe I was told I spilled liquid in the van and was charged $25 for not cleaning the back mat when I only had 13 medium boxes of books totally sealed with wrapping plastic. They got me! I wish I knew the Lyft driver could’ve waited, I would’ve stayed in line to confirm checkout. What a scam!!!
Customer service there is horrible.Go somewhere else to spend your hard earned money. Stood right there as she walked away and helped a white customer as if I was not important. If you can’t respect me do expect my money.
This location is extremely slow, I’ve never gotten a propane tank refill here that took less than 45 minutes. I will not be returning. By the way the customer service is trash as well.
SCANDALOUS and UHAUL Moving help is a joke! The company I chose with UHaul didn’t have an operating phone number and response from Moving Help is little to none!
DO NOT USE these services.This location has absolutely no idea what is going on. The amount of staff is insufficient for the customers which have appointments. They are consistently disorganized; it takes forever to be served and when you do they have no idea where your stuff is or when it will get to you despite having a guarantee.Save yourself some time and a lot of headache by going somewhere else.
We received a verbal quote from the local U-Haul at University and Portman Dr in Huntsville AL for the purchase and installation of a trailer hitch assembly excluding the ball. The sales lady checked to see if all parts were available and scheduled the installation for 31 Jan. She said she would email the quote but we never received it (later determined that she used the wrong address). After the installation was completed and paid we noticed that the metal bar or tongue that ball mounts on was missing.Also, the bumper had a ding that was not known to exist before their install.My wife returned to the dealer and requested the metal bar. She was refused and the general manager denied they quoted (claimed someone from corporate sitting on a couch must have quoted), claimed we had a quote, would not show my wife the quote, waived the install record and claimed it was the quote but would not show it to my wife. She asked for a copy and he would not give her one. Most disturbing was that the manager tried to physically intimidate my wife by standing over her, inches from her face and yelling at her. He did not realize that my wife and I were connected on our cells and I could hear him. She asked him to back off and get out of her face twice before he did so.She pointed out the ding in the bumper and he denied that as well.
This store provides the best service you can get in uhaul. Ive been at many uhaul locations across the US and this one is the best. Justin has amazing customer service and trains his staff that way as well. I drive all the way across town to get rentals from this location because of the service. Ive rented trucks, trailers and had all the wiring for my trailers completed at this location.

I made a reservation online to pick up a truck On Governors on 8/19. I called the store to cancel and pick up the truck on 8/18. I was upset when I got there because they told me they did not have a truck available and my order got cancelled. I was informed that I spoke to the people at the call center and not the actual location. So I went to this Huntsville location and the guys here was amazing!! All 3 helped me when something went wrong. Awesome communication and teamwork. I would definitely recommend this location.
We are moving to California and went to this uhaul location to rent a trailer. Since day one we were treated super nice and friendly when we had the hitch and bar installed. Next day went to get the trailer and Willow helped us out with that she was super cool! She made sure we had the correct ball for the trailer to hook up and was very helpful overall.. they have alot of trailers to choose from and everything is on point.Great experience so far.
The gentleman who off loaded the Ubox was pleasant and professional. The only downside, there was broken glass in the area where we needed to back up to ramp to be off loaded. So be careful.
Man, these guys are great. They had a good attitude, good energy, and seemed like they wanted my business. They helped me make sure I got the right size truck, and didnt try to force sell me anything. I will definitely return to this location for my next move. Great job guys, thanks.

Really nice staff. They really were busy. They also did not have a truck we needed to move with so we had to use a van. I am not sure if we were charged the same or less or even more than what we wanted to use.
I needed my old wiring removed and new wiring put on, Willow knew exactly what to do and was fast. She is awesome. I highly recommend her and this store.
This place is a rip off, dont do business with them, find another store. Called and needed the truck a couple more hours they charged me for a whole day, but wanted it back 7:00 am when 5:30 pm would have been the whole day from the time I rented it. The put more fuel in it than it had when I got it. Its all over when they get your card number. They are just dishonest!!
Very good. Very nice truck. Great people. ONE CAUTION: If you rent a truck, rent it for the WHOLE day. If you rent it for a short period and find out later that your move is taking too long, u haul can charge you a $50 inconvenience fee (inconvenient to the next scheduled renter) plus an additional rental period fee (like $29). The reason for this, is that the local u-hauls try to schedule the truck for several customers in one day, so if you go beyond your stated rental period, you face the extra fees! U-HAUL DOES NOT TELL YOU THIS UP FRONT.

I had to fill two 100lb and one 20lb propane tanks today. My only vehicle is a car. I loaded up the tanks into my hatch lying down. When I arrive at the facility, they inform me that they cannot fill my tanks if they enter the property lying down. I had no one available with a truck to meet me across the street. You also cannot park across the street and carry them upright onto the property. I had to drive my car across the road, rent a uhaul truck, drive across the road in the truck, load them upright in the bed of the truck, and then I had to bring them onto the property to fill them before doing everything in reverse order. Also, if you have any adapters on the 100lb tanks which make it slower to fill, they wont allow you to borrow any tools to remove the adapter (adjustable/ crescent wrench). Which means, I only got one of my 100lb tanks filled, because they didnt want to hassle with the adapter on the second one. While I did get two of my three tanks filled, it took entirely too much time and effort to simply fill a few propane tanks.
Ordered a trailer hitch to hang a bike rack off of my car from this Uhaul location. 6 days later it was in and i dropped my car off to have it installed. 5 hours later they called to say they couldnt put it on because they didnt have all the parts. Really???? i order them. you said they were in. And for this I had to leave my car for 5 hours to then not get my hitch put on and told i would have to wait again. Manager there was extremely rude to me and told me there was nothing he could do for me and proceeded to not only smirk at me but to laugh at me in front of other employees and customers. A paying customer should NEVER be treated this way. we ARE the reason you are in business. DO NOT go here, they are clueless!!!!!
Corey kagel was so helpful.. he went above and beyond with customer service. While in the facility, Tyne other workers continually ask him questions and to do things for them. He never lost his good attitude it got flusteredAnd when my truck adoring was messed up, he actually went anf got s tool box and fixed it for me. Great example of customer service and has my loyalty. I will use the facility again for my uhaul needs because of such outstanding service!
I just wanted to contact you to let you know of my experience with two different U-Haul locations in Huntsville, AL on Dec. 31, 2015. It was such a bad experience that I will never use U-Haul again. On Dec. 30, 2015 I reserved a pickup truck for rental the following day at the location at 3713 Governors Drive in Huntsville. I was scheduled to pick this vehicle up at 11:30am. I showed up a few minutes early and the location was empty. A few minutes later, Tammy, the General Manager comes in from the back and informs me that my reservation has been moved to the location across town at 4400 University Drive in Huntsville. I needed to have the truck in a certain location to pick up some furniture by noon of that day and this was already placing me behind schedule considering that I was never notified in advance of this change. A few minutes later I arrive at the location on University Drive to attempt my pick up. While waiting in a line of 5 people, I start to become stressed because it is already 11:45am. The General Manager at this location, Paulette Boehlke, informs me that it doesnt matter when I was scheduled to pick up this truck. She states, that I will have to wait in line while she continues taking peoples orders and then going outside to fit them for their truck. I am a bit in a panic because this is not what I expected considering that I had reserved the truck for a specific pick up time for a reason. I finally left the location because I could not see it fit to pay U-Haul for the poor job they had done with having my reservation ready for pick up that morning. All this especially considering they have a sign in office guaranteeing that they will have the truck you order at the right location at the right time available for you. I cancelled my order with U-Haul and was able to reserve a truck with another moving company. Tammy, from the first location called while I was on the way to pick up the new truck and tried to get me to come by and pick up a truck that was now there at her location on Governors Drive. She claimed that the reason I couldnt pick up the truck at the scheduled time and scheduled location was because the call center had double booked that time. The pick up that was sitting outside her location when I was their earlier, she said, had been left by someone that had not left their keys with her. Either way, the whole thing was crap. I intend to never use U-Hauls services again and will inform people of this issue in the Huntsville locations.

About the slowest possible service. employees are friendly and nice enough, but apparently there arent enough of them. standing in a line of 7 to 8 people for over 20 minutes while one or two guys run back and forth to trucks is pretty ridiculous.
Great place, good service, they have pretty much anything you need for a hitch for a car, or truck, or moving, pretty good deals on the stuff, also serve propane as well.
I have had and am having the worst experience with U-Haul and will never use them again. They accepted my reservation and changed the reservation without even notifying me so I showed up at the wrong location. Second they didnt have the reservation for the time I reserved it for and so I took off from work for nothing because I could not get the U-Haul until the next day. I am currently disputing the bill and complaining about the terrible indifferent attitudes displayed by the staff and Im getting the run around from the manager. If you are decent and organized with no time to waste...DONT USE THIS LOCATION

I rented a trailer from this place. I didnt check the tire pressure until after I had loaded the trailer and done some highway driving. It was about 50 PSI with the tire still hot when it was supposed to be 70 PSI cold. It was stupid to trust these people and Im glad I didnt have a blowout. Wont be back.
Absolutely the worst managed U-Haul facility I’ve ever had the displeasure of having to deal with. They have continually charged us $15 late fees and $106 storage fees for a U-Box that we are not storing on the premises. We emptied the U-Box back in late October and it’s now mid November! We keep having to either call or go down there to have this fixed!

Had an issue with an extra charge that was added. Followed up with the email link they provide. No response. Now being ignored. Not the way I prefer to handle business.
Service was great, the agent was a gentleman, process was quick and it wasnt expensive will be using them again.
They try to make the renting experience easy as possible and the staff is top notch.

(Updated after finding issues) Every time I step in this place, they are packed like the DMV and never have enough employees to handle it for 1 reason or another. Today, I took my vehicle in for a tow hitch at 8am. It was only supposed to take a few hours. It ended up taking them until 2pm to finish it, because they kept taking the installer off the job to handle the crowd. You should have a separation of concerns when running a business. That installer shouldve been able to focus on his work instead of having constant distractions. In that time, he managed to somehow run my battery dead. After I finally hooked a 5x8 trailer up, I found out that the hitch was slanted towards the ground, making it impossible to use a trailer. I ended up having to have the movers who were moving most of my stuff take everything, but the stuff they couldnt take (i.e. aerosols, propane, gas cans, etc) which caused my move to take longer and cost more. My muffler also was rattling against the hitch which was very annoying. I finally got to my destination and had the hitch uninstalled, and and a full refund was made. However, the installer at my new destination found damages made to my vehicle from the initial install. So, now Im going to have to take it to my dealership for repairs, which will be getting paid for by UHauls claim agency. If only all the time that I put into this whole ordeal could be compensated too!My 2nd issue was that my calls to check the status were being routed to their corporate office who kept claiming they were unable to give any status on my install, and they discouraged me from directing my call to the location, claiming they probably wouldnt answer. Corporate customer service sucks basically. What they shouldve done was figure out what was going on with it instead of just leaving me out in the dark, which basically forced me to drive back down there and wait on it.Also, dont buy boxes from these people. In order to get the discounted rate, you have to buy them by the bundle. I put quotes on discounted, because Home Depot sells them individually for the same price...actually, cheaper. Plus you can get an additional 5% discount if you have a Home Depot credit card.

They had what I need and completed the install on time. They even cut me a deal on the price of everything will defiantly recommend and reuse next time.
